>steam hissed out of the boiler tank, followed by a deep droning whistle that reverberated through the train platform and out into the town streets
>"ALLLLLLLLL ABOOOOOOOOOOOARD!" somepony yelled 5 feet behind green and morning glory, almost making a point to aim right at their ears
>the doormare was kind enough to help Green down the steps to the platform, but that's as far as she went
>between the crutches, her saddlebags, and having effectively having two hooves and a mouth to work with, it was an ordeal pulling herself together
>Green wasn't gonna let her guest get stuck carrying all 4 bags
>resounding chugs boomed right behind them as the exposition train backed out of the station, two engineers trotting alongside and jumping up through the nearest gap in the catwalk
>and as it picked up speed, the train disappeared into the tunnel, and a heavy whistle blasted out into the station and earraped everypony
>then, silence
>the 10 or so fellow ponies had long disappeared to their respective destinations
>not many mares are coming to this small town on a late Thursday morning
>Green heaved her right side onto the bridge of her crutch
>"alright, lets go"
>"where?"
>"your house, right?"
>"uhm, sweetie, you remember how long it took us to get here?"
>"like, 7 minutes"
>"how did we get here?"
>"we flew"
>morning tilted her head
>"oh..."
>green remembered all the hills and the vast river mouth they flew over too
>"oh...." the life got sucked out of her eyes on that one, "soooo, what do we do?" green genuinely asked
>"well, the clinic's 3 blocks from here, and i really should check in with them," morning glory started
>"its only been 2 days"
>last thing green wanted to think about was work, and to drag her special friend there during what was supposed to be a 4 day vacation
>"but, i do have a farmer's cart that i fly into town with, i could carry you home in that,"
>"will i fit?"
>"i dont know"
>"ill live, unless you got a better idea"
>"yeah, lets do that. can you crutch for a few blocks?"
>green confidently nodded, shes a strong mare
>and she made it all the way to the station in florita, this towns not that big anyways
>the last two mares in the station started on their way, leaving behind a flock of birds, ducks and seagulls congregating in the middle

>the two moved at a snails pace in comparison to their usual flying, morning glory couldnt help herself but stare pitifully at her struggling friend
>"huh... hol... hold on a second..." green gasped out, slumping down on her crutches to catch her breath
>they had reached the last street corner before the road turned a sharp right
>"that was... three blocks right? is it right here?"
>morning really didnt wanna bust her bubble
>"its, three blocks from here" morning pointed down the street
>green stared bewildered down the street, the 3 blocks adding up to double the distance that she had already covered
>she groaned and hung her head, defeated
>"aww, poor filly" morning glory gave green a tight hug and chin nuzzle on the top of her head
>her chest floof was so soft, and mornings hugs could cure cancer
>green took a sharp breath and pulled herself up, resilient
>"alright, lets go." green clak'd her crutches on the sidewalk, primed

>as the two inched their way down the street, green got some sympathetic looks from the other ponies out and about
>she maybe recognized two or three that stopped to watch her hoop for a couple minutes, but they looked onto Green as if they knew her whole story
>finally, after a long slog, they reached a quaint storefront with a big red cross on the sign
>morning slunk ahead to hold open the door for green, who obtusely passed through into a waiting room
>"Morning! welcome back! is this your friend Green FN?"
>'i dont know you.' flashed across the front of the black mare's head
>"hey Oasis! yeah, aint she a lil' cutie?"
>'no.'
>"did Meadows get my herbs today?"
>"mmhmm! she took her fillies out to the caves today, said she'd come back with some Glowshrooms"
>"aww I shouldve told her to say hi to Sodalis for me!"
>"how was your flo-rita trip?"
>"it was actually really fun!"
>'was it?'
>"Greenie injured her knee during a game so that's why were back so soon"
>"awwwe, poor filly" oasis made a face of pity from behind the counter
>'dont ever say that again.'
>"but yeah, uhmm, are the markets still open?"
