>https://desuarchive.org/mlp/thread/34261176/#34286369 >Shit. >You bash the big heater tank, and once again it remains silent. "Great." >You head back towards the lounge. Though there are benefits to living on the outskirts of Ponyville, it makes it impossible to get any kind of plumber or technician without a trek into town. >You pause by the window, watching the intensifying flurry of snow patter against the pane; leaving little splotched snowflakes peppered across the clear glass. >The biting chill from outside is already beginning to overtake what little heat there is. >Looks like you'll just have to rely on blankets for tonight. The gas still seems to work, so at least you can heat up some soup or tea. >With a sigh you turn towards the kitchen, but hear a faint knock on the door. >You pause. At first you tell yourself it's just the sound of snow hitting the exterior of the house, but surely enough it comes again - this time a lot louder. >Who would be out in weather like this!? >You hurry to the door and open it, where you find your answer: Rainbow Dash. >The pegasus leaps inside with a chatter of her teeth, pausing to shake the stray snowflakes from her mane and coat. >They drop to the floor and melt. >"Holy Celestia, it's awful out there!" >She shudders again. >"I was just on my way back home and figured I'd pay you a visit." >She brings her hooves to her muzzle and blows her hot breath on them. >"The snow just starting coming down harder and harder, so it kinda became less me paying you a visit and more me rushing for shelter." >She laughs, still shivering from the cold. "Well, you didn't exactly pick the best time. Heater's gone." >"What!?" >Dash trots over to the closet under the stairs and inspects it herself, giving it a hefty whack as if that will somehow fix it. >"Yep. This thing's busted." "I'm not sure what to do, really. Don't exactly want to freeze to death." >The cold is already spreading through your body. >"Well, I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere, Anon. Even if I wanted to!" >She takes a moment to look out at the heavy snowfall, and then jumps up onto your couch. >"I know just the thing." >She pats the cushion next to her and you take the cue to sit beside the mare. >"You'd be surprised how warm these things can be." >She extends her wings with a smirk, wrapping one of them around you and pulling you into a close embrace. >"Wow. You really ARE cold. Let's do something about that." >Her voice is soothing, but still raspy. >She turns her head towards your neck and starts exhaling, her hot breath tickling against your upper torso. It's toasty. >"Give me your hands." >You raise them up in front of her and she warms them with her breath too. >"You can lie down if you want." >You feel yourself sinking down into her lap. She's surprisingly pretty warm, and uses her other wing to enclose the two of you in a makeshift cocoon. >From down here you can feel the gentle, unobtrusive rhythm of her heartbeat from inside her warm chest, which rises and falls against you. >You reach a hand up, one finger extended, and rub under her chin. >She blushes, stirring softly, but reclines back further into the sofa. >"That tickles." Her voice is cracked and a little tired-sounding. "Oh no. If I wanted to tickle you, you'd know about it." >"Don't you even think about it. I don't have to keep you warm, y'know? I could lock you outside and watch you turn into a popsicle." >The two of you laugh together. "Maybe we should make some cocoa. I think I have some." >"I'll help you!" >You momentarily leave your winged enclosure and both head sluggishly towards the kitchen.
