>"Oh Anon have I showed you my ultra super duper mango amazing special card?"
>Currently entertaining or rather being entertained by your friend Rarity
"No Rare you have not."
>Ever since Blueblood had his birthday he's been busy with his diplomatic training leaving you all alone 
>It's fine though you don't need anyone
>Not when you got your pal Rarity by your side
>"Anon."
>"Anon!"
>She keeps staring at you like she wants something
"Yes Rare what did you say? Sorry I kinda spaced out again."
>"I said if you want to see it you have to promise not to freak out."
"Rarity I promise."
>"No Anon you don't understand my special card is like super special so you have to promise not to go and shout to the world about it"
>"Rarity I swear by the sun and moon that I will not freak out. Ok?"
>"Hmmm," she gets up and looks you up and down before she nods her head to herself "Ok Anon I believe you."
>She turns around and digs through her Choco Channel designer bag or something you could never remember what it was actually called and you're too embarrassed to ask her
>After all you're the one who bought it for her 10th birthday,well you ordered somepony to buy her the best designer bag bits could buy
>"Oh Anon I know your going to love it! It's like Hyperspace Hyperwars but way more cool."
>"Oh here it is," she takes a box out and within that box are some cards,you notice a few have some sort of protector on them,"Tada here it is,look Anon."
>Sure enough there in a laminated uh thing sits a card that has a red eyed black dragon
"It's kind of pretty Rare."
>"Yes isn't it just,plus it's also super for real rare!" she clutches it and does a little dance
>You don't know much about YU-JYO but you know some cards are only in limited prints
 
>When you asked your Mother for a pack for your birthday she panicked and bought you a pack the next week where she proudly proclaimed she had contacted the company directly and asked them to make a deck specifically for you
>From what little Blueblood told you some of your cards are extremely rare as the company made them just for you,the rarest of which is your three blue eyed white dragons
>When you asked Blueblood why the company made them only for you he got a mad look on his face and said something about "public city" 
>You don't know where public city is but it must be a cool place if they made it for you
>But Blueblood doesn't want to play with YU-JYO with you,and what little time you share together is spent playing Hyperspace Hyperwars
>"See Anon I knew you'd be speechless I know I was too when I opened the booster pack and saw it!"
"Wow Rare yeah this is pretty Rare stuff get it?"

>But Rares herself doesn't seem to think so
>"That was a bad joke but I know your just so impressed by my rare card you couldn't think of anything so I'll let it go."
>You wouldn't say it's a rare card by any means,the upper range of uncommon perhaps,but not rare
>Although if you really squinted and lied to yourself you could say it's Rare,just barely though
>Still maybe she's right after all you don't exactly play a lot of games of YU-JYO yourself
>You don't play many games that require more than one pony really
>Any of the kids the maids and guards have don't like to be around you
>And when you're getting your lessons from Vice-Chancellor Neighsay you don't really get a chance to ask the few aristocratic classmates you have
>Even if you did they're more interested in talking about boring stuff like balls and galas and who wore what,the last time you asked one of them if they wanted to play Hyperspace Hyperwars, Golden Gavel told you that he did not waste time with "frivolously childish things" even though he's just a year older than you
 
>Sure Fleur yelled at him and seemed partially interested but you could tell she was just being polite since everyone used to make fun of her for being the shortest in class
>You thanked her and took off back to your room in your tower and since then you've accepted no pony must want to face your team of rare blue eyed white dragons they know are the only ones in existence
>That's kinda the reason you asked Rarity if she could teach you more about YU-JYO
"You know Rare I have a few cards of my own that are super rare too, would you like to see them?"
>"Sure Anon but my card is the rarest in the world,so try not to be jealous ok?"
"Rarity,look I was trying to be nice but your Red Eyes is only uncommon it's not the only one in existence,you know that right?"
>You always try to be careful when dealing with Rarity as she's ... unique, but she is really laying it on thick today
>"Of course I know it's the only one in existence you silly stallion,sure there are other Red Eyes Black Dragons but this one is the only one which is mine." she proudly proclaims 
>"Besides it has a reason it's special to me"
>Wow what an enlightened, um uh what's the word Blueblood uses again?
>Philosophy? That doesn't sound right but Rarity definitely said something super smart

>"HEY ANON!" Rarity belts at the top of her lungs
"Arg jeez Rare, what?" you fold your ears down, and give her a look
>"Oh heh heh sorry Anon I'll try to use my indoor voice, I was just thinking that the best way to show me your cards is as a surprise in a game of YU-JYO."
"Are you sure Rare? I mean these cards are so cool you sure you don't want a peak?"
>"I'm sure darling,the best way to learn something is to do it,and this way your card will be a surprise to me!" 
"Hmm I guess you're right Rare, ok let's do this."
>"Of course I'm right a lady is never wrong now prepare yourself it's time to duel!"
 
"Fine Rare but you should know you messed up challenging me to a children's card game was your biggest mistake"
>"I challenged you? You were the one who asked me to teach you more about YU-JYO in the first place Anon."
"You.. you have no proof of that besides what I said sounds cooler!"
>"Just play then Anon it's your move."
"Fine I'll start by summoning a Slothful Giant in attack position, your move Rare."
>I'll draw two new cards and then place Winged Pegasus guardian of the Everfree and attack your Giant."
"Heh first blood goes to you Rare,but I'm not out just yet I-
>"BLOOD oh goodness did I hit you Anon,do you need me to call a doctor, GUARDS!" she starts hyperventilate
"Ay yo ease up Rarity,I'm fine see, it's just a figure of speech,look alright no blood."
>Just then one of your guards burst through the door spear in hand "Prince Anon are you alright who,what,where and how do you want me to teach whoever hurt you a lesson?"
"No Lt. Shining I'm doing fine,false alarm,you're free to go."
>He visibly deflates "Are you sure mine Prince,I am combat trained and ready for any action,just say the word my lord."
"No Lieutenant that won't be necessary I'm quite alright you know me always clumsy and lead hooved,I was just playing a game of YU-JYO."
>He visibly recovers and says "Oh YU-JYO, yeah it's a good game I mean the strategy and tactics-" he is interrupted by the other guard Stalwart Shield "Ahem if that's all my lord we will resume our posts, unless you have need of us?"
"No that will be all, I'll shout if I need anything."
>With a quick snap to attention and a salute they return to their posts
>15ft away outside your door guarding the entrance to your room
>They're not a bad sort Lt. Shining's just excitable since most stallions don't get to see any fighting,and Sgt Shield is just a tired old man who has been guarding you since birth
 
>"Ah I'm sorry Anon I did it again didn't I?" Rarity say's in a sad tone
>Better nip that in the bud real quick before any water works start up
"Nah don't worry about it Rare,in fact I'm glad your first thought was to shout for help I think it's very kind of you to think of others"
>"Oh you don't mean that ohh," she starts twisting her hooves together "You're just saying that to make me feel better."
"Ok well ya got me but only because I'm going to win this game and I don't want you to feel bad afterwards. So don't go thinking it's because of anything else you got it?" and just to make sure she knows it's not about anything you stare at her blue eyes
>"Ok Anon I believe you so let's get back to the game ok?"
"Well since I'm the heir to the throne I really have nothing better to do..."
>As you look over your cards and try to remember what was happening you could swear you almost hear a very soft "thank you"

"Fine Rare how will you deal with this I summon Pinks the Funny Clown in attack position." 
>"What but that card barely has any attack?"
"How astute of you Ms.Rarity well, oi quit your giggling, as I was saying your Winged Guardian may have 1400 attack and my Pinks only 600 but if I combine it with magic card..."
>"Ah a magic card,of course"
"Exactly with the magic card 'laughing energy generator' I can triple my Pinks attack to 1800 and then, ATTACK your Guardian."
"Haha as you can see Rare I've learned the basics."
>"Yes Anon,but tell me can you handle the advance course I am about to give you?" Rarity responds in a cocky voice
>"I'll place a card face down in defense position and end my turn."
>What could Rarity be scheming with that facedown card? It may be a trap but Blueblood always says fortune favors the bold.
"I'll have Pinks destroy that card and end my turn, well Rare where's the advance course?"
>"Coming right up Anon I can feel it."
"Feel eh, it's going to take more than that to win Rare."
 
>"I have faith Anon, something you seem to lack, and my faith has rewarded me with 'Wonderbolt Captain' with an attack of 2300 she can easily defeat your Pinks."
>"I use my Captain to destroy Pinks and lay a facedown card and with that done it's your move Anon."
>Grr she's got you against the wall here,you just need something that can beat her Wonderbolt
>As you draw your next two cards you see it and allow yourself to smile
"Hm well it appears my faith has also rewarded me with this!"
"I summon my BLUE EYED WHITE DRAGON"
>You savor the look of awe and shock on Rarity's face
>You tried to warn her,but now she'll learn the hard way
"Surprised Rarity? You're not the only one with a special mango amazing rare card."
"This card has a whopping 3000 attack points, how will you defeat me now?"
"Faith or no faith Rare, your cards will fall victim to my superior ones! It's all about who has the best cards!"
"Now I'm afraid it's the retirement home for your Captain."
>"Not so fast Anon you activate my trap card 'Honesty is the Best Policy' it reduces your Blue Eyes' attack by 500 points"
"Hm no matter it's still strong enough to defeat your Cap-" 
>"I also summon the 'Magician Apprentice' and place another face down card, your go darling."
"Hmph silly Rarity your 'Magician Apprentice' may be a match for my now defanged dragon,
BUT WHAT ABOUT TWO OF MY BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGONS?!"
"Behold a second Blue Eyes!"
>"What?! Anon I thought you said that was a rare card?!"
"Hmph,it's the rarest in Equestria, and now my new Blue Eyes will attack your 'Magician Apprentice' and once that's done my other one will attack your Wonderbolt Captain, haha it's all over Rare!"
>"Not so fast Anon!"
"Frick, what is it now?"
>"I activate 'Moon Imprisonment' your Blue Eyes won't be able to act for the next three turns."
"Alright fine,in that case I'll just summon another Blue Eyes!"
>"Are you kidding me Anon,you have ANOTHER one of those cards? I mean who even does that?"
"The guy who's going to win using three Blue Eyed White Dragons, that's who!"
 
>"Jeez Anon I don't know about this,I mean how did you even get those cards in the first place?" 
"I am the crown prince and so am destined to wield the very best cards ponykind has ever created."
>"Even if they're cheap?"
"Especially if they're cheap Rare."
>"Those cards would break the meta Anon, you can't have a game with cards that overpowered!"
"Only I have Blue Eyes Dragons so it is fair."
>Rarity looks angry
>Mad cause bad
>"Anonymous dear no one else has played YU-JYO with you, have they?"Rarity inquires
"Blueblood did."
>"Yes well Blueblood is kinda of a nerd isn't he."
"L..Look I can't deny that but just play alright? It doesn't matter what you draw in the end though because with my Blue Eyes I am invincible!"
>"Oh don't worry Anon I just have to believe in the heart of the cards!"
"Cards don't need to circulate blood." you point out
>"It's something my grandpa told me! It means believe in yourself Anon!"
"Fine just get on with it."
>"I'll summon my rare card the Red Eyed Black Dragon with an attack strength of 2700 and attack your weakened Blue Eyes"
"Hmph a bad trade Rare that weakling wasn't able to do anything anyway,and now my Blue Eyes which wasn't imprisoned is free to destroy your Red Eyes."
"No hard feelings eh Rare?"
>"It's fine Anon after all turnabout is fair play."
"I thought it was turnaround?"
>"No,I'm pretty sure it was what I said, but enough of that are you finished with your turn Anon?
"Sure go ahead Rare not that it matters after your next turn it will be all over."
>"Do be sure not to count a lady out just yet, Anon ♥."
>"I just need to believe and the cards will do the rest."
"Yes well on my next turn my Blue Eyes will be able to attack and then it will be all over how will your cards save you then?"
>"You know Anon, did I ever tell you why my Red Eyes is important to me?"
"Hmph stalling for time Rare, fine I'll play along why?"
 
>"It was my grandpa who originally got me into YU-JYO he bought me a booster pack from Neighpan."
"I never knew you have a grandpa Rare."
>"He passed on a few years ago Anon,"
"Ah gee I'm sorry Rarity I didn't mean to-
>"It's fine I was just a little filly but I'll always remember the way he used to be passionate about everything."
>"Including a dumb card game that made his granddaughter smile."
"Rare that's some pretty heavy stuff you uh you alright?"
>"No Anon I don't think I am."
>"I know that I'm different from other ponies but I try not to let it get to me, especially when I know someone who has trouble even walking."
"Rarity..."
>"Before he passed on my grandpa gave me the Red Eyes Black Dragon as a gift for my 8th birthday, and you know what he said to me Anon?"
"No what did he say Rarity?"
>"That as long as I believe in myself I can accomplish anything."
>"And that is why you're going to lose Anon, because I believe in the heart of the cards!"
"There is no such thing Rarity! Faith alone can't let you do anything in this world, the only thing people respect is power!"
"Now just draw your last pathetic cards Rare so I can end this duel." 
>"My grandpa’s deck has no pathetic cards Anon, but it does contain the unstoppable Solar Queen!"
"Ahh!Ahhhh IMPOSSIBLE! No one has ever been able to summon her!"
>"That's right Anon I've assembled all five super special cards, all FIVE pieces of this puzzle, and now" she moves her hoof up and down 
>"Solar Queen OBLITERATE!"
"Impossible I LOST?!"
>"You play only for power Anon and that is why you lost, but if you put your heart into the game there is nothing you can't do."
"But... still how could I lose I had the best cards in Equestria!?"
>"Anon if you truly want to know, open your mind, I can teach you the heart of the cards Anon, but only if you believe."
