ninja racoons set up vines
beetles lying in wait as mines
bramble caltrop thorns
and dense bee swarms
spider's cobwebs
laden with pinecone grenades
butterfly brigades
and hedgehog barricades

turning her animal kindness 
into a weapon
they'll soon taste her 
sweet sugar-coated venom

wolverines sharpen their claws
chipmunks scout above in the tree tops
beavers slapping their tails 
sounding the war drums 
ants marching in solidarity
woodpeckers drilling threats
