>Be Anon >Pink horse thing just explained to you that you have been summoned by her to do her bidding >Apparently you are supposed to be a demon >That's... "...bullshit." >You exclaim >A loud grumble comes from the horse's stomach as she doubles over in pain >You ignore that, no need to embarrass her "Who's behind this stupid prank? It's not even a little convincing." >"I- I'm sorry, I have to use the bathroom!" She squeals and runs out the room "Hey wait!" >You try to go after her, but bump into an invisible barrier "What the fuck?" >Another lightning booms from somewhere really close >Must be a really bad storm going on out there >Be Flurry Heart >You are currently sitting on the toilet >The demon you summoned gave you the runs >It knows the Forbidden Tongue like it's nothing >Any normal creature would faint from embarrassment after using a single word let alone three >Demon wasn't even looked fazed by it >You have messed up big time >It is too powerful >You just hope the barrier can hold >After emptying your bowels, you quickly return to the basement where you summoned the demon >It is sitting on the floor within the barrier >"Thank goodness." >It looks up at you as you walk in "Okay, I'm getting sick of this prank so time for some real explanations. Where the hell am I?" >Ground shakes as the demon utters yet another forbidden word "What the hell is going on?!" >Quaking intensifies as he repeats it >"Please stop doing that!" You shout as you try to keep your balance "Doing what?" >"Using the Forbidden Tongue!" "Da fuck's that mean?" >Lightning booms in reaction to the demon's blasphemy >"That! Stop saying those things!" >It looks confused for a second before its expression changes to an understanding one "Oh, I see. This is another intervention for my excessive swearing. I said this before. This is how I talk. If you don't like it then fuck off!" >The word blasts you into the back wall with a thunderous sound "Oh shit, are you okay?" >Aching in your stomach returns as grumbling fills the room again >You cry as you slowly stumble towards the bathroom once again as you try to push through what is probably the worst pain anyone has ever felt >You can't control this demon, but you don't know how to send it back either >You aren't only in the worst pain ever, you are also in the biggest trouble ever >Be Flurry out of the toilet and walking hastily through castle hallways as running may be dangerous >You have but one choice >You have to ask for help from your mom >She will definitely ground you >Maybe even force you to sit in the corner >You shudder at the thought >But it is a lot better than having to deal with this horrible demon >You take a deep breath and prepare yourself before barging in through the throne room door "MOM I SUMMONED A DEMON AND NOW I CAN'T SEND IT BACK!" You shout nervously >Everyone in the court looks horrified at your outburst >"COURT DISMISSED!" Your mother announces. Everyone hurriedly shuffles out of the room as she quickly rushes to your side, "We will deal with your punishment later missy. Now take me to the demon!" >Be Anon >You are stubborn, but you are not stupid >This seems way to elaborate to be a prank >That being said, being summoned as a demon is downright ridiculous... right? >But you did realize that your 'Forbidden Words' caused strange things to happen >Maybe you really should give the horse a chance to explain herself before berating her with swears >As if on queue you hear hoof steps coming down the stairs >Before long you see the pink horse walk in with a bigger pink horse behind her "There you are, listen I-" >Your lips refuse to move as they are held by an invisible force >"You shall speak no more, demon!" Bigger pink horse exclaims. "I shall banish you to Tartarus before you do us any more harm!" >"Yeah mom! Get him! Don't let him speak!" Small pink horse yells with excitement >And here you were, trying to be friendly >Fuck this, whatever, you don't care >You flip them off as you give them a furious glare >Both horses suddenly start gasping for air as you they curl up on the ground holding their chests >You feel your lips being released from the invisible hold "Listen, I'm not trying to hurt you guys. I just didn't believe you when you said you summoned me." You explain. "But I think I do now, so can't we just talk this out." >"Spare us the lies you demon, you will be banished to Tartarus!" Bigger pink horse says as she starts to fumble to get back up on her fee- hooves >Yeah, you should go >You try to make a run for the stairs but once again the invisible barrier stops you "Oh fuck this!" Suddenly a lightning strikes the circle around you and you see a weird hue flicker before disappearing >You reach forward and touch nothing, the barrier isn't there anymore >This is your chance! >You rush for the stairs and run up as the bigger horse shouts something you don't care for >When you reach the top you realize you are in some kind of castle >It's quite beautiful really, but you have no time for sight seeing as two winged horses start flying towards you with spears in hand >You are pretty sure they are plastic, but you should not take any chances >You flip them off and continue running as they fall to the ground >You keep running until you find an exit as you flip off everyone and everything as you traverse through the castle >You can hear screams behind you, but they will be fine >Probably >You are out on the streets >More horses >Can't stop, gotta get out of here >You keep running through the streets as you keep flip off horses and until disappear into the snowy wasteland >Be bigger pink horse aka Princess Cadence >This is an absolute disaster >Not only did you let the demon escape, he gave boo-boos to hundreds of ponies as he made his escape >Sure, the boo-boos were temporary and not really serious, but those ponies still needed comforting and counseling >Right now ponies were running through the streets screaming and you didn't even have enough guards to comfort them because demon also dealt a huge blow to the guard corps >There has been no time worse than this in the history of the Crystal Empire except for that one time King Sombra tried to install mandatory 8 hour work days >You shudder at the thought, but you must focus on the situation at hand >It pains you to admit, but once again you will have to ask Canterlot's help >"Mom?" Flurry gets your attention, "What uh... What will be my punishment? Please don't give me the corner!" >You take a deep breath "We need to catch the demon first, then I'm afraid you must stand trial on the Crystal Tribunal" >She looks at you horrified, you can't blame her >Last Pony to be brought before the Tribunal was Sombra after all >You hold back your tears "I'm sorry, Flurry." You explain. "You are my daughter and I love you very much, but you brought upon a catastrophe and I cannot set the precedent by exempting you from justice." >"I understand." She sobs >You put your wing around her and pull her close >You hope the court will be lenient with her >Be Anon >It's cold >No really >It's numbingly cold >You have already lost the feeling in your toes >Tartarus doesn't really sound so bad right now >At least you'd not be cold there, right? >You did try to go back, but it's hard to navigate in this white abyss >You are not sure how long you've been walking >Man, it's cold >And you are getting tired >Man you'd kill for a hot chocolate and a blanket to snuggle >You make your way to a rock just a bit to the left of you >You sit down and lean against it's hard surface >You feel so tired >Darkness promises to take away all the cold and fatigue >It's probably fine to just rest your eyes for a few minutes >Yeah >You close your eyes >It's not so cold anymore >Be Queen Chrysalis >Former queen >Right now you are hiding deep inside a cave in the Icy Wastes >You have been trying to eek out a living by feeding on the love of some snow jackalopes you are protecting from ice wolves >However, since they are not sufficiently sentient, they can only give you barely enough love to stay alive and cast a limited amount of magic >But, they also bring you branches from frost willows so you can keep yourself warm >You hear small footsteps echoing in the cave >A jackalope is coming in a hurry >You expect to hear the footsteps of an ice wolf too, but you never do as the jackalope comes into view >It is unlike them to be in such a rush when they are not being chased by a predator >Maybe this one is desperate for pets? >Little creature hops in a circle before pulling on your leg and pointing outside "You want me to follow you?" You ask >It nods >You'd rather not spend your energy on this "Why?" >It plays dead for about five seconds before once again frantically pointing outside "You found someone? Here?" >It nods once again >Well, this seems worth checking out >You get up on your hooves and go after the rushing jackalope >You hope that whoever this is isn't too far away >Snow jackalopes may be resistant to this cold, but you aren't >Luckily you only had to walk about ten minutes before the jackalope starts digging into some snow next to a rock >You use a bit of magic to lift the snow >A strange creature emerges from under the pile >It definitely has the upper body of a minotaur, but the head doesn't really remind your of any species though it is hairless like the face of a centaur >You are not sure if you should waste the energy to drag it back to your cave >You are not even sure if it will survive the hypothermia >You are about to walk away before seeing the jackalope looking at you with big beady eyes "Fine you little devil. I will help the creature." >Jackalope jumps with glee as you wrap the creature in your magic and start dragging it towards your cave >Be Goth Flurry >You messed up big time >You will be put on court >THE COURT! >What if they put you in jail?! >You have been crying over this for some time >Your mascara is running down your cheeks >Your pillow has an imprint of your makeup too >You can't go to jail! >This can't be happening! >It's not like you hurt anyone! >Sure, you summoned a demon, but you can't be held responsible for the things he did! >You could be however held responsible for summoning him in the first place >You need a way out of this >... >An idea strikes you >If you are guilty for summoning a demon then you could find it and send it back >Those should equal out, right? >You need to go after him >Into the... Icy Wastes? >THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! >You'd freeze to de... to dea... to forever sleep! >It's too scary >Maybe the demon already fell into forever sleep >Yeah, but that wouldn't acquit you >You have to do this, you could at least say that you tried >You just need to be sure you are wearing enough clothes to protect you from the cold >You put on a shirt, a sweater, a jacket and a coat >You also take a cloak just in case >Oops, almost forgot to take a scarf, ear muffs and beanie >After putting on all that clothing, you teleport yourself to the outskirts of the city where the reports said demon went towards >You can't let your mom know about this >She's be so angry and disappointed >It's fine though, you'll be back in a jiffy >How hard could it be to find a six feet tall demon that wears a black suit in a tundra painted white with snow >You just need to remember restraining his hands this time too >Everything will be just fine! >Be... who are you? >You remember a name, but it's slipping >It was something with 'N' >Ah, that's right >Anon >You open your eyes >Where are you? >You can feel some heat coming from your left >It's hard to turn your head >There is some fire, that's where the heat is coming from >Fire is burning white with a blue hue >You feel like you are dreaming >There is also something touching you from your right >Struggling to turn your head, you come face to face with another creature with equine visage >Oh yeah, you are in a land of horses >"Hey, good to see you are coming to your senses." She talks. "Your clothes were wet, so I had to take them off. I lit a fire too, but I had to warm up the other half of your body myself." >She is saying stuff, but you are too captivated by her feline green eyes to pay attention >"I-I hope you don't consider this r-rape." She blushes "Your eyes are..." You mumble >"My eyes?" Her pupils dilate with curiosity. "Is there something wrong with them?" "...so pretty." You complete as you once again feel somnolence weight on you >Darkness once again takes you into its arms >Be Anon again >You are awakened by sounds of shouting and grunting >You quickly sit up and look around to see that weird black horse standing in front of you with her back turned to you >There is a growling sound coming from her direction >You lean to the side and take a peak >It's a snow white wolf with glowing ice blue eyes >Some of its fur is painted dark green >You look back at the horse to see her right front leg oozing with a dark green liquid >She's crying, but trying to look tough >She must've been hurt bad >Was she protecting you? >You need to help her >You try to get up, but find your legs to be completely drained of strength >Your movement gets the attention of the black horse >"You are awake? Good." She speaks. "I used too much magic dragging you back here, I can't deal with this wolf on my own." "I... can't get up either." You reply >She laughs wryly as you hear sounds of running coming from behind the wolf >"Then we will sleep here forever," she says as four more wolves pile into the room >"That's what I get for trying to be charitable for once in my miserable life" >Wolves slowly start closing the distance >There must be something you can do, right? >Swear words have power in this world, but they are chaotic and random >Can you maybe direct them? >You remember how you got out of that weird barrier earlier >You have to try >You look at the closest wolf and speak "Fuck you!" >A lightning bolt comes down from seemingly nowhere, striking the wolf >It goes down, smoke rising from its now lifeless body as smell of burnt hair and flesh reaches your nose >You turn your gaze to the one just behind it "Fuck you too!" >Once again, the wolf is struck down by lightning >The others take a few steps back before running off out the way they came from >Your ears are ringing from the sound of thunder, but you do somewhat hear that the black horse is talking >"You speak the Forbidden Tongue?!" She sounds taken aback >"Twice in a row non the less and yet you still stand!" You hear admiration and fear in her voice >She looks back at the wolves that are laying on the cave floor >"Did... did you put them to forever sleep?" >Weird way to put it, but You suppose it's a cultural thing "Don't worry, I don't think they can hurt anyone anymore" >She looks at you, horrified >"You didn't even hesitate! Don't you feel guilty?" >What? "Why would I? They were trying to kill us. Besides, they are just animals." She takes a few steps back away from you >"Ki-? You... What are you?" >You sigh "Apparently I'm supposed to be a demon?" You answer. "I didn't want to believe it at first, but if your world is this... pure then I might as well have been living in hell." >Ground shakes as you speak yet another curse word >"A demon?!" Black horse faints as she squeaks out the word "Ah shi- poop?" >You shudder as the adrenaline dies down >Oh yeah, you were naked >Wet clothes and all >Not good in this environment >You look around to see your suit near the fire >It's still hard to get up, but you are able to crawl on all four to reach them >Your knees hurt, but it's not too bad >Your clothes seem to have dried >However it is going to be hard to put them on while you can't stand up >You just put on your jacket for now >Then you remember, black horse was hurt >Unfortunately you do not have anything to disinfect the wound here, but you can help stop the bleeding >You rip one of the arms of your shirt and crawl over to her before tying it tightly around the bite >Her brows furrow, but she doesn't wake up >Your stomach growls >Hypothermia must've took quite a lot out of you >Unfortunately, there is nothing to eat >Your eyes fall upon the bodies of the two wolves you took out a few minutes ago >Okay, maybe there is >Ideally you would skin and clean them first, but you neither have the tools or the experience >So you are just gonna drop them on the fire and eat whatever the result is >Dragging the body of the wolf is harder than you though >Your arms were shaking, threatening to give up, as you pull the carcass on your lap and drag yourself backwards in a sitting position >Repeating the motion a few more times, you finally drop the wolf carcass into the white flames >Fire roars to life for a few seconds as it eats through the fur and dies down again >The smell is hideous >You are glad that the black horse is passed out for this >You turn the carcass over a few times, making sure it is sufficiently blackened on all sides before pulling it out of the fire >Good news is, the skin and meat has softened enough that you can rip off chunks with your hands >Bad news is, it tastes disgusting >Like bile and ammonia >Skin is completely charred and tasteless >Basically like eating charcoal >Still, you need it so you endure and keep eating, hoping you won't get sick from it >After you are done, you decide it is best to never have to do that again >Butchering an animal before eating matters, as it turns out >So you need a knife >Anything sharp would do really >You look around and see a flat stone near the edge of the cave wall just left of you >Lucky for you, it is broken off nicely and was not abraded by the enviroment >You crawl over, pick the stone up and begin rubbing it's broken edge against the stone floor >This is going to take a while, but you have the food and water to last >Even though you would have to go outside and bring in ice to melt >Your body is already starting to feel stronger >Be Flurry Heart >You have a problem >You don't know how to track ponies >So now you are pretty much wandering aimlessly >You are not cold, you have enough clothes on >Flip side is, it's hard to move around in them and they are kind of heavy >You also brought no food or water with you >That's okay though, you can just teleport back to your room >You just need to make sure you are not tiring yourself out to the point your teleportation range is not enough to get back to the city >Another less important problem is that the snow is bright enough that it is starting to make your eyes hurt and give you a headache >You close your eyes for a few moments before you hear rustling coming from your right >You look to see a white jackalope running down the hill >That's cute >Oh look, it's coming towards you! >Maybe it wants to play >After a few seconds a white wolf rushes down after the jackalope >Oh that's nice, they are playing together! >You beam at the display of playful friendship >You'd love to join them, but you need to preserve your energy, not to mention your clothes >Looks like the wolf is about to catch the jackalope >Your smile fades as the wolf bites down on the jackalope's spine >Violently shaking its head, the wolf trashes the jackalope before biting off a chunk of its abdomen >That is a severe boo-boo >You are pretty sure the jackalope will sleep forever >Your stomach churns as you feel today's lunch coming back up >You unleash the contents of your stomach on the pure white snow >Why would it do that to the poor jackalope?! >You regret coming here >You regret not helping the jackalope >The wolf howls, getting your attention >It is now looking at you, growling >You shudder at the promise of forever sleep in its vicious gaze >A short while later, you hear more rustling in the snow >More wolves start coming over the hill >They are slowly moving to your left and right >Are they surrounding you?! >It's time to get out of here >You try to teleport to your room, but you find yourself unable to >You are too scared and horrified to concentrate on long distance teleportation >You decide to take flight instead >You manage to get your self in the air, but you can feel your clothes weighting you down >You shouldn't stay in the air too long >Luckily, the wolves gave up once you took to the air >You just need to find a place to land and calm yourself before teleporting back >Coming here was a terrible idea >You look down to find a good spot to land, away from where you left the wolves >You realize your vision's getting blurry after about a minute >You blink for a few times, but that makes things worse >Being in the air, you cannot just rest your eyes for a few minutes >That would disorient you >But your eyes keep getting worse until it is mo longer possible for you to tell apart clouds from snow >You try to feel the gravity to navigate yourself, but that just makes things worse >You decide to just spread your wings and glide down slowly >After a while, you manage to reach the ground >The landing isn't graceful as you couldn't tell how high up you were until you touched the ground >You tumble a few times before coming to a rest >You start crying >Your eyes... >You cannot see! >Be Chrysalis >You are woken up by the sound of stone grinding on stone >You open your eyes and look around to see the demon sitting next to the fire, his jacket on his shoulders, with a blackened mass next to him >His back is turned to you so you cannot see what he is doing, but the sound is definitely coming from his direction >You try to get up only to stumble back down to a sitting position as your right front leg throbs with pain >Looking down to your leg as you groan in pain, you see that your leg is wrapped with a piece of cloth >Your blood seems to have seeped through the makeshift bandage >You feel like crying, but it doesn't really hurt when you are sitting down like this so you hold back the tears >"Hey, how is your leg?" >Oh no, he must've heard you >You look up to the demon, ready to defend yourself >"I didn't really have anything to treat the injury with, but I did manage to stop the bleeding." He explains. "The problem is that you were bitten by a wolf, so I am worried that it might get infected." "You... helped me?" You are surprised to hear that a demon tended to you >"Of course." He answers and laugh dryly. "You know, I do owe you my life." >Does that mean he won't hurt you because you helped him? >You'll take what you can at this point >You'd hate to be on the bad side of a creature that can and will kill with only a word >He looks at you expectantly, "So... Your leg?" >Oh yeah, right! "It doesn't hurt if I don't put any weight on it" You answer his question >"Good to hear, let me know if it starts to ache or swell." He says before returning to grinding the piece of stone he has in his hand >You get up again, without stepping on your injured leg, and limp towards him >That's when you see the bones sticking out of the blackened mass next to him, there are some around him as well >You pause for a second and look towards where the two wolves were previously laying in forever sleep >There is now only one wolf there >You feel drowsy for a moment, but you pull yourself together >He will not hurt you, just remember >You saved him, so he will not hurt you >He even helped you! >You take a deep breath and continue limping towards him >You sit next to him by the fire "So um... Are you a doctor then?" He looks up confused for a moment. "You know, how you fixed my leg." >You try to stop your voice from trembling as your gaze keeps sliding towards the half eaten wolf body >"Oh- Ah, no. I just know a little basic first aid." He answers as he continues to grind the stone he has in his hand >First aid? Is he mocking you? >This was a serious boo-boo that required professional attention and psychological counseling >Any unqualified hive worker would've passed out from the mere sight of such boo-boo >Your eyes fall upon the wolf's charred body again >Well, he is a demon "Can I ask what you are doing with that?" You point at the stone he's been grinding for some time now >"I am sharpening it." He answers before looking at your boo-boo. "We are gonna need something to cut off that leg if it gets infected." >You open your mouth, but suppress the scream as you tremble and stumble backwards >"I'm joking! It was a joke!" He exclaims. "I'm sorry if I scared you there. It was tasteless of me." "Heh... Heheh~" You fake a laugh >He says he was joking, but you get the sense that there was some truth to it >You did read some horror stories that were banned from consumption for causing PTSD where doctors had to do that >You really, REALLY hope your leg gets better >"I just figured a knife would be useful, you know." He explains. "For example, I could have used one to clean this wolf here before cooking it." >He points at the poor creature with his thumb as he laughs >"God, it tasted like shit." He looks worried for a second as he puts his hand over his mouth >"I'm really sorry I didn't mean to say that!" >Did he mean the forbidden word? What did it do anyway? Are you in danger? "Wh-why?! What does it do?" >He looks at you, his eyes narrowing >"Um... you were supposed to be running for the bathroom right about now?" He looks at you with curiosity. "Why aren't you?" "Oh. Well, you see I am a changeling." You explain. "We feed on love, so we don't need to go to the bathroom." >"You are kidding." He laughs. "Shit! You aren't kidding! Oh thank God! It was so hard to watch what I'm saying so you do not start shitting yourself." "Just be careful not to speak that word around the jackalopes, alright?" You warn. "I'd hate to see them suffer, especially since I need their love to survive." >You are still concerned about how he uses a forbidden word in casual conversation like that, but you are not gonna press your luck >"Jackalopes are a thing?" He queries before shrugging. "I suppose that's not that surprising considering the day I had." >There is one other thing that concerns you though "Um... Did you say something about cleaning t-that wolf?" You ask hesitantly >"Oh yeah, we were talking about that." He remembers. "You need to clean out the internal organs of an animal and drain their blood before eating them, right? If you don't, they taste horrible because all the waste and bodily secretions they have end up flavoring the meat." >He slaps the charred mass next to him. "That's what happened with this fella here. Of course, a knife could be useful in a lot of ways." He explains. "I could also wear his hide to protect myself from the cold. Though I have never skinned an animal before. I hope I don't fu- mess it up." >You are shaking and dripping with cold sweat from dread at this point >Not is he a demon, he is also a meat eater >Very knowledgeable on how to prepare his meals as well which scares you to no end >He must've eaten a lot of creatures >"Are you alright? You are sweating quite a lot." He looks down at your bandaged leg. "Are you sure your leg is okay?" "YES!" You shout before clearing your throat and getting your nerves under your control. "I mean yes, I am fine. No need to cut off my leg. Heheh~" You laugh nervously >He responds with a laugh of his own >"Alright, just let me know if you aren't feeling good." He says as he keeps grinding the stone in his hand. "An infection could be very dangerous. It could kill you." >You swallow a lump in your throat, holding back tears >You have started to think that it wouldn't be so bad if the elements had turned you to stone back then >Be Flurry Heart >You are done crying as you realize crying won't help >So now it's quiet >You hear nothing but the howling wind >Your eyes are closed since all you see is a white blur when you open them >You wish you had never come here, but it's too late for that now >You also used enough power by puking, flying and crying that you can no longer cast long distance teleportation >You feel absolutely pathetic >Will you go to forever sleep out here in the Icy Wastes? >Away from your family and what little friends you had? >Tears once again assault your eyes as their images come to mind "No!" You stomp your hoof >No more crying! >You need to focus on staying alive >You are hopeful that the blindness is not permenant since you can still register light >Your eyes also ache and burn when you open them which reminds you of how they felt when you read books late into the night under a candle's light to not get caught >Meaning they were probably very tired from looking at all the snow for hours >Granted, you never went blind from reading, but you have to hope for the best here >You just need time to rest your eyes >That being said, you cannot stay out in the open like this >If the wolves don't get you the cold eventually will even with all the clothing you are wearing >Luckily, you have read some books about how animals survive in the nature >You know how to dig a snow cave >It would be very taxing on you if you were to physically dig, but luckily you have more than enough magic to cast teleknesis >Still, it takes you about half an hour to dig a hole wide enough for you to fit through and a chamber wide enough for you to sleep in >You had to be very careful as to not collapse the tunnel or the dome too while digging >It was quite tiresome and blindness didn't help either, but you are finally done >Carefully, you make your way in >It is dark inside which would normally frighten you, but right now you feel safer >You curl up like a crescent >You might as well get some sleep while you wait for your sight to return >It'd also help you preserve energy >You really hope that when you wake up, your eyes will be better >After that you will need to find food >Those jackalopes must've been eating something to survive >Images of that one jackalope being tor apart assault your mind, but you push them away >It is uncomfortable enough laying on the snow without having nightmares about wolves >You just want to rest in peace >It is definitely starting to get warmer in the little cave >You congratulate yourself for being so smart as the sleep takes you >Bet your mother would be proud >Be Princess Cadence >You have been busy with making sure everything was back in order after the havoc demon caused >You called for help from CAntelot to apprehend the creature and banish it to Tartarus >They will be dispatching the Elements to the Crystal Empire tomorrow >You were also going to oversee the strengtening of defenses >However, your husband kindly reminded you that he was more than capable of handling that task and told you to be with Flurry >He is right, of course >She must be having a hard time with all of this >Unfortunately, there is a good chance she will be put on trial by the Crystal Tribunal >Being in such a big trouble would make even you cry >You feel bad that you cannot help her get out of this >Not even you have juristiction over the Tribunal >You just hope they do not send summons for Flurry, at least not until you apprehend the demon >While you have those thoughts running through your head, you reach the door of her room >Knocking on the door, you call out to her "Flurry, honey, can I come in?" You wait for a few seconds, but she doesn't answer which is hardly surprising >She has been in a weird phase lately with all that strange make up and rebellious attitude >You have hoped that it would pass so you were trying to be patient with her >Maybe if you had tried to stop her earlier, or at least tried to understand what she was doing, she wouldn't summon a literal demon >You feel like you have failed as a parent, but you cannot change the past >You must do what you can now and be there for her "Flurry, I just want to talk. I'm coming in, okay?" Once again, no answer >You slowly open the door and walk in >Looking around, you fail to spot her >She's not in her room >You wonder where she could be >Your eyes land on her Spitfire plushie >It is sitting on a piece of parchment on her study table >You had gotten her that when she was just a little filly >She was really into Wonderbolts back then >She doesn't really talk about them anymore, but judging by the posters on her walls you assume she still likes them >She was really sad when she heard news of Spitfire's retirement three years back >You walk to her table and telekinetically lift the plushie before you start reading the contents of the parchment >"To Mom and Dad," >"I have decided to catch the demon and bring it to justice myself. So please please please don't let the Crystal Tribunal punish me." >"I heard the demon escaped into the Icy Wastes, so that's where I'm headed. Yes, I dressed up really well." >"I will be back before you know it, but I left this note just in case so you don't worry about me if I'm late." >"See you in a bit. Sincerely," >"Flurry Heart." >You drop the plushie from your telekinetic grasp and rush out the door "SHINING! SHINIIIIIING!" >Be Anonymous >It took you like an entire day to properly sharpen the rock >Now though, it is sharp enough that if you rubbed your fingers against it even just a little it could cut you >You had to eat some stinky wolf meat in the process, but you feel much better now >So it wasn't that big of a hussle to put on your now dried suit >You went out for a few brief seconds to get some snow >Putting it into a small pothole next to the fire, you waited for it to melt and drank it from the floor >Not the most efficient, comfortable and hygenic way to do it, but it has to do for now >On the bright side, your need for refrigeration was handled >You just needed to bury the wolf carcasses in snow >Also a bathroom would be nice, but you make do by going outside for now >Inside the cave wasn't as cold as outside, but you estimated it to be around freezing temperatures still since parts of your body that was facing away from the fire had a tendency to get cold quickly >Following the smoke from the fire led you to a small hole on the side of the cave >It acted as a natural funnel for the smoke to escape, but it also sucked away the warm air >Warm air was then replaced by the air coming from the entrance of the cave, which cooled down the chamber >This required feeding the fire constantly, which resulted in excessive fuel consumption >This is when you realized you needed to prioritize finding a solution to this problem before cleaning and skinning the wolf >Because if you ran out of fuel, no hide would protect you from eventually freezing to death >There was quite the stack of small twigs and some bigger branches in the corner of the cave, but you had a hard time believing that would last you very long "Where do you get the wood?" You ask your equine companion who was watching you with jittery curiosity >"Oh, that? Jackalopes bring those in the eveningswhen they come here to rest for the night." She replies. "They should be here any minute now actually." >You look at the pile of branches in the corner "How many jackalopes are we talking about here?" >"A few hundred." She answers to your bewilderment "A few hundred?!" You repeat her words. "And you all sleep inside this cave? How do you even fit here?" >"I mean, it is a tight fit to be fair, but it keeps everyone warm so I don't need to get a fire going at night which saves me fuel >You nod >That makes sense, but... "Um, do you thing they would be afraid of me?" >If they didn't come here to sleep that could pose significant problems >"Don't worry about that, I can talk to them." She says. "They will be hesitant at first, but they shoud get used to you in time." "You can talk to animals?" You voice your curiosity >"Everyone can. It is another question whether they fully comprehend you or not." She answers. "They are not exactly intelligent in the way that you and I are." >That is interesting and warrants a lot of inquiry, but there are more important things right now "How do you get the fire started in the morning again?" You ask >"Just some fire magic, nothing fancy." >Right >Magic is a thing >Which makes you wonder... "What can you do with magic?" >"That is a very broad question. What do you need exactly?" "Can you shape stone?" >She looks thoughtful for a second >"It isn't impossible, but not with the power I have right now." She answers. "I'd need a lot more love than these jackalopes give me." >Which begs the question what classifies as love, but you keep that question to yourself for now "Okay, we can use mud then. How about that?" >She shrugs >"I can do that, no problem." She says looking at you curiously. "What are we doing?" "We will build a chimney." >Naturally, you needed some materials to buils a chimney >Namely mud and rocks about the size of your feet >Too big and you'd have a hard time lifting >Too small and you'd need more mud >Which turns out is hard to come by >Soil is frozen so you'd be spending a lot of time and energy to get even a small amount of dirt >However, if there are wolves and jackalopes around here there must be some water >You suspect a hotspring "Where do the jackalopes get water from?" You ask you equine friend >"There is a swamp consisting of hot water ponds about half an hour's distance from here." She answers >Turns out you were right about the hotspring "Can you like, fly us there?" You point to her wings >"Flying that far in weather this cold is a bad idea." She answers. "I almost lost my wings to frostbite last time I tried." >That's bad news, because you don't think you can walk there and come back >Even with the wolf pelt your toes would likely freeze and fall off >Building a fire and spending the night there is not an option either since you'd have no protection against the wind and snow >"Why do you want to get there anyway? Can't you just use snow for water?" She asks "I need the mud to build a chimney." You reply >"Why do we need a chimney anyway? Jackalopes bring enough wood to last." "The cave would be a lot warmer than it is now." >She looks thoughtful for a few seconds >"I could teleport there and teleport back here with the mud." She suggests >"I normally wouldn't since it'd use too much energy and leave me vulnerable against wolves, but I don't think I need to worry about that anymore." She glances at the charred wolf carcass "That is a great idea, that way the mud won't freeze on the way back here either." You exclaim. "Now we just need some rocks about this big." You gesture "Though it might be hard to find under the snow." You think aloud >"I can bring rocks as well, I'm sure jackalopes would know where to find some." She replies "Are you sure?" You ask worried. "It isn't too much right?" >"Too much? Don't insult me demon. I am the queen of changelings!" She declares >That earns her a raised eye brow and a curious look from you >"I-I mean I'll be fine." She stammers. "Heh- Heheh~" She laughs awkwardly as she shrinks back "Okay... If you say so." You are curious about the queen thing, but awkwardness is palpable so you decide to save it for when you know each other better >Speaking of which, you haven't even asked her name yet have you? "Damn, I forgot to-" Suddenly the pile of spare wood in the corner catches fire before you can finish your sentence "What the fuck?!" You rush towards them as thunder roars outside >You take off your jacket to beat the fire out >Before you can however, your equine friend's horn glows for a second and the fire dies down >"Please stop using the Forbidden Tongue." She requests "Forbidden Tongue? You mean I can't even say da-" You stop yourself and take a deep breath "Well, at least I know what it does now." You sigh. "I was meaning to ask you your name." >"I am Que-" She stops herself as her face falls. "I mean, it's Chrysalis." She replies. "Please don't use my name in the same sentence with Forbidden Words." >You laugh sheepishly "Yeah, my bad. I'm still getting used to this whole not using the Forbidden Tongue thing." You apologize. "Can I call you Chryssy?" >"Chryssy?!" She staggers. "I mean, I suppose?" "Great! My name is Anonymous, but you can call me Anon." She grins >Be Chrysalis >That demon actually gave you his name! What a fool! >Now you can command him as you wish! >You no longer have to be afraid of him! "Demon Anonymous, I command you to reclaim the Changeling Kingdom in my name and banish those who betrayed me!" You exclaim >"What? How strong do you think I am?" He objects. "And what do you mean you command me? You might be a queen or whatever, but I am not your subject. Not to mention we practiacally just met." >You stare at him bewildered >You are speechless >You spoke his name, right? >Did he give you a fake name?! >He must've! There is no way a demon can resist against its own name >Right? >"Anyway look." He speaks. "You've been acting weird so I feel like I should make some things clear." >"You might've been a queen or whatever, but here, we are just two souls trying to survive the day." He explains. >"It's clear that you are struggling with this whole thing, so if you want to talk I am here to listen. Just stop acting like a weirdo." >You look down at your hooves >There goes another chance for you to reclaim your title and more importantly dignity >You are so tired of being betrayed, abandoned, let down and disappointed >You are sick of living in this frozen wasteland >You feel tears welling up in your eyes >You stomp with your good hoof to stop yourself from crying, but tears just start streaming down your cheeks >Stop it! You can't be crying in front of a demon! >He's gonna laugh at and belittle you >"Hey hey! It's okay, it's alright." You feel his arms wrapping around your withers >It's been more than a decade since you lost your throne >Almost a decade here in the tundra >All this time, you never mourned what you had lost >You have always kept your mind busy with plotting a revenge or just getting through the day >Now all that you buried starts to erupt as you start sobbing in the arms of a demon >Be Anonymous >Chryssy fell asleep in your arms crying >You didn't get to talk to her a lot >You just pat her head and combed her mane as she wept herself to sleep >Maybe you can try talking to her tomorrow >True to her word, jackalopes came soon after >They were suspicious of you, but seeing Chrysalis sleep in your lap must've made them less skittish >They also cared little about the wolf carcasses >Soon, they were all around you and over you both >You would find it smothering if it wasn't for the fact that warmth was so comfortable >You must've been tired too because it didn't took you long to fall asleep in the pile of warm fur >When you woke up, you were placed next to the fire and Chrysalis, along with the jackalopes, was gone >You presumed she was gone to get the mud and stones you have discussed yesterday before her breakdown >What should you do then? >Your stomach grumbles and your eyes fall on the untouched wolf carcass >Might as well be done with it >You grab your stone knife and get to work >Be Flurry >The goth one >Not like there is another one >The snow cave, while a lot warmer than outside, was still cold >You were unable to sleep much >You also tried not to move much because every little movement was taking cold air in your clothes >Only going out every few hours to see if the sun was up, crying every time your leg muscles spasmed because of cold and lack of movement >You also had no dinner yesterday so you were starving >Your leg muscles spasm painfully as you try to get up once again >You grit your teeth as your joints crack after another long period of stillness >Tears run down your cheeks, but you are not full on crying anymore >You walk outside again and see that the sun has risen >You sigh in relief >Finally, you can go look for food >Spreading your wings and once again wince in pain >You really hate the tundra >After a few seconds of stretching your wings, you take flight towards where you came the other day >A few minutes later you feel your wings start to ache from the cold >Luckily, you can see some white trees in and around some ponds from up here >That being said, you had read about frostbite and you'd rather not lose you wings >Trees are far enough away that you are worried about the possibility >You decide to land and walk the rest of the way there >Afterall, you have time >Going on foot was more taxing than you have expected >Snow was resisting your every step and the callous wind was blowing it in your eyes >About half an hours trek got you to your destination >Your legs were screaming at you to take a break >Luckily, there was little snow around here >As you stepped onto the ground however, you realized you were in a mire >Sticky slime was pulling down your hooves, forcing you to exert more energy to walk around >You slowly make your way towards a small pond formed by a spring >You could even see the water bubbling not too far away >The air was covered in a thick mist rising from numerous springs all around the bog >Pale blue willow trees were growing everywhere along with bluish white colored reeds and cattails >There were also some white lotus plants and water lilies with pale purple and blue flowers >You reach the water and take a sip >It was very warm and had a somewhat bitter taste that made your face wrinkle up >You almost started pouting >However, that was your only source of water so you braced yourself and took another sip "Bleh!" >You continue until your thirst is satisfied before taking a bite out of strange looking reeds growing nearby >They taste just like the water >You wanna cry >You sniffle a few times but manage to keep the tears back and continue eating the bitter plant >This was your first time eating plants right out the ground >Until now you were always served some sort of processed food >You can't say you liked the new experience >You hear rustling just across the pond and a jackalope jumps out from among the reeds before it starts drinking from the pond >Then you hear something bigger approaching >It must be another wolf! >You prepare a your magic to lift the jackalope over just as a black pony steps into view >"Don't leave me behind, I don't want to get lost in the swamp." She speaks to the jackalope >You can see her horn glow as she carries around rocks about the size of a foal >Her horn is crooked and misshapen >You can see holes in her legs >She has cyan membranous wings that match her mane and tail >A moment later, her green draconic eyes turns toward you >She looks at you for a few moments in surprise >"What is a crystal pony doing in the Icy Wastes?" She asks, making no attempt to hide her curiosity and bewilderment "I um..." >You hesitate to tell her, but you can't possibly hope to find the demon on your own in this endless white plain >She looks friendly enough "I am looking for a demon." You reply >"A demon?" Her pupils dilate as her brows furrow ever so slightly. "Why are you looking for that demon?" >You feel a chill run down your spine >You have seen those eyes before >They were the eyes of those wolves that tore apart the poor jackalope yesterday >They were the same eyes that were fixed on you as they surrounded you to finish you off >Eyes of a predator looking at its prey "It's just that I was worried about it." You try to fake a shaky smile as you lie. "You know it's quite dangerous out here." >"Liar!" She hisses as she drops the rocks she was carrying. "You ponies are always the same! Always preaching friendship and tolerance, but never tolerating anything different from you!" >Her horn glows and a heap of mud is flung towards you >You duck just in time to avoid getting hit and respond in kind >You hit her square in the face "Hah! I win!" You celebrate briefly as you also get hit in the face with mud "Hey! That's not fair! You got hit! You can't throw mud anymore!" You object >"Your silly rules have no power here!" She shouts as she continues her assault >You try to run, but mud is too sticky >You got hit a few more times before managing to take flight >Mud balls keep coming however >She's crazy! >You are pretty sure this is a warcrime, but you have to stop her somehow >You fly towards her and tackle her to the ground >She gets on top of you somehow and smears your face with a hoofful of mud >You grab some and with your right hoof and push it into her face as well >Both of you are rolling around in the mud screaming like crazy mares as you get slowly but surely covered in it >After about a minute of this, you are both completely soaked in mud and bog water >Which proves to be very bad as you feel yourself getting exceedingly cold >Also, you both have overexerted yourselves and trying to catch your breath as the cold wind saps the heat right out of your bones >You decide that it is not worth it to keep fighting "Listen. I just wanted to eat some stuff and drink a bit of water." You explain. "And you know what? You are right. I'll leave you and the demon be. I will just teleport away as soon as I gather some power. How does that sound?" >She looks at you with suspicion for a few seconds, but finally relaxes her posture >"You better keep your word, princess!" She spits out with distaste. "If I see you here again, you will face the true wrath of a queen!" >With that, she lifts up the rocks she was carrying, along with a heap of mud and teleports away >You on the other hand are too frozen in place with a realization her words brought >A queen! She called herself a queen! >You remember the history lessons Aunty Twilight taught you about >Then you remember the stone statue of a queen >She looked just like the statue! >Yet she was here, right in front of your eyes just moments ago >Did she escape somehow? Did she break free? >Regardless, you are lucky she just let you go with a few mud balls to your face >You have to let your mom know >You have to let everybody know that the demon has joined forces with the former queen of the changelings, Chrysalis >Be Chrysalis about an hour earlier >You just woke up to the movement of hundreds of little feet on and around you >You open your eyes to realize you have your face buried into Anonymous' chest >He must've been very tired, unsurprisingly, because he didn't even come close to waking up as you clumsily wiggle out of his embrace >Last night was truly embarassing >You cuddled with someone you barely know and cried yourself to sleep >Not to mention that someone was a demon >Definitely not befitting of a queen >You do feel a lot better though >Not that you would admit that to anyone >You also don't want to talk about it right now, so you decide to just leave to get the mud and stones he said he needed before he wakes up >You should however get him closer to the fire or he might get cold and sick >Using telekinesis to carry him closer, you realize you do not feel drained of energy >You feel like you can do this for a while >You feel powerful >Not as powerful as you when had the admiration of the hive, but more powerful than you have felt in years >Could it be that this creature has provided you with actual genuine love? >But, he's a demon >That's impossible, right? >You use more telekinesis to carry some wood before using pyromancy to lit them >You look at his sleeping form next to the fire for a few seconds >Maybe it's not impossible >What do you know about demons anyway apart from rumors? >Maybe you can talk about him and his kind sometime >Right now though, you have things to do >With the power you accumulated thanks to him, you just teleport yourself to the swamp >However, turns out it's kind of difficult to find rocks in the mud >After walking aimlessly around the bog for about half an hour, you come across a jackalope and enlist its help >It was a lot easier to find what you needed with its guidence >You hope that what you collected is enough, you'd hate to make Anonymous sad >You must've been spaced out there for a second, because you lost sight of your liggle guide >Luckily, a little rustling in the reeds lets you know where it is >You follow after the little guy "Don't leave me behind, I don't want to get lost in the swamp." You say to the jackalope that's drinking from a small pond >Your eyes move up as you feel something looking at you and you come face to face with a crystal pony >Her body is covered in a thick, pink parka >You can see from her exposed face that she is also pink >Some of her mane sticks out from under her chin, colored purple and turquise with blacks stripes >Her big turquise eyes are fixed on yours >You figure she was crying at some point since you can see her mascara had ran down her cheeks >She looks familiar somehow >Quite surprising since you haven't seen anypony in the tundra in the entire time you spent here until the demon came along >It's been literally years "What is a crystal pony doing in the Icy Wastes?" You ask with bewilderment >"I um..." >She looks as surprised as you are as she stammers >"I am looking for a demon." She finally responds >You don't like this >You doubt she has the best intentions with regards to Anonymous >"A demon?" Still, you will give her a chance to explain herself. "Why are you looking for that demon?" >She shrinks back with fear in her eyes >"It's just that I was worried about it." She says. "You know it's quite dangerous out here." >The fool thinks she can lie to a changeling >To the queen of them nontheless "Liar!" You exclaim as you release your hold over thee rocks you were carrying. "You ponies are always the same! Always preaching friendship and tolerance, but never tolerating anything different from you!" >You launch a mudball towards her face, but she is quick to get out of the way and respond >You are hit by her mudball >"Hah! I win!" She boasts, but you cannot be asked to follow any rules of engagement >Anonymous might be your ticket out of here >You have to protect him >Not to mention, you learned all to well that out in the wilderness, there are no rules of engagement >You throw another mudball that hits her in the face this time >"Hey! That's not fair! You got hit! You can't throw mud anymore!" She whines "Your silly rules have no power here!" You declare as you pepper her with more mudballs >She tries to move out of the way, but slimy ground is slowing her down >Then you see it >Wings >She takes flight! >She is an alicorn! >Memories of your first encounter with one of them floods your mind >Princess Mi Amore Cadenza >She looks so much like her! >Could it be? >No, she must be her offspring >Anger boils inside you >Why does she get to be happy and even have an heir while you languish out here alone and forgotten? >You throw mudball after mudball, unloading your anger and frustration alongside them >She then tackles you to the ground, the runt >It's sticky and hard to move around in the mud >Not to mention cold >But you will not lose to her, not again! >After a few minutes however, you anger dims down as you get increasingly cold and tired >If this continues, you may not be able to teleport back to the cave with what you gathered >Regardless, you will not back down! >"Listen. I just wanted to eat some stuff and drink a bit of water." She speaks out in a brief moment of calm. "And you know what? You are right. I'll leave you and the demon be. I will just teleport away as soon as I gather some power. How does that sound?" >You hesitate >Is it wise to let her go back to her mother? >Even if you did not let her go, what will you do with her? >You think back to what Anonymous did to the wolves >There is no way you could do that >Then what? >It's not like you can keep her imprisoned here forever >It's just a matter of time until the rest of the Crystal Empire comes looking for her >She didn't seem like she was lying this time >But you know better than to just take her word for it >You will just have to prepare for the worst >You relax your tensed up muscles >This fight will end here, but you will not let her go without a warning "You better keep your word, princess!" You advise her. "If I see you here again, you will face the true wrath of a queen!" >You lift up the rocks you had dropped and grab some mud before teleporting back to the cave >You have to let Anonymous know what happened >You have to prepare for what might come
