The saddened whimpers of another mare can be heard near the bodies of the soldier couple. >''Oh no...'' >If she's smart, she'll know you're still inside and she'll want to force you out of the room with a grenade, where her weapon could very well be waiting for you >A near thud indicates she laid down her weight and is probably moving the bodies of her allies to use them as shields >You can hear her breathing, calm, collected, steady, most likely to not disturb the aim of her rifle >She is close, one corner lap away. You can hear her pulling something out of a back pocket >No unicorn glowing noise was heard, which indicates she'll have to use one of her hooves to throw it into the room. >You're close enough to rush in and shoot her. You'll do it as soon as she unpins it. >... >...an ignition is heard, the sound of a match getting lit. >This is the moment you get up and rush around the corner, with your weapon aiming low. >Chaos unfolds, and you try your best to hit the pegasus mare while spraying down what remains of your magazine. >She fires a single shot from her rifle, loud enough to drown the sound of your bullets flying out of the chamber. >The bullet travels with enough force to pierce your left hindleg, making you collapse to the floor in pain. >Looking up again, however, you now see three corpses lying together on the floor. >Slowly, you reach for your health kit in your backpack while examining your leg. >The bullet went right through, a hole the size of a coin was formed as a result. >You pull out your basic materials to prevent the worse. >Hydrogen peroxide, for the infection. >A tourniquet, to stop the bleeding. >Several cotton swabs and a bandage, to cover it up. >...while you try your best to tolerate the pain, you take another look at the lives you took. >Young unicorn, dark ocean mane, light grey coat stained with blood. >From behind, bullet holes are most notable in his neck. A double-barrel shotgun is buried by the colt's face. >Young pegasus mare, golden mane, orange coat. >Met a similar fate as her peer, a pair of googles is hanging from her necklace. >Young pegasus mare, silver mane, blue coat. >Barely recognizable due to the bullet holes all over her face, she held a stick of unlid dynamite with one hoof and her sniping rifle with the other. >All wearing the same dark green uniform. All as young as you are. >But to you, a choice is what separates an adult from a corpse. >You reach for their uniforms, still unable to stand up due to your injury. >Unless they deserted, these soldiers had orders to follow and you're gonna look for them. >Their pockets reveal all manner of personal treasures. >Family photographs. >Relationship photographs. >Letters containing promises that will now, never be fulfilled. >And a map, in which the building you're on is marked with a red X >And so are the adjacent buildings. >Signs are placed around the map, routes to take, tactics to make. >You can only guess that, judging by the TNT and the smell of gunpowder, they wanted to set up this building as a trap. >Surround the enemy and force it to take this area that is most definitely not booby-trapped. >Unfortunately you don't know how many squads they send in to complete their mission. >Yours is to scout, theirs is to sabotage. >Yet, you're still alive. >As of now your tears are dry. >What matters now is a plan of action. You know what the enemy wants, and these ponies aren't the last ones you'll see today. >Hopefully, this won't be your last day alive. >Your gun begins to shake on its own. >The mare's telescope. >The knife at the end of her rifle. >And the bullets inside the stallion are causing his body to spams lightly on the floor. >A magnetic field, to which your machine gun is pointing directly at. >It's coming from the street. >You decide to stand up and try your best to go upstairs. >Peaking through the window, you can barely make out the shape of the street due to the immense fog covering the city. >You reach for the staircase and begin to ascend. >Inmediatly, a single yell is heard from the streets >''THAT BUILDING! MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT!'' >You hasten your pace as best as you can, by now you have reached the entrance of the first floor. >Muffled voices are heard in the floor below. >''...it's the sabotage squad!'' >Silence, then another female speaks up >''Heads up then. You two, clear the building.'' >In that moment, you know you have to act quickly. >Opening the windows of the floor would make way for the fog of the city into the room, but you don't know if you have enough time to do that. >Hearing hoofsteps coming from the staircase only confirms this notion further. >You can reach the clothing drawer and maybe hide in it until they go away. >But if they take one look inside then it's game over. >One of the doors is labelled as ''Radio'', which could at least provide your allies a call for support before your last moments. >Unless of course, that radio was to be nonfunctional. >Lastly, you have a butterfly knife in your pocket, which is probably what gave you away in the magnetic field. >You're not good at throwing knives, but a mare of your size should be able to tackle the average stallion to the ground. >The door to the radio room is open, and you make it just in time when you hear the hoofsteps stop by at the hallway entrance.
