Growin' Apples (Applejack, Apple Bloom, Muscle Growth, BE)

Expiry: Never

  1. You are Anonymous, a stranger from another world who has somehow ended up in humanized Equestria.
  2.
  3. Right now you're working at Sweet Apple Acres while you save up to build a Hawaiian shaved ice stand in town.
  4.
  5. Seriously, you are going to make so much money.
  6.
  7. While loading some apples in the barn one morning you hear some clanging and clanking coming from behind the building. You peak out and see Apple Bloom laying on a beat up old bench press stand busting out some reps.
  8.
  9. She doesn't have a lot of weight on the bar but it's an impressive amount for how young and skinny she is. The girl continues her routine and you go back to work, a nagging concern in the back of your mind.
  10.
  11. Later that day Applejack joins you in the field with a basket full of food and you join her in the shade to have lunch.
  12.
  13. Seriously, what a nice boss.
  14.
  15. While you're eating you talk about all sorts of things. Applejack likes to hear stories from your homeworld. She makes for a great audience because she pays rapt attention and often laughs at your tales, even when you suspect they weren't particularly funny.
  16.
  17. Today, though, you voice your worries that her younger sister is lifting way too much weight without a spotter.
  18.
  19. The farmer rolls her eyes and sighs, "That girl! I never should have told her about that."
  20.
  21. You ask what she's referring to.
  22.
  23. "Aw, it's somethin' to do with our magic. See, we're in the Earth Tribe, ya know? Anyway, earth-magic gives us more strength than other tribes. See?"
  24.
  25. Your boss flexes her right arm and the rolled up sleeve of her button-down shirt creaks ominously as the fabric strains against her swelling bicep. Applejack is a gorgeous woman and has a stunning figure with broad hips and a round, toned butt, narrow waist, and an absolutely astounding pair of breasts that make themselves known even through the thick shirts she wears.
  26.
  27. Honestly, you're grateful that she dresses conservatively because if she ever decided to unleash her massive sweater puppies it would probably be the death of you. But despite her ultra-feminine figure the farm girl also sports enough muscle to put most body builders to shame and on her tall frame—she's several inches taller than you—it makes for a very intimidating presence. Fortunately, she's a real sweetheart and you've always gotten along pretty well with her.
  28.
  29. "Anywho," she interrupts your mental ogling, "There's this thing where sometimes we can tap into our magic directly. Like, say, I get crazy desperate to move somethin'. Well our magic can sometimes give us this burst of strength."
  30.
  31. You nod and tell her about mothers back on Earth who are able to lift a whole car off a trapped child.
  32.
  33. "Yup," she agrees, "But when an earth-blood does it they always end up with a bit more muscle than they had before. Sometimes a LOT more muscle."
  34.
  35. She lets that last bit sink in for a moment and it suddenly occurs to you what Apple Bloom was trying to do earlier.
  36.
  37. Applejack sees the realization dawn on your face, "Yeah, that girl was probably pushin' herself until she gave out and then trickin' her body into savin' her. Not the best way to do it, it's kind o' dumb to be honest, but it's faster than doin' it the old fashioned way."
  38.
  39. You ask, somewhat uncomfortably, why Apple Bloom would suddenly feel the need to get ripped.
  40.
  41. "Aww, she's goin' on a class trip to the beach. I'll bet she wants to look good in a swimsuit."
  42.
  43. You nod like you understand, then hesitantly ask if she really thinks that the muscular look is what young women are going for these days. Applejack looks puzzled for a moment, then she starts laughing.
  44.
  45. "Ha ha ha! Oh, I guarantee Bloom ain't workin' out for the muscle. I'll bet the farm that she's after a bigger chest!"
  46.
  47. You frown in confusion.
  48.
  49. Of course, you agree, working out gets you bigger pectoral muscles which gives you a bigger chest and all that. AJ gives you a weird look, then busts out laughing again.
  50.
  51. "No, no," she guffaws, "I mean the other kind'a chest"
  52.
  53. She raises her hands to her midsection and pantomimes a cupping motion under her own impressive front. You can only give her a mystified look.
  54.
  55. "You don't know?" Applejack asks, then mutters to herself, "Of course you don't know, what am I thinkin'?"
  56.
  57. She adopts a patient tone, "When we get bigger, like muscles and such, our uhh..." she looks down at herself while laying one hand on her bosom and and another on her hip, "They get bigger too."
  58.
  59. You shake your head, certain that your boss is messing with you. Surely the opposite is true, you ask.
  60.
  61. "Well sure, if you're a pegasus woman or a unicorn. They burn all that fat. Why do ya think Rainbow Dash is so slim? But with earth-women it's different. Our magic just makes us bigger all over. Somethin' about representin' the forces of fertility or somethin'. It's kinda weird, to be honest."
  62.
  63. AJ leans back and stretches her arms above her head and you briefly enjoy the best view on the farm.
  64.
  65. Then she frown a little, "It's kind of a pain too, when it happens. Like when..."
  66.
  67. She stops herself suddenly and glances at you. Sensing her reluctance you tell her that she doesn't have to go on if she doesn't want to.
  68.
  69. "No, it's just... I've never told this story to anyone outside the family. Back when I was a kid I had just gotten back from stayin' with my relatives in Manehatten. I was a scrawny little runt and I figured I was gonna do my folks proud and be the best farmer ever."
  70.
  71. Her eyes glisten as she talks about her late parents.
  72.
  73. "Well I had a hard time keepin' up with Big Mac. Funny thing, he wasn't even all that big at the time. But like I said, I was a real runt. Anyway, I was out in the pig pens one day when I hear this creakin' and crackin' and all of a sudden the old feed barn starts crashin' down! I run over to the rubble to see what happened and I hear somethin' moanin'. Turns out Mac had been in the barn!
  74.
  75. "I tried callin' out to him but he was knocked half silly. And no one else was around and I was scared to death that I was gonna loose another family member so I just started diggin' and pullin' off lumber. It wasn't that bad until I got to this big old timber that was the main thing pinnin' Mac down. I swear half the roof was attached to it and it looked like it was made out of a whole tree by itself.
  76.
  77. "When I tried to move it the thing wouldn't budge; that beam was solid as a mountain. Then Mac started wheezin' like he was about to run our of air and I was thinkin' he was really gonna die and I think I kind of went crazy 'cause I crawled down under that beam and started pushin' and pushin'.
  78.
  79. "I was cryin' so hard that I didn't even notice when the beam actually started movin'! Afore I knew it I'm standin' up strait holdin' half a ton of lumber over my head and Granny Smith's draggin' Mac to safety. Heh. Lucky I didn't crush myself when I dropped it."
  80.
  81. Applejack pauses for a moment, looking down at her lap and flexing her hands as though she can feel the rough wood against her palms.
  82.
  83. "I followed Granny to the house and she called the ambulance. Then she takes one look at me and gets this funny look on her face. She tells me to go get get a couple of blankets, so I do. She put one on Mac and then she drapes one around me. Which was weird, because I wasn't cold at all.
  84.
  85. "And I thought my mind was playing tricks on me because even when I was sittin' down Granny Smith looked different all of a sudden. Like she had shrunk. Mac did too for that matter.
  86.
  87. "When the ambulance arrived they didn't have room for us so Granny told 'em we'd be along shortly. I was chompin' at the bit to rush after 'em but Granny told me we had to do some things first.
  88.
  89. "She called a babysitter to watch Bloom and then she took me to her room and asked me how I felt. 'Fine,' I said. Then she asks me if I'm dizzy or anything and I'm wonderin' why she's fussin' over me so much. Then she tells me that sometimes, when an earth-blood grows a lot, it can cause problems.
  90.
  91. "At this point I don't know what she's talkin' about so she tells me to stand in front of the mirror and she takes the blanket offa me.
  92.
  93. "I've never been so surprised in all my life! I didn't know who that was standin' in the mirror but then I realized it was me. I had been a head shorter than Granny Smith that mornin' but now all of a sudden I was taller'n her and my clothes were all ripped to shreds because I'd gotten so big. I wasn't a scrawny little beanpole anymore lemme tell ya!"
  94.
  95. Applejack laughs bitterly, then continues, "I was pretty much tall as any adult, and I had muscles all over but kinda lean, like Rainbow Dash? So Granny brings me some clothes and they're a little big but she tells me I'll grow into 'em. And one of the things is a... A bra. And it was really weird ya know? I couldn't imagine needin' one of those but now I— I did."
  96.
  97. Applejack is blushing hard at this point but you don't interrupt. She seems determined to tell you the whole story and so you sit there and give her a sympathetic ear.
  98.
  99. She frowns a little, "It wasn't just my muscles that got bigger. I looked different. Standin' there in those new clothes I looked way more grown up. I mean, my face was still pretty much the same but it was a little different too. Anyway, Granny, bless her heart, told me we had to get a move on and we high tailed it over to the hospital. I pretty much forgot about everything else worryin' if Mac was alright.
  100.
  101. "The doctors told us he had a few cracked ribs but other than that he was okay. I don't think I've ever been more relieved. We went to go see him, but we was sleepin'. The nurses said we could come back bright and early the next day so we headed home.
  102.
  103. "By that time I was super hungry and Granny told me it was 'cause I'd grown so much. So she fixed me a mess of food and made me go to bed after that. I was sure I was gonna lie awake all night worryin' about Mac but of course I went strait to sleep.
  104.
  105. "So I wake up the next morning and I roll out of bed and start grabbin' clothes, but when I try to put 'em on they don't fit. The pants, the shirt, nothin' fits. Granny takes one look at me and tells me that's what she was afraid of and goes to get me more clothes. I look in the mirror and I've gotten way, way bigger. Like half a foot taller and just, well," she looks down at her bosom, "Bigger!"
  106.
  107. "Granny gets me into some new britches and we skedaddle to see Mac. He was doin' fine, though he was a might sore! We stayed there all mornin'. Finally we go to leave and one of the nurses takes me aside and she says, 'Now don't you worry, you're little brother will be just fine.' And then she tells me some other stuff like I'm the one that's takin' care of him or somethin'!
  108.
  109. "And that's when it hit me. All day folks had been treatin' me different. Nobody had been talkin' down to me like I was a little girl or tryin' to hide things from me. I'd ask a question and they'd give me a strait answer.
  110.
  111. "Then I thought, 'Well of course! None of these folks know me. And now I'm taller than all of them except the doctor.'
  112.
  113. "I didn't know how to feel about it, really. I'm still thinkin' of myself like I'm this little kid but all these adults are lookin' at me and all they see is a grown woman. One of the nurses even asked me if I was in college!"
  114.
  115. You tell Applejack that you can't begin to imagine how weird that all must have been.
  116.
  117. "Ah, it wasn't that bad," she chuckles, "I got my wish. I wanted to help run the farm and now I was sure big enough to do it!
  118.
  119. "Actually, I grew some more over the next day or two. I got a little taller but mostly I just -uh- filled out. Granny ended up givin' me some of my momma's old clothes and when I put those on, well, I really felt like an adult, y'know? Like it was up to me to take care of everything and everybody. Wasn't till years later that Twilight helped me get over that feelin'."
  120.
  121. This time you both chuckle as you recall her story about a certain disastrous Apple Bucking Season.
  122.
  123. "By the time Mac got home from the hospital I was about a foot taller than him. He'd been loopy from the painkillers so that was the first time he'd gotten a good look at me since after the accident. You should have seen the look on his face! Ha! Took him a couple more years before he finally outgrew me."
  124.
  125. Applejack leans back and gives a sigh. Then she looks your way and gives you a sheepish look.
  126.
  127. "Whew! Sorry to go on like that. I just... Well, I thought..."
  128.
  129. Not used to seeing your boss at a loss for words you tell her that you appreciate her story. It really helps you understand your new home better. And it help you understand her better too.
  130.
  131. Applejack blushes and looks down at her lap. For a six and a half foot amazon she looks completely adorable.
  132.
  133. You look up into the sky and with a heavy groan, you suppose that you ought to get back to work. As you stand up you tell your friend that if she ever misses being a kid to let you know because you have all kinds of childish games from Earth that you'd be happy to teach her.
  134.
  135. To your surprise she gets a sly look on her face.
  136.
  137. "I might just do that sometime."
  138.
  139. ...
  140.
  141. The next morning you are loading more apples in the barn when you again hear the clanking of metal on metal. Looking thought a gap in the wall you see Apple Bloom at it again.
  142.
  143. The amount of weight on the bar is much greater than it was the day before and you know for sure that the girl is trying to force herself to reach the point of failure.
  144.
  145. She tries another bench press but before the bar is even half way up Apple Bloom starts to tremble. You watch in horror as the bar starts to sink down and crush her chest.
  146.
  147. You're about to rush out to her aid, when you hear her grunt and then shout like she's angry. Slowly, painfully, the bar starts to lift again. Inch by inch the weight ascends until, finally, she is able to rack it.
  148.
  149. You breath a sigh of relief and consider going out to scold her when the girl suddenly sits up and gives a loud Whoop! of triumph.
  150.
  151. She stands up and immediately you can see that she looks different. He arms and legs aren't quite so skinny anymore. And is it your imagination or does the teen look taller too?
  152.
  153. Apple Bloom cinches her loose t-shirt and you see that her torso is a bit different too. Her breasts aren't that big but those are definitely not the mosquito-bites that you are used to seeing on her.
  154.
  155. The somewhat larger girl pumps her fist and bounds off to the main house.
  156.
  157. You stand there for a moment, stunned. You had thought unicorn magic and pegasus flight was astonishing when you had first seen them. But this...
  158.
  159. "Holy crap!" you mutter, and with a shake of your head you get back to work.
  160.
  161.
  162. The End.
