Expiry: Never

  1. >Be you
  2. >Be undeniably comfortable for a Sunday
  3. >Sundays and Saturdays are when Jacky doesn't have to go to work
  4. >You've spent almost all day laying between her legs with your head on her lap
  5. >You really are happy to have ended up with her
  6. >She's a complete dork, but you wouldn't want her any other way
  7. >You wobble to your hooves, yawning out the opening tune to X-Files
  8. "Hey Jacky... y'up?"
  9. >A quick glance shows that she's still KO'd
  10. >Both of you did dip into a bottle of the whiskey but you woke up just fine
  11. >You nudge her thigh with one of your hooves
  12. "Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey."
  13. >You nudge her with every 'hey'
  14. "Hey. Hey... if you don't get up I'm going to lick your face."
  15. >Wait, if she was up, she wouldn't act like she was so that exact same thing would happen
  16. >As you contemplate what to do with yourself and the alcohol fan, you hear someone walking by from behind
  17. >You spin around and catch a glimpse at Sparky
  18. "Hey, hey Sparks! Hold up a sec!"
  19. >You jump off the bed and stick the landing before trotting out into the hallway
  20. "What'cha up to?"
  21. >You know she knows you're there because you can hear her sigh
  22. "Jacky's out cold and I don't feel like doing anything I shouldn't."
  23. >Sparks finally acknowledges you
  24. >"Anon, you know I find you weird."
  25. "And?"
  26. >"And you're really weird."
  27. "And?"
  28. >"And you're Jacky's pony, not mine."
  29. "What does that have to do with anything?"
  30. >"So bug her."
  31. >You keep following her while she walks around, obviously trying to tire you out
  32. >Won't work, lady
  33. "Come on... why can't we be more friends?"
  34. >"Because you're like... her surrogate boyfriend or something at this point. It's weird."
  35. >You frown
  36. >That kinda hurt
  37. "I'm... just a surrogate?"
  38. >That makes you require a sit down
  39. "Dang. I thought I was more than that."
  40. >The wind left your sails completely
  41. >Sparks watches you visibly deflate
  42. >She gives a dull 'uuuuuugh' and bends over, patting your head
  43. >"Listen, Anon. You're a cool... pony... thing. Jacky loves you with all her heart because she's smiled more with you than I've ever seen since we were kids. And that was a while ago."
  44. >Your ears perk up a bit but you aren't revived yet
  45. "Yeah, I get that... but I've heard you two argue a lot. Even if it's just you two goofing around, I want us all to be more cool to each other. And Dashie doesn't even stop by all that much, and Jack told me all of you used to hang out almost every day and now she's just... gone, it seems."
  46. >"Why do you call her Da... your nicknames are weird, ok? And it isn't your fault or anything."
  47. "Well I know that. But I still think I should at least help."
  48. >"Yeah... maybe that's why she likes you so much."
  49. >She ruffles your mane and finally breaks her stoic mask with a smile
  50. >"We have little... rough patches. But she'll get over herself. She always has before."
  51. "Yeah. Maybe. But what about you and Jack?"
  52. >She shrugs
  53. >"What about us? We live together. We said we would when we were in highschool and we're still friends. It just means that we can piss each other off that much more than we can with other people and know it won't mean as much."
  54. >That sounded about right
  55. >As dense as Jacky is about some things, it is easy to make fun of her
  56. >Even you've done that
  57. >On the other hand, Sparks is so stubborn and easy to annoy but she's like a magician with all sorts of things she can do
  58. >She seems spooky levels of empathetic too
  59. "I guess that makes sense... hey, what are you up to, anyway?"
  60. >She sighs
  61. >"Nothing, now. You need something?"
  62. "Yeah. I wanna wake up Jacky but I don't know how."
  63. >"You guys drinking and stuff again?"
  64. "Well, she was drinking and I-"
  65. >"Ok, stop talking. I get it. I got just the thing..."
  66. >After some prep work, and a slight costume change, you bounce onto Jacky's bed and adopt your most heroic voice
  67. "STAND DOWN, CITIZEN, FOR IT IS I, CAPTAIN EQUINE. AWAKEN, OR HAVE YOUR DREAMS OF EVIL ANNIHILATED!"
  68. >Jacky sputters something out as the shockwave of you leaping up onto her bed shakes her awake
  69. >She looks at you, orange hair covering one of her eyes, with a squint
  70. >"Anon, what in..."
  71. >Her eyes shoot open
  72. >"W-what are, how did... take off my panties you little freak!"
  73. "NEGATIVE, CITIZEN."
  74. >You stand proud, a pair of Jacky's boyshorts on your face
  75. >Due to how they don't completely fit on your horse face, they're more set up to sit on the top of your head, with both of the holes for legs revealing an eye
  76. >You give an award winning smile
  77. "AWAKEN FROM YOUR ALCOHOLIC HIBERNATION, THERE'S EVIL TO FACE!"
  78. >You can hear Sparks laughing from around the corner
  79. >The longer it goes on, the louder she's laughing
  80. >"Take those off this instant or I'll-"
  81. "ORAL ACQUIESCING WILL NOT STOP CAPTAIN EQUINE FROM ABSCONDING. WITH JUSTICE."
  82. >You leap off of her bed, stumbling once you hit the ground to gallop away
  83. >Jacky stumbles out of bed, hitting the floor half as gracefully as you do
  84. >At least she's wearing a shirt as well as shorts
  85. >This time
  86. >Sparks is doubled over as you gallop out, underwear firmly attached to your head with a few strips of tape
  87. "FOLLOW ME, JACKY OF JIM BEAN, FOR GRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT JUSTICE!"
  88. >You spend the rest of your energy ducking, dodging and diving away from Jacky's attempts to capture you
  89. >She's strong enough to carry you down a hallway so she isn't a pushoever
  90. >But the booze in her system is keeping her from eloquently chasing you
  91. >Only when you spring onto the bed again does she stumble into her room, huffing and panting
  92. >"You... are asking for it, Anon."
  93. >She leans against the doorway, fanning herself with the collar of her shirt
  94. "JOIN ME IN ADVENTURE."
  95. >She looks at you with a mix of murder and sloppy fatigue in her eye
  96. >"Can't we just chill? It's a Sunday..."
  97. "IT IS ALSO... uh..."
  98. >You look around the room, unable to find a clock or her phone
  99. >She points toward the desktop monitor, which is near her bed
  100. >You glance at it, turning to the head to give yourself better vision
  101. >As tight as these are, you're surprised you can see anything at all
  102. "Ah, ok, IT IS TH...TW..."
  103. >You step closer to the monitor, unable to get a solid read
  104. >Jacky plops down onto her bed next to you and fishes out her phone from around somewhere in her sea of blankets
  105. >"It's almost five."
  106. "ALMOST FIVE. WE'VE SLEPT THE ENTIRE DAY AWAY!"
  107. >You feel a pair of arms snake around your torso before she jerks you off your hooves
  108. >You land at on your side, half on top of her
  109. >At least your shoulder landed on somewhere soft
  110. >"It's Sunday and we fooled around aaaaaaaaaalllllllllll yesterday. So let's just relax. I can put on some music if you like."
  111. "NEGATIVE, I MUST--"
  112. >You struggle to escape her grasp until you feel your power drain
  113. >Your superpony powers and drive to end all threats to the world drains the second she rips off your underwear-based mask
  114. "OH NO I'M GEeetting weaaaakkkk....ahh..."
  115. >You weakly thrash about before going limp
  116. >You even push out your tongue to simulate a hero's dignified death
  117. >Only when you feel a thumb and index finger tug on it do you revive
  118. >But only as Anon
  119. "Oh, hey there, you're awake. Fancy meeting you here."
  120. >"Mmmhmm."
  121. >Jacky had already closed her eyes
  122. >The smile on her face is enough to make you jump out the window with your heroic mask on to truly save the world
  123. >Even if it would only lead to going outside where the neighbors can see
  124. "Hey Jack..."
  125. >You nuzzle against her
  126. >"Mmmmmhmm?"
  127. "Sparky said I was your boyfriend."
  128. >You hear her 'hmmm' turn into something dubious
  129. >She stretches and does her best to hide a hiccup
  130. "I think she's jealous, personally."
  131. >That finally gets her to speak
  132. >"If I had any brains, I'd be jealous too."
  133. "Good thing you don't have a lot of those otherwise you'd be super jealous."
  134. >"I'm gonna take that as a compliment..."
  135. "I will too."
  136. >She sounds happy
  137. >That makes you happy
  138.
  139. >Things have changed a lot over the last...
  140. >How long has it been? Over a year?
  141. >Sparky didn't really like you all that much for a while
  142. >That has changed
  143. >Changed enough that she dragged you to her bed after Jacky drank herself into an early sleep
  144. >She's been working a lot more lately, and seems really satisfied with things now
  145. >Money wasn't an issue before, as far as you knew, but now it really isn't an issue
  146. >Sparky has been doing things online and evidently that was paying off
  147. >To be honest, you haven't paid much attention to it, you just know that it involves her playing games and talking in a weird voice
  148. >You try to free yourself from the redhead's embrace
  149. >She hugs so much tighter than Jacky
  150. >Even sleeping, she doesn't let go easily
  151. >"Mmm. You up already?"
  152. "Yeah, don't mind me, I'm just... I'm gonna go an..."
  153. >You try to push yourself free with every start of a sentence
  154. >Obviously it doesn't work
  155. >One of her arms tighten around your chest, the other snakes down to your hind legs
  156. >Between them, rather
  157. >"Yup, you're sure up."
  158. "ALRIGHTY then!"
  159. >You flop over and fall off the bed
  160. >You still aren't used to her doing that
  161. >Not that you'd ever admit that you sorta don't mind it
  162. "G-geeze, a little easy on the horse apples... those are Jacky's bread and butter there."
  163. >It is no secret now
  164. >A long while back she did tell you that you were more or less Jacky's boyfriend
  165. >The two had some really loud arguments about it even
  166. >First it was the noise
  167. >Then it was you being a siphon on resources
  168. >Then it was jealousy
  169. >You did your best to act like it wasn't happening but there wasn't a whole ton you could honestly do to occupy yourself
  170. >Video games were a crapshoot
  171. >You liked watching movies with Jacky but those always led to... distractions
  172. >You've gotten used to doing laundry
  173. >And mopping the floor
  174. "I'm just gonna..."
  175. >"Go take care of that? Yeah. For the best. Just let me know if you need a hand."
  176. >Your ears flatten against your head as you get up on out of her room
  177. >One night after a heavy night of drinking...
  178. >Well, you've made a point to remember as much as you can about how Jacky treats you
  179. >Speaking of, you hunker down low and crawl along the floor toward Jack's room
  180. >The floor kinda helps scratch that particular itch
  181. >She's already awake, going through her phone
  182. >Her eyes meet yours
  183. >You freeze
  184. >"...You."
  185. >Your entire body tenses up
  186. >"REMATCH, NOW!"
  187. >She fumbles out of bed, wearing only a pair of shorts
  188. >She assumes some sort of wrestling stance
  189. >In some miraculously autistic screech, you launch yourself at her
  190. >Despite the distance, you body slam into her torso
  191. >You can hear that you knocked the air out of her
  192. >She wraps her arms around you and falls back onto the bed
  193. "VICTORYYYYYYYYYY!"
  194. >She coughs and sputters to regain use of her lungs
  195. >"Y-yeah, y'alright, you got that one."
  196. "I knew I would."
  197. >"You ain't know nothin'."
  198. "Still more than you."
  199. >"Oh you little..."
  200.
  201. >She lets go of her hug and runs her hands over your mane
  202. >"Well aren't you all happy and energized today."
  203. "Well I wanted t..."
  204. >The smile she's giving you lets you know that she knows
  205. "...I woke up this way."
  206. >"Yeah hm."
  207. "I did."
  208. >"Right."
  209. >You lift your head up to butt your chin against her forehead
  210. "I'll have you know that I am a talking magical pony and you are focused on one of the most natural things about me instead of the fact that I talk."
  211. >"Horse feathers, you don't know magic."
  212. "Do so! I can make my fingers disappear!"
  213. >"You ain't got no fingers, Anon."
  214. "Exactly my point! You never know what I could get away with."
  215. >She shakes her head and smiles
  216. >"Yeah... you sure aren't normal, that's for sure."
  217. >She still looks a little tired
  218. >She's been working a lot of overtime lately, you know that much
  219. >"Sparky been treating you ok?"
  220. >She knows that Sparks has gotten... aggressive sometimes
  221. >You try your best to not say anything about it so you don't cause any problems but it's probably hard to hide something like that in such a relatively small apartment
  222. >You just want to keep things as easy going as you can
  223. "Yeah, she was showing me one of her speed runs and... well, you know how she is."
  224. >"Yeah... sure do. Don't you worry."
  225. >She gives your shoulders a few hard pats
  226. >"Now get up. I'll take care of you later but Dash said she was about ten minutes out."
  227. "More work?"
  228. >"Yup."
  229. >You slide off of her, as quickly as she allows you to
  230. >You still don't know all of the specifics of what Jack does for work but you don't mind it
  231. "So are you helping her with stuff or...?"
  232. >"She needs a driver basically. She keeps talking about getting a car but any real lump sum of money she makes, she sends to my account. Guess she figures that I'm the most responsible of us or something."
  233. >You've only met Dashie once, or twice
  234. >She doesn't scare you
  235. >Scratch that, she sorta does
  236. >Jack takes her time getting dressed, dropping her shorts to figure out an entire outfit
  237. >After the first time you watched her get ready like that, it has become the norm
  238. >You don't mind it
  239. >When she finally focuses on getting dressed, you leave with her without thought
  240. >She usually doesn't mind you joining her, but you don't always want to get up and go outside
  241. >She tends to ferry around people or do little handyman jobs around town
  242. >It's really not a big town at all
  243. >The population is maybe a couple dozen thousand
  244. >You sit with her in her car
  245. >You know she wants a truck but you really don't see the appeal
  246. "So...is Dashie still..."
  247. >"Doing things she best aught naught? Afraid so..."
  248. "...what happens if she gets caught?"
  249. >"Then prison time. Or someone gets mad and blasts her."
  250. "That... wouldn't be good."
  251. >"No, Anon... it sure would not. Here she comes."
  252. >The passenger side back door opens
  253. >And shuts
  254. >Sitting behind you is a very stern, very serious looking woman
  255.
  256. >She doesn't really honestly look older than Jacky but her features look so much mature
  257. >You can feel yourself instinctively shrink back when her eyes focus on you from the side mirror
  258. >"Hello Anonymous. Keeping my sister happy?"
  259. "Y-yeah."
  260. >"And even Sparky, judging from what I've he-"
  261. >"Yeah well Sparky ain't worth anything right now. Where do you need to go today?"
  262. >Jacky sounds annoyed
  263. >Dashie smiles at her remark
  264. >She's still staring at you from the side mirror
  265. >But her smile isn't reaching her eyes
  266. >"You know who."
  267. >Jack signs
  268. >"I guess I do..."
  269. >She lets out a heavy sigh
  270. >"You gotta stop doing this stuff. What happens when a cop finds out? Are we gonna have to move again?"
  271. >"Relax, that won't happen again. You trust me, don't you?"
  272. >"...I guess so, sure..."
  273. >"Good. Don't worry, I'm doing this for us. And little Anon here."
  274. >You actually aren't that small a stallion
  275. >She reaches forward and scratches the top of your head with long fingers
  276. >Her smile is a little unnerving
  277. >"I'm glad you're watching over her. Who knows what I would do if anything bad happened..."
  278. >The playful menace in her voice makes you as minimally comfortable as you can be
  279. >Jacky frowns and keeps to driving
  280. >You don't really remember the name of the streets but you've seen every building so many times that you could probably be dropped off halfway across town and still make it back home fine
  281. >Not that you would
  282. >One nearby farm offered Jack an amount of money that made her spit take from one of her evening shots
  283. >Even to this day she refuses to tell you what the amount was
  284. >The drive, as short as it is, feels eerily quiet
  285. >Jack stops in front of a pawn and gun shop
  286. >"Thank you, sister. I will just be a few minutes."
  287. >Just as soon as she entered, she left
  288. >You exhale hard
  289. >Like you can finally breath
  290. >"...sorry for her, Anon. Sometimes she's... well she can be a little..."
  291. >It sounds like she's struggling to find the right words for it all
  292. "No... no, it's alright. I... uh... I'm glad she's alright with me."
  293. >"Yeah... I am too."
  294. >Jacky rests against the steering wheel
  295. >"I worry about her... I wish she'd come home and just... get something more normal. Like me. Or heck, even like Sparky and her..."
  296. "V-tuber thing?"
  297. >"Yeah, that."
  298. >She shakes her head
  299. >"Who the heck wants to watch some cartoon looking unicorn head make bad jokes and play video games?"
  300. >Her avatar was pretty cute looking
  301. >You are biased, of course
  302. >You haven't ever seen another pony around town except for the actual non-green, non-talking varieties
  303. "...does she have a problem with... y'know..."
  304. >Jacky looks at you out of the corner of her eye
  305. >You clear your throat and dart your eyes downward
  306. >You don't exactly wear anything so it's difficult to hide certain aspects of yourself
  307. >Watching enough movies and shows involving people wearing clothing made you more than a little self-conscious
  308. >Her eyes widen at the realization
  309. >"Oh... oh! OH! Oh... er... not that I think of...?"
  310.
  311. >She scratches her wild, unbrushed mane
  312. >"I mean... let's put it this way. When I first told her, she didn't sound... surprised..."
  313. "Oh..."
  314. >"Yyyyeah... but she said that she was happy for me. And she said you're technically better for me than any sort of other guy here so there you go, approval!"
  315. >That doesn't sound like it is approval
  316. "I mean we have to, we can stop and try to-"
  317. >"No."
  318. "No?"
  319. >"No. We ain't gonna stop anything just because she doesn't like it. At the end of the day, it ain't about what she wants that makes me happy. You do. So don't you worry about it, ok?"
  320. "Yeah... ok."
  321. >Not everything is perfect
  322. >Your days are usually spent being Jack's lapdog, or watching movies, or watching Sparky play games
  323. >You're sure that if you could work or do something, everything would be a lot better
  324. >But at least you know that you make Jacky happy
  325. "...can we get something to eat after this?"
  326. >"Sure bud. I don't know about you but I'm tired of having Sparky Stew."
  327. >You enjoy having that
  328. >The only downside is that she insists on her 'payment' being un-interrupted cuddle time with you
  329. "Jack. I promise I'll find a way to help out more."
  330. >Her fingers tap along the steering wheel
  331. "Just... please wait for me to figure it out first."
  332. >"Yeah... don't worry. We're gonna make it. Somehow."
