Expiry: Never

  1. >She called me to let me know it was over. When I heard the disconnect-call tone reverberating out, I sat in silence in my room for what felt like hours. The only light that existed within this space was the weak white that leaked from the screen out of my palm. At some point, even that grew dark too.
  2. >Eventually, after God knows how long, I picked myself up, walked out of my house, and stepped into my car. I didn't have a destination when I twisted the key in the ignition. I simply had a place I had to leave for a little while.
  3. >The windows were rolled down and the summer air blew past my hair. The streetlights on every corner acted as symbols to show that I was going... somewhere. I didn't know what I was thinking. Perhaps I wasn't thinking in the first place. Maybe I was in that car so that I could do something other than think. Who knows?
  4. >All I knew was that it was over.
  5. >She would never call me back, never hold my hand, never say she loved me. All that I knew at this point was that I had to keep driving. I just had to keep driving... somewhere.
  6. >Just like life, the wheels kept spinning, and I kept moving forward. I guess that's something, right?
  7.

  9.
  10. >Also just like life, there has to be an end.
  11. >Otherwise, what is the point?
  12. >And life is feeling really pointless right about now...
  13. >You find your way to the end of the road you were on.
  14. >Which led you to the Canterlot Docks overlooking the Bay.
  15. >The large industrial section of the city where shipping containers containing goods from all over come in.
  16. >Small patches of dim orange light littered the docks and streets of the usually busy section of the city.
  17. >But now at this time of night, there was not a single soul to be seen.
  18. >You park your car right alongside the long pier that stretched out into what looked like the void.
  19. >The darkness of the sea meets the night sky made it seem like you were at the end of the world.
  20. >And right now you felt like it was the end of the world.
  21. >The near total darkness did wonders for your psyche.
  22. >Hell, for a moment, you were able to completely forget about her.
  23. >But then she would flood your thoughts again.
  24. >How did it get to this point?
  25. >You began to play every memory of you two together trying to pick out when there were warning signs.
  26. >And you couldn't find one.
  27. >You were starting to not feel right.
  28. >Especially with how calming the dark yonder in front of you looked.
  29. >And how nice it would be to go to sleep and never wake up.
  30. >Ever.
  31. >Out of the corner of your eye, you see a single figure walk up from the pier.
  32. >Of course with it being so dark you could not make out any details of this mysterious stranger.
  33. >Nor did you really care to.
  34. >The stranger, however, seemed to have spotted you.
  35. >They walked up to your car.
  36. >Despite that, you still paid no attention to them.
  37. >You just focused all your attention to the nothingness in front of you.
  38. >The stranger makes his way next to your door.
  39. >Still, you won't won't pay them any mind.
  40. >”Beautiful night, isn't it?”
  41. >The stranger speaks up to you.
  42. >By the sound of the voice it was a guy.
  43. >You really didn't want to give him any attention so you continue to ignore him.
  44. >Perhaps he'll give up and leave you alone.
  45. >Then he starts to chuckle.
  46. >”A quiet one, huh? Alright.”
  47. >He muses.
  48. >In the corner of your eye you notice him reach into his pocket.
  49. >That is when you look over to him.
  50. >He was tall.
  51. >Wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up so his face was mostly covered.
  52. >He had green skin from what you could tell from what little you could see.
  53. >He also had a backpack that was strapped over his shoulders.
  54. >You then see his hands reach out from their pockets as he pulls out a pack of cigarettes.
  55. >Okay, you were slightly worried he was going to try and carjack you.
  56. >He opens the packet and uses his mouth to pull one out and then reaches it over to offer you one.
  57. >”You smoke?”
  58. >You slowly shake your head.
  59. >You're not old enough.
  60. >Even if you were, you would still decline.
  61. >You never got the appeal of smoking and you may never will.
  62. >He shrugs and then closes the pack and stuffs it back into his pocket and pulls out a lighter.
  63. >”Smart man.”
  64. >He tells you as he brings the lighter up to his face and flicks it on.
  65. >Both his hands cover his face as he lights his tobacco stick and once it's lit he pockets the lighter.
  66. >You watch as he turns towards the sea.
  67. >He takes one drag of his cigarette and he damn near inhales half the stick.
  68. >He removes the stick and exhales a large amount of smoke into the cold night with a satisfied sigh like he just downed a refreshing beverage.
  69. >”Ah~! You know, it's nights like these when you truly appreciate life.”
  70. >He comments to you as he puts the cigarette back onto his lips and takes another large puff.
  71. >You then turn back to face the sea as well.
  72. “It's kinda hard to really appreciate it right about now.”
  73. >You say in a grim tone.
  74. >Your mind still solely on her.
  75. >And how you'll never see her give you that smile that always brightens your day again.
  76. >The man then chuckles a little.
  77. >”Sounds like someone had a rough day.”
  78. >You look over to him again and you see him with the cigarette in his two fingers and he flicks it with his thumb to knock off the ashes.
  79. “You have no idea.”
  80. >You tell him and he just nods.
  81. >”It can't be as bad as mine.”
  82. >He says as a sort of challenge.
  83. >It was your turn to chuckle.
  84. “Well, the love of your life probably didn't walk out of your life today.”
  85. >You respond.
  86. >And he begins to laugh.
  87. >”Alright alright, guess your day was pretty rough.”
  88. >He says in an amused tone as he takes one final drag of his cigarette and drops it to the floor and digs his foot onto it to put out the remaining light.
  89. >The stranger then looks around the area before bringing his attention back to you.
  90. >”Say, I know it's a bit rude of me to ask this since we just met and all, but, would you mind giving me a ride out to the gas station near the city limit? I'll gladly pay you for the trouble and gas.”
  91. >That's a way's away but not too far out.
  92. >You really don't want to.
  93. >But truth be told, if you stayed here and continued to be hypnotized by the dark void you may be encouraged to do something you'll regret.
  94. >You sigh and then you nod your head.
  95. “Sure.”
  96. >You can see the man smile.
  97. >”Sweet!”
  98. >The man then hurries to the passengers side of the car and gets in.
  99. >He fastens his seat belt and sets his backpack in front of his legs.
  100. >He then takes his hood off in the car and you can now see his face.
  101. >The man doesn't seem that much older than you.
  102. >Maybe his early 20's is your best guess.
  103. >You start the engine and go on your way to the outskirts of the city.
  104. >The drive was quiet up until you got on the freeway.
  105. >It was empty at this time of night.
  106. >Not even semi trucks were out this late.
  107. >It was just you and your car.
  108. >Taking up the middle lane in a large highway.
  109. >The dimly lit buildings of the city in the distance did help in keeping your mind sound and rational.
  110. >But you still linger back to her.
  111. >You don't know if you'll ever get over it.
  112. >Then the stranger speaks up.
  113. >”Nice car, by the way.”
  114. >He complements your ride as he looks around.
  115. >”What's the model?”
  116. >He asks.
  117. “It's a Camero sport model.”
  118. >The man looks impressed.
  119. >”Awful nice car for someone as young looking as you.”
  120. >He's not wrong.
  121. >This car was a gift to you about a year ago from your parents.
  122. >Something definitely way out of a price range for a high schooler.
  123. >Your parents were loaded though.
  124. >”Have you taken this thing out for a run?”
  125. >He speaks up again.
  126. >You weren't sure what he meant by that but you assume he meant if you raced with it.
  127. “Nah.”
  128. >You answer, shaking your head.
  129. >”Shame.”
  130. >He adds while shaking his head.
  131. >There was a silence in the car once again save for the sounds of the engine and the rush of air running through your open window.
  132. >”So tell me about this love of your life.”
  133. >He tries to trike conversation again.
  134. >All the memories of her begins to flash in your mind again.
  135. “She's smart, funny, beautiful.”
  136. >You continue on.
  137. “Kind, thoughtful. I could go on forever.”
  138. >You finish.
  139. “She's everything I ever wanted.”
  140. >You finish and the man next to you starts to laugh.
  141. >”Ha ha! Oh man, I hear that from every guy that has been smitten.”
  142. >You then feel a hand pat you on the shoulder.
  143. >”How old are you again?”
  144. >He asks.
  145. “I'm 17”
  146. >”Aww.”
  147. >He responds in a cutesy tone.
  148. >”Baby's first break up.”
  149. >He says in an amused tone and sighs.
  150. >”Don't worry, life is just barely beginning for you.”
  151. >He tries to encourage you.
  152. >You don't want to hear it, frankly.
  153. >”So what happened that she walked out on you if she was everything?”
  154. >He's still talking.
  155. >That question struck through your heart like a knife.
  156. >Your grip on your steering wheel starts to tighten.
  157. “I, I don't know.”
  158. >You say softly.
  159. >In a move to try and not dwell on her too much, you try to deflect the question.
  160. “What about you?”
  161. >You ask the stranger.
  162. ”Have you lost the love of your life?”
  163. >There was a long awkward silence,
  164. >”In a way yeah.”
  165. >He says.
  166. >His tone has now gone from light to heavy.
  167. >”But unlike you, I know what I did wrong.”
  168. “And that is?”
  169. >You probe him.
  170. >”Let's just say I had been too immature for our own good at the time.”
  171. >He takes a deep breath.
  172. >”I was so caught up in my work, never really made the time for her after a while.”
  173. >You now think to yourself.
  174. >There were some times when you would have to cancel a date for band practice.
  175. >But she always said she understood.
  176. >”And the shenanigans I had gotten us into finally took its toll, and just like that it was over.”
  177. >He finishes in a very soft tone.
  178. >In the corner of your eye, you see his head tilt down.
  179. >”I won't be able to fix it either.”
  180. “Why's that?”
  181. >You ask.
  182. >The stranger just shakes his head.
  183. >He won't answer.
  184. >So you won't push the issue.
  185. >Finally, you reach out your right hand.
  186. “I'm Flash Sentry, by the way.”
  187. >The man looks at your hand.
  188. >He seems hesitant to want to take it at first.
  189. >After a few moments though, he takes it.
  190. >”Anonymous.”
  191. >He finally introduces himself.
  192. “Glad to meet another lost loved one kindred spirit.”
  193. >Anonymous just chuckles.
  194. >There was silence again between you two so you start to think back to her again.
  195. >Could you set things right with her?
  196. >Would it be worth it?
  197. >”If you truly love her, you would tell her.”
  198. >Anonymous speaks up.
  199. >”You would cherish her, tell her you will never leave her side.”
  200. >He then tilts his head back on the head rest.
  201. >”Tomorrow isn't promised to anybody, so you have to let your loved ones know how much you care.”
  202. >You then look over to Anonymous.
  203. >What the hell was that all about?
  204. >The more you think about it, the more it sounded like Anonymous' issues were somewhat similar to you and your love.
  205. >You try to remember when the last time you told her you loved her.
  206. >Or when you did something she wanted to do.
  207. >And you are drawing a blank.
  208. >You were just about to ask him what he meant when you noticed 3 black cars in your rear view mirror.
  209. >They were coming up on you pretty damn fast.
  210. >Strangely enough, they all had tinted windshields so you couldn't see in them.
  211. >Anonymous seems to notice them as well in the side mirror.
  212. >His soft expression immediately leaves him and he dons a very serious look.
  213. >”Oh fuck.”
  214. >Anonymous says.
  215. >You look over to him and he starts to lean to his backpack.
  216. >Which concerns you.
  217. “What is it?”
  218. >You say with a hint of panic in your voice.
  219. >”It's going to be a long night, is what it is.”
  220. >He unzips the main pouch to his backpack and reaches in.
  221. >And pulls out a handgun.
  222. >Your eyes shoot out of your skull at the sight of the weapon.
  223. “W-Whoa! What the hell!?”
  224. >You shout but he waves the gun to you.
  225. >”Look, if you want to make it through the night, do what I say!”
  226. >He barks at you and he holds the gun down on his lap and he rolls down his window.
  227. >Your hands begin to shake with fear as you watch the cars get closer to you and two of them move into each lane beside you while the third stays right up behind you on your tail.
  228. >You try desperately to keep your cool as you look to your side of the car and see the black car is door to door with you.
  229. >And the same on the other side.
  230. >Again, their windows were heavily tinted so you could not see into them.
  231. >At the same time, the windows of each car roll down and they pull out guns, aiming for you.
  232. >”BRAKE!”
  233. >Anonymous shouts as he reaches out with his handgun and fires at the car next to him.
  234. >You hear several loud cracks that cause you to cower as you slam both feet on your break pedal.
  235. *CRASH
  236. >You are then shoved forward from the sudden stop of the car and then you hear a loud crash from behind you.
  237. >Your rear end had been rammed by the other pursuing car behind you.
  238. >”PUNCH IT!”
  239. >Anonymous yells out and you oblige.
  240. >You stomp down on your gas pedal and you are pulled back by the force of your car jumping ahead for a moment.
  241. >The powerful engine of your Camero roars as you pull forward.
  242. >You then feel your steering wheel jerk to the right as you see Anonymous grab for it and forcefully pulls it in his direction.
  243. >You car jerks to the right and you see that it clips the pursuing car to your right in the corner and it turns to its side and you T bone the car.
  244. >One of the pursuers in the car in front of you reaches out to try and shoot you and your feel a hand slam down on top of your head.
  245. >”DUCK!”
  246. >You let go of the wheel and you slide down your seat as quickly as you can muster and you hear your windshield shatter with another series of repeated loud cracks.
  247. >You then feel yourself get pushed further to the right by a giant force from your left.
  248. >The car to the left of you is now ramming you to the side.
  249. >You do your best your keep the car straight.
  250. >You briefly open your eyes and you see Anonymous unbuckle his seat belt and reach out the side of his window and you hear another few loud cracks from outside.
  251. >You sit back up and see no that the car in front of you has slid off your front and to your left and collided with the other pursuing car to your left.
  252. *BRRRRRT!
  253. “AHH!!”
  254. >You scream and duck again when you hear another set of loud cracks from behind you and the sound of your back window shattering.
  255. >You feel your seats rip apart from the bullets that flew by and missed you by mere inches.
  256. >You try your best to keep a straight line in the car while you watch Anonymous lean out of the passenger window.
  257. >He is now firing back at the other car from behind you and you hear tire screeches that fade out in the distance.
  258. >Anonymous then slides back in the car and sits back in his seat while exhaling deeply.
  259. >You stare at the rear view mirror and see that all three of the cars were crashed into each other through your now missing back window.
  260. “WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?”
  261. >You yell at the top of your lungs.
  262. >Anonymous reaches in his backpack again and pulls out a clip then takes out the one from his gun and loads the new on in.
  263. >”Sorry man. I didn't think I was still being followed.”
  264. >He somberly says as he cocks his gun.
  265. >”Look, just get off at the nearest exit and drop me off there, I don't want to get you more involved than you already are.”
  266. >You immediately move your car to the side of the highway.
  267. “Fuck that, man! You can get off right here!”
  268. >You sternly tell him as you begin to slow down on the shoulder.
  269. >He then looks to you.
  270. >”Look, just give me that one last favor and it'll all be done with!”
  271. >He raises both his voice and his gun.
  272. >”Please!”
  273. >He adds.
  274. >As if the pleasantry would somewhat soften his threat to you.
  275. >It's not like you have much of a choice in the matter now that he brandished his gun towards you.
  276. >You sigh and comply buy continuing to drive down the now empty freeway.
  277. >Both of you keeping an eye on the road behind in case anyone else came towards you.
  278. >At long last, there was an exit that lead into the city so you quickly took the off ramp.
  279. >You begin to slow down.
  280. >As soon as you make if off the ramp, you're gonna kick this asshole out of your car.
  281. >Just as you see an opening at the end of the ramp, you now see several black cars and a few SUV's roll up from nowhere and block the end of the ramp.
  282. >”God damn it.”
  283. >You hear Anonymous curse under his breath next to you.
  284. >You start to see several guys step out of the cars and pull out auto rifles and point them to you and your car.
  285. >You stomp on the brakes and stop dead in your tracks.
  286. >Once fully stopped, the men begin to slowly walk up to your car.
  287. >They all has mostly the same get up of black pants, black leather jackets and some of them even had sunglasses on.
  288. >At night.
  289. >Their guns still pointed at you.
  290. >Anonymous once again sighs and then opens the door to the car.
  291. >But before he does, he looks to you.
  292. >”Stay in here, don't do any sudden movements, keep your hands on the wheel where they can see them outside and let me do the talking.”
  293. >He tells you and gets out the car with his backpack.
  294. >He holds his hands in the air and slowly walks towards the men.
  295. >”Drop the gun!”
  296. >One of the men barks at Anonymous and he obliges.
  297. >The Men reach Anonymous and snatch the backpack from his other hand and begin to pat him down.
  298. >Once they determine that he's unarmed, one of the men looks behind him and nods.
  299. >Then the two men split apart and a smaller man walks up in front of them.
  300. >He looked to be in his late 30's maybe early 40's and had on a business suit with a red tie and greased up slick back hair.
  301. >The man takes a good long look at Anonymous before he starts to smile.
  302. >”Anonymous, my boy!”
  303. >He greets him like an old friend with no hint of animosity in his voice. Even going as far as holding up his arms for an embrace.
  304. >”Hey Bottom Dollar.”
  305. >Anonymous matches his enthusiasm but does not bring his arms down.
  306. >Bottom Dollar hugs Anonymous for a moment before he lets go and steps back.
  307. >”My boy, did you really think you were going to fluke your way out of this one as well?”
  308. >He begins to chuckle at his own question.
  309. >Anonymous also chuckles at the man's question.
  310. >”Well, you know? It's gotten me this far and I didn't think you guys would be this persistent.”
  311. >Bottom Dollar shakes his head but he continues to smile.
  312. >”Ha ha, always overlooking the smaller details.”
  313. >He says as he takes the backpack from one of the armed men and he opens it up to see what's inside of it.
  314. >He smiles at what he sees and then zips it back closed.
  315. >”It's your only real flaw, and why things always end up this way.”
  316. >His friendly demeanor quickly fades as he now brings his attention to you.
  317. >”Whose the kid you dragged into this mess this time?”
  318. >He asks Anonymous and he then points to you and gestures you to get out of the car.
  319. >You don't respond for a moment until the armed men then point their weapons to you and you jump out of the car and hold your hands up.
  320. >The men raise their weapons at you to signify you to stop where you're at.
  321. >”What's your name kid?”
  322. >Bottom Dollar asks you.
  323. >You start to shake in your spot but you answer him anyways.
  324. “F-Flash Sentry.”
  325. >You answer him nervously.
  326. >Bottom Dollar smiles at you.
  327. >”A little young to be a wheel-man, aren't you?”
  328. >You just nod at his question and don't respond.
  329. >”Hey, Dollar, man, let the kid go, he has nothing to do with this and I only asked him for a ride and just got caught up in all this.”
  330. >Anonymous pleads with the elder looking man who just turns to look back at him with a scowl on his face.
  331. >”Anonymous, when are you going to learn that your lies are only going to get more people hurt?”
  332. >He and the armed men begin to take steps towards you and Anonymous.
  333. >”You're like a bad luck charm, and the longer you keep living, the more innocent people will have to die because they are within your blast radius.”
  334. >Bottom Dollar is now face to face with Anonymous.
  335. >”It's why she's dead.”
  336. >He says softly and one of the armed man slams the butt of his rifle onto Anonymous' head and he falls over.
  337. >You then feel something forcefully slam against your own head and you black out in an instant.
  338.
  339. >There was a rumbling all around you.
  340. >And darkness.
  341. >It snapped you back into reality of sorts.
  342. >Your head still hurts like hell.
  343. >And you now notice that you were laying on your side.
  344. >And there seemed to be a sort of heavy air around you.
  345. >You try to move.
  346. >But your arms are tied behind your back.
  347. >You then try to move your legs and your ankles were tied together.
  348. “Huh!?”
  349. >You yell out in a panic and try to squirm around to figure out where you were.
  350. >”Calm down kid.”
  351. >The familiar voice next to you did little to calm yourself.
  352. >You try and get up quickly only to slap your head onto something hard that was mere inches away from you.
  353. >Again, because of the darkness all around you couldn't make what was up or down.
  354. “Arrgh!”
  355. >You lightly yell out.
  356. “Where are we?”
  357. >You ask softly this time, trying to get your now pounding headache to fade away.
  358. >”We're in the trunk of a car.”
  359. >Anonymous says as calmly as can be.
  360. >”My best guess is they're hauling us out to the outskirts of the city to execute us and bury our bodies.”
  361. >Again, he says it as if this was normal for him.
  362. “What the fuck!?”
  363. >You yell back at him.
  364. >He shushes you.
  365. >”Shh! Keep it low! I've got this.”
  366. >He tells you in a loud hush.
  367. “No! I can't keep it low! I'm about to die!”
  368. >Despite telling him that, you told him in a louder whisper.
  369. “Just who the hell are you? How did we end up like this?”
  370. >You ask, not really wanting answers, but you ask anyways.
  371. >Anonymous just sighs.
  372. >”I guess you could say I'm a gun for hire.”
  373. >The ride seems to get a lot more bumpy.
  374. >Like they are now off road.
  375. >There may not be much time left.
  376. >”I will admit there have been some close calls in a lot of the jobs I have done in the past, but I've always got it done. No matter how big or crazy it was.”
  377. >There was a pause before he continued on.
  378. >”Of course, in reality with a reputation like that, you get a stigma that you are more a liability.”
  379. >He chuckles.
  380. >”Understandable really. After a while I would get jobs and more times than not it would turn out that I was the “extra” that needed to be silenced first.”
  381. >Sounds rough.
  382. >”Of course I would find a way out of it. And tonight was no different, really. I was hired to be a part of a heist earlier today and when we regrouped to count our score they tried to take me out. So I killed them before they had a chance to take me out and I drove the getaway car off the pier earlier tonight with the bodies in it. Which is how we met.”
  383. >He then sighs,
  384. >”I honestly thought there was no way they could trace me, so I have no idea how they still found me as I made sure to lay low until it was late enough.”
  385. >He chuckles again.
  386. >”Guess I do really miss the little details.”
  387. >Once again there was a long silence.
  388. “So, what did he mean by 'that's why she's dead'?”
  389. >You think you know the answer, but you wanted to hear it from Anonymous himself.
  390. >”Remember when I said the shenanigans with my job took its toll?”
  391. >You don't answer,
  392. >”Well, one of my many botched jobs led to her getting whacked.”
  393. >You figured that was the case.
  394. >And also why he said he couldn't fix it.
  395. >Once again there was silence.
  396. >You can now feel the car start to slow down.
  397. >Looks like you were at your final resting place.
  398. >”I'm sorry another one of my shitty moves got you dragged into this.”
  399. >You don't answer him.
  400. >It's not like you want to tell him 'It's okay'.
  401. >Because it's not.
  402. >But it just seems sad.
  403. >You're starting to feel a barrage of tears about to fall out of your eyes.
  404. >First your girlfriend dumped you.
  405. >Then you were chased by a bunch of seeming mobsters.
  406. >And now you were going to be killed and deserted in a ditch in the middle of nowhere
  407. >”look, I know you don't have a lot of reason to trust me, but just keep your cool and when shit hits the fan, drop to the floor and bury your face into the ground.”
  408. >He tells you in a serious tone.
  409. >”And trust me, you'll know when shit will hit the fan.”
  410. >He adds.
  411. >The car has now come to a complete stop.
  412. >The rumble of the engine fades as well.
  413. >You then hear several doors open and shut and many footsteps outside but nothing near you.
  414. >There was a long, excruciating wait before you heard some footsteps get closer to where you were laying.
  415. >The sound of a lock clicking and then the door opens and you are faced with several of the armed men from earlier.
  416. >They grab you and Anonymous and pull you both out from the trunk.
  417. >Looks like they tied Anonymous' hands and ankles much like yourself.
  418. >You hear the hood slam shut behind you and then you are shoved forward from someone behind you and almost fall over.
  419. >Both you and Anonymous hop along until you two are facing Bottom Dollar again.
  420. >Behind him was a large hole with some shovels truck in a large pile of dirt.
  421. >He still had his friendly smile on his face as he saw you two.
  422. >”To think we've come this far, Anonymous my boy.”
  423. >He happily chirps at the man next to you.
  424. >Anonymous just chuckles.
  425. >”I would've liked somewhere a little less, dusty.”
  426. >There was some laughter from some of the men and Bottom Dollar himself.
  427. >”Well son, in this lifestyle we all can't pick and choose where we want to be laid to rest.”
  428. >Bottom Dollar's smile quickly fades as he now takes a few steps towards you.
  429. >He then wraps his arm around your shoulders and begins to pull you closer to him.
  430. >”Such a waste of a fine young man.”
  431. >He tells you as he drags you along to the base of the hole.
  432. >You awkwardly hop with him until you are then kneed in your hamstring and you fall to your knees.
  433. ”Ah!”
  434. >”Hey come on!”
  435. >Anonymous calls out.
  436. >Bottom Dollar looks over to him.
  437. >”This is what happens when people get too close to someone as toxic as you are!”
  438. >He yells as you can hear him stand right behind you.
  439. >You are starting to whimper.
  440. >The tears are falling.
  441. >Where the hell was this 'shit hitting the fan' thing Anonymous was talking about.
  442. >In a flash, you heard someone start yelling bloody murder from further back.
  443. >You quickly look back to see Anonymous behind one of the armed men with his right hand clutching to a knife that was firmly planted in the mans chest.
  444. >His left hand was holding onto the man's weapon and was directing it out to the other armed men.
  445. >Then there was a sound a hundreds of cracks as you see Anonymous force the armed guy shoot his auto rifle at everyone.
  446. >This may have been what Anonymous was talking about.
  447. >You could not plop yourself on the desert floor fast enough with your face digging into the dirt.
  448. >And you laid there.
  449. >Listening to all the yells and bloody screams.
  450. >Gunshots can be heard from all directions.
  451. >It was a few solid minutes of chaos that you dared not look up to see.
  452. >Until it was finally quiet.
  453. >Very slowly, you lift your head to had a look around.
  454. >There were bodies laying everywhere.
  455. >You continue to look around to see if anyone else was left standing before you decide to sit up as best you can.
  456. >Once you were able to sit up, you can now see the carnage that was all over you.
  457. >It was like something out of a horror movie.
  458. >Blood.
  459. >Guns.
  460. >Bullet shells.
  461. >And again, the bodies.
  462. >A short distance from you, you can see Anonymous standing over someone who was sitting on the ground.
  463. >Looking up to Anonymous.
  464. >Anonymous had a pistol in his hand and was pointing down to the person.
  465. >Upon further inspection, you can now see that it was Bottom Dollar who was on the ground.
  466. >Holding his hand over a wound on his chest with blood spilling down his chest.
  467. >A look of disdain for the man standing above him.
  468. >”You cockroach.”
  469. >He spits at Anonymous.
  470. >”You can't keep running away and think you won't get your comeuppance!”
  471. >He raises his voice.
  472. >Anonymous is unmoving and keeps the gun pointed squarely at Bottom Dollar's head.
  473. >”Everyone's luck runs out. And everyone around you will continue to suffer!”
  474. >He continues his rant.
  475. >”This isn't th-”
  476. *CRACK
  477. >He doesn't finish his statement as Anonymous pulls the trigger and shoots Bottom Dollaer in the face.
  478. >You look on in horror as the back of his head splatters and he flops over like a pile of dirty clothes.
  479. >You lightly yelp at the sound and sight and look away.
  480. >Should you try and run away?
  481. >Yeah, right.
  482. >Try and hobble away while your ankles were still bound together.
  483. >You were afraid to look back at Anonymous.
  484. >Everyone else seems to be dead.
  485. >Was he now going to kill you to cover all his tracks?
  486. >It would be convenient for him to do so.
  487. >You look back to him and he is slowly walking up to you.
  488. >You see that he was a bit dirty and he had some blood stains all over his sweater.
  489. >You start to panic and scoot away as best you can.
  490. >He notices you doing that and then he starts to look around.
  491. >Once he finds what he's looking for, he walks towards one of the many bodies littered all over floor.
  492. >He then reaches down and grabbed for a handle that was sticking out from the body.
  493. >He then pulls out what looks to be the knife he used earlier and wipes the blood off on the corpses clothes.
  494. >With knife in tow, he returns to his march onto you.
  495. >You once again try to scoot and craw away from the maniac as quick as you can but he reaches you with ease.
  496. “Don't kill me!”
  497. >You plea with Anonymous tearfully.
  498. >He smiles and leans down and puts the knife in between your wrists and cuts the zip tie off you
  499. >”Relax, I'm not going to kill you.”
  500. >He reassures you as he now reaches down to your ankles and cuts the other tie.
  501. >Once you were free from your constraints, he sets himself down next to you and lets out a big sigh while pulling out his pack of cigarettes.
  502. >”Man, what a day.”
  503. >He says as he pulls out a single cigarette and hands it to you.
  504. >You once again vehemently push the cancer stick away and back to him.
  505. “I don't smoke.”
  506. >You tell him again but he shoves it back to you.
  507. >”Trust me, it'll help calm you down.”
  508. >He shoots back with a little bass in his voice.
  509. >You look over to him and he has this serious look on his face.
  510. >It's not like you have much of a choice now so you take it and place it in your mouth.
  511. >He smiles at your change of heart.
  512. >”Good man.”
  513. >He says and he pulls one out for himself with his mouth.
  514. >Then he pockets the pack and pulls out the lighter and reaches out to you to light yours first.
  515. >Once lit, you immediately inhale some smoke.
  516. >The harshness of it burns your throat and you start to cough violently.
  517. >Anonymous just laughs.
  518. >”Hahaha! Always fun to see a virgin pop their cherry.”
  519. >He muses as he lights his cigarette and pockets the lighter.
  520. >You watch as his first drag kills about half the cigarette.
  521. >He removes the stick and exhales.
  522. >”Don't inhale, it's not weed.”
  523. >He gives off some tips.
  524. >”Sip it and keep the smoke in your mouth.”
  525. >He brings his own cig back up to his mouth as a demonstration.
  526. >”When you remove the cigarette, then you inhale some air and let the smoke enter your lungs.”
  527. >You do as you are told and the smoke goes down much smoother.
  528. >As the smoke enters your body, you feel a gentle warmth wash over your body.
  529. >Almost like a soothing numbness.
  530. >You aren't as tense as you were just a few moments ago.
  531. >You then exhale and watch as a large amount of smoke is released into the air and fades up into the sky.
  532. >Anonymous then pats you on the back.
  533. >”Atta' Boy!”
  534. >He smiles as he takes a smaller drag from his cigarette.
  535. >You continues to sit there and indulge more on the nicotine rush.
  536. “How did you get out of your restraints?”
  537. >You ask softly as you take another puff.
  538. >Anonymous then waves his knife to you.
  539. >”Always have a backup weapon on you at all times.”
  540. >He says as he retracts the blade into it's handle and then stuffs the knife in his shoe.
  541. >”This isn't the first time I've been bound so I was able to grab it and cut my wrist bounds.”
  542. >He explains.
  543. >”I lightly cut my ankles but I still needed to make it seem like I was still tied up and it's easier to fake having your wrists tied than your ankles.”
  544. >He then tugs at his sweater sleeve.
  545. >”The I just hid the blade in my sleeve until the right time to strike and thankfully it was before they took you out.”
  546. >He laughs at the second half of his line.
  547. >You should be more mad over that, but you are alive.
  548. >And you're sure this cigarette is doing it's job in keeping you calm.
  549. >He takes one last drag of his cigarette and then flicks it off to the side and he gets back up to his feet.
  550. >”Let me clean this mess before we get out of here.”
  551. >You finish your smoke while you watch Anonymous drag all the bodies to the hole that was meant for you and him and drop all of them in there.
  552. >The hole was just big enough to fit all the bodies and then Anonymous starts to throw dirt in the hole until it was covered.
  553. >In the distance you can now see hints of sunlight start to appear over the horizon.
  554. >Dawn was now coming for a new day.
  555. >You finish your cigarette so you stand up and drop the butt on the floor and stomp it out.
  556. >Once done, Anonymous grabs the backpack and does one last sweep of the area and pick up several of the weapons laying around and you both hop in one of the black cars to head back into the city.
  557. >You drive.
  558. >Anonymous' reasoning was that just in case you were followed again, he can take care of them like last time.
  559. >As you make your way back into the city, the sun continues to raise and the bright morning colors gives you new hope.
  560. >And a new perspective
  561. >You reach into your pocket and pull out your cell phone.
  562. >You were starting to get reception so you decided to make a phone call.
  563. >It went straight to voicemail, of course.
  564. “Hey.”
  565. >You begin, still trying to find to words to say.
  566. “Listen, I know it's been rough the past few weeks.”
  567. >You pause again.
  568. “Look, I know I haven't been the best boyfriend and I understand why you did what you did, but...”
  569. >You sigh.
  570. “I just want you to know that I did a lot of thinking over the past few hours and I just wanted to let you know that I am sorry for not being there as much as I should have been, and that I still love you. You may not anymore, and I accept that. But just know that this last night without you truly made me appreciate what we did have. Goodbye.”
  571. >You finish your tangent and you hang up and look over to Anonymous.
  572. >He has an amused look on his face.
  573. >”That was fucking gay, man.”
  574. >He chuckles and you smile back and shake your head.
  575. >The drive back into town was a quiet one.
  576. >The sun was now overhead and the hustle and bustle of the city was starting to ramp up.
  577. >You finally make it to an outpost in the city and you stop there.
  578. >Anonymous gets out the car and you follow.
  579. >You two meet in the front of the car one last time.
  580. >”Well, this is where I'll take my leave.”
  581. >He announces as he looks to the car and pats it on the hood.
  582. >”And I'll be taking the car as well.”
  583. >You shrug your shoulders.
  584. “What about my car?”
  585. >You ask.
  586. >Now that you think about it, you have no idea what happened to it after you were kidnapped.
  587. >”Just report it stolen, I'm sure it's in some pound right now.”
  588. >Anonymous says simply.
  589. >Then he reaches into his backpack.
  590. >He then pulls out a stack of cash that was wound together with a band and tosses it to you.
  591. >”That's for the ride, the car and the trouble.”
  592. >He says as he gets in the drivers seat to the car.
  593. >”That's about fifty thousand in cash, should be enough to cover any damages.”
  594. >He says as he puts his seat belt on.
  595. “So where are you heading to?”
  596. >You ask him before he drives off.
  597. >He smiles to you and shakes his head.
  598. >”Less you know, the better.”
  599. >He waves to you and then drives off back out of the city.
  600. >Leaving you there with cash in hand.
  601. >You quickly flick through the stack and see that it is indeed full of $100 bills.
  602. >You pocket the stack and pull out your phone to call for a ride back home.
  603. >It was then your phone started to ring.
  604. >And her name and number showed up on the call screen.
  605. >You heart starts to race again at the sight of her calling you back.
  606. >Smiling from ear to ear, you hit accept.
  607.
  608. -END?
  609. I haven't decided if I wanted to continue this or keep it as is.
