Anonfilly Character Guide

An Anon who’s been turned into a filly. The traditional scenario is that it was done by Twilight, with varying reasons, but the fillyfication may be done in different ways without compromising Anon’s core character.

There are a great many ways to characterize this filly, with a multitude of differing personalities to make of him, but commonly expressed throughout many of the works featuring him are integral traits that make up a core part of his character. These aspects may be present or unpresent depending on his iteration, and its rare or unheard of that one would feature them all, but they are a definite recurring presence.

Listed in no particular order:

 

Masculine/Tomboy Tendencies

Due to formerly being a male, Anonfilly would act like one. He wouldn’t care much for acting like a typical filly, as he would have no reason to. He wouldn’t care for prettying himself up, and wouldn’t have a filly’s reservations against being rougher – physically or socially. He may find himself in schoolyard brawls. He would be more blunt than a filly would. He might be more crass or vulgar.

 

General Brashness

His brashness may be an effort to compensate for the loss of his dick, his new alien body, the strange world he finds himself in, irritation/indignation at the one who made him into a filly, or a combination of the four.

Or it may be because he was a manchild prior to being fillified and he doesn’t know how to not make an ass of himself.

 

Social Ineptitude/Eccentricity

Anon may have social ineptitude or various eccentricities due to the 4chan carciature of a socially inept, autistic Anon. Typically found in more comedy centric or lighthearted stories, but may also appear in stories with a more serious tone to provide needed comic relief. 4chan-specific eccentricities (a spaghetti fixation, for example) would count as a reference, but general autism or social awkwardness would not. Either way, he would turn heads while coming across as strange.

His oddness may also be due to his earthen platitudes or ideas. Says things that make sense to us, but not to them. In this case it wouldn’t be a manner of inherent social ineptitude, but a sort of culture clash.

 

Vestigial Human Characteristics

He may have traits from his humanity that have persisted despite the transformation. Examples of such traits would be a faster reaction time, a hunger for meat, instinctual reactions to stimuli (crouching when frightened, curling lips when threatened), or a sort of way in which he moves or carries himself.

It might also persist onto his id, manifesting in things like an increased capacity for duplicity, an increased tendency and ease towards performing deceit, or a propensity/tolerance for violence as compared to an average pony.

A craving for meat is an especially common trope.

 

Various Earth or 4Chan References

May make references to the site due to the origin of being an ‘anon’ from there, with stuff such as baneposting, pepe, “kek”, etc etc.

Making references to /mlp/ means that he has prior knowledge of the show. An anon that knows of equestria and an anon that doesn’t both have very different character pathings. They would act completely different upon arriving to Equestria, and would have different ramifications for their behavior.

He might also make earth references. Stuff like bands, politics, countries. These would be SPECIFIC references, though, which is a different matter from referencing general earth knowledge. An Anonfilly can go without making niche or specific references, but an Anonfilly that doesn’t reference or acknowledge general earth knowledge – such as the solar system’s autonomy – isn’t an Anonfilly at all.

Earth knowledge plays a varying role on Anon’s character, depending on his amorphic intellect or the narrative. He might attempt to make crude guns, mustard gas, pipe bombs, or other such weaponry with malign intent. He may bring a concept rather than a thing from earth, like a genre of music or an idea. His modern knowledge might save him from a sticky situation, such as knowing that burning a torch in an enclosed space is retarded and you shouldn’t do so.

He might be written with SPECIALIZED knowledge, referring to what he’d gained in the profession he was in prior to being transported to Equestria. Giving Anon specialized knowledge is only advisable if it plays a larger role in the narrative or plot, since it comes at the cost of making Anon’s past less nebulous, less “Anonymous”.

 

Confidence or Cockiness

He is prone to being depicted as having either a healthy confidence or an inflated arrogance.

For the former, his self-assuranced confidence may give him more of a ‘mature’ demeanor, for his age or on a broader scale. He might not let things affect him that would normally affect other ponies, and would feel like he’s in charge of whatever situation he’s thrust into. This may be because he’s really IS a grown ass man in a kid’s body and he’s mature enough to accept his situation without throwing a shitfit, acting his real age. It may also be because the writer chooses to depict Equestria as ‘softer’ or more child-friendly; Anon, coming from a much grittier reality wouldn’t trouble himself with pony problems as a result, seeing them as ‘silly’ or not as serious.

For the latter, his arrogance would come from a falsely large perception of himself, a contempt for pony society, or a compensation for insecurities. He would also likely have some amount of brashness to accompany his cockiness. This arrogance often comes from him seeing himself as ‘above’ the ponies due to the advanced technological level of earth, and the ponies’ (percieved or legitimately) intristically naïve nature. It may either be one cause or a combination of the false perception, contempt, or compensation.

A confident, mature anonfilly may seem like a ‘cool big sister’ to other fillies. Adults may or may not regard him as an equal if they know about him being turned filly.

An arrogant, haughty anonfilly may just be abrasive, or a dick. Though he might keep his perceived superiority to himself, choosing that its not worth the effort to enlighten the foolish ungulates as to his true brilliance. May or may not act like a child as well.

 

Immaturity

This one is particularly indefinite as Anonfilly’s maturity level is depicted all over the place, sometimes acting like a mature adult, a screeching retard, or somewhere in between.

A mature Anonfilly would act composed and rational.

An immature Anonfilly acts like a child. Likely prone to throwing irrational shitfits. Isn’t able to compose himself when he wants to, or just isn’t composed at all. May whine.

This is usually due to his brain also being turned into that of a fillies. This cause may lead to him doing conventionally foalish things such as seeking maternal comfort or having a tendency to cry. He might notice that he doesn’t have as firm a grasp on his emotions as he used to.

The other cause is that it came pre-packaged. Anon’s just a manchild, its who he is. This is usually a comedy-only scenario, as his room for character-development is narrowed.

 

Conniving/Rebellious

Filly may have a particular disregard for the the law, and rules in general. Doesn’t like being told what to do. Sees it as demeaning, as he’s not really a child. Will rudely remind ponies of this if they do try to get him to do things.
