Expiry: Never

1. >You are Anon
2. >And boy is the look on your little pone's face gonna be priceless when she sees you got her a new companion finally
3. >Not that she really asked directly per say, but there was more than enough nudging and winking that she was lonely when you weren't home.
4. >The pony currently in the back of your car was eyeing you in the rearview mirror rather shrewdly, but you're sure she's just a little wary of you.
5. >Which is fair
6. >Since the complete and utter surrender of Equestria the little horses had as many rights as a melanated fellow in the 1800’s
7. >Unfortunately some people treated them the same way, if not worse.
8. >The seedy salesman had told you this girl had been through a few prior owners before she wound up at his…"Shelter" and that she had been “Declawed” with quotation marks, whatever that means.
9. > She didn't seem too worse for wear thankfully
10. >A little dirty and a fair amount of scrapes and scars but she seemed rather alert and cognizant
11. >At least as far as you could tell
12. >She wasn't exactly like any pony you’ve seen before
13. >Her deep black coat is much shorter than you're familiar with
14. >Rather than being somewhat thick and fluffy, it's hardly more than a velvety peach fuzz.
15. >Not to mention the holes that litter the bottom third of her legs and what's left of her horn
16. >Can't forget the weird translucent wings also covered in holes
17. >You get the nagging feeling she’s not actually a pony but nonetheless, you're several grand in the hole already.
18. >The holes don't seem to pain or inhibit her in anyway at least
19. >You smile at her in the rearview mirror, hoping she eases up on the intense glare you've been receiving.
20. >Trying to defuse the tension you nervously laugh
21. “I'm sure you can't wait to be out of those straps and all.”
22. >Fucking brilliant commentary Anon, the spirit of John Madden guides you like a seagull in a hurricane.
23. >Not like she can reply anyway with the bit in her mouth
24. >She rolls her bright emerald eyes
25.
26. “We’ll be home soon I promise”
27. >You fiddle with the radio for a bit, ultimately not finding anything worth listening to all the way through before you arrive home
28. >Once you park the car in the garage you get out and undo her bridle
29. >As your hand begins to invade her personal bubble she slightly but visibly tenses yet her eyes stay locked on you
30. >Upon removal of the bit she stretches her jaw showing that she is apparently missing a few teeth
31. >Curiously they seem strategically removed as the four spots are symmetrically spaced across the top and bottom of her mouth
32. >Is that what the dealer meant by declawed?
33. >It's not like horses had fangs
haha..
34. >She notices that you notice and snaps her jaws shut
35. “How ya feelin?”
36. >She scans you and her surroundings as you begin undoing the rest of her straps
37. >”You do not need to feign empathy for my sake, I understand what I'm here for”
38. >You pause for a second
39. “And what would that be?”
40. >She sighs
41. >”I assume like my previous….owners, a collection of holes to fill and a personal maid no?”
42. >The statement rolls off her forked tongue very matter of factly as if it was the way things were meant to be.
43. >Which judging by the few scars she had, it was probably just what she was used too
44. >You can't help awkwardly chuckle at her frankness.
45. “Mmmm no, not quite. In fact I really don't expect much of you besides playing nice and cleaning up after yourself”
46. >Her brow furrows and looks rather taken aback by your statement
47. >"Aren't you the curious one?"
48. >Her forwardness would be cute if it weren't for the subject matter
49. "I've been called worse."
50. >You finish unbuckling her harness and help her climb out of the car
51. “Now hold tight for just a second and I’ll be right back”
52. >"Does that imply I have a choice?"
53. >You shrug before entering the house and shutting the door behind you
54. >”Anonymous!”
55. >You look over to see your friend and the first mare you purchased; Celestia, clambering over the couch to get to you
56. >”Are you alright? I was worried something had happened.”
57. >As she reaches you she rears onto her hind legs to give you a short hug
58. “Shit tia, I’m sorry. I thought I told you I'd be a little late last night.”
59.
60. >She rubs a hoof against her chin
61. >”Hmmm, I seem to remember you mentioning something like that, but still 'A little late' is not the same as three and a half hours late"
62. >She softly 'punches' you in the stomach
63. >"Not to mention you weren't answering your phone."
64. >You tousle her mane much to her chagrin.
65. "Again, my bad. Work was slow and I chewed through the battery but, I promise I'm gonna make it up to you right now."
66. >She cocks her head to the side and raises an eyebrow
67. >"And how do you plan on doing that? OH, did you bring home an entire cheesecake just for moi?!"
68. >She regally points a hoof at her chest and bats her eyelids
69. "Not exactly, I got something you something even better"
70. >You open the door and motion for your newest edition to the family to join you
71. "I know with all the overtime i've been pulling lately you've been kind of lonely so I thought I'd do something about that"
72. >The black pony makes it all of three steps into the room before Celestia quickly places herself between you and the perceived intruder.
73. >"Chrysalis."
74. >Her tone is low and aggressive
75. "Surpriiiise?"
76. >A smug smile spreads across Chrysalis' face as she notices Celestia followed by the coral colored collar adorned she’s wearing.
77. >She responds with venom of her own
78. >"Oh how grand to see the great princess herself reduced to nothing but a mere cock warmer."
79. >Oh Anon, what have you gotten yourself into?
80. >"How dare you insinuate such a thing."
81. >You feel like you've heard that name before
82. >Brain, run a search inquiry for 'Chrysalis'
83. >A few moments of dial up noises bring up vague memories of middle school ecology classes
84. >Well that's useless, thanks brain.
85. >As you disconnect from the matrix chair in your head you come back to them still arguing.
86. "Okay hold on, what the fuck is going on?"
87. >"Anon do you remember the story I told you about the creatures called changelings?"
88. "Yes?"
89. >You don't
90. >"Oh yes, I'm sure it was a very impartial and fair recounting of the events that happened that day"
91.
92. >Celestia pushes her side into you forcing you to take a step back
93. >She's doing her best to keep her composure but you can see the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end
94. >"You have to get rid of her immediately!"
95. "What, why? Is she that big of a problem?"
96. >"Its rich that my visage alone is enough to shake you like this"
97. >She buzzes her wings a few times as she encroaches on Celestia's personal space
98. >You've seen a myriad of emotions across your friend's face in the few years you've had her, but never one this stern.
99. >You place a hand on her back, disrupting her concentration
100. "Look Tia, I don't know what's going on but I can't exactly waltz down to the shelter and just give her back."
101. >She locks her bright pink eyes to yours with a pleading look.
102. "For one she wasn't exactly cheap and I doubt a back alley shelter like that is willing to give me even a partial refund. Can't we just work this out?."
103. >"Yes, 'Tia’ afraid that you might lose your coltfriend?"
104. >"I told you, that is not the kind of relationship Anon and I share."
105. >A coy smile spreads across Chrysalis' face
106. >"I see, then what's the problem if I make him mine?"
107. >What did she say?
108. “Make who, what?”
109. >She prods Celestia's chest with a hoof.
110. >Once you see a blood vessel in Tia's head look like it might pop, you intervene by picking each of them up
111. >Despite their protests you sit them on the furthest sides of the couch.
112. >You take your seat between them
113. "Alright alright, let's talk this out like adults. Celestia, you go first"
114. >She takes a deep breath and blows out slowly to compose herself
115. >"Anon, her kind is a parasite that sucks its hosts dry of their love to gain power."
116. >Chrysalis laughs and taps the ring at the base of her stump of a horn.
117. >"And what do you think I'd do with that love while I'm forced to wear this 'lovely' contraption hmm?"
118. >You give the black pony a harsh glare
119. "Hang on, I'll get to you in a second. Tia, please continue"
120. >Chrysalis lets out a loud "Hmph"
121.
122. >"Back in equestria she and her kind we're a consistent threat and nuisance to my kingdom. Be it espionage, sabotage, or kidnapping and impersonating royal personnel."
123. >Well that's a lot to take in but it's not like she'd lie
124. >Talking about Equestria wasn't exactly her favorite past time so your frame of reference didn’t expand much beyond her being a princess and various fables
125. >You nod at her and turn to the creature you now know as a changeling named Chrysalis.
126. >Surely she has a rational and logical explanation about how it's all a misunderstanding.
127. "And what say you in your defence?"
128. >She gives a light shrug
129. >Oh boy
130. >"What she says is mostly true."
131. >She looks over to give celestia a glare
132. >"But, let me ask you a question….Master. I may not have access to a majority of my magic or know the extent of your relationship, but I can easily tell that you have a strong emotional attachment to her. Am I correct?"
133. >You briefly look at the snow white mare, who is sharing you blush before turning your attention back to Chrysalis.
134. "Something like that yeah"
135. >Her face goes from the relatively smug yet neutral look she's had kept to one of deathly seriousness
136. >"Good. Now imagine you; her soul caretaker being forced to watch her waste away. Would you not flip the world on its head for her?"
137. >She had a point, when Celestia first came into your care she was in terrible condition.
138. >You nearly bankrupt yourself getting her all the care she needed but seeing her as happy as she is reminds you that you did the right thing.
139. >"I simply did what I must for my children"
140. >"You expect me to believe such a perfect sob story?"
141. >She cackles at Celestia's outburst
142. >"Believe whatever you wish princess, but I know when I've won over a heart. Isn't that right, master?"
143. >You notice she doesn't hesitate to say master this time
144. >She locks her deep emerald eyes with yours and gives you a quaint smile.
145. >Celestia huffs and hops off the couch.
146. >"This is your home Anonymous, ultimately what you say goes. And Chrysalis, I am a guest in this house."
147. >Her horn is enveloped in a soft honey colored glow as she opens the door to her room
148. >"As long as you have that ring on your horn. while in these four walls you're at best a prisoner with privileges."
149. >She slams the door behind her
150. >Prisoner?
151. >What did she mean by this?
152. "Tia, what does that even mean?!"
153. >You get no reply
154. “And you...”
155. >You turn to Chrysalis and throw your arms up and out
156. “What the hell dude?”
157. >She clambers down from the couch, takes a seat on the floor and sighs
158. >Well at least she knows you're not exactly happy with her at the moment
159. >She looks at you expectantly.
160. "Well?"
161. >She bites her lip
162. >"I….apologize if I inconvenienced you, mast-"
163. "Just... you don't have to call me that. Anon is fine."
164. >You rub the bridge of your nose.
165. >"I see. Then Anon, I can tell you're displeased."
166. "Understatement of the century bud."
167. >She recoil ever so slightly at the statement
168. >For the amount of confidence she gave off facing down Celestia she sure is jumpy
169. >"What shall my punishment be then?"
170. "Huh?"
171. >"When...a slave disappoints their owner they must be punished. Correct?"
172. >A hefty groan escapes from you
173. "That's not how...I...Y'know what, just go get all cleaned up and we'll talk about this later. The bathroom is at the end of the hall, all the stuff on the green shelf is mine, just use whatever you need on it for now.”
174. >She gives you a slight curtsy and takes off.
175. “Oh and the white shelf is Celestia's, please for both of our sakes just don't touch it."
176. >Her gaze lingers on you until she rounds the corner
177. >Weird
178. >Well Anon, only you would find not only the princess of the ponies but her archnemesis.
179. >Good job
180. >You make your way over to Celestia's room and knock before opening it slightly.
181. "Can I come in?"
182. >She looks over at you for a moment before laying her head back down, facing the wall opposite to you
183. >"Like I said earlier, it's your house. Do whatever you please."
184. >You can feel the brain train pulling into aneurysm station
185. "Please just give me a yes or no."
186. >She lifts her head and thinks for a few seconds.
187. >"Fine. BUT no petting. I'm not in the most pleasant of moods."
188. >The 'No petting' stipulation was usually her way of letting you know she's willing to negotiate on whatever she's mad about.
189. >Something about human fingers being an unfair advantage
190. >You plop down on the side of her bed and lean against the headboard.
191. "Is she really that bad?"
192. >"Yes."
193.
194. >You sit quietly for a few moments waiting for her to continue.
195. >She doesn't.
196. "Oh come on, aren't you supposed to be like the patron saint for forgive and forget?"
197. >She quietly shakes her head while hiding a smile.
198. >"Not exactly what I would call it, but sure. Listen Anon, she's been a thorn in my side for longer than this country of yours has existed. Even when her own subjects forsook her and moved on to a much less volatile lifestyle she refused to grow with them. Besides, her obviously false sob story about asking for my help was just an appeal for sympathy."
199. "Fair points all around and sure I have to take your word for it but, it's not like she has anything going for her here. No subjects, no power, not even a horn. Plus what can she even do if you're around to protect me?"
200. >She sighs
201. >"Nothing I guess, but I don't trust her as far as you could throw her."
202. >Wait a second
203. "I think you got that a little backwards there Tia, the saying is 'As far as I can throw.'"
204. >The small grin she was suppressing grows into a mischievous smile that fills you with dread
205. >"Oh I know, but I can throw her very...very…..very far."
206. >Oh right, magic
207. >You boop her on the nose
208. "There will be no horsie hammer tossing inside or outside of this house dammit."
209. >She tries to gives you a pouty look but can't maintain it and bursts into laughter
210. >You can't help but do the same.
211. >After a bit you both regain your composure
212. "But in all seriousness, please just give her a chance."
213. >You scoot a little closer so that her hip is touching yours.
214. "I'm not gonna ask for anything crazy, or for you to love her like family from the get."
215. >"Like I said, this is your home Anon. You-"
216. "Our home Tia, do you think i'd be in here asking your opinion if it didn't matter? You've lived here long enough to know better. Look, I won't beg or plead but if there really is no possible way you can stand her...I'll figure something out."
217. >She floats a remote over and turns on her TV.
218. >"I could never say I hate her or anything like that. I just dont think she has the capability to change, at least not for the better. She's always been an angry, fearless, bitter individual with no respect for others."
219. >Fearless eh?
220.
221. >Chrysalis may have been all fire and brimstone with Celestia but she's been pretty jumpy around you
222. "I think you're giving her a little too much credit. Besides that little display of her's, she's flinched every time I get too close."
223. >"Hmm."
224. >Celestia nods but sounds utterly unimpressed.
225. "Hell, she hasn't let me out of her sight since I got her. I think under that shell she's softer than you think."
226. >She furrows her brow and looks around, puzzled for a second before her eyes land on you
227. >"Was that a pun?"
228. "Huh? No, why?"
229. >"Because she's a changeling."
230. "I don't follow."
231. >You can feel the neurons in your brain firing at full power but they must be loaded with blanks
232. >"If you listened to me just once I'd be amazed. Changelings are insects, Anon. They have a hard but flexible outer shell."
233. "Ohhhhhhhh, well that would be a terrible pun."
234. >Celestia joins you on the brain pain train and rubs her temples.
235. >A short silence hangs in the air as she thinks for a moment.
236. >"Alright fine she can stay but, promise me that you'll listen to me more from now on. On top of that, keep a close eye on her."
237. >You scratch the back of her ear eliciting a few soft coo’s for a few seconds before hopping off her bed.
238. "I promise Tia, and I will."
239. >"Before you go, why are you so adamant on keeping her?"
240. >You take a few steps towards the door
241. "I dunno, I guess I just would hate for her to go through the things you had to."
242. >"Ever the noble one aren't you?"
243. "Of course M'lady. Oh and what the hell did you mean with the whole Andrew Ryan ass metaphor about how she's just a slave?"
244. >She chuckles
245. >"Just getting her head is all. Now as long as she has the anti magic ring on her horn...or lack thereof, and she sees that I don't have to wear one while we're home she'll understand the difference between us."
246. "And that difference is?"
247. >"Your implicit trust in me."
248. "For your deep belief in friendship and transparency you may be one of the shadiest people I know."
249. >The statement elicits a chuckle from her
250. >"I was a government official for thousands of years, it comes with the territory."
251. >She magics her blankets over her and turns up the TV.
252. >"Now get out of here, my show's on."
253.
254. >You oblige and make your way back into the living room to see chrysalis laying in front of the couch
255. >Her dark velvety coat without all the dust and dirt is a much deeper black than before and both her tail and mane are tied into high ponytails using hair ribbons that have sat unused for a long time
256. "Well don't you look nice and fancy."
257. >You head over to the fridge and grab the both of you some water before sitting back down on the couch.
258. >Her eyes follow your every step
259. >You sit the water between her front hooves and turn the TV on
260. >A couple minutes pass before she breaks the silence.
261. >"I'm...a bit confused ma- erm Anon. Is this some sort of game I'm misunderstanding?"
262. "Hmm?"
263. >"Did you not want me to be clean for your sake?"
264. >You lean back onto one elbow and scratch her between the ears.
265. >She tenses up and holds her breath for a few seconds before relaxing only slightly.
266. >You pull away your hand after realizing what your doing
267. "Oh, sorry. Force of habit, but what do you mean by 'game' and being clean for my sake? I just figured you wanna take a bath with all the dirt in your fur and from being cooped up in that shelter."
268. >She nods
269. >"I guess so but...I figured you wanted me to be presentable clean for you to take me as punishment."
270. >Huh
271. "Take you?"
272. >You take a sip of your water
273. >"You know, sex. With my horn broken, I figured my hair like this would make an appropriate handle. I also did my tail the same way for easy access."
274. >Never have you spit a drink so hard in your life
275. >There’s no way you didn't set a Guinness World Record
276. >On the inhale you breath in more water causing you to nearly hack up a lung
277. >Chrysalis just watches, her face is mostly blank but the look in her eyes is pure confusion.
278. >Once you recover enough mental faculty to process the last few hours leading up to this moment you give a long and hard stare into the obsidian colored mare's face trying to carefully formulate appropriate words for the situation
279. >Her eyes dart back and forth between yours awaiting whatever punishment she probably assumes is coming
280. >Of course one never will
281. >"I apologize for-"
282. >You hold up a hand to stop her
283. >You cough a few more times
284. "Relax for a moment. There's nothing to apologize for, you just caught me off guard."
285. >You get up from the couch and sit a few feet in front of her on the floor.
286. "Like I said when we first got home, you're not here for that."
287. >She continues to stare at you, her eyes narrow and her head slightly jerks forward.
288. "You look like you've got something on your mind. You're free to speak openly around here, in fact I encourage it."
289. >Her mouth hangs open for a few moments as she collects her thoughts
290. >"I am….skeptical, is this a test of my loyalty?"
291. >You shake your head
292. "Not at all."
293. >"I see."
294. >An awkward silence fills the air
295. >”If I may...speak candidly.”
296. >She pauses and waits for approval
297. “Please do.”
298. >”If I'm not here to fulfill you sexually, nor work for you. Why did you purchase me?”
299. “Ah yeah...about that.”
300. >You nervously chuckle and rub your neck
301. >This question had to come up sooner or later
302. “Well uh….you were...supposed to be a surprise companion for the lovely mare you met earlier.”
303. >”Oh.”
304. >Her ears flatten against her head and for the first time her eyes drift from you
305. >”I imagine I’ll be returned to the shelter?”
306. “Pffff, hell no. Do you have any idea how expensive you were?”
307. >She winces a little at the joke which makes you feel bad
308. “Sorry, that was in bad taste, but no I'm not gonna return you.”
309. >You scoop her up and deposit her back onto the couch
310. >At first she goes as stiff as a board but as you sit her on the couch she loosens up and her cheeks turn a light blue.
311. >Is that a blush?
312. “Let me level with you for a second. You can probably tell that Celestia isn't exactly giddy about you being here, but I can't just send you back there.”
313. >You pause for a moment and look at the door to Celestia’s room
314. “I've seen how bad it can get for you guys and I can't knowingly put a pony back into the awful lottery of shelter life.So I’ll tell you what I told her, you don't have to love her and be all buddy buddy with her immediately, but just try to get along.”
315. >She nervously paws at her water bottle
316. >”If that is what you wish for then I’ll do my best.”
317. >It doesn't seem like like she gets the memo
318. “It's not just about what I want, nor is it just about what Celestia wants. If you're gonna live here and be a part of this family, what you want is important too.”
319. >When you call her family her face soften slightly and her wings buzz lightly for a moment before snapping back down and the blue hue of her cheeks returns from earlier
320. >Fuck that's cute
321. >You aren't sure if your heart can take more of that
322. >But it wouldn't hurt to see it a few more times
323. “We’ll start small, what’s something you want right now?”
324. >She ponders for a moment before picking up her bottle of water
325. >”I would like to be able to drink this.”
326. “You don't know how to open a bottle?”
327. >....
328. >"I've….never had to, most of my water has been from a bowl or directly from a spigot."
329. >You can feel your heart drop a little, poor girl.
330. >You twist the top off for her and she chugs down the whole thing in one go
331. “Damn, would you like more?”
332. >”Y-yes please”
333.
334. >You get up and pour her a big glass so she doesn't have to worry about the twist cap
335. >While you're in the kitchen might as well get her some food.
336. “Are you hungry, when’s the last time you ate?”
337. >She puts a hoof to her chin and thinks for a moment
338. >”If I had to guess it’s probably been…. three months or so.”
339. >WHAT
340. “WHAT?"
341. >Chrysalis winces at your volume
342. >You can hear a muffled "Shut up, please" through Celestia's door
343. >Well at least she's polite about it
344. >"I'm sorry, I-"
345. "I don't know what you're about to apologize for but don't. Just come here for a sec."
346. >You wave her over and she takes measured steps into the kitchen
347. "Okay two things. One, stop apologizing so much. You're fine, if you want something ask for it. I'm not gonna bite or anything. Second, whatchya want to eat?"
348. >You swing open the fridge and she peruses its contents before grabbing the smallest apple you have.
349. >After some insistence on your part she takes a few more
350. >Once you both return to the couch she carefully guards them while she eats like someone might take them away from her.
351. >”Thank you.”
352. >You give her a polite smile
353. "No problem. How'd you uh, how'd you make it so long without food?"
354. >She begins to reply but is cut off by a Celestia answering for her.
355. >"She's a changeling, as long as they receive 'love' they don't need much food."
356. >She makes her way into the kitchen and rifles through the freezer.
357. "Thanks Tia? I was kind of asking her, also what do you mean by 'love'?"
358. >You look over at her pouring a decent amount of vodka into a glass of orange juice.
359. "And since when do you drink outside of parties?"
360. >She floats her drink behind her and makes her way back to her door
361. >"About since she got here a couple hours ago, plus it's just a little nightcap to help me sleep."
362. >Why is she being so unnecessarily dramatic?
363. >You'll bother her later about it
364. "Just, ignore her for now. What were you gonna say?"
365. >"No she's right. Changelings feed off of positive emotions mostly or rather...did…"
366.
367. >She sighs and looks out the window at the night sky
368. >You hadn't noticed how dark it had gotten till now
369. "Do you wanna talk about it?"
370. >She continues to stare wistfully at the stars
371. >"If you order me to tell you I will."
372. >The fatigue of the day finally sinks in as you lean back on the couch.
373. >You stare over at the shadow colored mare and really take in her silhouette.
374. >When you bought Celestia besides her size she was always visually striking with her flawlessly white coat and multicolored mane.
375. >Chrysalis gives you similar feelings but something about here feels different
376. >Something about that sad look resting in her viridian eyes was unlike most slave ponies you've seen, although you can't quite describe it.
377. >She's just….interesting to look at.
378. >Or maybe the word is mesmerizing
379. >It could be the exhaustion talking though.
380. "You tired?"
381. >She takes a moment to reply clearly lost in thought
382. >"I can stay awake as long as you need me too."
383. >You rub your eyes and stretch
384. "That's not what I asked."
385. >Not thinking you lazily each over and tousle her made
386. >She freezes up at your touch and her eyes immediately dart over to you.
387. "Dammit, sorry."
388. >"I'm your property Anon, do with me as you wish."
389. >You groan
390. "C'mon it's late."
391. >You wave for her to follow you into your bedroom.
392. "The mattress I bought for your bed wont be here till tomorrow , so for tonight you can sleep here."
393. >A look of reluctance sweeps across her face.
394. >"We'll be sleeping together then?"
395. >You pat her on the back and walk back to the door.
396. "Nah, till we get your room set up tomorrow it's all yours."
397. >Her eyes nervously scan the room.
398. >"You said I'm allowed to speak my mind, yes?"
399. >You nod
400. >"If I may be so bold, what's the catch?"
401. >You chuckle
402. "There is no catch. I'm gonna go pass out on the couch. If you need anything don't hesitate to come ask."
403. >Her eyes get a little misty and her breath hitches slightly but she does her best to keep her composure as stone-like as possible.
404. >"I-"
405. "Just get a good night's rest alright? If it makes you feel any better, the door locks from the inside."
406. >You turn the little knob and jiggle the door to prove your point
407. "Good night Chryssi and uh, welcome home"
408. >You can faintly make out small muffled noises from her after you close the door behind you and make your way to the couch.
409. >She's probably exhausted
410. >You lay across the couch and your mind fades into oblivion for the rest of the night.
411.
412. >You are a very confused bug
413. >And you most certainly didn't just finish crying, it was just the pollen from the fruit in your eyes
414. >About an hour ago your new owner left you to your own devices
415. >You wipe your eyes
416. >Surely this is some kind of trick to build you up before tearing you down
417. >You climb onto the soft bed and curl up in the center.
418. >The room is pretty chilly but the bed seems to radiate this aura of warmth and comfort
419. >You don't feel like you deserve this comfort after everything you did back home in equestria but, you'll revel in it for the moment and get some sleep
420. >You are-
421. >In so much pain
422. >God you need a new couch, sleeping on rocks and crushed glass would've been more comfortable
423. >Hopefully Chrysalis slept better than you did
424. >You stretch, head over to your room and knock
425. >No reply
426. >You carefully open the door and see your bug pony laying on top of the covers shivering.
427. >You can't help but shake your head
428. >She'll get it through her head eventually
429. >Carefully you tiptoe over and fold the blankets to make her into a warm bug burrito
430. >On your way out you see one of her eyes peak open and point at you as she groggily starts to stir in the blankets.
431. "You're okay, you can go back to sleep for a bit Chrys."
432. >"Why do you keep doing all these nice things for me yet ask nothing in return?"
433. >She's barely awake and her voice is quiet with a hint of morning gravel.
434. >"You don't want my services, nor my body. I have nothing else to offer."
435. "You're still on this huh? I'm being honest, I don't want anything from you."
436. >"I don't believe you Anon.”
437. >You take a seat on the edge of the bed
438. >I don't believe anyone would take care of me out of the goodness of their heart. I don't deserve it. Everything has a cost, Anonymous. Any time something good would happen to me one of my previous masters would repeat a saying ‘There is nothing more expensive than something free.’."
439. >As she continues to speak she starts to get louder and angrier, her voice is getting choked up and tears start to stream down her face
440. >She struggles out of her blanket cocoon and stands up
441. >Her bright emerald eyes are completely muddied by the amount of tears flowing out of them.
442. >"What the hell is going on in here? Anon, what did you do?"
443. >You glance over to see Celestia in the doorway looking back and forth between you and Chrysalis' rapidly deteriorating condition
444. >Her horn begins to glow its golden color and without thinking your hand reaches out to grab it
445. >Celestia winces at the sudden rough touch so you let go
446. "Shit, I'm sorry Celly. Just, hold on okay? Let me handle her, this is my fault anyway."
447. >She shakes her head and smirks slightly
448. >"We've gotta fix this whole making mares cry thing you've got going on. You're two for two bud."
449. "Harty har har Tia, time and place."
450. >She gives you a stern look
451. >You can tell she has no confidence in the situation but she trusts you enough to see where it goes.
452. >She huffs and pokes you in the chest
453. >"Fine, but so help me if she hurts you."
454. >You give her an unconvincing smile before turning back at the openly weeping mare standing on your bed.
455. "Hey Chrysalis, buddy. We're all family here, just relax and we can talk about it."
456. >Her wings flutter causing the same angry buzzing you heard during her first interaction with Celestia.
457. "No one's gonna hurt you."
458. >You slowly start to inch your way towards her and she slowly retreats at the same speed
459. >Is closing the distance a dumb thing to do?
460. >Probably
461. >"You keep saying that. That I'm okay, that you don't expect anything from me. You keep calling me family. If you're doing all this to hurt me, just hurt me. I can't take the anticipation anymore. I'd rather act out and have you punish me now than keep waiting."
462. >What does she mean all this waiting, it's literally been less than a day
463. >Has she not ever made it a day in someone’s custody without being assaulted?
464. >Just what has she been through?
465. >At this point she's sitting down after having backed up against the headrest and you're sitting about arms length from her.
466. >She's a pitiful sight with her bloodshot eyes and messy mane
467. >Reminds you of a few long nights with a certain other mare.
468. "Because, I do mean those things. I've never hurt Celestia on purpose and I won't knowingly hurt you either. Just relax and we can figure things out."
469. >You make sure to keep your voice calm and clear despite an uneasiness creeping up inside of you.
470. >"Then why won't you just return me so I can be useful somewhere. The only things I have left are my body and my ability to work, yet you refuse them both. My hive didn't want me, my previous masters didn't want me. I'm just a play thing to be used and thrown away. So use me, please!"
471. >You can't help but wonder how long she's kept this to herself
472. >Let alone how many people have driven those thoughts into her head
473. >You look back at Celestia who sitting in the doorway watching carefully
474. >Her face is completely blank as she surveys the entirety of the room and situation.
475. “Has no one ever just been nice to you before?”
476. >”Why would they be? I'm me, a slave and nothing more. I’ve lost my crown, my fangs, my magic.”
477. >She’s losing steam with each word almost as if it's fully hitting her all at once.
478. >Without thinking you outstretch your hand to comfort Chrysalis, earning yourself a nice bite between your pinky and wrist
479. >Instinctively you pull back your hand and grab her muzzle.
480. >Not hard enough to hurt her but firmly enough that she can't bite you again
481. "Ow, fucker!"
482. >She yelps and recoils the best she can, expecting retaliation while you hold her mouth shut
483. >"Anon!"
484. >The crackle of magic starts to fill the air and you hold up your other hand at Tia
485. >You give a quick inspection of the damage and while it's not pretty you probably won't need stitches.
486. "I'm fine Tia, I'm fine."
487. >Your brain wants you to be very angry about what just happened but this is not the first, nor worst pony inflicted injury you've received.
488. >You look back at the mare doing her best to cower in fear.
489. >You put a little force into your voice, enough to sound serious but not foreboding
490. "Hey there, I'm gonna let go now. Do not, bite me again. Okay?"
491. >She nods
492. >Her eyes are just pin pricks at this point
493. "I didn't hurt you, did I?"
494. >You let go of her muzzle and place the the uninjured hand on her cheek
495. >She flinched and spasms lightly at your touch.
496. >Her jaw visibly trembles
497. >"Hit me already! Why won't you just treat me like I'm supposed to be treated."
498. "What did I just say? I'm not gonna hurt you. Am I upset? Kinda. Is this the worst injury I've received from a pony? Definitely not."
499. >You look over at Celly who has a guilt look on her face
500. "You should see what that one over there has done to me."
501. >With the bloodied hand you point over your shoulder at the snow white mare.
502. >Chrys peers through her red, tired eyes at your face trying to read every little muscle movement.
503. >Being so worked up is taking its toll on her
504. >”W-what do you mean?”
505. >You stand up and pull off your shirt revealing a couple scars scattered across your arms before turning around and showing her a saucer sized burn mark across the back of your left shoulder.
506. >Celly's ears pin against her head.
507. >It's been a while since it happened but it was still a sore spot for her.
508. "I keep this pain in my ass around despite the dozen or so stitches and a second degree burn."
509. >Chrysalis eyes wander between you, celestia and your scars.
510. >"I... I don't understand."
511. "What part?"
512. >"All of it. Why do you not punish her after she's disobeyed you repeatedly?
513. Why do you let her do as she pleases? Why is she allowed to walk around without her god forsaken magic blocker? And....why did you pick me?"
514. >Celestia groans
515. >"I'm gonna go get the first aid kit."
516. >She gives Chrysalis a hellish glare before trotting out
517. >You slowly reach a hand out to carefully lift up Chrysalis' head and give her the best smile you can muster even with the throbbing pain in your hand.
518. "I've known Celestia for about 4 years at this point. I may have not bought her with the purest intentions but seeing her like she was drove me crazy. So I did everything I could for her and just over that time we grew close."
519. >"So...she's your marefriend and that's why she gets special treatment?"
520. >You chuckle and pat her on the side of her barrel
521. "Not exactly. Me and her are just friends now, and it seems to work out for us."
522. >"Even with all the times she's hurt you?"
523. "Even with all the times she will hurt me. Believe me, she's lazy, inconsiderate, shady, kinda an assh-"
524. >"Ahem, I can just put these supplies back and let you bleed out, you know?"
525. >You laugh
526. "But despite all that, I trust her because she's earned it."
527. >Celestia grabs your damaged hand in her magic and carefully begins dressing the small but bloody wound
528. >For how shallow the cuts look it's amazing how much it's bled
529. "Despite my laundry list of problems with her, she's pretty alright to hang out with."
530. >She pulls the bandaging extra tight when you say that making you wince
531. >"I still don't get it."
532. >You rub her cheek before placing your hand in your lap
533. "And that's okay, you don't have to understand. Oh, and to answer your last question, I'll be brutally honest, I don't know why I picked you out of all of the other ponies. Call it luck of the draw, but here you are."
534. >She still refuses to make eye contact and her body heaves with sniffles occasionally but at least she's stabilized
535. >"I'm sorry my problems became yours to bear. I promise I'll keep them to myself from now on."
536. >You very lightly bop her on the nose
537. "You're fine Chrys. Believe me, no one in this house is alone in having issues. I've got mine, Tia has hers and you have yours. You're free to talk about them whenever you feel like you need to. I'll be around to listen."
538. >A confused look washes over her face
539. "And, I'm sorry I tried to push being an individual on you so hard immediately, that wasn't fair to you when we haven't even known each other a full 24 hours. If you're willing, we can go a little slower."
540. >"Would it make you happy if I said yes?"
541. >Baby steps Anon, baby steps
542. "Yes, it would."
543. >"Then I will do my best mast- Anon."
544. >You give her a big smile and pat her on the head.
545. "And if you really wanna work, I'm sure I can figure out some chores for you."
546. >"Thank you."
547. "So no more biting?"
548. >She nods her head and wipes her eyes.
549. "Good girl then. I'm gonna grab some clothes and get dressed so we can head out to do some shopping okay?"
550. >You get up, stretch and inspect Celly's bandage job
551. >It's a little tight but you deserved that.
552. >"We? You mean you and Celestia, correct?"
553. "Nope! I mean all three of us. I don't know what you like so I don't feel right picking out bedding for you. Plus you need other things like towels,a toothbrush, stuff like that."
554. >"Can you please put your shirt back on? You're not impressing anyone with your boyish physique."
555. >That's it, you cant handle any more bullying from her
556. "Come ere you."
557. >You pick Celestia up and throw her over your shoulder making her squeal with laughter.
558. >"Oh no I am in trouble. If only a knight in shining armor would come and save me."
559. >Celestia hums her words in a slow and deadpan manner
560. "Now if you excuse me, I have to go deal with this massive headache."
561. >Celestia squirms in your grip as you carry her out of the room
562. ___________________
563. >You are a Changeling who is very tired and even more confused than before.
564. >You watch as Anon throws the mare on the couch and begins...tickling her?
565. >"This is what you get for mouthing off, you royal ass hat."
566. >Both of them laugh and laugh
567. >"Noooo stoooop. Anon I gonna pee stoooop!"
568. >After a minute or two she kicks him in the chest and he falls over.
569. >They stare at each other for a few seconds as he rubs his chest before they burst out laughing again.
570. >You…
571. >You want that
572. >You know it's wrong for you to want to be that happy
573. >The feeling starts to bury itself when you think about everything you've done before you were dragged onto earth.
574. >At best you're here for atonement
575. >At worst this is because tartarus wasn't cruel enough for you.
576. >You watch as your owner helps your ex-nemesis get up and pats her on the back.
577. >Anon is such a curious creature.
578. >Despite everything he urges you to be yourself
579. >The emotions that come off of him are as genuine as they get but...
580. >It just leaves you very...confused
581. >He really has been good to you since the shelter
582. >The only time he's raised his voice was when you….bit him….
583. >You feel a pit form in your stomach
584. >You continue to watch for a moment as the two of them sit there out of breath
585. >Anon catches you looking and gives you a thumbs up and a wide smile
586. >Something about him just makes you feel a way
587. >Maybe...
588. >Maybe you can trust him a little
589.
590. >You are Anon
591. >The greatest, the strongest, the most powerfullest.
592. >Powerfullest?
593. "Hey Tia, is powerfulest a word?"
594. >You look in the rearview mirror only to be greeted by her woahfully unimpressed visage.
595. >"I know I've asked before but are you sure you graduated from school?"
596. "Where i's is from mama always sed we aint needs no edumacation."
597. >"You're such a dork."
598. >Both mares give you a smirk but Chrysalis is very quick to realise what she's doing and hides it just as quickly.
599. "Hey you, I saw that."
600. >You slowly reach over and pat her on the head
601. >She flinches significantly less this time which makes you grin
602. "You're allowed to smile y'know?"
603. >You can see her nod out of your periphery
604. >"M- Anon...I'm sorry I bit you."
605. "I know you are, and it's kinda my fault anyway. Plus chicks dig scars so when I go to the bar I'm gonna say I got it by saving a puppy from a gang of alligators."
606. >Shit's gonna be so cash.
607. >If Celestia guffawed any harder she might've thrown up
608. >In fact she might've but you don't wanna check
609. "Okay you back there, settle down."
610. >"Anon, buddy, pal, friend. Name one girl you've talked to at length in the past year."
611. >You think for a moment
612. >"We don't count."
613. >Shid
614. “Her name’s…...Christia and uh, she lives in Canada. You wouldn't know her.”
615. >A loud snort followed by a sharp inhale draws the attention of both you and celestia
616. >You both look over at the mare in the passenger seat who is covering her mouth with both of her hooves and a nervous blush on her face
617. "Goodness, was that a laugh?"
618. >"Um..I..uh-"
619. >A grin spread across your face so hard that your cheeks hurt
620. "Well I'm glad someone around here appreciates my humor."
621. >She puts her hooves down and maintains a small but pleasant smile as you and Celestia banter about your totally thriving love life
622. >After a little bit longer you pull into the shopping center's parking lot
623. "Alrighty, do you remember everything I told you?"
624. >You look over at the Chrysalis whose cheeks are still a faint blue from embarrassment
625. >She nods
626. "Can you repeat them just to make sure?"
627. >She takes a deep breath
628. >"I have to stay on my leash but I'm allowed to look around. If I get overwhelmed, let you know so we can go somewhere to calm down. Don't be scared to ask you for things."
629.
630. >You give her a reassuring smile.
631. >She's a quick learner at least but that doesn't surprise you with how jumpy she can be.
632. "And you?"
633. >You look over at Celestia
634. >"C'mon, I know how to behave."
635. "Debatable. Now come on girls, let's get some shopping done."
636. >You get out and hook up Chrys' harness and Celestia's collar to their respective leashes
637. >You give Tia's anti-magic ring one last check, she knows well enough not to use magic in public but you don't need the hassle if some dick head security guard decides he needs to check.
638. >Chrysalis looks a little weird in a bright pink harness but it didn't feel right putting a collar on her so you just had her wear an old one Celestia didn't use anymore
639. >You get maybe 100 steps out of the car before you can feel Chrys start to get uncomfortable
640. >She's all but attached to your hip
641. >In retrospect you probably should've gone a little later when there were less people but, might as well play things by ear since you're here.
642. "How are you holding up?"
643. >"I'm….okay, I've just never been around this many people before."
644. >From what you can see there's maybe 20 people around.
645. >If that's a lot to her you can only imagine the conditions she's used to.
646. >She's a little shaky but so far so good.
647. >You head into a store called Plush n Stuff and look around for a bit.
648. >Some of the sales ponies keep making passes by the aisle you're in
649. >Weird, it's been like five or six years since you shoplifted here
650. >Probably new hires excited to see Tia or something
651. >Although the looks on their faces seem more worried
652. >You decide to ignore it
653. "See anything you like Chrysalis?"
654. >Tia butts in before Chrys can even open her mouth
655. >"How come you don't ask me that anymore?"
656. >Tia asks in a sarcastic tone and nudges you
657. "Because you always give me weird answers now shoo."
658. >She thinks it over for a second before shrugging and goes back to looking through the fluffy blankets.
659. >The original recipient of your question gives a huff of frustration
660. >"I'm...not sure."
661. >Probably not the best idea to push her too much on picking it.
662.
663. >Out of the corner of your eye you see a certain mare piling about a dozen duvets into the cart
664. >Not even covers, just the actual blankets
665. "Well, for right now just think about a color you like."
666. >You turn to the terror of credit card limits known as Celestia
667. "And what are you doing? Don't you have enough of these?"
668. >"Anon, there's no such thing as too many blankets."
669. "Yeah blankets, these are a little more than that."
670. >" I just like to be comfy, and I like when they're heavy."
671. >She flutters her eyelashes
672. >The audacity of some mares
673. >Wait, heavy?
674. >You suddenly remember something you suggested forever ago which she of course didn't listen
675. "Will you put them back if I get you a weighted blanket instead?"
676. >She gives you a head tilt and a raised eyebrow
677. >"A weighted blanket? Why am I just now hearing about this?"
678. "If you listened at all to me or your doctor, you've been told before. They're supposed to be really good for like anxie-"
679. >She gives you a hard poke in the gut with a hoof
680. "Ow! Okay, damn. Look if you put those back we can get you one alright?"
681. >While she pulls all her crap out of the cart you turn back to see Chrysalis has made zero head way.
682. "No luck?"
683. >She shakes her head
684. >It probably wasn't your grandest idea to throw her to the winds of exercising free will.
685. "I can pick for you for now and you can always change your mind later, if you want."
686. >She doesn't reply and just watches as you comb through the sets
687. >After a few minutes she speaks up
688. >"If I may, you and Celestia have a strange relationship."
689. >Your face scrunches and you give a hearty chuckle
690. "You think so?"
691. >She nods in your periphery
692. >"Forgive me if this is….too frank but, you seem to argue a lot yet neither of you seem actually upset when you do it."
693. "I think my hard head rubbed off on her. She gets on my nerves and makes me mad a lot but..."
694. >You look over to see Tia casually chatting to one of the sales ponies.
695. >She's got a wide smile as always but her eyes always seem a bit dull around other ponies.
696. >Not that you could ask her why but, it isn't hard to guess with what little she's told you.
697.
698. "I think it lets us both blow off some steam. It's easy to know why someone's upset with you when they can just say it. I prefer brutal honesty to polite secrecy."
699. >"Hmm."
700. >She seems satisfied with your answer
701. >It doesn't take long for you to throw something together plus the time to get her towels and a few other things.
702. >About twenty five or so minutes
703. >Being the tactical genius you are, you match her sheets to her colors
704. >Mostly cause it makes it easy to track who's laundry is who's.
705. >Tia has pink and white, you have green and black, chrysalis has black...and uh, green
706. >Huh
707. >You definitely didn't think that through
708. “You girls ready to move on?”
709. >"Sure, if the queen over there is satisfied."
710. >That was out of nowhere
711. >You take your purchases to the car and throw them in the trunk.
712. >Chrysalis is looking a little haggard
713. >She takes a few very long blinks and yawns
714. >That breakdown probably took more out of her than you thought
715. >Oh boy
716. "You doing alright there buddy? We can take a minute if you want."
717. >"No...yes er, I'm okay"
718. "Are you sure?"
719. >She nods and rubs her eyes
720. "Don't push yourself alright?"
721. >"Hey, she said she's okay.”
722. “Alrighty then, Where to?”
723. >Tia paces for a bit before making her decision
724. >”Maybe we can get some clothes to cover all of Chrysalis’ unsightly leg holes, plus I need some more hoodies and socks.”
725. “Dude? Uncalled for.”
726. >She shrugs
727. >”Whaaaat?”
728. “Chrys you know you’re allowed to give her hell right?”
729. >She gives you a sleepy smile
730. >”I’ve had much worse said about me.”
731. >You scratch her ears and much to her embarrassment and Tia’s annoyance she makes quiet chirping noises with her wings
732. >Hits you right in the heart man
733. >You continue for a bit as you follow Tia wherever she decided to go
734. >To save Chrys some embarrassment you stop as you reach your destination and look up at the sign
735.
736. “Tia.”
737. >”Yes?”
738. “We are not going into a Hot Topic.”
739. >She sighs
740. >“Why not?”
741. “Because I'm a grown ass man, If I go in there I'll immediately be arrested."
742. >She bites her leash and pulls you into the store with minimal effort
743. >Oh right she is an immortal goddess
744. >And just your luck Chrysalis looks enamored
745. “Well that's a new expression on you Chrys.”
746. >”Oh uh....”
747. >You cant help but laugh
748. "Lets go find some stuff you like."
749. >You look around and only see a pony at the checkout counter so you tuck the girls leashes away for a bit and let them wander for a bit
750. >You decide to follow Chrysalis around and pick up a few of the things she seems the most interested in when she moves on to the next thing
751. >She's about Celestia’s build so you just guess on sizes
752. >Tia sees you and unable to control herself intervenes
753. >”Whatchya got there, I thought you didn't wanna be in here?”
754. “I don't, but I know she won't ask for anything so I'm just grabbing some of the stuff she looks interested in.”
755. >”Ugh, what's so special about her to you.”
756. >She rolls her eyes and huffs indignantly
757. “I'm just being nice Tia, I did the same stuff for you remember.”
758. >”Yeah but I'm me.”
759. “Yeah unfortunately.”
760. >She looks back and forth between your eyes before huffing again and trotting off
761. >”Fine, enjoy your new toy.”
762. >Is she okay?
763. >Eh, whatever she’ll get over whatever this is
764. >Eventually you are able to drag Tia with a fraction of what she wanted to buy to check out and leave the store.
765. “Hey Chrys, do you wanna wear any of your stuff?
766. >”My stuff?”
767. >She gives you a very confused look
768. >You lift a couple of the shirts and hoodies out of the bag
769. “Yeah I grabbed some of the stuff you were looking at.”
770. >”I...Anon, you...I don't deserve those.”
771. >You tousle her silky mane and shrug
772. “Meh, I don't mind buying you some stuff. I knew you wouldn't ask anyway.”
773. >”Thank you.”
774. >She gets a little misty eyed but blinks it away.
775. >She yawns and looks like she’s not gonna maintain consciousness for much longer
776. >”Ugh, blegh. How about we get some food, I'm starving."
777. >She sure is acting more like a brat than usual.
778. "We've got food at home Tia. She looks exhausted."
779. >Tia sticks out a pouty lip
780.
781.
782. >"C'mon Anon we haven't eaten out in ages."
783. "Yeah, I guess that's true"
784. >"I'll be okay if you wish to stay out longer Anon."
785. >"See."
786. "Alright alright fine, where to princess?"
787. >Celestia sticks out her tongue at you and blows a raspberry
788. “Just pick somewhere you brat.”
789. >She gives you a smile and hems and haws for a few moments before picking a small restaurant near the edge of the plaza you used to frequent but haven't been recently on the account of all the over time
790. >It's a majority pony ran place so you remove the girls leashes and stick them in your pocket, you even turn off Tia’s ring
791. >You make it maybe two steps in before you're spotted by your favorite maître d in training
792. >”Anon and Tia!”
793. >A sandy brown filly with a dark brown mane sprints over to you and hops up into your arms almost knocking you over
794. “Ough, you're starting to get heavy Caramel Drop!”
795. >”Am not!”
796. >She lets out a few squeal of laughter as you spin around a few times before setting her down
797. >She wobbles her dizzy self over to Tia and gives her a hug
798. >Tia happily obliges
799. >By this point the real maître d; Cinnamon Heart, sees her daughter making a commotion and heads over
800. >”Long time no see folks, I see Caramel’s already cau- .”
801. >She does a double take freezes as she sees Chrysalis enter
802. >She picks up Caramel with her magic and places her behind the nearby counter before bracing herself
803. >”What’s THE changeling queen doing here?”
804. >Her voice is loud enough that most of the patrons are now looking in your direction
805. >Well you certainly didn't think this out
806. >Did Celestia know this would happen?
807. >The shit eating grin on her face tells you yes
808. >Chrysalis immediately slinks behind you
809. “Hey Cini, it's fine. She’s with me.”
810. >”That only brings up more questions Anon.”
811. >You get the feeling this is probably gonna be a common occurrence bringing Chrysalis
812. “I bought her yesterday and she's…not in the best shape but she's not gonna hurt anyone."
813. >You absolutely can't prove that
814.
815. >Cinnamon gives you a skeptical look and notices your bandaged hand which you stick in your pocket reflexively.
816. "Come on, you know I would never bring anyone dangerous around here. Especially not with Caramel here."
817. >Cinnamon thinks it over
818. >"I'm sorry Anon, but it's not fair to me, my staff or my customers for someone like her to be here. Almost everypony here has been affected by what she's done."
819. >Chrysalis droops her head and takes a few steps backwards towards the door
820. "If it's about my hand, that was my fault. I mean you've seen me in here with worse bandages."
821. >You can feel your blood begin to boil despite her having a point.
822. >"I'm sorry Anon but I can't. Not with her."
823. >The way she says her is filled with a venom you never would've expected she was capable of
824. "Fine, we'll leave. It was ....nice to see you and Caramel again I guess."
825. >She gives you a slightly remorseful stare but remains silent
826. >You make your way out and take a seat on the curb
827. >Frustration is all you feel
828. >"Well it's wonderful that we got kicked out of our favorite restaurant thanks to her."
829. >A storm of a headache starts to crowd your skull
830. “You knew this would happen didn't you?
831. >She feigns ignorance
832. >You should've known better with what Tia said
833. >But of course you didn't listen.
834. >"I'm sorry….master."
835. >You fill a pit growing in your stomach
836. >And she was doing so well
837. >You bury your face in your hands for a little bit
838. >After a few deep breaths you get back up
839. "We're going home."
840. >"Oh come on I'm sure we could just leave her in the car or something."
841. "Tia! I'm not in the mood."
842. >You say her name a little louder than you want and she jumps a bit
843. "I'll just...cook us something or whatever."
844. >It's a very long and silent walk back to the car.
845. "Are you happy with yourself Tia?"
846. >"Of course not, I didn't get to eat at my favorite restaurant."
847. "Dude, what's your malfunction? I'm used to you being kind of an ass but what's this shit?
848. >She huffs and lays her head down.
849. >The smug smile she's had up to this point fades away
850.
851.
852.
853. >"It's whatever, I'll talk to you about it later."
854. >It's all so tiresome when she gets pouty like this
855. >Was Chrysalis really that much of a pain to her?
856. >And even if she was, it doesn't take a genius to see she's not whatever she was before.
857. "Why not right now?"
858. >"Hmm"
859. >Well you're not gonna get any more from her
860. >You look over and see Chrysalis is slumped against the door fast asleep.
861. >The ride home is deathly quiet and feels like an eternity but you eventually arrive back at your humble abode
862. >Celestia is quick to storm off to her room before you can say anything.
863. >Chrys is still passed out so you carry her to your room and leave her on your bed.
864. >While you were gone her mattress was delivered so you drag that plus your bags in and get to work in the spare room building her bed frame.
865. >You throw on some music and revel on how nice it is to have some time to yourself for once.
866. >What are you gonna do with Celestia?
867. >Sure she acts like a kid sometimes but she's earned some angst with everything she's been through
868. >But getting kicked out of her favorite restaurant on purpose is a whole different level
869. >You decide it's better to just ask her later when she's cooled down, it's not worth getting all worked up about it.
870. >Probably an hour or so passes and you're mostly done with the frame when you feel a warm body press against your back and a sudden weight on your shoulder
871. >A pair of feathery wings partially wrap themselves around you
872. >"Hey."
873. >Her voice is very low and has a light shake to it like she just woke up.
874. "What?"
875. >At this point you're not even trying to hide your annoyance
876. >She gives you a light squeeze with her wings
877. >"Oh don't be like that."
878. >She croons lightly in your making you shrug her wings off your arms
879. "Celestia stop. What's your problem today?"
880. >She sighs and magics over your phone
881. >" Look at the date"
882. "The fifteenth?"
883. >"Anon, what exact day is it?"
884. "April fifteenth, what about it?"
885. >Tia is starting to get a bit worked up and backs away from you
886. >"Anon! What happened today ten years ago?"
887. >Oh
888. >...shit.
889. >"You forgot didn't you?"
890. >You absolutely did till right now but you can't just that
891. >She huffs and puffs her cheeks out
892. "I uh...look Tia, it's been a long past two days."
893. >It's the tenth anniversary of Equestria's complete and utter surrender.
894. >"I can't believe you forgot."
895. >Which for Celestia means it was the last time she ever saw her sister
896. >No wonder she's upset, she can't be as clingy as she normally is
897. "I didn't forget Tia."
898. >You turn around to face her as she storms out the room
899. >Of course you follow her
900. "Come on Tia, I'm sorry. I've been busy for the last few months working overtime for you, plus trying to get Chrys acclimated to living here. It just slipped my mind."
901. >She turns around and slowly strides over towards you.
902. >The somber look on her face is replaced with disdain
903. >"For me? I didn't ask for you to do any of this for me Anon. I was perfectly happy with it being just you and me."
904. "Tia, you know that I know that's BS. I see that look you give me everytime I leave the house without you, even if it's just for a little bit."
905. >She recoils slightly at the last part.
906. "Look, I'm sorry I forgot okay? And I know this is always a rough week for you, but you can't just keep being a brat in the hopes that she goes away."
907. >”I can and-”
908. >Almost on queue Chrysalis walks out of your room rubbing her eyes.
909. >Unfortunately Tia sees her too
910. >"I can't even have ten minutes alone with MY Anon."
911. >Wait
912. "Your Anon?"
913. >Not this shit again
914. “Tia come on.”
915. >She loudly groans and angrily paces to her room, slamming the door
916. >Chrys' ears lay back slightly
917. >You knock on her door a few time to no avail
918. “Just talk to me Tia.”
919. >You keep knocking but get no answer
920. >"Did I interrupt something?"
921. >You rub your hand down your face.
922. "Yes...No... I don't know. I fucked up is all Chrys."
923. >"Hmmm."
924. "Not a mare of many words are you?"
925. >A small but cute smile finds itself on her face
926. >"I just know when I should and shouldn't speak.”
927. >You pat her on the head
928. "Teach me that sometime. Oh, wanna help me with your room?"
929.
930. >She gives you a polite nod and follows into her room
931. >The smile on her face is small but persistent.
932. >You sit back down and turn on some music
933. "Alright uh, the screws are in order so just hand me whichever ones I ask for, please and thank you."
934. >She investigates the pile of screws for a moment
935. >"Would you prefer I use my hooves or mouth?"
936. "Oh, just use your ma….."
937. >Oh….right
938. "Uh actually nevermind, just sit tight and hang out if you want.”
939. >Her smile wanes and her ears droop once again
940. >”Oh...sorry.”
941. >Good job Anon
942. “No...you’re fine.”
943. >Her eyes drift off and your back to the same silence from before Tia came in
944. >Only more solemn
945. >The haunting melody is the only sound filling the still atmosphere of your three bedroom flat
946. “Hey, hand me one of the B Four screws.”
947. >You place out a hand and give her a warm but expectant look
948. >Chrys’ face twists from somber to confusion and her lips part like something is on the tip of her tongue
949. >”I thought you-”
950. >A defeated grunt escapes as you exhale and hang your head
951. >Why are you being so awkward
952. “Sorry Chrys, I'm a little scatter brained at the moment.”
953. >She carefully obliges your request gives you the screws
954. >As you work she diligently hands you what you need
955. >The song repeats a few time because you're too lazy to change it
956. >But also you're just kinda feeling it at the moment
957. >Around the fourth or fifth repeat you notice a very quiet whisper and buzz accompany the music
958. "Like the song?"
959. >Chrysalis' eyes widen for a second
960. >"Oh, I uh...I didn't notice I was doing it."
961. >There's a slight blush on her face
962. "You don't have to stop. It's kinda nice."
963. >At this point you're beginning to blush too
964. >You are the king of awkward interactions
965. >But the notion seems to plaster a warm smile across her face.
966. "Is singing something you used to do a lot?"
967. >"Not...particularly. A long time ago it was mostly singing cadences for morale or training but..."
968. >She trails off and gets a glassy far off look in her eyes
969. "Sorry, I should know better than to ask about your home."
970. >Without missing a beat she gives you a somber reply
971. >"Equestria hasn't been my home for a long time, even before the war."
972.
973. >Oh man
974. "Oh."
975. >"Sorry that was-"
976. "No no you're alright.I told you that you can talk to me about that stuff right?"
977. >"You did but...I think I'd rather not."
978. >She looks back to the floor
979. "That's fine too."
980. >You grab your phone and pause the song before looking at the time
981. >It's a little before 7:30
982. >Besides putting on the mattress and bedding, Chrys' bed is basically done.
983. "You hungry?"
984. >She tilts her head side to side as she thinks
985. >"Not for food per say…"
986. >She nervously paws at the carpet
987. "Oooookay? What for then?"
988. >She jolts slightly and her eyes dart around
989. >"Oh uh, nevermind. I didn't say anything"
990. >Alright now she's being weird
991. >Hmmm
992. >Oh right Tia mentioned something about changelings not just eating normal food
993. >What was it again?
994. "Is it about the whole eating emotion thing Celestia mentioned?"
995. >Chrys kind of recoils into herself
996. >"Mmmmm...yes but you've done so much for me, I'd feel ungrateful for asking more of you…"
997. "I bought you Chrys. Providing for your well being is kinda my job, especially if it's a necessity for you."
998. >Her demeanor fades as her mouth gapes slightly while she tries to formulate her words.
999. >"Changelings…...require love to survive.."
1000. >You can almost see the wheels turning in her head as she methodically choses each word
1001. >"There are many ways to express that, be it…..physical or ambiently. Physical is typically the strongest but-"
1002. >You visibly recoil at the thought of plowing the poor abused pony er, changeling in front of you.
1003. "I uh, don't think I'm comfortable having sex with you Chrysalis."
1004. >A vivid blush sprawls across her cheeks
1005. >"That's ...understandable, I guess without my magic I can't make myself look more appealing…"
1006. >She looks down at her hooves
1007. "What do you mean?"
1008. >She clears her throat
1009. >"Well changelings like our name implies, can change our form. Our natural shape isn't very….aesthetically pleasing to most."
1010. "I think you look fine."
1011. >Upon hearing that, Chrysalis freezes and the blush returns In full force
1012.
1013. >Did you say something weird?
1014. >"….A-anyway, physical does not only imply sexual contact."
1015. "Then like, hugs and stuff?"
1016. >She nods
1017. >"Or um, that thing you did….when we were out today."
1018. >She looks down at your hands
1019. >Ponies just can't get enough of the magic fingers huh?
1020. >You cant stop yourself from laughing, earning you a confused look
1021. “It's not gonna hurt is it?”
1022. >”It shouldn't.”
1023. >We’ll that’s reassuring
1024. >You pat the ground next to you and she carefully drifts closer before plopping down just within your reach
1025. “You can move closer I won't bite”
1026. >She flinches a bit at your comment before worming her way a little closer
1027. >Enough that you can feel her body heat against your leg
1028. >You reach out, nest your fingers at the base of her ear and gently scratch with your magic touch
1029. >The tightly wound drum that is Chrysalis begins to unwind just a little
1030. "Am I doing it right?"
1031. >Her wings happily chirp and buzz
1032. >She simply responds by pushing into your hand
1033. >”Mmmmm.”
1034. >A warm sensation envelopes your chest
1035. >Like every hug you've ever received at once
1036. >This better not awaken anything in you
1037. >Just as quickly as the feeling comes it subsides and Chrysalis pulls away with a slight shiver
1038. "Was it good for you too?
1039. >She turns to you with a furrowed brow but a wide grin
1040. >"You really are a peculiar one."
1041. "Says the almost six foot tall bug who just had an orgasm from ear scratches”
1042. >”Hey! I- I didn't...”
1043. >You ruffle her mane
1044. “I'm just messing with you Chrys. Do you feel any better?”
1045. >She nods
1046. >”Yes...um, I appreciate what you've done for me.”
1047. >She looks up at you
1048. >Her emerald green eyes have a shimmer to them like never before
1049. “Don't mention it. Now, how’s your cooking skills?”
1050.
1051. >"It's been some time since I've done it but I'll do my best for you."
1052. "For me eh?"
1053. >She flaps her wings and has a deeply embarrassed look on her face.
1054. >You chuckle as you get up and make your way to the kitchen
1055. >She follows close behind, humming the song from earlier as she goes.
1056. “Sooo uh, how often do you have to do that?”
1057. >”Not very. A little bit goes a long way, and you've given me a lot to work with.”
1058. >Both of you let out an uncomfortable chuckle
1059. “Oh yeah?”
1060. >You give her a few head pats which relaxes her a bit
1061. >”S-Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply anything by that."
1062. "You're fine, I can handle a little teasing."
1063. >You open the fridge and scan through what you have.
1064. >After some hem hawing you throw a big ole bag of cheese ravioli and some ingredients for sauce on the counter
1065. "Think you can handle this?"
1066. >She looks over everything you've put on the table.
1067. >"I think I can handle boiling water."
1068. >A wide grin finds itself creeping across your face
1069. >Was that back talk?
1070. "Well someone's feeling a little saucy."
1071. >She realizes her tone and shrinks back slightly
1072. >"Oh I- I didn't."
1073. "You're fine Chrys, If anything I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to be sassy."
1074. >You scratch her ear as you dig out a few pots and pans
1075. "So, what parts do you wanna do?"
1076. >She puts a hoof on her chin to think for a moment.
1077. >"Actually, you've done so much these past two days. Let me at least earn my keep."
1078. >She awkwardly bats her eyes
1079. >You lean on the counter and raise an eyebrow
1080. >Please don't be sexual please dont be sexual please don't be sexual
1081. >”Let me cook for you.”
1082. >Oh, well that's reasonable
1083. “You sure you can manage that, without...y’know?”
1084. >You tap your forehead just about where her horn is
1085. >She touches the metal ring around her horn very tenderly
1086. >”I am sure. I promise I'm capable.”
1087. >She gives you a reassuring smile
1088. “I promise I'll take it off eventually, probably once you've been around a little longer.”
1089. >She nods and picks up the knife in her mouth
1090. >It’s almost scary how well she’s using it to dice up one of the tomatoes you laid out.
1091. “You sure you're okay making dinner for us all?”
1092. >She stops for a moment to nod
1093. "And no spitting in Tia's food, okay?"
1094. >Chrys gives you a hardy snort of laughter and places the knife down
1095. >”I wasn't aware that was an option.”
1096.
1097. >You point two fingers at your eyes and then back to her a couple times as you laugh
1098. “Well if you've got things handled here, I'm gonna try to see if i can patch things up with Tia a bit.”
1099. >She picks the knife back up and continues with her duty
1100. >You make your way over to Tia’s door and compose yourself
1101. >Hopefully the hole you've dug isn't too deep to get out of
1102. >You knock
1103. “Can we talk Tia?”
1104. >Unsurprisingly no answer
1105. “I'm gonna open the door and if you're in a compromising position it's your own fault.”
1106. >You wait a few seconds before opening the door
1107. >To your surprise she’s staring right at you, as if she could see through the door
1108. “Hey”
1109. >You give an awkward wave
1110. >Still nothing, but her scornful magenta eyes bore a hole through you
1111. >She stays quiet as you approach and sit on her bed
1112. “Just gonna give me the silent treatment?”
1113. >You gently reach over and remove her anti-magic ring before tossing it lightly onto one of the bean bag chairs in the corner of her room
1114. “You really have nothing to say to me?”
1115. >”I have a lot to say to you Anon, but it doesn't matter.”
1116. >You lay back on her bed, letting one leg hang over the edge
1117. “Tia, what you say always matters. I mean, I can't get rid of her but-”
1118. >”It's not just about her...”
1119. >You put a hand out to pet her but retract it
1120. “Then help me understand Celestia.”
1121. >Her expression falters slightly
1122. “Does it have to do with you calling me ‘Your Anon’ earlier?”
1123. >She stiffens and her ears droop
1124. >”You heard that?”
1125. “Of course I did.”
1126. >You sit up
1127. "For what it's worth I'm sorry I didn't talk to you about it first, but what do you want me to do now?"
1128. >She opens her mouth to speak but you stop her
1129. "Besides getting rid of her."
1130. >"Why ask then?"
1131. >A migraine begins to form
1132. "I'm just trying to be diplomatic. Come on, she's doing her best here and it's not like I'm going anywhere either."
1133. >"Why her?"
1134. "Because I figured with how awkward you get around other ponies and I thought maybe if I could find an alicorn you'd be more comfortable. That and I have a very loose grasp on pony anatomy."
1135. >She smirks slightly
1136. >"You're telling me."
1137.
1138. “Hey! You never had any complaints back then.”
1139. >You poke her in the ribs making her squirm and stifle a laugh
1140. “Please just try, if not for her then for me?”
1141. >She groans and rolls her eyes
1142. "Okay fine, why not?"
1143. >"Because I don't want to be around her, Anon."
1144. >You rub your temples
1145. "Give me a real reason."
1146. >”It doesn't matter.”
1147. “It does to me.”
1148. >”It shouldn't”
1149. “Tia I can't let you just sulk away in your room and bully her for the rest of eternity. Give me a real reason , I’m nothing if not understanding, but I can't understand if you don't tell me.”
1150. >She sits up with an exasperated exhale and looks you in the eyes
1151. "You want a real reason? Fine, besides making my life exceedingly hard back in Equestria she's nothing more than a reminder of everything I've lost. I cannot lose you too Anon.”
1152. “Seriously, is that what this is actually about Tia? You think I have a thing for her and that's why I want you to be nice?”
1153. >She doesn't reply but gives you an indignant look
1154. “I don't want you to be nice to her because I have a thing for her, I-”
1155. >”So you do have a thing for her?”
1156. >Do you?
1157. >You haven't really taken the time to consider how you feel about her
1158. >Her stare feels like daggers on your skin
1159. “You know what I meant, I just want you two to be happy and comfy. I'm sorry I fucked up but you aren't exactly helping either y’know?”
1160. >You're not trying to be loud but you can't help it
1161. >You take a few deep breaths to cool off
1162. “Just, do you really think that little of me? That I’d just hop into a relationship with some new mare?”
1163. >”That was why you bought me originally, no?”
1164. >You feel like your heart stops for a moment
1165. “Things were different then Celestia. Not to mention I wouldn't so much as touch you without asking.”
1166. >" Yet you've been all over her."
1167. >She's got you there
1168. "It's...a bad habit I know, but I have no desire to do anything more. I've already set her straight on that."
1169. >"Have you now?"
1170. "I have. How come you don't trust me?"
1171. >With a huff she rolls and places her head in your lap
1172. >"Fine, whatever. I have one condition."
1173. >If you weren't in dire straights before you absolutely are about to be
1174. "Oookay?"
1175.
1176. >She pops her head up and gives you a scary smile
1177. >You feel like you're visibly sweating
1178. >"If you really have no impure intentions you'd have no problem doing to me whatever you do to her then?"
1179. >You let out a deep and long groan
1180. "If I say yes will you be less of a pain in my ass than you are right now?"
1181. >She takes her hoof and mimes an X over her chest
1182. "Fine, fine."
1183. >You get up and walk to the door but the second your hand rests on the knob, you're back on the bed.
1184. "Can I help you?"
1185. >"This is a retroactive contract just so you know."
1186. "I mean, I guess I could tie you up in the back seat and do a few laps around the neighborhood if you want."
1187. >She laughs and rolls her eyes.
1188. >Hopefully she keeps her end of the bargain and behaves.
1189. >"Not that you dork. Scratch my ears."
1190. "How'd you know about that?"
1191. >"Anon, the walls in this house are thinner than paper. I can hear you jerk off at three a.m. two rooms away"
1192. >You can feel the blood rush to your face
1193. "And you've never said anything?"
1194. >She giggles and winks at you
1195. "Anyway! Let's get this over with, dinner is almost ready."
1196. >She crawls into your lap and you let your hands do their magic
1197. >Tia loudly coos, probably so Chrysalis can hear
1198. >After a few minutes Tia seems pleased so you lightly push her off
1199. “Pleased?”
1200. >”As punch.”
1201. >She does genuinely look happier than earlier
1202. >You get up and open the door, only to be greeted by one Chrysalis sitting patiently
1203. “Dinner ready?”
1204. >”Yes. I would've let you know earlier but I didn't wanna interrupt you two in the middle of-"
1205. >You put up a hand to stop her
1206. "I promise we weren't doing anything half as lewd as you might think."
1207. >Almost on queue Tia squeezes by and swats your ass with her tail as she walks off
1208. "Chrys you wouldn't happen to know how to hide a body would you?"
1209. >She gives you a surprised look for a moment before realizing you're joking
1210.
1211.
1212.
1213.
1214. >”I’ve dabbled.”
1215. >”Pfffff. Gotta say not the answer I expected.”
1216. >”I guess I’m full of surprises.”
1217. >Chrys pleasantly smiles and you pat her on the head/
1218. >Tia doesn't see it but you'll pay it forward when you can
1219. >The two of you catch up with celestia, who is on the couch in front of one of the bowls of food on the table
1220. >You take a seat next to Tia and Chrys sits on the floor next to you
1221. "You can sit on the couch, you know?"
1222. >"I know."
1223. >Weird
1224. >You look over at Tia who has a mouthful of the pasta and a pleased look on her face.
1225. >"This is uncharacteristically good for you Anon."
1226. >You pat her on the head to keep your promise
1227. "First of all, ow. Second of all, probably because I didn't cook it."
1228. >"Huh."
1229. >She takes a few more bites and you do the same
1230. >"So then, where'd you order it from?"
1231. >Much to your surprise Chrys speaks up for herself
1232. >"Actually, I made it."
1233. >Tia gives you a betrayed look before turning her gaze to the mare on the floor
1234. >"You made this?"
1235. >Chrys gives her a smirk
1236. >"Is that a problem princess?"
1237. "Girls, please don't fight."
1238. >Tia eyes you for a moment before returning her gaze to Chrysalis.
1239. >”I guess not.”
1240.
1241.
1242. >Well...at least she’s not being openly hostile
1243. >And damn this pasta is good
1244. "Where'd you learn to cook?"
1245. >"Changelings are nothing if not adaptable, not to mention it being a necessity with some of my previous owners."
1246. >As good as an answer as any
1247. >You shrug and continue stuffing your face
1248. >The three of you sit in relative silence, enjoying the food
1249. >Or in Chrys’ case enjoying others enjoying your food
1250. >The quiet lasts until you get fed up and turn the TV on
1251. >Quickly flipping past all the news channels celebrating, trying to find literally anything worthwhile
1252. >To no one's surprise there's nothing interesting so you just put on some music.
1253. >Why do you pay for cable again?
1254. >You shovel more of the premium pasta into your mouth
1255. >"Hey Chrys, is cooking something you enjoy?"
1256. >She rubs a hoof against her chin as she thinks about it
1257. >As her eyes squint and dart around, you can almost see the gears turning.
1258. >"May I ask you a question first?"
1259. >You nod
1260. "Sure."
1261. >"Is my cooking something you enjoy?"
1262. >Tia groans as you pat both of your ponies on the head
1263. "You don't have to do something just because I enjoy it, but yeah it's pretty good."
1264. >Chrysalis gives you a sweet smile and a short buzz of her wings.
1265. >"Then I would be happy to continue, if that's alright.”
1266. >She aims the last part at Celestia, who raises an eyebrow but ultimately says nothing
1267. >Eventually you both finish your food and Tia teleports the bowls into the sink
1268. >She lays her head on your lap and makes herself comfortable
1269. >Her mane slowly shifts from its typical ethereal shape into a more traditional tricolored one
1270. >You run your fingers through her mane
1271. “How are you tired? You haven't done anything all day.”
1272. >She looks up at you and her horn lights up.
1273. >"It's the kind of tired sleep won't fix."
1274. >A few seconds later you see a honey colored glow out of the corner of your eye.
1275. >You turn towards the fluorescence and put your hand up to catch the slowly approaching brush.
1276. "Is there something you want me to do with this?"
1277. >She gives you a blank stare
1278. >"I made my mane nice and normal and gave you a brush. So clearly I want you to put it in my butt Anon."
1279. >You shrug and give her a mischievous grin
1280. "Wouldn't be the first time."
1281. >"Anon!"
1282. >Out of the corner of your eye you can see Chrysalis trying and failing to keep it together.
1283. >Tia blushes visibly beneath her fur
1284. >You pat her barrel
1285. "I dont think I’ve ever seen you embarrassed before."
1286. >"I'm not one for public performances."
1287. >Smooth recovery
1288.
1289. >You squirm into a more snug position and oblige Tia’s request
1290. >Her mane is unbelievably knotted and you can barely get the brush through it
1291. “Tia, when’s the last time you brushed your hair?”
1292. >”The last time I took a shower.”
1293. “And when was that?”
1294. >All you get in reply is an incoherent mumble
1295. "Have you showered this week at all?"
1296. >"Define 'this week"."
1297. >You sigh as you hit another pocket of matted hair
1298. "Take care of yourself more Tia."
1299. >"I have you to do that for me."
1300. "I can't take care of you forever Tia."
1301. >She stretches out her legs and lets out a groan
1302. >"We'll see about that."
1303. >You laugh and poke her in the ribs making her squirm and giggle.
1304. "You keep saying that, yet I'm still getting older. Listen, if you're gonna make me immortal please do it before I'm out of my prime."
1305. >"Maybe I like my men a little more distinguished with a little gray to their hair."
1306. " You've given me enough gray hairs as it is."
1307. >You rake through another patch of knots as gently as you can and Tia winces a little
1308. >"That may be true but you still love me."
1309. >Such a pompous brat
1310. >You look over at Chrysalis who's been quiet this entire time
1311. >She's watching the brush intently, as it combs through the step above a rat's nest that is Tia's mane.
1312. "Celly, I mildly tolerate you."
1313. >Your voice causes Chrysalis to look up at you
1314. >As soon as her eyes catch yours she looks away with an embarrassed expression
1315. >Heart_palpitation.exe
1316. "Enjoying the show, Miss Chrysalis?"
1317. >She jumps slightly and blushes even deeper
1318. >"I- um just thought it looked very saccharine and peaceful."
1319. >Tia huffs
1320. >"It was."
1321. "Hush, you."
1322. >”Mmm.”
1323. >Tia squirms around to make herself more comfortable
1324. >”What time is it?”
1325. >You check your phone
1326. “A little after nine.”
1327. >She yawns
1328. >You yawn
1329. >Chrysalis yawns
1330. >You yawn again
1331. “God dammit guys quit it.”
1332. >It happens again
1333. >The girls both snicker which makes you smile
1334. >Looks like they CAN agree on something
1335. “Alright we gotta do something about this, I'm not letting today be a total bust.”
1336. >Tia squirms in your lap
1337. >”Yeah but I'm tired and my hair is still messy, can’t we do whatever it is tomorrow? Plus everyone is probably y'know, out celebrating."
1338. >She lets out a deep sigh and rolls on her back
1339. >Think Anon think
1340. >There's gotta be something to salvage today
1341. >"Don't think too hard."
1342. >Tia taps you on the bottom of your chin with a hoof.
1343. "You're insufferable."
1344.
1345. >Chrysalis’ light humming makes you look over
1346. >She gives you an innocent smile
1347. >”You two are very interesting.”
1348. >”How so?”
1349. >Tia’s voice has a measure of genuine curiosity for once, but a some smugness still remains
1350. >You can see panic on Chrysalis’ face for a moment but she steels herself
1351. >”Well um...you two have both assured me you aren't in a relationship, yet-”
1352. >She pauses for a moment to read your faces before continuing
1353. >”You two seem much closer than you say.”
1354. >Tia gives you a pouty face
1355. >”Yeah Anon, why is that?”
1356. >Oh no they're ganging up on you
1357. >Uhhhhh
1358. "You girls wanna watch a movie?"
1359. >Supreme deflection
1360. >They both quietly stare at you
1361. >You quietly stare back
1362. "I uh, it's...it's nothing."
1363. >"Really, it's nothing?"
1364. >Tia sits up from your lap
1365. >"I'm sorry, I pried into something I shouldn't have."
1366. >You slide down into the couch and scratch Chrys on the chin
1367. "You're fine
1368. >Her somber expression lifts a little
1369. >You try to do the same to Tia but she lazily ducks your hand.
1370. "Really, you're that mad?"
1371. >"I'm not mad."
1372. "You're acting like you are."
1373. >She blows a few loose strands out of her face
1374. >"I think I'm gonna go to bed."
1375. "Did I say something wrong?"
1376. >"Night."
1377. >With a dim flash she disappears
1378. >You look over at Chrysalis
1379. "What did I say?"
1380. >She clambers onto the couch and pats you on the back
1381. ”Welp, anything you wanna do?”
1382. >”I’m fine just sitting here and, um... sorry for ruining the night.”
1383. “You’re fine, she’s just huffy cause of what today is.”
1384. >You rustle her mane which makes her grin
1385. >”You should probably go talk to her.”
1386. “And get myself in more trouble?”
1387. >She gives you a half hearted smile
1388. “It's probably better if I just leave it and apologize tomorrow when she’s less upset.”
1389. >Chrys stays quiet with a neutral expression
1390. “Okay okay fine.”
1391. >You get up and make your way to Tia’s door
1392. >You knock a few times and get no reply
1393. “Hey, I know you're not asleep already.”
1394. >No reply
1395. “Tia?”
1396. >You wait a little but but still no reply so you open the door
1397. “Hey I-”
1398. >She’s not in there
1399. >Uhhh
1400. >Let's not panic just yet
1401. >You check your room next
1402. >No sun horse either
1403.
1404. >Panic time?
1405. “Yeah, it’s panic time.”
1406. >Wait, did you say that last part out loud?
1407. >”Something wrong Anon?”
1408. “Ummm, Tia is gone?”
1409. >Chrys gives you a very confused look
1410. >”W-what do you mean she’s gone?”
1411. “She's not in my room or her room.”
1412. >You open Chry’s room and peak in
1413. >No such luck
1414. “Hey Chrys, ever seen a panic attack before?”
1415. >”No but I don't think I want to.”
1416. >Come on dont think just move Anon
1417. >You quickly run over to the door and grab your keys
1418. “Come on, we're leaving.”
1419. >She quickly trots outside with you
1420. >You slam the door behind the two of you and help Chrys into the car as fast as you can
1421. >And the search begins
1422. >A couple laps around the neighborhood prove fruitless
1423. >Come on Tia
1424. >You swing by the shopping center from earlier.
1425. "See anything Chrys?"
1426. >"Hmmmm no. Is there somewhere important to her that she could've gone to?
1427. "Not that I can think of. What did I even do for her to pull a stunt like this?"
1428. >Why would she even do something like this?
1429. >"You two were once an item right?
1430. "Yeah, but that was a while ago and things are complicated now. What's it got to do with this?"
1431. >You pull off to the side of the road and put the car in park
1432. >"Well, you kinda sorta implied your current relationship is nothing to you."
1433. "Oh."
1434. >You bend forward and rest your forehead on the steering wheel
1435. "I'm a dumbass aren't I?"
1436. >You sigh and sink into your seat a little
1437. >A couple fireworks explode in your peripheral vision, off in the distance
1438. >"I've only known you for just over a day so I can't really say... but I think you mean well."
1439. "Pfff, thanks. God, where the hell is she?"
1440. >"Don't most ponies have tracking chip implants?"
1441. >You're an idiot
1442. >To your credit youve never had to use the app before so you completely forgot you even had it
1443. >You quietly slide your phone out of your pocket
1444. >She's at a nearby park
1445. "I could kiss you right now Chrys."
1446. >She lets out a small giggle.
1447. >"I appreciate the sentiment but I'd rather not get you in any more trouble."
1448. >You can't help but return a laugh
1449. "Yeah that's fair."
1450. >You put the car back in drive and use the speed signs as mere suggestions
1451.
1452. >It doesn't take long to arrive at the park
1453. >You see a few groups of people scattered around watching the fireworks
1454. "There's way to many people here for Celestia to just be hanging around unnoticed."
1455. >Chrysalis hums in agreement
1456. >"She doesnt have her ring on right?"
1457. "No, I took it off before dinner. Why?"
1458. >You pull into the closest parking spot and continue looking.
1459. >"Well, Celestia is no fool. I don't think she'd waltz around as a pony."
1460. "Your point?….oh"
1461. >Right as it clicks you see a lithe young woman sitting on a fence looking opposite of the rest of the crowed.
1462. >She's not very far so you can easily make out her rosy pink hair and the little bit of ambient light gives you a clear enough view of her face
1463. "Found her."
1464. >Chrys follows your gaze to your target
1465. >"What are you going to say?"
1466. >You think for a moment as you lean back and close your eyes
1467. >Really what can you say?
1468. >Well besides 'sorry' and 'please come back'
1469. >What if you can't convince her?
1470. >You can't drag her kicking and screaming
1471. >"Are you alright?"
1472. >You look over at chrysalis who is lightly tapping you on the shoulder and has her head cocked to the side slightly.
1473. >A half hearted laugh escapes from you.
1474. "Yeah... yeah. I think I'm just gonna wing it."
1475. >You open the car door
1476. "Uh, stay here and uh, enjoy the fireworks I guess"
1477. >She gives you and affirmative nod
1478. >"Good luck."
1479. "I need it."
1480. >You shut and lock the door before casually strolling over to Tia from her blind side
1481. >You feel like you're visibly sweating
1482. >Once you're about a yard or two away you take a seat against the fence
1483. >Prismatic flashes illuminate behind you every few seconds
1484. >You look up at Tia, you dont think she's noticed you but if she has she hasn't said anything
1485. >She probably doesn't have anything to say to you anyway.
1486. >She just stares up at the increasingly hard to see moon thanks to the firework smoke and intermittent clouds
1487. "Kinda getting hard to see it huh?"
1488. >Your conversational skills are unmatched
1489. >"Yeah."
1490. "Still mad?"
1491. >She sighs and swings her feet.
1492. >"I'm not mad."
1493.
1494. >Huh
1495. "What do you mean you're not mad? You ran away like... like an upset teenager."
1496. >She hops down from her perch but maintains her line of sight on the celestial body in the sky
1497. >"I mean exactly what I said Anon, I'm not mad. I'm just...I dunno, hurt? Disappointed?"
1498. >You shimmy a little closer along the fence line
1499. >"And I didn't 'run away' I had- er, have every intention of going back home."
1500. >The timing between the fireworks gets a little shorter
1501. "Then why'd you up and disappear without saying anything?"
1502. >"I didnt think youd notice, you're a 'leave it till tomorrow' kinda guy so I figured I could just go. As for why, I just wanted to be alone for a bit."
1503. >You feel a pang in your chest when she says the first part because she's absolutely right
1504. "And you couldn't be alone in your room?"
1505. >She visibly tenses up for a moment before relaxing and pointing up at the sliver of a moon hanging in the sky
1506. >"I can't see it from my room, and the street lights muddle the sky too much to appreciate it."
1507. >Tia puts her back against the fence and slides down to a sitting position
1508. >She finally looks over at you
1509. >Her soft pink eyes are a little puffy and slightly bloodshot.
1510. "I'm sorry Tia."
1511. >"Do you know what you're sorry for or are you just saying it?"
1512. >You start to scoot a little closer but she scoots back an equal amount
1513. "I'm sorry for...implying that whatever the hell our current relationship is, is nothing."
1514. >She looks up at the sky for a few seconds before looking back at you.
1515. >"She told you why I was upset didn't she?"
1516. >Really hitting all the nails on the head tonight
1517. "No! I looked deep in my heart and after some soul searching….yeah, yeah she did."
1518. >You give her a half smile and she gives you a little one back.
1519. >She makes her way over to you and sits between your legs
1520. >"I guess while we're throwing out apologies then I'm sorry for earlier today."
1521. "I'm not the one to apologize to."
1522. >She gives you a low pouty groan.
1523. >Baby steps
1524. >It's been a long time since you've last been in this situation
1525.
1526.
1527. >"Hey."
1528. "What?"
1529. >She pushes her back against you
1530. >" I want a kiss."
1531. >Here we go
1532. "Request denied."
1533. >"Just one?"
1534. >As fun as it could be you have to steel yourself
1535. "Tia."
1536. >"Why not?"
1537. >You try to scoot back but she's pinned you between herself and the fence
1538. "This is why."
1539. >She lets out a loud huff
1540. >"Why do you hate me so much?"
1541. >Her voice starts to tremble a little
1542. >You wrap your arms around her shoulders and close your eyes
1543. >Sometimes you forget how warm she is
1544. >You’re heartbeat quickens a little
1545. "You know I don't hate you Tia, quit being dramatic."
1546. >She sighs
1547. >"I know…"
1548. >You both sit there quietly for a moment as the finale starts
1549. >Neither of you turn to look as you'd rather focus on the moment.
1550. >"Hey, do you think we uh...could try again sometime?"
1551. >Well she's nothing if not persistent
1552. "Ask me again when I'm not so upset with you."
1553. >You can almost hear her smirk
1554. >"You didn't say no."
1555. "I know exactly what I said."
1556. >You ruffle the top of her hair
1557. “C’mon, let's get back home. Plus Chrys is in the car and I don't want her to accidentally put it in drive and mow down an innocent bystander.”
1558. >“Ugh you brought her?”
1559. “Hey, I wouldn't have found you without her.”
1560. >”Fine, fine.”
1561. “No complaining, now come here alley-oop.”
1562. >You pick her up and throw her over your shoulder causing her to squeal with laughter
1563. >You chuckle to yourself as you carry her to the car
1564. >You're just happy she's safe and sound
1565. >You set her down and she makes her way over to the passenger side
1566. >Much to your surprise she doesn't react when she sees Chrysalis in the passenger seat and hops in the back
1567. >Maybe she’s had the smallest change of heart
1568. >Baby steps are important
1569. >As you get in Tia poofs back to her natural state and lays across the back seat
1570. "Thanks for the help Chrys."
1571. >"Oh I really didn't do much."
1572. >You can hear her tail swish against the seat
1573. >"And I guess....I'm glad you made him realize he's an idiot.”
1574. >Is that?
1575. “Well how's that? A thank you from queen brat herself. Enjoy it because you’ll never get another one.”
1576. >”Hey, I'm plenty grateful and that's princess to you”
1577. >You all share a snicker
1578. >It almost make you feel like family for once
1579. >The car ride home isn't long but by the time you pull in the driveway Tia is out like a light and snoring loudly
1580. >Chrysalis quietly snickers and shakes her head with a smile.
1581. "What's up?"
1582. >"Oh nothing, just thinking about how even when she's asleep she's still obnoxious."
1583. "Yeah, it's funny how she pulls that off isn't it. Poor thing, must be exhausted."
1584. >You get out, scoop Tia into your arms and carry her inside
1585. >You have a mini heart attack when the door isn't locked but quickly remember you didn't lock it when you rushed out
1586. >Chrysalis follows behind you and takes up residence on the couch as you put Tia to bed.
1587. >Once Tia is tucked up in her blankets you make your way over to the couch and plop down next to the cute bughorse
1588. >Decompression time baybee
1589. >"Not tired?"
1590. "Oh no, I'm exhausted but I'm not ready to sleep yet."
1591. >"Ah."
1592. >You both sit there quietly for a bit
1593. >"So um...are you two together now?"
1594. >You scratch the back of your head
1595. "No...at least not yet. I think."
1596. >She gives you a perplexed look.
1597. >"Yet?"
1598. >She twitches a little when you raise your eyebrow but quickly relaxes
1599. >"I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to-"
1600. "You're alright."
1601. >You sigh and slide deeper into the couch
1602. "I dunno, plus I hate to just dump my issues on to you as a captive audience."
1603. >She stretches herself into a more comfortable position
1604. >"I honestly don't mind. It's really the least I could do for you."
1605. >Well if she's offering it couldn't hurt to let a few little things off your chest.
1606. "Things with Tia are...complex. When we were a thing, during the good times things were great. On the other hand she's basically the reason I have no friends besides her."
1607. >"Oh."
1608.
1609. "Don't get me wrong, I love the girl and I'm just as much to blame for not putting my foot down till it's too late."
1610. >"What do you mean by that?"
1611. "Which part?"
1612. >"Mmmm, yes."
1613. >You rub your tired eyes
1614. “Tia is….needy. Like, really needy. At first it was kinda cute, convincing me to stay in bed for a little longer, calling off work every now and again to lay in bed all day. Y'know cute relationship stuff, but after a while she got more and more fussy about it and I'd feel bad so of course I'd oblige."
1615. >"So you had no time for friends?"
1616. "I barely had time for work."
1617. >Absentmindedly you lightly scratch along her spine making her chirp quietly
1618. >It's a sound you've very quickly come to appreciate, it kind of makes you feel like everything's at peace.
1619. "Can I ask you a question for a change?"
1620. >"Go ahead."
1621. "Is that chirping thing some kind of like...changeling calming noise something?"
1622. >A deeply self conscious look is plastered across her face
1623. >"I um...it's uh...kind of a new thing for me too."
1624. >You quickly pull your hand back
1625. "Oh, I'm so sorry Chrys. I don't mean to."
1626. >She gives you an earnest, if not a little bit awkward smile
1627. >Her toothy grin reveals spots that were once empty now nestle sharp little teeth poking through the gums
1628. >"I really don't mind, plus I get something from it too you know?”
1629. >You both share a chuckle
1630. >For being some terrible evil queen she’s surprisingly personable
1631. “That's fair.”
1632. >”So about Ti- er, Celestia. What are you going to do?”
1633. >You smile at her little mistake
1634. “Same thing I've done my entire life, wing it and worry about the consequences later.”
1635. >”Hmmmm.”
1636. >She scrunches her mouth and stares off at nothing particular
1637. “What are you scheming about over there?”
1638. >”Is it that obvious?”
1639. “I’ve lived with scheming royalty for almost 5 years, believe me I know the look.”
1640. >She chuckles
1641. >"While I still don't fully believe that you truly want nothing from me, I suppose helping you with your mare problem is the least I can do to repay all you've done for me."
1642.
1643.
1644. >The full weight of today starts to hit you all at once and your eyes are getting feel pretty heavy at this point.
1645. >You stretch and yawn
1646. "You really don't have to Chryssi."
1647. >A light blush creeps across her face.
1648. >"I know I don't. Finally tired are we?"
1649. >You smile and playfully wave off her comment
1650. "Nah, I've never been more awake than I am right now."
1651. >You're minutes from completely crashing
1652. >"Is that right? Well, if it's okay with you I think I'll retire to my room."
1653. >Wait, did you finish her bed?
1654. "Oh dammit, I forgot I didn't put your mattress and sheets on."
1655. >Chrysalis clambers off the couch and begins to walk to her room.
1656. >"I think I can manage that much myself."
1657. >She puffs her chest out proudly with a smile to show you she's capable.
1658. >The heart palpitation you just had was almost audible.
1659. >That smile better not awaken anything in you
1660. >"Good night Anon...um, rest well."
1661. >With that she trots off to her room and shuts the door behind her
1662. >Well that was awkward
1663. >And cute
1664. >No, bad Anon
1665. >No falling for another horse while your patching up your relationship with the first one
1666. >You groan once for your thoughts and again as you climb out of the Anon shaped dent in the couch
1667. >A thought crosses your mind to give Tia a visit/ extra "pillow" but that's a rake you aren't ready to step on
1668. >You meander into your room and collapse onto the bed
1669. >It smells kinda nice, it's almost like pollen.
1670. >Oh right, Chrys slept in here slept in here
1671. >You haven't actually taken the time to sniff her as you aren't a pervert......you aren't THAT big of a pervert but she smells nice if this is from her
1672.
1673. ______
1674. >You are
1675. >A bug
1676. >A very big bug who has risen every so slightly after the sun
1677. >In your very own bed nonetheless
1678. >You curl up and try to fall back asleep for a while to no avail
1679. >Begrudgingly you eventually get up and strut around your room
1680. >You almost trip over a set of bags that contain the rest of your bedding and..
1681. >Oh right Anon bought you clothes
1682. >Clothes that YOU wanted
1683. >Your heart strangely flutters and your wings flap at the thought
1684. >You’ll have to work on getting a hold of that
1685. >Anon is a strange one for sure
1686. >He’s done a lot in the past 2 days yet he asks for so little >It's a tad perplexing
1687. >Even when you hurt him he took the time to comfort you
1688. >Not that you're complaining
1689. >You're practically bursting with excess love
1690. >It's a good thing you’ve got enough plenty of old wounds to patch up
1691. >You dig through the bag and wiggle your way into a black hoodie with a torn green heart on the front
1692. >Something about it just feels on brand
1693. >It’s strange having things to call your own for once, it's been quite some time
1694. >Clothes, a bed, a room
1695. >Huh
1696. >It suddenly hits you that this is YOUR room and not just a room you happen to occupy.
1697. >You revel a little over the fact you have your own small domain again after so long.
1698. >The strange fluttering feeling fills your chest again
1699. >After it passes you creep out into the living room
1700. >You look around and take in the most serene morning you've had in centuries
1701. >Just you, the morning birds and the occasional sound of cars passing
1702. >Reflecting on the past day makes you smile
1703. >However fleeting this hospitality is you'll enjoy it while it lasts
1704. >Looking around for something to pass the time you notice a decent pile of dishes in the sink
1705. >Couldn't hurt to earn some more brownie points
1706. >...or head pats and scratches...those are really nice too
1707. >You saunter over and get to work on cleaning
1708. >Cleaning plates turns into cleaning the counters, the floor, the cabinets
1709. >Oh yeah, you're gonna be drowning love and affection from Anon after this
1710. >.....
1711. >........
1712. >Surely you aren't that reliant on his approval already because he's done a few nice things for you, right?
1713. >.....right?
1714. >"Oh great, we've got bugs in the kitchen again."
1715. >The sudden voice pulls you from your thoughts
1716.
1717. "Good morning Celestia, awake so soon?"
1718. >"Mmmm."
1719. >Her horn glows softly as a medley of coffee supplies float around the room
1720. "No witty come back or insulting statements?"
1721. >The objects stop in place for a moment as she blankly stares at you
1722. >The only response she gives are a few long blinks before she returns to her task
1723. >Well at least she's being 'nice' for once
1724. >Suppose it wouldn't hurt to be nice in return
1725. "Would you like some assistance?"
1726. >"Don't patronize me, bug. I...appreciate your assistance last night but that's all.”
1727. >You give her a pleasant if slightly fake smile
1728. >”As you wish. I take it once Anon awakens, you won't want breakfast from me either?”
1729. >She quickly gives you a side eye from staring at the timer on the coffee pot
1730. >”We’ll see.”
1731. >Well, it at least seems like progress
1732. >You decide to leave her alone and take roost on the floor in front of the couch, quietly humming to yourself
1733. >Some time passes and Tia surprisingly joins you in the living room, taking her roost on the couch and turning on the T.V
1734. >She’s the first to break the silence
1735. >”So uh, what's up with the whole sitting on the floor thing?”
1736. >She takes a light sip of her coffee before wincing and whispering a curse
1737. >You do your best not to smile
1738. “I know my place is all.”
1739. >”That right?”
1740. >She sips the coffee again, repeating the same mistake as a few seconds ago
1741. >She places the mug on the table
1742. >”So what's your game then?”
1743. “Hmm?”
1744. >She sighs
1745. >”You know what I mean.”
1746. >She speaks very dryly and sparingly makes eye contact
1747. >You chuckle
1748. “No games. Anon is a veritable fountain of love, I wouldn't throw away someone so precious for some silly game.”
1749. >The ground disappears beneath you as Celestia levitates you in front of her.
1750. >She looks less than enthused
1751. >”So what, you plan to bleed him dry?”
1752. >She asks the question very flatly, void of any anger or malice
1753. >In your many years you've learned that calm Celestia is far more terrifying than angry Celestia
1754. >But for once you have an ace in the hole
1755. “Well for one, absolutely not. With as starved for love as I've been, I wouldn't dream of discarding such a steady supply. Secondly, I don't think I could even if I wanted to.”
1756. >She lets go and you’re able to get your hooves down in time to stop your short fall
1757. >The room is silent aside from the quiet sounds of the television and occasional sipping noises from Celestia but after a show or two she looks over at you briefly and squints before returning her gaze to the TV
1758. >You're starting to sweat a little, her silence is unnerving
1759. >”I think trusting you is a massive mistake but...you at least seem genuine so I’ll cut you a little slack. Only a little, don't make me regret it.”
1760. >She’s not looking your way but you give her a polite smile
1761. >The one chance you get shall be all you need
1762. >Besides, the happier she is the happier Anon is
1763. >”Now, what’s for breakfast?”
1764.
1765. >Be
1766. >An all powerful sun goddess
1767. >Or rather you used to be
1768. >Typically you go by Tia or Celly now.
1769. >A slave to your human but only in the loosest possible terms
1770. >You could almost call him the slave sometimes
1771. >Sometimes
1772. >Back to the problem at hand
1773. >At this moment one of your archnemesis is making you breakfast
1774. >Voluntarily
1775. >How....odd
1776. >She didn't even have to be hit with a orbital friendship cannon
1777. >While you have no trust in her, Nonny does.
1778. >Sometimes you feel like that boy would trust a toddler with a gun
1779. >Nonetheless she helped patch up your relationship with Anon a little...maybe a single chance couldn't hurt.
1780. >Worst case you can squish her like the petulant bug she is
1781. >On the other hoof maybe she could even be useful as servant of your own
1782. >You can feel a smirk spread across your face
1783. >Delightfully devilish Celestia
1784. >You levitate the remote over and flip through the channels aimlessly
1785. >Unsurprisingly nothing good is on
1786. >As if there ever is
1787. >Even with so much time on earth you have to wonder how human entertainment is so tasteless
1788. >Well, shows like Jerry Springer and Dr.Phil can be hilarious
1789. >But CAN is really the operative word there
1790. >Hopefully Anon wakes up soon so you can get back to wooing him with your irresistible feminine wiles.
1791. >Unconsciously you poof your chest out a little
1792. >It's only a matter of time till that boy is all yours again
1793. >You chuckle to yourself
1794. >Its surprising he's not up already
1795. >Usually he’s the one to drag you out of bed much to your chagrin
1796. >It's not like you have anywhere to be besides the couch or your bed
1797. >You get up and stroll over to his room and peak in
1798. >He’s passed out and curled up like a baby
1799. >His bed is a mess and his covers are flung around the room like a hurricane hit
1800. >You walk over, place the blankets on him and tuck him back in before planting a kiss on his forehead
1801. >He’s so precious and handsome
1802. >Even if he makes you sad sometimes
1803. >His soft relaxed face makes you feel just a little flushed in the cheeks
1804.
1805. >Oh what you wouldn't give to hop in there with him right now, but he deserves his rest
1806. >You really hope me meant what he said last night
1807. >You may not be a perfect marefriend, but who is?
1808. >Plus you definitely have a lot more to offer than Queen stick bug
1809. >Or do you?
1810. >She's definitely filled out disturbingly quickly for the amount of time she's been here.
1811. >What did Anon do with her?
1812. >Really gotta hammer home that the human is yours and yours alone
1813. >You look back at your royal rump which admittedly is not as full as it once was.
1814. >This being rejected thing has hit you a little harder than you'd like to admit, but nonetheless you've got the inch on her
1815. >Maybe if he sat you down and talked it out like an adult you'd be less hurt by it all
1816. >But he didn't
1817. >And here you are
1818. >Who wouldn't wanna be special someponies with THE Celestia
1819. >You’ve only been a single mare for….well, always
1820. >Not that its your fault
1821. >You chase out the sad thoughts with ones of him accepting you back with open arms
1822. >The thought of his warm, soft skin against your fur sends a shiver down your spine
1823. >With a renewed constitution to get back the only thing you have left in this world, you trot back out into the living room
1824. >You watch as Chrysalis sits your plate down onto the coffee table and takes her place on the floor next to the couch
1825. >You stare at the plate
1826. >It’s piled high with pancakes and littered with various fruits and whip cream
1827. >You're slightly taken aback
1828. >It's missing the pony motif but it's definitely your favorite breakfast to a T ingredient wise
1829. >Rather suspicious but it's no surprise that she'd have spies so close to you.
1830. >Clearly she's trying to win you over so she can claim your prize
1831. >Aha there will be none of that my little insect
1832. >She notices your stunned face and smirks
1833. >”Surprised, are we?”
1834. >A look of smug satisfaction blatantly plasters itself across her face
1835. >You could reduce her to ash right here and now
1836. >You won't
1837. >But oooo you sure could
1838. “Lucky guess.”
1839. >Your reply only emboldens that stupid smugness
1840. >You take your seat on the couch and dig in
1841. >Damn her
1842. >It's good
1843. >Like, really good
1844. >If you close your eyes for a moment you could almost believe you’re back home
1845. >Ushering your exhausted sister to the table for her dinner
1846. >She was always far more worn out at the end of her 'day' than you were but she always indulged in your antics and mediocre cooking
1847. >That first and last hour of your day, when the two of you could just be happy normal sisters really kept you grounded for all those years
1848. >You open your eyes and blink away the strange blurriness
1849. >With a deep inhale you calm your stuttering breath
1850. “You're an adequate cook."
1851. >"Only adequate?"
1852. >You give her a deadpan stare as you shovel another bite into your mouth
1853. >She should count herself lucky to see any praise from you at all.
1854. >Smug ass bug
1855.
1856. >You are Anon
1857. >And you have just returned to the land of the living after a long day and equally long night
1858. >Or at least it felt long
1859. >You pick up your phone and are greeted by the usual old image of you with your arm wrapped around Tia
1860. >You see it a million times every day but something about it makes you feel a little different for once
1861. >Not sure if its a good or bad feeling
1862. >But it's a feeling
1863. >You could also just be hungry
1864. >Looking at the time shows it's far later than you'd like it to be
1865. >Noon
1866. >Ugh
1867. >Stupid late nights
1868. >The girls are probably awake
1869. >Hopefully you don't find a corpse in the living room
1870. >You doubt you will, Tia is well behaved enough
1871. >...right?
1872. >Yeahhhh it's fiiiine probably
1873. >You get up and make your way out of your room
1874. >You double take as they're both watching TV
1875. >Well this is….a development
1876. >Chrys is sitting on the floor and Tia on the couch
1877. >Looking around it seems like you missed breakfast
1878. >There's a few utensils and dishes left out
1879. >Tia probably made herself something
1880. >But back to the more pressing matter
1881. >Those two mares are a mere foot or so apart and aren't fighting
1882. >Clearly you're still asleep
1883. "I must be dreaming."
1884. >The girls both look over at you and smile
1885. >Oh god you could get used to see both of those bright smiles every morning
1886. >Chrys is the first to speak up.
1887. >"Good morning. Did you sleep well mast- Anon?"
1888. >"Yo!"
1889. "Yeah I slept just fine. You two are...getting along?"
1890. >They look at each other for a moment before looking back at you
1891. >Suspicious
1892. "I see. Celestia, are you bullying the poor girl?"
1893. >"Is it reeeeeally bullying if it's deserved?"
1894. "Tia."
1895. >She scoffs and pouts
1896. >"I haven't done anything to the bug"
1897. >She looks mildly offended as she turns back to the TV
1898. >Chrys speaks up again
1899. >"Are you hungry?"
1900. >Her voice is rather earnest and sweet sounding
1901. >Why can't Tia be this nice and sweet all the time?
1902. "Ah, so you’re the one that did the cooking?"
1903. >She gives you a prideful look with her chest puffed out
1904. >"I did, and even the princess here couldnt resist my talents."
1905. >She gestures towards Tia with a hoof
1906.
1907. >Celestia gives her a look that you've seen many times before
1908. >It's like the horse equivalent of a middle finger
1909. >If Chrysalis notices she doesn't show it, rather she just sports a pleased yet mischievous grin
1910. "I’d hate to have you dirty up all the pots and pans again."
1911. >She canters over to the kitchen gives you her best puppy dog eyes
1912. >"I don't mind honestly."
1913. >Critical hit right to the vital organs
1914. >A look like that could stop a weaker man’s heart
1915. >Hmmm, maybe you've been single for too long
1916. >Or maybe you just have a really cute bug in your house
1917. >Either way you can feel Tia’s gaze burning a hole through you
1918. >Or she actually is burning a hole through you
1919. >There are worse sights to see in the moments before your demise
1920. >After a few seconds you fail to notice any new burn marks or holes in your body so she must be merciful today
1921. "Alrighty then. I'm not super picky so whatever you make is fine."
1922. >She gives you a smile and a nod before pooling together what she needs.
1923. >You turn your gaze to the ever attention starved Celestia and take a seat next to her.
1924. "And how are you?"
1925. >She's quick to squirm her way into a comfortable sitting position on your lap with her chest against yours.
1926. >"Better now that you're awake."
1927. >It's a little early in the day for intimate contact like this
1928. >God it's not heat season is it?
1929. >It's like april
1930. "Damn, isn't it a little early in the year for you to be this feisty?"
1931. >She gives you a sly smile
1932. >"I'm a princess not a cat."
1933. >You laugh and give her a hug
1934. "Yeah, a cat wouldn't be trying to get in my pants this early or at all really."
1935. >The gift of gab was not bestowed to you upon your birth
1936. >She pretends to be hurt and lazily falls off your lap
1937. >She might as well be a giant cat
1938. >If cats could harness the power of the sun
1939. >It's probably for the best they can’t
1940. >You scratch at the floof on her chest
1941. >Much like her mane it's a knotted mess
1942. >You should really give her a once over
1943.
1944. "Hey Tia?"
1945. >"Mmm Yeah?"
1946. >She looks up at you and her smile fades a little when she sees the disappointed look on your face.
1947. "Lemme see a wing."
1948. >She shamefully avoids eye contact
1949. >Please don't make this hard
1950. "Gimme."
1951. >You hold out your hand expectantly and she reluctantly complies
1952. >They're arguably worse
1953. >Feathers are bent awkward angles and some fall out if picked at lightly
1954. >You sigh
1955. >This week seems to really be messing with her particularly hard this year
1956. >Although you're sure you have a hand in this
1957. "Celestia."
1958. >She shrinks into herself a little at your tone
1959. "Seriously? Tia, when's the last time you've preened, or cleaned yourself at all really?"
1960. >She looks pretty dejected
1961. >"It's been a bit…"
1962. "Just 'a bit'?"
1963. >More nervous squirming
1964. >"Couple...months."
1965. >Oh
1966. "Since we…?"
1967. >She nods
1968. >Internally you groan
1969. >You thought maybe if you just never brought it up she'd just let it lie
1970. >But it's not like you've ever broken up with anyone before so you really weren’t sure how to even go about it
1971. >You look over at Chrys who appears to have your breakfast ready but didn't want to interrupt
1972. >She stays silent
1973. "I've gotta take care of something with Tia really quick. Just uh...just sit it on the table for now and thank you."
1974. >She nods with a curious look on her face
1975. >You pick up the white mare, make your way to the bathroom and close the door behind you.
1976. >She tightly clings to you as you carry her
1977. >That’s the Tia you know
1978. >You sit her down on the tile and you take a seat on the brim of the tub
1979. " Still mad at me?"
1980. >She sighs and scrunches her mouth
1981. >You reach over and turn the water on”
1982. >She gives a long dejected exhale
1983. “Nothing?”
1984. >You rub her mane and stare into her eyes for a few seconds
1985. >She pulls away from your light grasp and climbs into the shower before messing with the knobs till the water is to her liking
1986. >You take off your shirt and throw it in a far corner in hopes it doesn't get wet
1987. >You figure you might as well start at the top and work your way down
1988. >With a generous dollop of her shampoo you lather up her mane and get to work
1989.
1990. >It's a good thing you already brushed a good chunk of the knots out or this would take forever
1991. >"You know, this reminds me of when you brought me home for the first time."
1992. >You scrub down her sides and forelimbs
1993. >What an adventure that was.
1994. "You're not gonna give me a black eye again are you?"
1995. >You share a snicker
1996. >"As much as I want to, I think I'll refrain. Although, I should ask you the same."
1997. >A cheeky smile hides the frown she's been maintaining
1998. "Thank you oh great one. Wings up please."
1999. >She obliges your request and lifts her wings up and out so you can get her sides better
2000. "And that wasn't my fault, you made me drop the shower head."
2001. >You both laugh at the somewhat dark yet fond memories of her first few months.
2002. >Despite the scars and trouble you'd do it again in a heartbeat
2003. >She takes a deep inhale and give an even deeper sigh
2004. >”Hey...”
2005. “What's up girly?”
2006. >You carefully scrub down her back, avoiding her wings
2007. >You can see her tilt her head curiously out of your periphery
2008. >"You know, you never gave me a real answer Anon…"
2009. >Oh boy you are in shitsville USA now
2010. >As you should be
2011. >Taking the easy way out is always the hardest in the end
2012. "Yeah…."
2013. >You regret it but it's a little late to say sorry
2014. >”Well?”
2015. >She deserves an answer
2016. >Ugh
2017. “Because…”
2018. >How do you word this...tactfully?
2019. >Is there a way to say ‘You smothered me and ruined every semblance of a relationship I’ve had in the span of a year or so’ tactfully?
2020. >Probably not
2021. >But you give it your best
2022. “Tia you’re…. A lot to handle.”
2023. >She furrows her brow and scrunches her mouth to the side
2024. >”Are you calling me fat?”
2025. >What
2026. “What?”
2027. >There’s no way that’s all she got from that
2028. >She gives you a pitiful smile at her bad joke
2029. >You cup her face in your sudsy hands
2030. “Tia... I really do love you but you're just too…”
2031. >”Beautiful? Loving?”
2032. >Her smug face tells you she’s pleased with her interruption
2033. “Overbearing”
2034. >Her smirk disappears
2035. >“Oh”
2036.
2037. >Her playful demeanor deflates a little
2038. >"I'm not overbearing."
2039. >You can almost hear the wounded pride in her voice
2040. >You pat her gently on the back
2041. "I'm not trying to mean Tia, but you are. When's the last time you've seen or let me talk to anyone but you?"
2042. >You can see a tinge of regret? Or maybe its desperation in her eyes
2043. >You feel bad laying it out
2044. >”But despite that, you still wanna try right? You said you would.”
2045. >Wellllll you never said it with total certainty
2046. “I said I would think about it, Tia.”
2047. >.....
2048. >That came out a little harsher than you wanted it to and her face reflects that.
2049. “It's not a definite ‘no’.”
2050. >You try to recover your fumble but it's too late
2051. >She sighs and leans against the cold tile as your hand is batted away by a winged appendage
2052. >Words have never been your strong suit
2053. >She's leaning too far away for you to keep cleaning, plus it would probably be inappropriate to continue.
2054. >She’s hurt, you're hurt. Dropping it is probably the easiest option
2055. >She flips her mane out of her eyes
2056. >"You know you're supposed to let a mare down easy right?"
2057. >You suck your teeth and sigh
2058. >She levitates the soapy rag out of your hand and sits it on the side of the tub
2059. >You stay silent at the risk of making things worse.
2060. >"Nothing?"
2061. >Any thoughts or comments you had prepared disappear against her scrutiny
2062. >What is there to say?
2063. >"I just...didn't want to lose all I had left you know?"
2064. >She loudly huffs
2065. "I was never going anywhere Tia."
2066. >"It doesn't feel like that."
2067. >A jolt of guilt shoots through your heart
2068. "What does that mean?"
2069. >Her mouth and brow scrunch as she takes in a deep hitched breath.
2070. >She looks around at anything that's not you
2071. >"I dont know."
2072. >You can see in her downcast eyes that she knows but no reason to push it
2073. "I just figured it'd be for the best of both of us if I cut things off."
2074. >" Master always knows best."
2075. >Once again a pang of guilt forces its way through your heart
2076. "Don't be like that. Look I'm sorry Celestia, I really am."
2077. >"Are you sorry for real or just because you feel bad?"
2078. >Harsh but she's got you there
2079. >You do feel bad
2080. >Both that it had to happen and that you don't have a way to make it easier for either of you
2081. >The short silences between this cold conversation feels like ages
2082. "Both?"
2083. >If you could stuff those words back in your gullet you would
2084. >She gives you a weary stare out of the corner of her eye
2085. >"I think I can get it from here."
2086. “Tia.”
2087.
2088.
2089. >She maintains the sad yet scornful side eye, enforcing her request
2090. >Might as well grant her wish and leave
2091. >You dry off and quickly throw on your shirt
2092. >You stop as you get to the door and look back
2093. "I still-"
2094. >"Save it, you've done enough for now Anon."
2095. >You step outside and close the door behind you
2096. >You dramatically throw your head back and accidentally bust it on the door
2097. >It certainly doesn't feel good
2098. "Agh, fuck."
2099. >Unsure if the tears welling up are from the pain or the mess you caused, you wipe your eyes and make your way to the couch
2100. >You plop down and lean back as far as you can
2101. >Your appetite is absolutely ruined.
2102. >How are you going to fix this?
2103. >You're in too deep to just relent at this point
2104. >Meanwhile standing your ground is just as bad of an idea.
2105. >You look at the stack of pancakes sitting on the table and pick up the fork neatly placed next to it.
2106. >Might as well eat something
2107. >Being hungry isn't gonna help anyone
2108. >You dig in and despite getting a little cold, it's still some of the breakfast you've ever had
2109. >What the hell is she putting in this stuff?
2110. >Whatever it is, hopefully she keeps it up.
2111. >Speaking of Chrys, you look around and see no trace of her
2112. >You swear she was just here
2113. >Finishing off breakfast takes no time at all and you're left by your lonesome.
2114. >You get up and place your dishes in the sink before returning to a puddle-like position on the couch.
2115. >As you do you can hear the bathroom door open, and a few seconds later you see Celestia slinking out from the hall
2116. >She stops and stares you down with a weary gaze
2117. >Is this the part where you say something profound and fix your relationship?
2118. >Her horn glows softly and with a small flash produces a collection of small pills on the table
2119. >They quickly segregate themselves into two neat piles
2120. >One for each of you
2121. >A bottle of water pops into existence within her magical grasp before she walks out the back door
2122. >You can see her through the window as she finds a nice comfortable place to bask/pout in the noon sun
2123. >How exactly do you even process what just happened?
2124. >If anything thinking about it just makes you feel worse
2125. >You grab your phone and begin the Ye Olde coping mechanism of listening to sad music
2126. >Opening up YouTube you see the song you were listening to with Chrys yesterday
2127.
2128.
2129. >You shrug and tap play before softly tossing your phone next to you on the couch.
2130. >Shame that today is already a bust and you've hardly been up an hour
2131. >After the song loops a time or two you hear a door creak open.
2132. >You look over to see Chrysalis peeking out of her room with her ears perked up
2133. "Hey Chrys."
2134. >You give her a limp wave.
2135. >For once misery would prefer to not have company.
2136. >She makes her way over to the couch and hops up next to you
2137. >"You seem rather...morose."
2138. "Morose?"
2139. >You don't have the energy for big words currently
2140. >She covers her mouth with a hoof and chuckles
2141. >"Crestfallen."
2142. >You know what that one means but you puff up your cheeks in a playful annoyance
2143. >You get a smile and eye roll in response
2144. >"You look sad."
2145. "Eh, it happens a lot."
2146. >Her silky mane glides through your fingers.
2147. >Wait, when did you start petting her?
2148. >Weird
2149. >Whatever, the cool strands feel really nice in your hand.
2150. >”Is that so?”
2151. >You shrug in response and rub her ears, she lowers her head a bit, letting it rest just above your lap.
2152. >Looking down you can see a collection of scars and gray hairs.
2153. >Thinking about it you haven't really given her a closer look till now.
2154. >Situating your hand under her chin, you raise up her head a little bit.
2155. >Her horn is in pretty terrible condition for starters
2156. >The material that makes it up looks rather brittle
2157. >It reminds you of when you used to chew your nails
2158. >Looking a little closer you can see it’s actually grown around the magic dampening ring slightly
2159. >That can’t feel good
2160. “Hey, I gotta ask. Does it hurt?”
2161. >With your free hand you very lightly you poke her horn, causing a few little black flecks to shed from it
2162. >You can see an emerald eye trying to focus on what you're doing.
2163. >”My horn?”
2164. >She lets out a deep sigh
2165. >”Just my pride mostly.”
2166. >You give her a pity scratch under her chin
2167. >"How is your hand?"
2168. >Oh right you forgot about that
2169. >Looking at your hand you notice the lack of a bandage
2170. >Must've fallen off while you were asleep.
2171. >Now that you're aware of the scab, your hand itches like crazy
2172. >It sucks
2173. "Itchy but I've had worse."
2174. >You chuckle and rub her back
2175. >The quiet peacefulness doesn't last long as Chrys decides to lick your hand leaving a long dark smear across the back
2176. >You'd almost be turned on if you weren't so confused and kinda grossed out
2177. >What the hell was that?
2178. "Dude!?"
2179. >She jumps slightly
2180. >"I apologize. I probably should have explained first."
2181. >You pick at it lightly but it's on there rather good, and the itching has stopped
2182. >"Don't pick at it. It will help it heal better."
2183. >Huh
2184. >Her voice is a little snappy but
2185. "Uh huh?"
2186.
2187. >At a bit of a loss for words here
2188. >It's not everyday someone just licks you without permission
2189. >Let alone leaves behind a weird blackish green trail when they do
2190. "So uh...how exactly does that work?"
2191. >She lightly lays her head against the outer side of your leg
2192. >Weird, but cool!
2193. "How come you aren't covered in this stuff yourself?"
2194. >She lightly laughs
2195. >"Changelings are able to heal themselves, albeit slowly with the same love they'd use to keep themself sustained. On the other hoof, say we...I wish to assist others I would normally just use magic…"
2196. >Her voice trails off near the end
2197. >"But without it, food may be converted into necessary materials."
2198. >Kinda gross but still neat
2199. "Huh"
2200. >You flex your hand a couple times
2201. It feels weird but not in a bad way
2202. "Thank you?"
2203. >Giving her a scratch between her shoulder blades earns you her wings buzzing in response
2204. >You bump the music’s volume down abit and just relax
2205. >A small bit of warmth permeates in your chest as you just relax next to your big bug
2206. >It's a lot like when you and Tia were together
2207. >Not that you're head over heels for the mare or anything
2208. >Just something about being around her feels nice
2209. >You're not falling for the bug horse mid messy fight with your ex
2210. >Absolutely not
2211. >Haha…
2212. “So uh...Is there anything you wanted to do, or anything you wanna talk about?”
2213. >Her head lifts off your leg ever so slightly as she hums and rolls her head back and forth
2214. >Eventually she lays her head back down and shrugs
2215. >”I’m not sure, I've never had the autonomy to pick before.”
2216. >Another round of scratches where her neck meets her back brings back her signature chirping
2217. “Well, let's change that.”
2218.
2219. >You can see her eyes dart around as she wracks her brain
2220. >”What are my options?”
2221. >Looking around the house there's really not much here to pick from
2222. >Uhhh
2223. >The harness she was using yesterday catches your eye
2224. >Oh yeah she probably needs a new one of those
2225. >And maybe a vet visit?
2226. >She probably won't be too excited about that, plus she seems to be doing fine for now
2227. >You run your fingers through her mane
2228. >It'd probably be best to just get out of the house for now, you can figure out later what to do
2229. “How about we go for a walk and take it from there? I could use the fresh air.”
2230. >"I guess that wouldn't be such a terrible idea."
2231. >She gives you a coy smirk before gingerly climbing off the couch
2232. >What was that about?
2233. >As you get up the pills on the table catch your eye
2234. >Meh it's too late in the day at this point to take them. >You'll do it tomorrow
2235. >You make your way to the door and help Chrys put on her borrowed harness.
2236. >The pastel color makes it look very out of place against her black fur and hoodie.
2237. "You know, I dont think pink is your color."
2238. >She chuckles and shakes her head
2239. >"Certainly wouldn't be my first...nor tenth choice."
2240. >Her voice oozes sarcasm and charm
2241. >Which makes you grin
2242. >Is she flirting with you?
2243. >Thinking about it, has she been flirting this whole time?
2244. >Picking up on that sorta thing isn't exactly your forte
2245. >Ignoring obvious signs on the other hand?
2246. >Now that's your jam
2247. >The powder pink harness goes on easy enough
2248. >Taking a long look, it really looks out of place on her
2249. “Pink definitely isn't ‘you’ .”
2250. >She wrinkles her nose and inspects the harness
2251. >”I didn’t want to say anything.”
2252. >A smug smile creeps across her lips
2253. >You grab the necessities, hook up her leash and head out
2254. >It probably wouldn't hurt to get her a new harness, and the ‘pet’ store is pretty close
2255. >There’s plenty of stuff nearby that might draw her interest so might as well head that way
2256. “I have a quick errand to run first, but think about if you see anything interesting in the meantime.”
2257. >Chrys gives you an affirmative nod
2258. >The first little bit of the walk is rather quiet
2259. >Chrys trails her way behind you for the most part, but the few times you check on her she’s taking in her surroundings.
2260. >Hopefully it's more inquisitive in nature than plotting an escape
2261. >Eventually she breaks the silence
2262. >”I keep thinking about it, yet the answer seems to elude me. What exactly is your plan Anon?”
2263. >You stop and turn around to face her
2264. >Plan?
2265. >As in, where are you leading her?
2266. “I guess I can ruin the surprise. I was gonna get you a new harness and then wander arou-”
2267. >Her head cocks to the side and her eyebrows furrow
2268.
2269. >”No no no. I mean you, purchasing the most powerful alicorn to ever exist and a Changeling Queen.”
2270. >Her voice sounds far more curious than accusatory
2271. >Not to say you don't hear a hint of the latter
2272. >You go to pat her head but she lightly ducks your hand
2273. >Fair enough
2274. “I’m no evil genius or anything like that. Not nearly enough brain cells up here for that.”
2275. >The unimpressed look on her face tells you she doesn't believe you
2276. >A short scrutinizing stare is all you get before she shrugs
2277. >”Ever the secretive one.”
2278. >A chuckle is shared between the two of you
2279. “It really is just happenstance…..mostly. Who knows, maybe it's fate I have you both.”
2280. >Not exactly a lie
2281. >Not a whole truth either
2282. >You did ‘look’ for her or rather, she fit the description you were looking for
2283. >But that was for Tia’s sake, not yours
2284. >"Is fate something you ascribe to?"
2285. >You lightly boop her on the nose, making her serious expression fizzle into mild annoyance and bewilderment
2286. "Do you want a straight answer or a philosophical one?"
2287. >Her snout scrunches up a bit more
2288. >Be it from the aftershock of the 8.7 on the boopter scale you just gave her or her weighing the options, you'll probably find out soon
2289. >"I suppose hearing what you think sans any sugar coating would be best."
2290. >You reach out and scratch at the back of her jaw
2291. "I think fate is b.s. on all sides. It strips away any hard work because it implies that the outcome would've been the same no matter what."
2292. >She hums and buzzes at your touch
2293. >You can tell she's somewhat embarrassed so you stop and give her a few head pats
2294. "That, plus it means that everyone deserves all the bad shit that happens to them and that bothers me way more.”
2295. >"And what if one does deserve it?"
2296. >She throws that back without missing a beat
2297. "Is that 'one' you?"
2298. >Poor bug
2299. >She's awfully hard on herself
2300. >She grumbles to herself quietly
2301. >"Perhaps."
2302. "I can't really say, maybe you do, maybe you don't but who am I to say. You've been a good girl for 'most' of the time I've had you."
2303. >A knowing smile creeps across your lips as you peek back at her and see the telltale blush on her face.
2304. >Embarrassed is a cute look on her
2305. >Maybe you should tease her more often
2306. “C'mon let's get going."
2307. >A very light tug on her leash, not even enough to stretch the material taught gets her to start walking again
2308.
2309. -------
2310. >You are
2311. >A dangerously malevolent and brooding Queen
2312. >And most certainly not pet that crumbles at the gentlest of touches
2313. >You think
2314. >Which happens to be most of what you do know
2315. >Just thinking
2316. >And watching
2317. >You peer at your surroundings as Anon walks
2318. >Half humoring his proposition of finding something to do and half taking in your secondish real trip outside in years
2319. >In a way the sprawling mass of concrete and busy bodies reminds you of a hive
2320. >One unlike any equestria had ever seen, but a hive nonetheless.
2321. >You look at the man very loosely hanging on to your leash
2322. >Tartarus, you could probably bolt right now and the leash would fly from his hand no problem
2323. >But why would you?
2324. >You're hesitant to say he treats you like a queen….more like a dog but still
2325. >It's the most comfortable you been in a long time
2326. >Maybe even ever
2327. >"Aaaand here we are. Tadaa!"
2328. >Anon’s sudden exclamation pulls you from your thoughts
2329. >How long had you spaced out for?
2330. >Looking up you see a sign saying ‘Pet Paradiso”
2331. >A nice reminder of your predicament
2332. “A pet shop?”
2333. >He awkwardly scratches at the back of his neck
2334. >Stupid human
2335. >You see his weak apologetic smile and any actual annoyance you had mustered up vanishes.
2336. >What is up with you?
2337. >"Yeah in hindsight being theatrical about a pet store is probably a bit much."
2338. “You think?”
2339. >He ruffles your mane
2340. >”Let’s head in, I need to grab some stuff for you.”
2341. >He waits for you to make the first move before heading in
2342. >Ever the gentlecolt
2343. >Maybe Celestia does have a smidgen of taste
2344. >Ugh
2345. >You shudder and wipe that thought from your brain just as fast as it arrives
2346. >You are a queen , you will not fall for some human just because he’s nice to you
2347. >Regardless of how he acts you are still his slave
2348. >You compose yourself and try to hide your inner thoughts with a slight look of indignation as you follow Anon around
2349. “What exactly are you looking for?”
2350. >He points up at a sign and mouths something quietly to himself
2351. >”Couple things, a new harness and some pony shampoo I guess, oh and a proper name tag for you.”
2352. ”Why do all this for my sake?”
2353. >”Why not, yknow?”
2354.
2355. >He graces you with another head pat
2356. >Very heavy on the petting
2357. >Perhaps that disagreement with the princess is hitting him pretty hard
2358. >Though should you care?
2359. “Very handsy today, aren't you?”
2360. >He pulls his hand back
2361. >”Oh, sorry. Too much?”
2362. >You shrug
2363. “Matters not to me.”
2364. >You arrive at a section of the store that houses an array of collars, harnesses, leashes
2365. >Anything you could find to reign in an animal...or slave
2366. >Though, you don't exactly feel like a slave, save for the leash and harness on you
2367. >Well if anything at least he’s letting you chose
2368. >”See anything you like?”
2369. “It's a bit strange to ask a slave what color of chains she wants, but black is fine”
2370. >He sighs and frowns
2371. >”Yeah...trust me if I could move somewhere with better leash laws I would.”
2372. >His remorseful look annoys you somehow
2373. >You rub your side against his and he pats you on the withers in return
2374. >A bit of mirth returns to his face
2375. >Oddly that pleases you somewhat
2376. >He crouched down, balancing on his toes and digs into the items on the racking
2377. >"Anything specific you'd like?"
2378. "Hmmm, something black?"
2379. >You give him a coy smirk and he rolls his eyes
2380. >"Damn, never would've guessed. I was gonna look for a neon pink one."
2381. >You give him a light push and he dramatically falls over
2382. >"Oh no help I'm being attacked."
2383. >His voice is monotone and he gives you a knowing wink
2384. >What a trouble maker
2385. >He's like a wayward hatching honestly.
2386. >You roll your eyes and can feel a hint of merriment spread across your face.
2387. >Is this fun you're having?
2388. >You hold out a hoof and help him back on his feet
2389. >He just chuckles to himself
2390. >"Such a vicious creature."
2391. "I'll do it again."
2392. >Your lips part into mischievous smile on their own
2393. >Anon throws his hands
2394. >"Yes yes mistress I'll be good I promise."
2395. >See, now that's the proper way to address a queen
2396. >You dig around on the shelf
2397. >"So uh...are you a leather or fluffy straps kind of gir-..mare? Is mare the right word?"
2398. >A very….very unmarelike guffaw escapes your lips followed by several sputters and coughs
2399. "E-Excuse me?"
2400. >He shrugs with an impish look on his face
2401. >"Well I wanna use the right word."
2402. >Your eyes just about bulge out of your head
2403. >The absolute nerve of this one
2404. "That uh… I umm."
2405. >Noticing the look on your face, his demeanor sours
2406. >You're not really offended just caught off guard
2407. >"I'm sorry Chrys, I'm just used to messing with Tia."
2408. "It's fine."
2409. >Its not like you haven't had infinitely worse things said to you
2410. >"Sorry."
2411. >He looks back at the racks of collars and harnesses, his face still dower
2412. >That fight with Celestia must be eating at him
2413. >N-not that you care
2414. >It's in your best interest to keep your main food source happy
2415. >Haha...
2416. >He lets out a long sigh
2417. >You muster up an ounce of courage
2418. "How long do you insist on pouting like that?"
2419. >"Hmm?"
2420. "That sad look you're giving me. I'm neither a filly nor so fragile. Believe me, I've heard much worse."
2421. >You mare up and walk around to his other side, lightly rubbing your side against his back as you do
2422. >You can feel his mood improve a little as a tiny snort passes through his nose
2423. >He fiddles with with the harness in his hands
2424. >It's some sort of leathery material dyed a deep turquoise
2425. >It's actually rather close to the color of your mane and stomach banding
2426. "What do you have there?"
2427. >Your words inadvertently spill out as a light coo
2428. >The kind you'd use to comfort a hatching
2429. >For now you let it slide, but it's not a mistake you'll make twice
2430. >He lets out another bemused huff of air from his nose
2431. >”Not a bad color eh?”
2432. “I suppose not.”
2433. >A grin is shared between the two of you
2434. >You strut a little bit close and he helps you put it on
2435. >It's a tad snug but not in a bad way
2436. >You walk a small circle as Anon watches you
2437. “Hmm, see something you like?”
2438. >His cheeks fill with a light tint of embarrassment
2439. >”Alrighty, don't get ahead of yourself there queeny.”
2440. >He sure knows what buttons to push to inflate your ego
2441. >You both giggle like school fillies
2442. >"So you like that one?"
2443.
2444.
2445. >His magical digits rake and massage across the back of your neck making your head shake a little from a small shiver
2446. >Damn him
2447. "I think it'll do just fine."
2448. >"Of course you'd like the most expensive one."
2449. >He gives you a sly toothy grin
2450. "I simply accepted your offer. It's up to you really. "
2451. >He laughs
2452. >"You got me there. I think you deserve something nice.”
2453. >He scratches your chin
2454. >”Alrighty, now that you're all dolled up we should probably move on.”
2455. >You're absolutely not blushing
2456. >All this love is gonna go to your head at this rate
2457. >Not that you're complaining
2458. >This is the best you've felt in a long time, in either world
2459. >It begins to dawn on you that love earned far surpasses love taken
2460. >You kind of wish you had learned that earlier
2461. ”I am not ‘Dolled up’”
2462. >A few of his fingers scratch at the top of your head
2463. >”Maybe, maybe not.”
2464. >He motions for you to follow him and you oblige
2465. >Next you make your way over to find some toiletries
2466. >Surprisingly they have stuff for ponies and other equestrian creatures, rather than just earth animal equivalent
2467. >”So, whaddya wanna smell like?”
2468. >You furrow your brow at him making him chuckle
2469. “That's an...odd question.”
2470. >He laughs again
2471. >”Yeah that's fair. “
2472. >You look at the bottles upon bottles that fill the shelves
2473. >The names are absolutely nonsensical
2474. "Mango berry blast, foxcrest, nightpanther? Who names these?"
2475. >"I wish I knew, they probably get paid an absurd amount for it too."
2476. "People get paid for this?"
2477. >His warm hand rubs your withers
2478. >"You'd be surprised what people make money doing."
2479. >He flips open on of the containers and takes a whiff before
2480. >"Here, try this."
2481. >He pokes the bottle in your direction and you take a whiff
2482. >Its horrendously sweet causing you to recoil and cough
2483. “Ack”
2484. >”Not a fan?”
2485. “It's a bit….sweet.”
2486. >”Alright..uhhhh how about something ... flowery?”
2487. >His hand hovers over a few bottles before grabbing another one and taking a whiff before holding it out for you
2488. >It's also not great and anon is clearly trying to hide his mirth at your displeasure
2489.
2490.
2491. >"C'mon there's gotta be something you like, You didn't seem to have an issue with mine. Did you?"
2492. >"Come to think of it... no."
2493. >He rubs his chin and you can see the gears turning in his head
2494. >"Brainblast!"
2495. "What?"
2496. >"Huh?"
2497. >He looks around for a moment before scooching over and grabbing a bottle from a different section
2498. >"Try this."
2499. >You oblige and much to your surprise it's far better than the previous.
2500. >The smell is much more sharp and less sweet
2501. "Better... What changed?"
2502. >Anon points up at the sign denoting that it's the male section
2503. >You aren't sure what this says about you but it's leaps and bounds better than the previous few
2504. >"Wanna go with this or keep looking?"
2505. "It's fine, I'm not particularly picky."
2506. >"You say that."
2507. >You scoff
2508. >RUDE
2509. "I am not picky."
2510. >He ruffles your mane
2511. >"Said everyone picky ever. Anyway, I've got one more thing to grab and we can skedaddle."
2512. "Skedaddle?"
2513. >You share a chuckle as you walk up to a small machine labeled 'Tag Maker'
2514. >Oh right
2515. >Something about seeing him prepare to tag you of all things reminds you of your situation
2516. >Regardless of how Anon treats you, you're still property at the end of the day
2517. >You feel a twinge in your chest
2518. >Perhaps you got a little too comfortable too fast
2519. >"You alright?"
2520. “Hmm? Yeah.”
2521. >”What's up?”
2522. >You don't quite feel like trauma dumping here and now
2523. >Or ever really
2524. >If nothing else to save the minute amount of pride you have left
2525. “It’s nothing.”
2526. >The warm sensation of his fingers find their way beneath your jaw
2527. >Damn
2528. >It
2529. >"Alrighty."
2530. "Just… forgot what I am for a bit it seems."
2531.
2532. >His hand finds its way between your ears as he fiddles with the machine.
2533. >"How so?"
2534. >You sigh as you watch his other hand tap away at the letters on the screen
2535. >C-H-R-Y-S-
2536. "Wait!"
2537. >He stops and looks over at you with more than a modicum of concern on his face
2538. >"What's wrong?"
2539. >A realization hits you that your outburst may have been a bit… stronger than intended based on the slight panic in Anon's voice
2540. >You clear your throat
2541. "I uh… just thought that.."
2542. >Spit it out you insignificant bug
2543. "Could you just leave it as Chrys? Please?"
2544. >Your face feels like it's on fire
2545. >Anon stares at you with raised eyebrows for what feels like eons
2546. >Even as old as you are, time has never felt so slow
2547. "Say something!"
2548. >You stamp a hoof down making him…
2549. >Laugh?
2550. >He's not mad but you hesitate to call his laugh nervous.
2551. >"Yeah I can do that."
2552. >He types a bit more, which you can only assume is his address/contact information
2553. >A few moments of silence pass
2554. >”So uh, any reason you don't want your full name? I mean, if you don't mind me asking.”
2555. “Anon, I haven't been a queen in a very very long time, and you're the first to call me Chrysalis in almost as long."
2556. >A long exhale escapes from Anon's lips as he scratches the back of his head
2557. >"Damn… I'm sorry Chrys."
2558. "Don't be, I've earned my misfortune."
2559. >He leans down and gently hooks an arm behind your neck, lightly scratching at your withers
2560. >His warm fingers lightly dig against your pliable carapace and massage the muscles beneath
2561. >Your wings let out a quiet chirp
2562. >You probably should feel a little embarrassed but you don't
2563. >"You gotta stop saying you deserve whatever's happend with you."
2564. >You start to speak up but he cuts you off
2565. >"Even if you 'deserve' it."
2566. >You feel like you should hate this
2567. >Yet it's not like you're trapped in the hug
2568. >If you wanted to pull away you could
2569. >"You okay?"
2570. >Are you?
2571. "I suppose so."
2572. >His arm squeezes you
2573. >"That's not a yes."
2574. "I suppose it's not. It isn't a no either."
2575. >A reassuring smirk greets you as your eyes meet his
2576. >Whether you want to or not you smile back
2577. >How does he do it?
2578. >"What do you want me to do about it, hmm?"
2579. >Hearing that sentence said with what you assume is absolute sincerity catches you off guard
2580. "What do you mean?"
2581. >The machine chirps and with his free hand he grabs the freshly printed tag
2582. >He looks at it for a moment before his gaze returns to you
2583. >"Exactly what I said."
2584. >You chuckle
2585. "Such an insincere way to ask an honest question. No tact in that head of yours."
2586. >"Maybe not but you've got a big grin on your face, and feel comfortable enough to tease me back for once."
2587. >Your hoof flies up to cover your mouth making Anon real back in silent laughter
2588. >"Seems like I'm doing something right."
2589. >After a quick, soft pat on your barrel he stands up and leads you over to purchase the collection of new supplies
2590.
2591. >He's an odd one
2592. >Not that you aren't any less odd
2593. >He just makes you feel...
2594. >A way
2595. >You really can't describe it
2596. >Not to mention it almost feels like he wants you to miss behave
2597. >The two of you leave the store and take a seat on a nearby bench
2598. >"So, put any thought into where you wanna go?"
2599. "If… If I may be frank for a moment-"
2600. >"Sure, but only for a moment, these tags are crazy expensive and I dont wanna buy another one."
2601. >You suppress a laugh and slowly exhale.
2602. >Anon winks at you.
2603. "Be honest, what is it you really want from me?"
2604. >He just shrugs
2605. "It has to be something right? I just don't understand what you get from pampering me like this when I haven't earned it."
2606. >"It's just fun for me. Seeing you open up a little by little is cute I guess."
2607. >Did it suddenly get warmer outside?
2608. >"Plus if I'm busy helping fix your problems I don't have to deal with mine."
