-
-
>there was Spike, in a cave with another dragon
-
>he was supposed to go with Twilight to meet Ember in the Dragon Kingdom
-
>too bad he got lost
-
>he thought he saw somepony familiar in the corner of his eye, somepony he was in love with
-
>turned out to be a dragoness with a very similar hair-like fin and color scheme
-
>but for some reason still, without realizing it, he followed her home
-
>fourtunately she was surprisingly nice, and let him stay in her cave for the night, and to help him find his way back in the morning
-
>her name was Diamanda
-
>they had a long, pleasent talk next to a little fire she made
-
>she seemed very interested in Spike's life
-
>sometimes she seemed to just stare at him without really listening, smiling with relaxed eyes
-
>though sometimes she was the one talking, teaching him stuff about dragons, and saying she should teach him more later
-
>later when though?
-
>finally she extinguished the fire and they went to sleep
-
>soon enough in the dark though, she seemed to move and lay very close to Spike, like surrounding him, and just as he was falling asleep he felt her paw resting on his back
-
-
>next day, after a jewel breakfast, she showed him her treasure hoard
-
>pretty shiny and impressive
-
>Spike didn't want to pay much atention though, less he would get "greedy" like that one time
-
>he focused his atention on a painting that wasn't as shiny or pretty as the rest of the stuff
-
>"I could help you organise" he said as he picked the painting
-
>"Oh, good eye!" she said "This one is very valuable."
-
>upon hearing that, Spike wanted to put it back in place just in case
-
>but in his hurry, he tripped and the painting broke
-
>"Oh no" said Diamanda
-
>"OH NO!" shouted Spike, nervously trying to put it back together as the dragoness aproached him "I-I'm sorry Diamanda! I swear I will make--"
-
>Diamanda grabed him and, to his surprise, she carefully and tenderly laid him over her shoulder
-
>"Hushh, Spike. It was an accident. It's alright."
-
>she had rested her paw on his back in a similar way to last night
-
>she was easily carrying him with her other arm alone
-
>eyes wide open, Spike felt odd, but not bad
-
>not bad at all
-
>"Are you sure? You said it was valuable"
-
>"Of course I'm sure, I'm an adult you know"
-
>"Adult? All adult dragons I've met are huuuge"
-
>"Not my species, no"
-
>Silence. She was still carrying him like that, going back and forth
-
>Spike realized he had gotten used to it and opened his eyes wide again
-
>"You can put me down no-"
-
>"I'm not mad, Spike. But let this be a lesson about being careful..."
-
>"Huh yes, of course."
-
>"... and while we are at it, let's make it a lesson about dragon culture."
-
>"Dragon cu... what do you mean?"
-
>"Remember when you first met those teenage dragons? You told me they were always wrestling and doing all sorts of dangerous things. We dragons are like that, we express ourselves physically. But we are not savages, we have authority figures."
-
-
>"Right. The Dragon Ki- Queen."
-
>"Yes, but there are different kinds of hierarchies. A family is one for example, and dragons of higher rank have a duty to dicipline their subordinates when they show disrespect"
-
>"Huh?"
-
>"Imagine I'm somedragon of higuer rank, like a mother, and you are somedragon of lower rank, like a son; and you just broke a valuable treasure on purpose as an act of defiance, wich you didn't, but we are pretending. I would have to dicipline you physically. In this case I would say a spanking would be apropiate."
-
>"A spanking?" Spike's eyes turned teary, realizing he was unable to look at Diamanda's eyes from his position
-
>"It doesn't have to hurt, it only has to get the message across, like this."
-
>and like that, Diamanda started patting his bottom with the hand she had placed on his back until then
-
>it didn't hurt, dragon scales and all, but he surely could feel it
-
>it probably looked like those mother ponies trying to make their babies burp
-
>Spike realized then and there that he always kind of wondered how those baby ponies felt
-
>Amanda wasn't angry, but little did Spike know how much she was smiling to herself, like not wanting to let him go
-
>but soon enough she stopped
-
>there was silence for a second, her hand somewhat pressed against his bottom
-
>she finally let him go, carefully
-
>once Spike was safe on the ground, Diamanda looked away for some reason, not making eye contact, silent
-
-
>"Well... that sure was educational" said Spike "When I do something wrong, Twilight punishes me by making me read a book instead"
-
>"Who?" Diamanda finally said looking at him
-
>"Twilight! The pony I live with. My big pony sister."
-
>"Oh, right. The princess. She must be worried sick. We should be taking you to her."
-
>"Yes."
-
>...
-
>"If we can't find her" Diamanda continued "You could stay another night here, for as long as you need to"
-
>"She should be in Ember's castle"
-
>"The queen's castle, I know how to get there. No problem then. Let's get going."
-
>She headed towards the exit, but Spike remained still, thoughtful
-
>"Diamanda, wait."
-
>"What is it?"
-
>"I'm your guest, am I not?"
-
>"Yes?"
-
>"So in a way, we have a hierarchy, and the host is of higher rank than the guest, and I picked up that painting without asking, so maybe you should really do that dicipline thing to me after all"
-
>"....Are you sure of what you are saying?"
-
>"Well yes. I... I want us to be even and-"
-
>"No. Wait. You are right." Diamanda seemed to be talking to herself as much as to Spike "You are not only my guest, you are also still a baby, whereas I am an adult. Any other dragon may have eaten you, I have a duty to teach you to be more careful"
-
>As she spoke, she aproached Spike again and held him in a similar position to before
-
>She realized then and there that taking care of a kid involved things both pleasent and unpleasent, but she was willing to do wathever necessary, she felt ready
-
>She may make him cry a little this time around, but maybe she could rock him afterwards until he felt better, maybe even kiss him in the forehead
-
>"Be strong. This will only take a moment"
-
>Spike seemed to lay more comfortably and relaxed than the previous time
-
>He knew this wasn't supposed to be pleasent, but he just wanted to be in that odd position a little longer while he still could
-
>Somehow it felt right
-
>He was, after all, still a baby dragon
