                                            "Isn't she the cutest thing?"

                                            "It's amazing how a family can be so alike yet so different!"

                                            "How do you mean?"

                                            "Well, it's just - your mane is so neat and hers is so - pardon my old Ponish - tangled! You aren't angling for a cutie mark in manestyling, are you, my little pony?"

                                            "Oh, ha ha ha"

                                            The mother mare laughed.

                                            "I get this all the time. My cutie mark isn't for brushing manes."

                                            "It's not?"

                                            "Nope. It's for brushing tails."

                                            "Brushing tails? Isn't that the same thing?"

                                            "C'mon and show her, Sandy"

                                            On command, the little filly turned around. The clerk was still confused.

                                            "I don't--"

                                            The mare gave her a light pat on the backside.

                                            "Tail up, missy."

                                            The clerk gasped.

                                            "Oh my! You didn't--"

                                            The little filly's caboose was painted red.

                                            "Only because she was being a brat. Isn't that right dear?"

                                            "Yes, mommy."

                                            "What did we learn?"

                                            "Not to go far in the water where mommy can't see me."

                                            "Good filly."


                                            "So how did you -- when did you--"

                                            "I was a foalsitter to make some extra money for my mom. I hated to admit it, but she was right about one thing - discipline. Yep, I learned many shades of pink and red under her firm hoof."

                                            She blushed, then continued.

                                            "One day I'm at my wit's end with this little colt too big for his saddle and I get out my manebrush. That was the first time of many. Poor colt died of embarrassment - somehow it got out that HIS spanking caused a cutie mark."
