  1. Ch. 7
  2.
  3. >Anon finishes the last of the non-toxic fruits and mushrooms brought to him by the former Queen of the Changelings.
  4. >Licking a bit of berry juice from his fingers, he smiles.
  5. >Chrysalis stares at him, unblinking eyes focused on his every movement.
  6. >Anon ignores her, and looks up towards the sky.
  7. >A soft breeze caresses his cheek.
  8. >He closes his eyes, and sighs.
  9. >Chrysalis leans forward in anticipation.
  10. >Anon slowly looks back down at her.
  11. >”She looks so different than when I first saw her,” he thinks to himself. “Or maybe…”
  12. >He looks past her to the treeline.
  13. A: “Maybe I’m the one who’s different.”
  14. >Chrysalis cocks her head slightly, unsure what Anon is talking about.
  15. >She shifts her posture slightly, as he simply stares off into space for an uncomfortable length of time.
  16. C: “Anon?”
  17. >He snaps back from his thoughts.
  18. A: “Yeah?”
  19. >His flat response almost makes Chrysalis wince, but she suppresses it.
  20. C: “You enjoyed the feast I brought you, yes?”
  21. A: “Oh, yeah. I was really hungry after tussling with this guy,”
  22. >Anon pats the timberwolf behind him.
  23. A: “Thank you.”
  24. >He stands, looking away from her again towards the trees.
  25. >He starts to take a step, but Chrysalis grabs his hand with her magic, gently pulling on him.
  26. C: “That’s it?”
  27. >She looks at him with wide eyes, attempting to conceal the disappointment in her voice.
  28. >Anon looks down at her with a confused expression.
  29. C: “Well?”
  30. A: “What?”
  31. >Exasperated, she stands up and stomps her hoof.
  32. C: “What do you mean ‘what’!? I brought you food! Aren’t you feeling… Love?”
  33. >Chrysalis slowly lowers her voice as Anon’s blank expression confuses her.
  34. >He looks her up and down, squinting his eyes as he seems to ponder something.
  35. >Growing irritated by his silence, she yells.
  36. C: “Well!?”
  37. >Anon smirks.
  38. A: “You know, you’re actually really cute when you’re upset.”
  39. >Taken aback, Chrysalis blushes and scrunches her face.
  40. >Anon kneels down and brushes a lock of her hair from her face, and her expression softens, while her blush deepens.
  41. >He leans in and gently kisses her.
  42. >Her back arches as she tries to lean into his kiss, to draw more love out of him.
  43. >But Anon, instead, pulls away.
  44. >He stands again, and looks away from her, eyes on the horizon.
  45. C: “A-Anon?”
  46. >More confused than before, she tries to read his expression.
  47. >His eyes are full of vigor, his slight smile eluding to thoughts beyond her reach.
  48. C: “I… I want more…”
  49. >She tries to push closer to him, but Anon place a hand on her head, stopping her.
  50. A: “Not now. I want out of this damn forest.”
  51. C: “Wha-? Don’t defy me! Give me your love!”
  52. >Rather than sounding angry, or demanding, her voice sounds hurt. Pleading.
  53. >Anon doesn’t respond.
  54. >Instead, with one quick motion he picks her up and throws her over his shoulder.
  55. C: “W-what are you-?”
  56. >Anon walks over to the timberwolf, and it stands up, as if responding to some silent command.
  57. >Without a word anon slings Chrysalis onto its back, and then hops on himself.
  58. A: “Let’s go.”
  59. >The timberwolf shivers, and then takes off at a full sprint.
  60. >As the blur of green and brown passes them by, and the sound of creaking wood and snapping twigs echoes around them, Chrysalis cannot help but look up at Anon.
  61. >He looks forward, paying the Changeling little mind as they speed through the trees.
  62. >His visage is one of determination, of clear intent.
  63. >Chrysalis jostles about as the timberwolf leaps across a stream, and is suddenly made aware of the embarrassing position she’s been put in, strewn across the beast’s back like a sack.
  64. >She opens her mouth, ready to protest her predicament, but seeing Anon’s face drives the thought from her mind.
  65. >Instead, she simply smiles.
  66. >”Soon.” She thinks to herself. “Very soon…”
  67.
  68. ~
  69.
  70. >The sun begins to set as Anon and Chrysalis finally reach the edge of the Everfree forest.
  71. >A great plain stretches before them, flowers of every color dot the sea of green grass, rolling across like waves as far as the eye can see.
  72. >On the horizon, many miles away, a twinkling reflection of the evening sunlight reveals their destination.
  73. >The Crystal Empire.
  74. >The timberwolf slows its pace, then stops.
  75. >Anon, with a sigh, hops off.
  76. >As he lifts Chrysalis from the beast’s back, she finally breaks the silence.
  77. C: “Why have we stopped?”
  78. >Anon scritches the timberwolf beneath its chin.
  79. A: “We’ll have to walk the rest of the way.”
  80. C: “What? Why?”
  81. A: “This is as far as he can go.”
  82. >With that, Anon nods to the timberwolf. It stares for a moment, then bows its head.
  83. >A gust of wind blows around them, and with a flurry of leaves the timberwolf disappears.
  84. >After a moment, Chrysalis smirks.
  85. C: “So you speak ‘timberwolf’ now?”
  86. >Anon just smiles at her mocking tone.
  87. A: “Nah.”
  88. >He chuckles.
  89. A: “I just- I could tell what it was feeling.”
  90. >The smirk on the Changeling’s face grows as she gives him a mischievous look.
  91. C: “You’re getting stronger…”
  92. >She licks her lips.
  93. C: “Can you tell what *I’m* feeling?”
  94. >Anon ignores her teasing, looking out across the field before them.
  95. A: “It’s going to take us a while to get there. C’mon.”
  96. >Chrysalis doesn’t move.
  97. >After a few steps, Anon realizes that she isn’t following him, and turns around.
  98. A: “What’s wrong?”
  99. C: “Hmph.”
  100. >She turns her nose up at him, and looks away dismissively.
  101. C: “Nothing.”
  102. >She trots over to stand beside him, while refusing to look in his direction.
  103. >Anon sighs.
  104. A: “Are you… Mad?”
  105. >She doesn’t answer.
  106. A: “Tired?”
  107. >Her ear twitches, but she gives no response.
  108. A: “Hmm. Hungry?”
  109. C: “Hmph.“
  110. >Anon grins.
  111. A: “Alright, alright. I get it. We’ll take a break here.”
  112. C: “That isn’t necessary.”
  113. >Her voice is almost a pout.
  114. >Anon laughs.
  115. A: “Clearly it is.”
  116. >He gives a last look over the horizon, then plops down onto the grass.
  117. >He pats his lap.
  118. A: “C’mere.”
  119. >Trying to keep a serious face, Chrysalis silently lays down beside him, and cuddles up close to his side.
  120. >A tiny smile betrays her feelings.
  121. >Anon smiles, too, and puts an arm around her.
  122. >She lets out a quiet gasp at his brazen affection.
  123. >Anon closes his eyes and lays back onto the grass, pulling Chrysalis with him.
  124. >He opens his eyes and stares up at the stars as he holds her close to him.
  125. >He can feel her strange body pulse beneath his grip as she relaxes.
  126. A: “The stars here are beautiful.”
  127. C: “Hmm?”
  128. A: “I’ve never quite got used to how different the sky is here.”
  129. C: “What do you mean?”
  130. A: “It’s just… The sky is so clear. So pristine. So… I don’t know. It makes me happy just to look at it. But also… It makes me kinda sad. You could never see the stars so clearly back in… Back where I come from.”
  131. >Chrysalis looks at the stars, and then leans her head over onto Anon’s shoulder to look at him.
  132. C: “Where *do* you come from?”
  133. >Anon sighs.
  134. A: “I don’t know if you’d believe me if I told you.”
  135. C: “Huh? Nonsense. Tell me.”
  136. A: “I’m from another world. Another dimension, or something.”
  137. C: “How did you get here?”
  138. A: “I don’t know. One day I just… Woke up. And I was here. Well, in Ponyville.”
  139. C: “Ugh. Ponyville.”
  140. >Anon laughs.
  141. A: “The ponies were actually really nice to me when I showed up.”
  142. >Chrysalis is silent for a moment, looking wide-eyed at Anon as he gazes towards the heavens.
  143. C: “So why did you leave? You were pretty far away from that horrible place when we met.”
  144. >Anon sighs.
  145. A: “I’m not like those ponies. They’re too… Nice. I guess I just felt bad being there.”
  146. C: “Humans aren’t nice, then?”
  147. A: “Some are. But most are… How do I put it? Self-centered, I guess. Most people are so focused on their own lives and problems they never really stop to think of anybody else.”
  148. C: “Hmm. Your world is very different from this one, then?”
  149. A: “Oh yeah. Way different. For one, there’s no talking ponies. And the ponies we have look a lot different, too. Not nearly as ‘cute’.”
  150. C: “I think I might enjoy your world, Anon.”
  151. >Anon smiles.
  152. A: “It can be a crazy place. You just might fit in. Why do you hate ponies so much, anyway?”
  153. C: “Their incessant friendliness and positivity are overbearing. They disgust me.”
  154. >Anon chuckles.
  155. A: “You’ve been pretty friendly yourself, recently, Chryssi.”
  156. >She scoffs.
  157. C: “A Queen is expected to provide for her subjects.”
  158. A: “I’m not one of your ‘subjects’.”
  159. C: “You’re my King, and as Queen it is my duty to-”
  160. >Anon’s laughter interrupts her, and he sits up, shaking his head.
  161. C: “W-what? Why are you laughing?”
  162. A: “Since when am I a King?”
  163. >Realizing the implication of what she just said, Chrysalis begins to stammer out a response, but Anon interrupts her, his tone becoming serious.
  164. A: “I’m not a puppet. I’m not gonna roll over and let you control me, Chrysalis.”
  165. >There is silence between them for several minutes.
  166. >Emotions swirl through Chrysalis’s head, and she can’t find the words to express what she wants to say.
  167. C: “Anon…”
  168. A: “Yeah?”
  169. C: “Why do you want to go to the Crystal Empire? I thought… Do you really desire conquest?”
  170. >Anon looks up at the stars.
  171. >”I just want to be free of this curse.” He thinks to himself. “Right?”
  172. >He looks down at his hand.
  173. >”But… Do I really? I’ve never felt so powerful. I’ve never felt so… Alive.”
  174. >He clenches his fist.
  175. >”What *do* I want? Maybe… Maybe this is what I’m meant to be. Maybe I’m…”
  176. A: “I’m a human. Conquest, war… That’s sorta what we do.”
  177. C: “So humans are a race of monsters, after all. You’re only following your nature.”
  178. A: “No, that’s… Not quite right. At least, I don’t think so. Humans in general are… Well I wouldn’t call them monsters.”
  179. >Anon looks back towards the sky, just in time to see a shooting star.
  180. >A wicked smile creeps upon his face.
  181. A: “But me?”
  182. >He points at himself with his thumb, and looks down at Chrysalis beside him.
  183. A: “I’m definitely a monster.”
  184. C: “So you’re not lying when you say you want to take the Crystal Empire?”
  185. >Anon thinks to himself for a moment, and then suddenly stands up.
  186. A: “I’ve decided.”
  187. >Chrysalis looks up at him.
  188. A: “I’m not going to take the Crystal Empire.”
  189. C: “You-”
  190. A: “I’m going to take everything.”
  191. C: “Oh?”
  192. >Chrysalis’s growing concern and broiling despair suddenly begin to fade, as she watches Anon look out upon the night, an odd fire in his eyes.
  193. A: “This world… This perfect little world…”
  194. >He raises his arm, hand outstretched, palm facing upwards.
  195. A: “I’m going to make it mine.”
  196. >His fingers curl into a fist.
  197. A: “No more living like a hermit. No more running away.”
  198. >A vision of Twilight and the other ponies flashes through his mind.
  199. >“No more pain.” He thinks to himself.
  200. C: “Anon…”
  201. >Chrysalis is breathing heavily, staring at Anon with glittering eyes, enraptured by his ambition.
  202. >He looks down at her.
  203. >He’d got so caught up in his own thoughts he almost forgot he was talking to her, and not to himself.
  204. >”This curse…” He thinks. “No. Fuck the curse. This is what I want.”
  205. A: “That means you, too.”
  206. C: “W-what?”
  207. >Chrysalis’s expression is a mix of arousal and worry.
  208. >The dark flames in his eyes frighten her, but at the same time, he’s everything she wanted him to be.
  209. >No.
  210. >He’s more.
  211. >What is this she’s feeling?
  212. >This isn’t love…
  213. >Is it?
  214. >He steps closer to her, standing directly over her.
  215. C: “A-Anon!?”
  216. A: “You’re the first. The first thing in this world I’m taking.”
  217. >He kneels beside her, and reaches out a hand to touch her chin.
  218. A: “You’re mine.”
  219. >A jolt of fear shoots through her, and something finally snaps.
  220. >Chrysalis regains a bit of her composure, and her pride.
  221. >She stands straight up, and knocks Anon’s hand away.
  222. C: “Don’t get ahead of yourself! I am a Queen! I belong to nopony!”
  223. >Anon stands tall, and crosses his arms.
  224. C: “You-!”
  225. >She hesitates.
  226. C: “If anything, you belong to me! I’ll use you to take my revenge on those detestable ponies!”
  227. A: “Go on then. Try it.”
  228. >Silence.
  229. >The two stare each other down.
  230. >Anon stands tall, with a stoic stance and evil smirk.
  231. >Chrysalis stands in a fighting stance, with a defiant glare, horn beginning to blaze with magical fury.
  232. >After several painful seconds, Anon finally moves first, but before he can finish lifting his hand, green electricity explodes from the Changeling Queen’s horn, striking him in the face.
  233. >Chrysalis’s eyes spark with energy as she asserts her dominance using her magic.
  234. C: “Bow before your Queen!”
  235. >He laughs.
  236. A: “No.”
  237. >With a loud *SNAP* her magic flashes brightly and explodes, and the backlash sends her tumbling backwards.
  238. >Anon stands, unscathed, unmoved, still staring her down.
  239. >Chrysalis jumps up and gets back into a fighting stance as quickly as she can.
  240. >She looks into Anon’s eyes, trying to understand what he’s thinking.
  241. >What he’s feeling.
  242. >Pride.
  243. >Greed.
  244. >Lust.
  245. >Chrysalis’s eyes widen as his wicked emotions overwhelm her.
  246. >Her shoulders slump, her body relaxes, and she lowers her head in defeat.
  247. >She is prepared for painful retribution from the Human Monster before her, and closes her eyes as he approaches.
  248. >Anon gently trails a finger down the side of her face, and lifts her chin.
  249. >With ragged breath she nervously allows him to tilt her head up to face him.
  250. A: “Chrysalis.”
  251. >There is no anger in his voice.
  252. >She slowly opens her eyes, and he smiles.
  253. A: “You’re mine.”
  254. >Anon kisses her.
  255. >She closes her eyes again, savoring the taste of his cruel love.
  256. >He breaks the kiss, and she nearly collapses, but he catches her, and leans down, slowly allowing her to regain her footing.
  257. A: “You want me to be your King?”
  258. >She blushes.
  259. C: “Yes…”
  260. A: “Good.”
  261. >He leans towards her ear and whispers.
  262. A: “Because I want you to be my Queen.”
  263. >Chrysalis’s body shudders at his words. She can feel the power emanating from him.
  264. >She never imagined he’d grow in power so quickly.
  265. >There’s no way she can control him now.
  266. >There’s no way she can resist him now.
  267. >But…
  268. >She doesn’t want to control him anymore.
  269. >She doesn’t want to resist him anymore.
  270. >She wants to be controlled.
  271. >She wants to give in.
  272. >She wants him to take her.
  273. C: “Anon…”
  274. >Gently, he pushes her down.
  275. C: “Anon, please…”
  276. >His fingers trail down her neck.
  277. C: “Take me…
  278. >He leans over her.
  279. C: “Make me yours…”
  280. >His hands grasp her waist and pull her closer.
  281. C: “Please…”
  282. >He teases her with soft kisses on her neck, spreading her legs with his hands.
  283. >She gasps.
  284. C: “Please!”
  285. >Anon looks into Chrysalis’s eyes.
  286. C: “Give me your love!”
