A peaceful morning

                                            A soft warmth and the glow of dawn through the window slowly roused you from sleep. As you blinked open your eyes, the first thing you saw was Rainbow Dash's peaceful sleeping face just inches from your own. Her rainbow mane was tousled from sleep, strands of scarlet and azure and violet cascading over the pillow. Her chest rose and fell gently with each breath, the morning light giving her cyan coat a soft, luminous quality.

                                            Careful not to wake her just yet, you gazed at your sky blue marefriend and thought about how lucky you were to share these quiet, tender moments together. Rainbow Dash mumbled in her sleep, something about clearing the skies, and shifted, throwing a foreleg over your side and snuggling closer to you. Her fur was as soft as a downy feather against your skin.

                                            A few minutes later, Rainbow Dash's magenta eyes slowly fluttered open. She gave you a sleepy smile that made your heart melt. "G'morning. How long have you been awake?" she asked with a yawn, her voice still husky from sleep.

                                            "Not long. I didn't want to wake you, you just looked so adorable sleeping." you said, planting a soft kiss on Rainbow Dash's forehead. Her cheeks turned rosy pink at your words.

                                            "Oh stop, I'm not adorable." Rainbow Dash protested, though her grin betrayed her delight at your compliment. "But speaking of adorable, would you mind scratching behind my ears? That always feels so good first thing in the morning." She nuzzled you coaxingly, her mane tickling your neck.

                                            You were happy to oblige, scratching gently behind Rainbow Dash's ears. Her eyes half-closed in contentment and she let out a blissful sigh, her leg twitching reflexively. "Mmm, that's the spot. You're the best." Rainbow Dash murmured drowsily.

                                            She rested her head on your chest, listening to your steady heartbeat as you continued to scratch and massage her ears. Your fingers ran through her soft mane, untangling the occasional snarl you came across. Rainbow Dash made a sound of pure pleasure, her body relaxing into yours.

                                            After a while, Rainbow Dash broke the comfortable silence. "I wish we could just stay like this all day, but I promised Applejack I'd help clear some storm damage from the orchards." She heaved a melodramatic sigh, then chuckled.

                                            You ran your fingers through Rainbow Dash's mane. "It's okay, Dashie. We have tonight to look forward to, and tomorrow morning too."

                                            Rainbow Dash brightened at this. She leaned in and pressed her lips to yours, kissing you deeply and passionately. Her mouth was warm and tasted faintly of strawberries. You slid your arms around her neck, pulling her closer as her tongue flicked gently against your lips. After several long, blissful moments, you parted, breathless.

                                            Rainbow Dash's magenta eyes were half-lidded with love and longing. "See you tonight!" In a flash of rainbow, she was out the door, leaving you with the lingering sensation of her kiss and the memory of her warmth as you prepared to start your own day.
