>Be Anon
-
>Be the youngest of the shy family
-
>Be a pegasus
-
>Be a little little pegasus
-
>Playing with blocks
-
>Gonna build the biggest bridge ever and show mom and dad
-
>Suddenly they're knocked over
-
>Your kingdom, in ruins
-
>Your subjects, broken
-
>Only one pony in this house is enough of a lead hoof to knock over blocks
-
>"Hey mom!? We're out of my favourite juice! Can you fly to the store and get more!?"
-
>You look up the pale blue leg at a face you've wanted to hit since you could first fathom wanting something
-
>Zephyr Breeze
-
>Your older brother
-
>Bane of your existence
-
>Bane of this family's existence if you're honest
-
>You're not sure if he's unaware of how much the rest of the family hates him, or if he's just THAT stupid
-
>Nonetheless, he ruined your playtime
-
>That was sacred, right up there with naptime
-
>You swiftly kick his heavy hooves away a get back to rebuilding
-
>"Oh, hey little bro, didn't see you. How's the weather down there?"
-
>You groan at the joke
-
>He's told it a million times
-
>"You playin' here all by yourself?" He asks, pointing to the destruction he carelessly caused
-
"I was." You emphasise the past tense, but it, like many things, goes over his head
-
>"Well hey, why don't I play with you a little? You know, get some brotherly bonding time in" He tries to wrap a wing around you which you swiftly avoid, shoving him away
-
>Despite being smaller than him, he flops over like a wet noodle anyway
-
>"What is your problem today Anon!?" He asks looking at you confused
-
>As if he didn't just wreck your stuff
-
"My problem is you!" You said pointing a hoof in his face. "You ruined my blocks!"
-
>He scoffs at your words. "Blocks." Then goes off further into the house.
-
"Hey!" You yell down the hall at him. "Leave mom alone today, she's sick!"
-
>"Fresh air will help her feel better."
-
>If he actually-
-
>He did
-
>He actually guilt tripped your sick mother into getting him his stupid juice
-
>Thankfully Shy got them at the door and put a stop to it
-
>She flew out to get the juice while you brought your mom back into bed and tucked her in
-
>You're quite a family, you five
-
>Your sister got mom's coat and a lighter mane, Dad unfortunately passed his genes to Zephyr
-
>Then there was you, a green mix of your mom's yellow and your dad's blue
-
"Can I get you anything else mom?"
-
>She chuckles softly at you. "Oh, you don't need to do anymore, sweetheart, you and flu- you three have done enough for me."
-
>If you had to say one flaw about your mom while held at swordpoint is that she gives Zephyr too much credit
-
"Zephyr almost made things worse" You grumble as you check her cover and pillows once more
-
>"He... tries." Your mom offers
-
"He should try harder." You try to just mutter the words but from your mom's laugh you guess it wasn't quiet enough
-
>You worry briefly when her laugh turns to harsh coughs but she waves you off
-
"I'll at least get you more water."
-
>Before you can fly off, you're gently guided into your mom's chest in a hug
-
>She whispers softly
-
>"I'm so proud of you, Anon, you're already such a big colt. I'll have to fight off mares with a stick when you're older."
-
>This makes you laugh as you try to squirm out of her grip
-
"Mom! I don't even like fillies, they're gross!" It was true, every colt knew this
-
>"Oh? But I see you hang out with Rainbow Dash a lot."
-
"She's the most annoying one!" You argue back.
-
>With a final laugh she let's you go
-
>As you get out of the room you bump into Zephyr
-
"Oh, it's you" You say with a roll of your eyes. "What do you want, Zephyr?"
-
>"I need to talk to mom." He tries to push past you but you place a hoof to his chest.
-
"Why?"
-
>"I wanna ask when she thinks she'll be better. They're offering piano lessons on the other side of Cloudsdale tomorrow and I want to know if she can take me."
-
>You have not yet found a dictionary, thesaurus, or lexicon that contains the words that describe what you think of your brother
-
>But you'll find the words
-
>Even if you have to invent the language
-
>You rise to his face
-
>Normally it'd be less effective with how he was bigger than you
-
>But it worked just fine with how he always backed away from you when you got close to him like this
-
"I'm getting mom water, if I so much as hear her door creak, or hear you bother her for the rest of the day..." You genuinely don't know what you'll do to him
-
>Taping his wings and tossing him off the side of the clouds is the first and most merciful thing that comes to mind
-
>But your silence seems to speak volumes to him as his eyes shrink to pinpricks as he nods and backs away
-
>"Y- you know, little bro, fillies don't like colts who are all... in your face, like you are. If you ever want to get one of the fillies in your class to like you, you should try taking a page out of your big brother's book."
-
>He tries to hold his head high with use of defining your place in the family
-
>But any filly that'd want him isn't a filly you'd want to want you
-
>You actually, physically gag as the thought brings an unholy mental image to yourself
-
>"Ha ha. Real funny, Anon." He huffs and walks away. "Oh, and by the way! Rainbow Dash isn't gross, she's cute, and-"
-
You are officially at your daily Zephyr limit. "Shut up, Zephyr!"
-
>You faintly hear your mom groan from the room
-
>Right, she hates it when you fight with him
-
>Well, it wasn't really a fight
-
>Fights were two way
-
>You quickly get more water and double check if she needs anything before leaving her to rest
-
>When Fluttershy comes back, she fines you clenching your jaw so tight that you're surprised your teeth haven't cracked while you feel a vein bulging in the side of your head
-
>To make sure Zephyr didn't try to sneak into mom's room to bother her, you forced yourself to stay in the same room as him
-
>And
-
>He
-
>Won't
-
>Shut
-
>Up
-
>"Zephyr." While you could get him to listen if you yelled, Shy was able to do it while speaking as softly as mom or dad did. "Don't you have homework to do?"
-
>"Hey sis! Do you have my juice?" He asks, trying to ignore the question.
-
>While you are but a mere apprentice at handling your brother, your sister, is a master. She says nothing. Does nothing. Just waits politely for him to answer her question.
-
>The smile he had at thoughts of juice fades until he bounces back slightly. "I- it's not due for a few days." He says, waving her off
-
>"And what if you get homework at school tomorrow?"
-
>"I'll just-" He starts with a lazy smile before shrinking back as she simply stares at him, then raises a brow. "I'll just... go do it now." He drags himself off the sofa and sadly walks into his room.
-
>You sigh and sag as you finally relax with him gone
-
>Fluttershy comes beside you and wraps you in a wing hug that you happily lean into
-
>"Are you okay?" She asks softly
-
"No!" You fume. "He's awful! He tried to bother mom about his stupid juice instead of waiting for dad, then, when you left, he tried to bother her again about some stupid piano lesson, and he knocked over my blocks earlier, and he didn't even say he was sorry!"
-
>There are tears in your eyes
-
>Why are there tears!?
-
>You've always known him this way
-
>But...
-
>But why is he always this way
-
>He's your brother
-
>Why is he so naturally awful
-
>It's like he's too stupid to even realize it
-
>"Nonny..." Shy coos as she cradles you a little
-
>You liked that nickname
-
>"You did SO well today. And I'm gonna tell dad all about it."
-
You sniffle a little at that. "Really?"
-
>"Mhm. And I think he's gonna be proud of you too. Maybe he'll even let you have ice cream."
-
>Ice cream
-
>You heard once that the princesses can eat ice cream whenever they want
-
>That'd be awesome
-
>"I'm sorry he knocked over your blocks."
-
>She had a habit of apologizing for Zephyr cause he never did
-
"It's fine." You mutter. "'was stupid anyway."
-
>Fluttershy chuckles at that. "Anon, you're only four. Lots of fillies and colts your age play with blocks."
-
"Yeah right, like who?" You ask
-
>She briefly looks around herself, checking that you're alone, and you do the same
-
>Then, she leans in. "Can you promise to keep a secret Nonny?"
-
>You nod and she leans a little closer
-
>"Rainbow Dash still has the blocks me and her used to play with when we were your age."
-
>Your eyes widen
-
>Partially in shock
-
>Your kingdom was broken
-
>But it could be rebuilt
-
>You had the technology
-
>You just had to make a quick trip
-
>Your little wings buzz at your back as you take off, startling Fluttershy a little
-
"Can you make sure Zephyr stays in his room until I get back?"
-
>"Um... okay, but why?" She asks, slightly confused
-
"Vengeance." You say quietly before buzzing out the door
-
>It wasn't hard to go to Rainbow Dash's house and back
-
>What was hard was convincing her to let you have the blocks
-
>Mostly because she denied their existence at all
-
>However, when you told her it was to get back at Zephyr, she agreed
-
>On the condition that you took pictures
-
>But that wasn't a condition
-
>It was an obligation
-
>Thus you began constructing your masterpiece
-
>You struggled and toiled for minutes on end
-
>The balance of your blocks had never been more level
-
>Never before had such a height been reached
-
>But soon enough
-
>It was ready
-
>Your lost kingdom, raised anew
-
>A monolith
-
>The monument to your brother's imminent, and unfortunately temporary, demise
-
>Everything was in place
-
>Now to set the bait
-
>You stand beside Zephyr's door and clear your throat
-
>"Hey Fluttershy! Rainbow Dash is at the door for you!"
-
>You hear the telltale signs of him getting out of bed, clearly napping instead of doing his homework.
-
>Hook.
-
>"Rainbow Dash?"
-
>Line.
-
>"Rainbow Dash!"
-
>And sinker.
-
>Predictable as ever, Zephyr charges out of his room to meet his one-sided crush
-
>And straight into your tower of blocks
-
>But it was not one mere tower, no, it was several
-
>And not a simple, single row of towers, oh no
-
>They stretched out into the hallway
-
>He was pelted and pummelled by dozens, if not hundreds of falling blocks of wood that his hooves and wings could do nothing to defend from
-
>FInally, your subjects were avenged
-
>All the while you laughed maniacally as you took picture after picture, almost falling out of your flight from how much your stomach hurt
-
>Fluttershy came over to investigate and quickly saw the scene
-
>She gave you a stern look, but ultimately said nothing as she picked Zephyr up to get him a band-aid and cold cloth for his bruises
-
>And, of course, he was crying
-
>Crying that swiftly became wailing when he found out Rainbow Dash wasn't actually here
-
>You knew that Fluttershy was going to sit you down and ask you not to do something like that again
-
>But there was something about today that felt...
-
>Right
-
>You don't know how, and you don't know why
-
>But you're definitely gonna keep doing stuff like this to your brother
-
>Finally, he's useful for something
