  1. "28th day of 4th moon, 125 ANM
  2.
  3. This Green FN pony is a very interesting character. Every time I crossed paths with her in bigcity she seemed aloof, only breaking the ice to crassly boast to her teammates or whoever she just juked. When we would hang out afterward though, she was almost eager to open up about her life, and it shined in the way she told her personal anecdotes. She's not very well read (insert ground-ball players are dumb joke) but she has this way of putting so much emotion behind her stories, while being nonchalant about the events that actually took place, no matter how serious.
  4.
  5. Green came to visit us in Fork for the week, and tonight we stayed up all night chatting in the old castle. At around 5 she got the spontaneous idea to fly to a special spot and watch the sunrise, and theres no stopping her when her brain gets running. I know she's a stronger flyer than me, so I politely declined to not hold her up. She came back about a little after 7:30. While Green was recounting it all, she kept on insisting it wasn't anything special, but the glow in her eyes helped paint a truly beautiful picture... I wish I was there just to rinse off in the waterfall.
  6.
  7. One thing stood out, and of all the things it was how I stayed up to wait for her. She thanked me wholeheartedly, and her voice got creaky when I put my hooves around her. It really wasn't much, and she should know I stay up this late on the regular, but I appreciate her nonetheless. I just wanted her to rest that heavy heart if only for a moment. She's a mare that's seen a lot in her 26 years of life."

  10.
  11. >summer is here, and with it tournament ball season
  12. >while skyball went on through most of the winter and spring, earthball started up once all the plants had bloomed and you could get more than 3 days in a row with no rain
  13. >at least in the warmer equestrian cities that lie south of bigcity
  14. >green FN, being well-known in the scene, always got invites to the big tournaments in los maregeles, whinnyapolis, and even in her home city of florita
  15. >this meant a lot of travelling, seen by her as a perk of being a semi-pro ball player
  16. >and with some PTO finessery, a chance to catch up with her old friends scattered around equestria
  17. >one friendship that was regrowing fast being with Morning Glory, a high school acquaintance that found herself at home in the peaceful valley of Fork
  18. >so at least once a month, green took the scenic route to the exposition train and passed through the serene alpine town
  19. >morning always offering the couch, sorry, ~ottoman~ in her well stocked reading room to crash
  20. >if they even slept, which they rarely do
  21. >tonight being no exception
  22.
  23. >"bro. this one time at Nee-chh we were playing at like 1 AM or somethin stupid and i shit you not i heard a griffon looking for change in the bushes while i was on the bench" green relaxedly droned, stretched out on her back and bundled up in her signature comfy time hoodie
  24. >"sorry, which ones that?" morning glory asked, daintily laid out on the other side, front hooves crossed and holding a cup of tea with her wing
  25. >"oh thats the M.A. one, lets see i think its national-equestrian-earthball-championship, drop the B cuz it sounds cooler"
  26. >morning nodded, listening intently
  27. >she was more of the academic type, but green was too locked in to talk about anything else but her sport
  28. >the smell of wintergreen from her icy hot was a nice touch to the atmosphere
  29. >"so yeah im like, sitting on the bench after a shift and i keep hearing this rustling behind me, and you know i thought it was like someone cleaning up, but it was getting more and more aggressive,"
  30. >"and i shit you not, i see a griffons tail poke up, and then its head came up and it had 2 bits in its beak" green started giggling at the end as she remembered the whole thing
  31. >morning cutesily tipped her head as green got more invested in playing out the moment
  32. >"and like... huehue... you know that one M.A.D. comic where like the griffons rubbing its claws together?" she recounted a particularly deragatory comic that made its rounds among the edgier audiences
  33. >"and hes like *nyehehehheheheh oy vey more bits for me!*" green pulled her front hooves out of her hoodie and rubbed them together, mocking a sinister griffin accent
  34. >morning glory giggled herself into a light smile at greens impression
  35. >green was cracking herself up too
  36. >"and its like bro." she laughed as she threw her hoof up and down, still laughing,
  37. >realizing that morning glory wasnt gonna fill the silence with a stupid joke or derail the story like her teammates would
  38. >"you cant make that shit up mare." still laughing to herself
  39. >"yeah..." morning cutesily said and adjusted herself to look prettier
  40. >green completely oblivious to what she was trying to convey
  41.
  42. >"when i leave the clinic theres a court and theres occasionally stallions playing there"
  43. >"yeah, i crossed paths with em. nice colts."
  44. >"one of them came in and thinks youre like a superstar, she asked me like 'do you know that black and green pegasus that came into town? shes really cu-'"
  45. >green did a 'pffft' and shot her a 'come on now' look
  46. >always crass, even when being humble
  47. >"those cali colts are *nasty*, like. put it this way"
  48. >green sat a little more upright like she was about to explain a concept of rocket science
  49. >"we go to Toro's right? and we do... ok" she wiggled her hoof to say more or less, "usually we make quarters or semis. City wars weve won it a few times but you know, its at the end of the month, everyponys broke and beat up, so does it count?"
  50. >morning was trying to telepathically yell 'youre so cute come over here so i can winghug you and cover your face in smooches' to green but it kept bouncing off her dense skull
  51. >luckily she had a trick up her robe sleeve
  52. >"but NEECH? pfffff, that weekend we won 1 whole game, and we were in two divisions. those stallions can fuckin' *ball.*"
  53. >and greens gestalt was done
  54. >"speaking of..." green exagerated a dad noise as she sat up on her back legs, "...lets see how my knees doing"
  55. >the hoodied mare rolled off the ~ottoman~ and started to pump herself up and down on her back right leg
  56. >greens eyes wandering as her brain ran a full structural analysis on the piece of hamstring holding her LCL together
  57. >her firm, flexing rump may or may not have been right in morning glory's line of sight
  58. >some pink may or may not have flushed in her pearly white cheeks
  59. >"oh yeah. its magicks." green said confidently,
  60. >"did you stock up on mango juice?" she turned the front half of her body back to her friend
  61. >still oblivious to her ass being on full display
  62. >"mmhmmm!" morning glory nodded, hiding her blushing cheeks in the crook of her leg-elbow
  63.
  64. >fff-tunk
  65. >shuffleshuffle
  66. >yoink
  67. >snap
  68. >gluglugluglugluglugluglugluglugluglugluglug
  69. >"*aggggghhhhhhhhhh...*"
  70. >gluglugluglugluglugluglugluglugluglugluglug
  71. >"*mmmmmmmfffff*"
  72. >squeak
  73. >kathunk
  74. >pang
  75. >pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  76. >squeak
  77. >"did you close the fridge?"
  78. >"whoops! my bad"
  79. >pffff-thunk
  80. >green semi-lumbered back out to the reading room, eyes half shut and mouth in a wiggly line of satisfaction
  81. >morning glory was laid out sideways on her end, looking seductively at greens big ole eyes
  82. >with her hoof over the top of a pink heart shaped pillow
  83. >green's pillow of choice for bedtime
  84. >and now green knew that morning knew that green knew that that was her favorite pillow
  85. >and morning knew that green knew that morning knew that green knew what was up
  86. >it was a matter of when, and half the reason green kept looking for excuses to go to Fork
  87. >but still in a state of does-she doesnt-she that made the tension addicting
  88. >even if it was the one thing that made green choose 'freeze' between fight or flight
  89. >morning rose her eyebro-
  90. >BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELCH
  91. >now the air smelled faintly of mango juice
  92. >"nice." green complemented herself
  93. >morning did a quick but graceful facehoof
  94.
  95. >"putch'yer head right here" morning patted the pillow
  96. >green flushed magenta
  97. >trying to find the right key to hit for this quicktime event
  98. >oh jocks, never change
  99. >morning stood up and slowly tip-hooved over to the frozen black mare
  100. >rose her right hoof up above greens eyes
  101. >and smoothly pushed her hood back off greens head, exposing her mane and ears
  102. >making a point to gently stroke the full length of it in one fell swoop
  103. >then moved the hoof under her chin, pushing it up a tad
  104. >and pecked green twice with her lips
  105. >one on each burning hot cheek
  106. >backing away and giving green control with a warm smile and deep, caring eyes
  107. >green slowly started one hoof in front of the other
  108. >then slowly got back up on the ~ottoman~, worming her body around morning glory's back legs and into a comfy crevice of the cushions
  109. >once set, she scooted toward her heart pillow as if to go to sleep
  110. >but met a gentle hoof guiding her head down to it
  111. >morning's chest floof was right on green ear
  112. >a shoulder and elbow in the crook of her neck
  113. >and finally: smooth, rhythmic licks on greens exposed mane
  114. >the recipe for how to turn a hyper Green FN into eepy Green FN
  115. >well, the full recipe calls for a dog-bunny-thing plushie tight to her chest, but thats the hometown special
  116. >green was almost in paradise, but still felt the need to play the game
  117. >"hey uh, i need to.."
  118. >green tensed up and tried to get off
  119. >to be stopped by morning's left hoof gently pulling her head back onto the pillow
  120. >followed by more mlems
  121. >its getting... really... late... isnt it?
  122.
  123. >morning glory kept on mlemming her companions mane, tasting of lime flavored monster energy
  124. >all of the muscles in her body starting to relax bit by bit
  125. >green's thumping heartbeats, while they pounded through her head 5 minutes ago, got softer and softer as the tension in her body receded like the tides
  126. >nothing but soft mare breaths and faint buzzing of lightning bugs in the lanterns tickling morning's ears
  127. >green was officially in puddle mode, a source of pure concentrated diabetes
  128. >the cherry on top being green's huge lime eyes revealling themselves under her half opened eyelids
  129. >"hey glory?"
  130. >ilovethemilovethemilovethemilovethem
  131. >"mm?"
  132. >"i have a weird question..."
  133. >"whats that?"
  134. >"can you preen my wings?"
  135. >for a pegasus, that was the highest level of trust you could have for one another
  136. >some were better at it than others, and if morning glory was as good at preening as she was at giving hugs
  137. >"sure!"
  138. >morning started to wiggle herself free
  139. >as did green, who felt the need to rotate 180 degrees
  140. >morning doing a 'pfff' when green's tail hit her in the face
  141. >followed by the sound of both her wings fanning out
  142. >"i did most of the left one yesterday but theres a nasty one on the right i need you to get"
  143. >then... why did you point your left wing toward morning glory?
  144. >her rarity-colored friend did a soft hover over to a spot on the carpet
  145. >"i think you should sprawl out over here~" she coyly suggested
  146. >green reluctantly rose out her sploot, "ok..."
  147. >and then followed suit, sliding into a perfectly straight line from the tip of her nose to the furthest hair on her tail, falling right between her rumpcheeks
  148. >wings fanned out and draped 90 degrees to the rest of her body, following the shape of her torso down to the floor and out
  149. >and right away morning glory got to work with her snoot and mouth
  150. >starting about an eighth-ways up from the base
  151. >oh mare, shes a pro
  152. >out from the base, working front to back in three sections
  153. >air was now flowing through spaces green didnt even know she had
  154. >4 minutes of bliss later, morning gave her one last lick on the tallest tip of a black feather
  155. >and then jammed the point of her nose along the base of greens wings, searching for anything out of the ordinary
  156. >nope, only the beginnings of a bunch of new feathers, time to move on to the right
  157. >the one green was waiting for
  158.
  159. >"theres one in the middle section right on the crease with the rear that was bothering me the whole flight over there. couldnt get it out to save my life" green informed
  160. >not so much pain, more the feeling of somepony pushing the tip of a pen against her wing whenever she flapped it
  161. >morning continuing without a response
  162. >'next pass... ok no. couple more passes?... ok NEXT pass?... COME ON GET THERE ALREADY!' ran through greens head
  163. >while she appreciate the meticulousness of morning's process, she wasnt going to a fashion show
  164. >a couple more licks, and green felt her tounge run over the hard bump between her feathers
  165. >morning stopped, almost shocked, and used her two hooves to pull the strands of feathers apart
  166. >"oh wow," said morning once she finished her assessment
  167. >"told ya."
  168. >morning immediately got to work, using her teeth to pull and pick and prod at the hard mass that was gnarled in greens feathers
  169. >every so often causing an uncomfortable pull and a breathy 'ahh, ahh, ahhh...' from the mare behind it
  170. >morning stopped suddenly
  171. >"oh no, does it hurt?"
  172. >"yeah, just keep going. dont worry about me"
  173. >her white friend kept at it, every yank forcing this delinquent feather back into place
  174. >a hearty grunt behind each one
  175. >"ok, this might hurt a bit..." morning warned
  176. >and with her teeth, grabbed the base of the feather and started to pull up and out
  177. >green winced and creaked loudly until......
  178. >POP
  179.
  180. >greens eyes rolled in the back of her head as she deflated like a balloon
  181. >her wings flared out like a phoenix, coating morning glory in a barrage of loose feathers (from one wing only)
  182. >greens hind flexed, shoving her thighs together to cover the heat between her legs
  183. >and a very, very satisfied exhale
  184. >"oh mare..." was all green could say, "thank you so much"
  185. >"youre welcome greenie"
  186. >morning slid up right alongside
  187. >"look at this" she dropped a black feather out of her mouth and both of them watched it float to the floor
  188. >somehow, some way, the base of this feather curled back, as can happen with ingrown feathers, but continued into a perfect loop-de-loop, knotted itself around, and kinked again at 90 degrees to jam the rest of the feather between the next strands up
  189. >several bite marks chewing up the top from greens past attempts to get rid of it
  190. >its owner was bewildered and impressed
  191. >but so happy it wasnt stuck to her body anymore
  192. >"how in equestria..."
  193. >"stay right there greenie, im not done yet" morning stroked her mane and went back to preening
  194. >the whole time green just stared at this mangled feather wondering all of the 5 Ws about it
  195.
  196. >10 hypnotic minutes later
  197. >"aaaand..." one more lick off the tip, "done!"
  198. >morning gave green a nice smooch on the back of her head
  199. >green started to make activation noises as she unsplooted
  200. >"wait!"
  201. >she immediately resplooted
  202. >"let me check around the base"
  203. >just like with the left, morning dug her snoot deep in greens coat like she was looking for bugs in the grass
  204. >"aaaand, done!"
  205. >a smooch on the cheek as green stretched and stood up
  206. >"wow..."
  207. >green flapped her wings, the amount of airflow making them feel almost weightless
  208. >she could feel so much it almost tickled, so for 30 seconds she stood there giggling and flapping her wings like a small filly
  209. >once she stopped, "thanks again, that felt really nice."
  210. >morning glory did a lemon heart nod of approval
  211. >"so do you want me to preen you too?" green offered to return the favor
  212. >morning shook her head
  213. >"i get my wings preened at the spa, they actually *know* how to take care of pegasi"
  214. >"cant relate, its so hard to find a place on the ground that knows what theyre doing"
  215. >green let out a nice yawn
  216. >"so, greenie." morning said matter of factly, crossing her front hooves, "do you wanna spend the night in the V.S.M. room?"
  217. >"what's that?"
  218. >morning sauntered closer to her friend
  219. >"very, special, mare..." she crooned
  220. >green flushed purple again, but wasnt frozen solid
  221. >"can i bring my pillow?"
  222. >morning nodded, "no hoodies allowed though, thats the dress code"
  223. >"what if i get cold?"
  224. >you dense motherfucker
  225. >"you can keep your back socks on~" she offered flirtatiously
  226. >after this whole night that one comment made it click
  227. >and green started to smoothly slide her hoodie up and off her head
  228. >morning slid a hoof around green's to steer her toward the back of the house
  229. >"i didnt know you like athletes as your guest of honor~" green finally played along
  230. >"its so nice of you to bring me along to your cheer squad~"
  231. >"i am *kind of* a big deal in fla-rita~"
  232. >they were practically glued together by the time morning finished snuffing the lanterns out en route to her room
  233.

  235.
  236. "4th day of the 7th moon, 125 ANM
  237.
  238. Greenie is absolutely devastated. 2 games into the tournament she tore her LCL again. After literally getting shoved to the floor mid-dunk, she popped right back up and charged back, only to get blindsided by her own teammate. I watched her crumple like a sack of apples...
  239.
  240. After the ref stopped the game all Tartarus broke loose. Four of Green's teammates launched off the bench and joined in beating the snot out of the initial perpetrator, I thought they were gonna kill him. The grey stallion that hit her right after was in shambles, whistles were blowing everywhere, and everypony in the stands was still yelling about the first shove. Finally, a whole 3 minutes later, there was enough order that 2 refs and her teammates could help Green off the court, she barely moved in that entire time. Her grey friend left the game not long after.
  241.
  242. While I was heading to the locker rooms I crossed paths with him (J.B. is how he introduced himself). He was a wreck, because he was there when Green tore it the first time. I can't imagine the guilt he must be feeling. Apparently Green didn't say anything to him during the whole sequence.
  243.
  244. Finally, I met Green in the locker room, hunched over and hiding under her hoodie. Her knee was bowed outward, and a pulsating sphere the size of a basketball. I tried to coax some words out of her, but she just broke down in tears, and bawled into my chest for what felt like ages. The only thing Greenie said, in labored breaths between sobs was:
  245.
  246. "I just wanna be good at something."
  247.
  248. Nothing about J.B., or the first hit... it was a heavy phrase. Her teammates barrelled in not long after, it sounded like they won by the tone of their obscenities. As Green slowly pulled her stuff together, a beat up red stallion with a blonde mohawk came up to us and gave Green a headbutt of encouragement, followed by a "F- that stallion". His hooves were the size of my shoulder.
  249.
  250. On the way out another injured player offered one of his crutches, he was watching from the sidelines and had some choice words about Green's teammate.
  251.
  252. During the ride back to our hotel she started to talk, and surprisingly there was some life in her voice. I was really trying to understand what was going through her head, and oddly enough she was apologetic to an extent. From her view, she got dropped, and confirmed my initial thought it didnt hurt her that bad since she slid a few hooves. She has a very sexy road rash on her right shoulder though... After she popped up, she thought it was 4 against 2 but didnt see J.B. cutting across to take the stallion that hit her. She "saw red," whatever that means, and went for the charge. Heat of the moment, plus a split second miscommunication, and she ended up with 200 pounds of stallion crashing right into her hips. Green felt her knee snap like a rubber band and immediately knew she was donefor. I'm pretty sure I heard a faint pop amongst the chaos too...
  253.
  254. It was a hectic and heartbreaking day, from watching Green try to walk, and fall over from dragging her leg; watch her try to fly, and get dragged to the ground by a dead limb; try to shower, and take out the curtain rod. It's already 11, Luna it feels like we were just at the court. I don't want to push her, but she needs to make up her mind on if we're staying or going home. Personally, I'd prefer the ladder, and I've insisted that she wouldn't be a burden if she stayed at my house for however long she needs. Her angle is she wants to try to make the most of our trip, figure out how to get back to bigcity, and be there for her team, thinking by some celestial miracle she'll be good to play at some point this weekend. She knows both sides to it, and kept flip flopping whenever she gave one side more than 5 seconds of thought.
  255.
  256. I think I hit most of the big events, Green's curled up in a little doughnut right next to me... exactly how she was after our all nighter at the castle. Her face is so peaceful, truly free from any heavy thoughts"
  257.
  258. "5th Day of the 7th Moon, 125 A.N.M.
  259.
  260. Today was mostly business, since we made the executive decision to go home. Lot of phone calls, lot of cancelling... still lost about 200 bits. Green's surprisingly good at managing crises like this, Celestia knows I couldn't keep it all straight, especially if I was the one who got hurt.
  261.
  262. She wanted to go by the courts, it was on the way to the Train Station so we went. She chatted and B.S'd with everypony like nothing had happened, but when it came time to go every single one of her teammates lined up to give her a hoofshake and a 'get well soon'... it was very heartwarming.
  263.
  264. Sidenote: When she reached the big red stallion (Heat Wave as she'd tell me later), they stopped mid-hug as he mumbled something in her ear. Green burst out laughing for the first time all weekend. J.B. was on his way there, so sadly he missed the whole interaction.
  265.
  266. Her Ortho in Bigcity ("Grizz" as she refers to him, frequent flier I take it) can see her in two weeks, and advised her to "just R&R" until then. Two weeks of pampering Green FN...
  267.
  268. [doodled drawing of Morning Glory doing the :ilovethem: emote]"
  269.
  270. >steam hissed out of the boiler tank, followed by a deep droning whistle that reverberated through the train platform and out into the town streets
  271. >"ALLLLLLLLL ABOOOOOOOOOOOARD!" somepony yelled 5 feet behind green and morning glory, almost making a point to aim right at their ears
  272. >the doormare was kind enough to help Green down the steps to the platform, but that's as far as she went
  273. >between the crutches, her saddlebags, and having effectively having two hooves and a mouth to work with, it was an ordeal pulling herself together
  274. >Green wasn't gonna let her guest get stuck carrying all 4 bags
  275. >resounding chugs boomed right behind them as the exposition train backed out of the station, two engineers trotting alongside and jumping up through the nearest gap in the catwalk
  276. >and as it picked up speed, the train disappeared into the tunnel, and a heavy whistle blasted out into the station and earraped everypony
  277. >then, silence
  278. >the 10 or so fellow ponies had long disappeared to their respective destinations
  279. >not many mares are coming to this small town on a late Thursday morning
  280. >Green heaved her right side onto the bridge of her crutch
  281. >"alright, lets go"
  282. >"where?"
  283. >"your house, right?"
  284. >"uhm, sweetie, you remember how long it took us to get here?"
  285. >"like, 7 minutes"
  286. >"how did we get here?"
  287. >"we flew"
  288. >morning tilted her head
  289. >"oh..."
  290. >green remembered all the hills and the vast river mouth they flew over too
  291. >"oh...." the life got sucked out of her eyes on that one, "soooo, what do we do?" green genuinely asked
  292. >"well, the clinic's 3 blocks from here, and i really should check in with them," morning glory started
  293. >"its only been 2 days"
  294. >last thing green wanted to think about was work, and to drag her special friend there during what was supposed to be a 5 day vacation
  295. >"but, i do have a farmer's cart that i fly into town with, i could carry you home in that,"
  296. >"will i fit?"
  297. >"i dont know"
  298. >"ill live, unless you got a better idea"
  299. >"yeah, lets do that. can you crutch for a few blocks?"
  300. >green confidently nodded, shes a strong mare
  301. >and she made it all the way to the station in florita, this towns not that big anyways
  302. >the last two mares in the station started on their way, leaving behind a flock of birds, ducks and seagulls congregating in the middle
  303.
  304. >the two moved at a snails pace in comparison to their usual flying, morning glory couldnt help herself but stare pitifully at her struggling friend
  305. >"huh... hol... hold on a second..." green gasped out, slumping down on her crutches to catch her breath
  306. >they had reached the last street corner before the road turned a sharp right
  307. >"that was... three blocks right? is it right here?"
  308. >morning really didnt wanna bust her bubble
  309. >"its, three blocks from here" morning pointed down the street
  310. >green stared bewildered down the street, the 3 blocks adding up to double the distance that she had already covered
  311. >she groaned and hung her head, defeated
  312. >"aww, poor filly" morning glory gave green a tight hug and chin nuzzle on the top of her head
  313. >her chest floof was so soft, and mornings hugs could cure cancer
  314. >green took a sharp breath and pulled herself up, resilient
  315. >"alright, lets go." green clak'd her crutches on the sidewalk, primed
  316.
  317. >as the two inched their way down the street, green got some sympathetic looks from the other ponies out and about
  318. >she maybe recognized two or three that stopped to watch her hoop for a couple minutes, but they looked onto Green as if they knew her whole story
  319. >finally, after a long slog, they reached a quaint storefront with a big red cross on the sign
  320. >morning slunk ahead to hold open the door for green, who obtusely passed through into a waiting room
  321. >"Morning! welcome back! is this your friend Green FN?"
  322. >'i dont know you.' flashed across the front of the black mare's head
  323. >"hey Oasis! yeah, aint she a lil' cutie?"
  324. >'no.'
  325. >"did Meadows get my herbs today?"
  326. >"mmhmm! she took her fillies out to the caves, said she'd come back with some Glowshrooms"
  327. >"aww I shouldve told her to say hi to Sodalis for me!"
  328. >"how was your flo-rita trip?"
  329. >"it was actually really fun!"
  330. >'was it?'
  331. >"Greenie injured her knee during a game so that's why were back so soon"
  332. >"awwwe, poor filly" oasis made a face of pity from behind the counter
  333. >'dont ever say that again.'
  334. >"but yeah, uhmm, are the markets still open?"
  335. >Oasis nodded,
  336. >"great! im gonna go back home and snip some herbs, ill be back in about 30"
  337. >'wait arent you off today?'
  338. >"and greenie, make yourself at home~"
  339. >a tight hug with a nice kiss on the side of Green's head
  340. >that put a smile on her face
  341.
  342. >with a jingle of a bell green was on her own
  343. >"come on back here Greenie"
  344. >she *just* sat down
  345. >oasis went around and popped the door open
  346. >then came over to help her up
  347. >"no no, i got it" she politely declined as she heaved herself up and back onto her crutches
  348. >her shoulders and hoofpits were still on fire from the long walk
  349. >Oasis was kind enough to scoop up her saddlebags and carry them behind the employees only door
  350. >green did a small harumph as she started to Clak her way after her
  351. >flying ahead with nice big bounds now that she wasnt carrying all her stuff
  352. >Oasis shimmied open a curtain to one of 6 empty stalls
  353. >"would you like a bed to yourself?"
  354. >green was slightly skeeved out by the whitewashed crashbed and medical equipment
  355. >"no thanks, hey uhm,"
  356. >two awkwardly long crutch-taps and she was close enough to mumble quietly
  357. >"can i see where Morning works?"
  358. >Oasis did a pure, enthusiastic nod
  359. >"follow me!"
  360. >out through the this outpatiet room, and Oasis stuck a hoof in a room to the side to flip the light on
  361. >a whole wall of medicinal herbs in various states of growth stood before them
  362. >each plant in a neat clay pot with a very verbose scientific name labelling it
  363. >and at the very end, a crafting table with a microscope, papers and papers worth of chicken scratch, and of course leaves and crumpled parts of the plants all over the place
  364. >and on her little stool, a hot pink heart-shaped pillow
  365. >you can tell where green decided to park her rump and let her stiff, braced right leg stick out to the floor
  366. >"so do you, like, play on TV?" oasis innocently asked
  367. >'ffffffffffffFUCK'
  368. >"no. i play like, amateur semi pro"
  369. >that made her mind started replaying the incident for the 83rd rerun
  370.
  371. >"do you get paid?"
  372. >"if we win, which ive done"
  373. >"woah, so you are a pro"
  374. >green stifled a snort
  375. >because that was when she reached the moment of glancing up and seeing J.B.'s face as both refs spammed their whistles to stop the game
  376. >it wasnt his fault.
  377. >"can i get you anything? asprin, ice pack..." her companion jumped up to be at green's beck and call
  378. >'no. stop asking.'
  379. >"a new LCL"
  380. >oasis laughed, and not a fake one
  381. >"youre funny. here, try some of this"
  382. >she dug into the bush of plants of the wall and pulled off a nice long vine with textured leaves
  383. >green studied it for a second
  384. >"its what ibuprofens made out of"
  385. >green cautiously bit off half and started grinding it in her teeth
  386. >it tasted like high quality bermuda grass with a minty aftertaste
  387. >"doctor waysis?" a small pink and yellow filly poked her head around the corner
  388. >"hey there sweetie~" green's new fan said like she was her mother
  389. >"my daddy wanted to give you these eggs for helping him"
  390. >the filler handed her a sideways saddlebag with her mouth
  391. >"awwww thank you so much!"
  392. >"whos that new doctor?"
  393. >"oh! this is one of Morning Glory's friends Greenie, shes not a doctor, shes actually a pro basketball player"
  394. >**'no. im not.'**
  395. >"sup"
  396. >the filly wormed her way over to green
  397. >why is she getting envious at the fact she can walk?
  398. >this unnamed filly went over to greens braced leg and wrapped her hooves around the lower half, giving it a nice big ole hug
  399. >green felt the swollen part throbbing against her head
  400. >finally she looked up
  401. >"can you dunk?"
  402. >"yeah"
  403. >"Posey Dew!" a stallions voice called from outside the office
  404.
  405. >wait anypony can just come back here?
  406. >the pink-lemonade colored filly instinctively turned around and wormed her way out the same way she came
  407. >and who green assumed is her dad parked himself in the doorway
  408. >Posey Dew standing perfectly underneath his torso like a layered Chinese Doll
  409. >"here, I wanted to sweeten the deal"
  410. >the anonymous father handed a thick glass bottle to Oasis
  411. >'is that... moonshine?'
  412. >"awwe, thank you!"
  413. >"yeah, we had so many of them eggs they were comin out of our ears, Lunar Boom already sold half of them and now we gotta GIVE the rest away just so we got space for the new pigsty!" oh celestia he liked to talk
  414. >"did you finish the fence for it?"
  415. >"you bet your sweet cheeks i did"
  416. >oasis laughed a bit
  417. >"alright well, stay off that hoof for a week, ill see you around okay?~"
  418. >"the hoofs a long way from the heart."
  419. >a hearty, gruff dad laugh
  420. >"thanks again Docko!" as the two of them left
  421. >"byeeee!" posey called out behind her, Oasis matching it
  422. >green didnt know this place was so close knit that you could pay for surgeries with eggs
  423.
  424. >"so how long have you known Morning Glory?"
  425. >"we went to high school together for a couple years, she was always in the..." green stuck a hoof above her head to emphasize that she was in the upper echelon of her school, "...like the turbo nerd accelerated classes"
  426. >"she is a very smart gal"
  427. >"i liked fucking around with my friends so i said 'no ma'am,' calculus was enough for me"
  428. >Oasis did a lightning quick glance outside when green swore,
  429. >"its kind of funny, cuz, we went to a young fliers prep school, and you know like obviously most of the ponies there were you know, in the Wonderbolts pipeline, so they were kind of, putting all their eggs in that basket if you catch my drift?"
  430. >Docko tilted her head to show interest
  431. >"so what they did is they hired two like, college professors and started a 'magnet program' to essentially poach the smartest pegasi from around cloudsdale and make it look like we were a really good school"
  432. >Oasis was waiting for more
  433. >"and then of course like, make them fly around some clouds once a year because ~student athletes~ or whatever" green recalled all the hoity toity chancellor neighsay talk that she heard throughout her schooling
  434. >the one doctor in the room nodded again, fully expecting more that green didnt have
  435. >"speaking of, how longs it been?"
  436. >"about 20 minutes" oasis said with a glance at the clock
  437. >that heart pillow had morning glory's scent, and green was starting to get clingy
  438.
  439. >"you really like that pillow." Docko pointed out
  440. >green didnt even realize she was holding it tight to her chest, swivelling back and forth on her stool
  441. >which prompted her to semi-casually lower it down under her fronthooves
  442. >"its really pretty here, do you ponies get a lot of tourists?" green tried to get Oasis talking
  443. >"yeah, we get skiers and snowboarders on a good winter. lots of nature-y types, you can spend moons in the woods up there if you want to..."
  444. >green lowered her head and took a nice, long, but subtle snoof of the pillow as she went on
  445. >"...and in the summer there's ponies who like to ride their motorcycles up in the mountains..."
  446. >neuronactivation.wmv
  447. >"...but im sure you know this just from getting here, but were pretty out of the way so not many ponies find their way here"
  448. >not always a bad thing.
  449. >Docko lit up suddenly
  450. >"you came for the perfect weekend! theres a fesitval going on at the"
  451. >BRRRRRRRRING
  452. >oh yeah, she's on the clock
  453. >"whoops! lemme go see what's up, make yourself at home greenie!" oasis said in her singsongy voice and left the room
  454. >green tuned her ears
  455. >very rarely there was a stir from one of the outpatient beds, underneath a couple other ponies working in the lab next to the office
  456. >not that they care about the interloper, who was now on her lonesome
  457. >perfect opportunity get her snoot all over that pillow
  458.
  459. >green was sat half on her rump/mostly upright so the bad leg could stick forward with the heel of her hoof resting on the floor
  460. >it was bearable, but not optimal for comf
  461. >so she tried to scoot her rump back so she could lay forward, requiring her to hoist the braced leg up and horizontal on the stool
  462. >her hoof hanging off the front side
  463. >and the final test, green tried to sink her chest down to the pillow so she could rest her head
  464. >her head barely made it, at the cost of her right glute and hip getting stretched to full extension
  465. >ok, front ways wont work, and this stools too small for a full sploot, lets try sidesleeping
  466. >green rotated on her right side, trying to rest her bad leg like a log
  467. >although as she brought the good leg up to her chest, an involuntary movement under the brace caused her bad knee to electrify to life
  468. >"ahhhhHHHHHH! AH ah ah.." green yelled out, but stifled herself to not alert anypony while she frantically clamored back into a manageable position
  469. >celestia wont even let her have a proper nap
  470. >you dont realize how big, heavy, and inconveniently shaped a leg actually is until you cant bend it
  471. >lets try the other side
  472. >bend the left leg so that her calf rests right in the crease of her right knee
  473. >theeeeeere we go
  474. >now green can wrap her hooves around that pillow and plow her nose into it
  475. >snooooooooooooooooof
  476. >*mmmmmmph*
  477. >morning smells so nice...
  478. >feels so nice...
  479. >glorys chest floof perfectly enveloping her head and ears
  480. >and suddenly greens floating above the street, the gelatinous air streaming by her and sending little pulses into her flapping wings
  481.
  482. >"-aszzzleepalot"
  483. >"Greenie? Green FN?"
  484. >colors of white purple and green sloshed around for two seconds
  485. >"guuuornee greenie"
  486. >"huh?"
  487. >"i said good morning greenie"
  488. >oh... greens in morning's lab
  489. >...and not trotting along a balcony at the top of a 50 story building...
  490. >...and morning's back from snipping the plants...
  491. >...who kissed her forehead 5 seconds ago and is now tending to the 3rd and 4th stories of plants on the wall
  492. >"i dont think ive ever seen a mare sleep that hard in 15 minutes"
  493. >oh yeah, Oasis is still here, plus a new stallion observer in a labcoat
  494. >"you need to be careful with her, shell find a way to sleep anywhere and everywhere"
  495. >Morning Glory shot green a flirty side eye
  496. >the pillow was a psyop all along
  497. >"yeah, good morning... sorry i uh *YAWWWN* didnt mean to pass out" green tried to politely address the ponies in the room, looking a little sheepish
  498. >her head still felt like it was swimming through mud
  499. >"no worries, im happy youre getting your rest!" Docko gave her a big ole smile back
  500. >"so yeah i gave the patient a dose of [drug name] but then her [something sciency] levels kept spiking and i was like 'oook, did you eat any sugar?' and she kept being like 'nonono' and i talked to her husband and he was like 'oh yeah she ate a whole loaf of cornbread'"
  501. >"lemme guess..."
  502. >"old mare crabapple?" both oasis and morning said in unison
  503. >"so *now* i gotta make some [some chemical name] to counter that because she thinks that corn bread 'isnt real sugar'"
  504.
  505. >"scooch."
  506. >morning was coming over with some plants in hoof
  507. >green started to shimmy forward-
  508. >oh.
  509. >gotta move the anchor first
  510. >"i think your friend here's had a long day needs some more nap time~" Docko sweetly commented as Green clumsily moved herself back to some position that resembled normal
  511. >Morning finished reorganizing some stuff at her desk behind Green
  512. >"yeah... look at'er shes justuhhurtwil'fiwwythatneeds'er..." morning blubbered out some babytalk as she snuck up behind and hugged green's head tight, nuzzling the top of her hat with her chin
  513. >Oasis was smitten at the whole display, and Green's cheeks were burning hot
  514. >"mmmmwa mwa mwa~" three smooches for the black mare
  515. >"i got the cart outside, come on out Greenie"
  516. >just needs her
  517. >they fell on the floor. damnit.
  518. >"hey morning?"
  519. >her tail disappeared around the doorframe
  520. >oasis saw the situation and jumped up to hand Green her crutches
  521. >"thanks, i owe you one." green said blankly after getting herself up on all fours
  522. >oasis gave her a sincere nod in return
  523. >"if you need anything at all, youre always welcome to stop by!" she said in her singsongy voice again as Green started to clak her way out
  524. >"haha yeah, and I know Morning's always around, thanks again"
  525. >as she exited she shot the anonymous stallion a 'you saw nothing' look, having not said a word during the whole sequence
  526.
  527. >touchdown at the Morning Glory estate
  528. >not too deep into the boonies, but far enough up the switchback-y side road that it faded into the blind spot of any ponies passing by
  529. >and as Green clak'd her way thru the front door, morning glory shut it behind her
  530. >completing the escort mission of getting her wounded soldier back to base
  531. >for a moment, green slouched on her crutches to catch her breath
  532. >and in that moment, Morning came around to her front and gave her a huge hug, creaking like she was waiting all day for the chance to squeeze her love into Green
  533. >wings included
  534. >"mmmmI GOT YOU HERE FOR TWO WEEKSSSSS!mmm" she said out loud as he wiggled herself and Green side to side
  535. >not without a barrage of smooches and mlems
  536. >green was too caught off guard to return them
  537. >there would be plenty more
  538. >"so what can i get you? i got eeeegs~, i got your mango juuuuice~, i got some bad mooovies~, i can put an ice pack ooon~" morning hovered around her new patient, ecstatic at the chance to serve green whatever she wanted
  539. >green was facing serious decision fatigue, but also blushing at all the stuff she could get by not doing anything
  540. >and picked nothing
  541. >"uhm... nothing much, i just kinda wanna lay down"
  542. >rerun number 84 of the incident was starting
  543. >"okie dokie! ill be over in a bit~"
  544. >geeen hoisted herself up, and finished off the day with 15 long, unenthusiastic claks over to her spot in the reading room
  545. >Morning was sweeping up tufts of black fur and feathers from her preening two days ago
  546. >the ~ottoman~ accepting green's full body sprawl with open arms
  547. >well, more of a sit and rotate into place
  548. >lying on her left side, facing the cushions with the bad leg resting on her calf
  549. >it was 29-29 with 10 minutes in the 4th...
  550.
  551. >nopony had scored since the beginning of the third, Green's defense wasn't giving them an inch and the other side's was a brick wall
  552. >the closest they got was two rim-and-outs that barely squeaked through a sea of bodies
  553. >finally, something gave
  554. >a weird bounce off a flailing arm sent the ball straight up the middle to Green FN
  555. >a gift from Celestia in the form of a 1-on-1 in the right direction
  556. >green put her head down and charged. for all she knew this was gonna ice the game
  557. >lock on, cross the three point, jump straight for the rim and into this stallion's chest
  558. >a dunk she had all day from boxing out Heat Wave on the daily
  559. >until two hooves crushed Green's ribs against her lungs, the next thing she saw and tasted was blue asphalt
  560. >"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? NO CALL!?!?"
  561. >no whistle, no nothing, so be it
  562. >the tides had turned, two good guys and four bad guys going the other way
  563. >she was gonna rip his fucking head off, and receiving a pass she had every right to
  564. >a muddy shockwave lunged into her left hip
  565. >a wet *pang* inside of her back right knee
  566. >blue asphalt again, this time 43 hooves away
  567. >chest floof pressed against the back of her head
  568. >"are you sad greenie?~" morning cooed in her ear
  569. >green was zoned out on a purple thread sticking out of the cushion
  570. >a soft, dejected 'mmm' came out of her throat
  571. >then came some licks on the back of her head
  572. >every so often sending a twitch of electricity down greens spine
  573.
  574. >"imsorryiruinedourvacay-"
  575. >"Tshh." with a hoof on top of her head and a warm smooch on greens cheek
  576. >and of course some more mlems
  577. >greens eyes got hot and murky
  578. >'tia damnit not again.
  579. >green smashed her eyelids together in hopes to wring out the oncoming tears
  580. >"heyuhmm, morning"
  581. >"mm?"
  582. >"can you get me my hoodie?"
  583. >"sure!"
  584. >and not the zip up laid across the chair
  585. >after some rummaging in a saddlebag, morning pulled out a thick bundle of warmness, thick with green's scent
  586. >green had laboriously turned around to receive it
  587. >"hooves up"
  588. >morning was so kind to even dress her friend in need
  589. >greens head popped into the hood like a turtle coming out of its shell
  590. >morning grabbed both cheeks and gave her a kiss on the lips, then pushed her hood down to expose her mane
  591. >as cute as she looked with her ears poking up from underneath, comfort was top priority
  592. >green swung her pegleg back around to the same position as before, morning mounting on top to resume the mlems
  593. >she always loved the feeling of someponys full weight on her, crushing her snowpity back into her body
  594. >"hey morning uhm-" another request?
  595. >"if you had any plans this weekend... dont let me keep you stuck here..."
  596. >"Green FN. *you* are what my weekend's about" morning said with conviction, putting her face right against green's damp cheek
  597. >green choked up again with no way to hide it, tears streaming out of her red, glassy eyes over long, squeaky whimpers
  598. >snooooooooooof
  599. >ahhhhhh...
  600. >morning was gently petting between greens ears
  601. >snoofle
  602. >swallow
  603. >"do you have any pasta?" green asked, not having eaten since the mystery plant back at the clinic
  604. >morning sat up
  605. >"mmhmm! whattya want, hay or garden plants?"
  606. >"dealer's choice"
  607. >morning hovered off her companion and touched down on the ground
  608. >"i think youre gonna like what i got up my sleeve~" morning turned her head around to put that thought in Green's head
  609.
  610. "7th day of the 7th moon, 125 A.N.M.
  611.
  612. Yesterday I flew Greenie up to the castle for the Seige Day Festival, and guess who I ran into?
  613.
  614. Sodalis!
  615.
  616. Luna, it's been years since I've been able to catch up with her. I could've sworn she moved to a place like Bigcity to be with her fellow bats, but that was just a rumor. She's still here, living in that cave with the honorary flock. Hasn't changed a bit either, still has that hard snouted can-do attitude with a spine of steel, going on 16 years and counting without even a parent to take care of her. Still dresses as 'Emotional' or 'Emo' as the ones in with it say.
  617.
  618. There's a lot more we need to chat about, so she's going to come over tomorrow night. Greenie's gonna meet her too, I feel like they'll get along like a house on fire. Speaking of her, she is so spoiled and I absolutely love it. For the first two days she was hesitant to ask for anything, almost like a house cat when you bring them home. Not 48 hours later, and she literally asked me to come over and pet her head as I was passing through.
  619.
  620. Right now she's chowing on a big ole' pot of fig pasta I made for her, at this rate I'm gonna need to plant a whole new row before Monday! When that food coma hits though, she practically melts into your hooves. My front legs fit perfectly around her chiseled shoulders, pulling her thick, hard chest right against mine. If you hold her close enough, you can feel the vibration of her heart beating up in her head. She is truly an athletic specimen. And those hips and legs on her, my Luna. I almost want to hide her socks so that view would belong to me and me alone. Just the way her rumpcheek tightens and creases over the top of the fold when she takes a step... What I would do to see her in a skirt and some panties... even if she would never ever let me...
  621.
  622. I shouldn't ramble too much. As for what she thinks, the feelings are there, behind those lime green eyes every time we look at each other. She's very pensive about acting on them though, but I give her her space. It's almost like dating a virgin, but if I'm not wrong I think she's had 3 marefriends before me? I'm not sure, not that it matters. I might have a bead on how to crack her code, because she always gets hoofsy after I make her food. I know it's coming, one day. Have I been seeing a housecat in disguise this whole time?"
