System Ch 2

“So where are you from partner? I don't think I've ever seen anything like you?”

 

Sweetie Squeaks out “he's a human applejack just like the stories!” The other crusaders voice their support.

 

“I don't know much about stories, but yes I am in fact a human. Though as I said I have no idea as to how I got here.” Walking behind applejack watches his hands, playing with his magic, making different shapes.

 

“Well that's alright partner. I'm sure we'll find Somepony who can help you out. In fact tonight is the summer sun festival, princess Celestia is going to be your best bet for getting—” Applejack is interrupted by a pony yelling out saying a unicorn named Twilight was looking for her.

 

“Ah shucks I forgot! Twilight was supposed to be here to check on preparations! C’mon girls and shadow we need to hurry!” Applejack starts running back to the farm, the rest of the group rushing after her. Soon after arriving at the farm house, standing out front with a napping granny smith, was a short purple and green dragon wearing a purple T-shirt and jeans. Next to him was a unicorn, a head shorter than applejack, wearing a black shirt and skirt.

 

“Howdy partner are you twilight? Girls go off and play” The crusaders are disappointed but after making shadow swear to visit them later they run off.

 

“Yes I am twilight sparkle, and this is Spike I assume you're Applejack—” She finally noticed shadow, confusion clear on her face for a moment before she collected herself.

 

“Yes I am partner, this here is Shadow, a human. Are you here to check on the preparations?” Grabbing twilights hand shakes it up and down.

 

“A human?! But they are just myths and legends th-thats impossible!! Unless…he's here for nightmare moon…” She continues mumbling under her breath.

 

“So uh applejack which way to town? I think she'll be here awhile.” Shadow hasn't stopped playing with his magic the entire walk, and is starting to feel something else. Like his magic but slightly different.

 

“Oh just stay on this path here and walk that way and you'll be in ponyville in no time. Hope to see you at the town hall for the celebration. Oh! Before I forget here, take some for the road.” Applejack hands shadow a basket full of apple based treats.

 

[Acquired Basket of apple treats!]

 

“Oh thanks applejack. They smell amazing, if I stay in ponyville I'll make sure to come back for more.” Waving to applejack and the crusaders, turning away and continuing down the path. A minute or two after walking down the path, Shadow hears a beautiful bird song and walks towards it. Walking into a clearing not far from the path, sees a yellow Pegasus with a pink mane speaking to and directing the birds.

 

“You're doing great! But Mr. Blue Jay, could you be a little quieter please? If you don't mind that is. Okay now let's try again.” As she continues directing the birds, Shadow tries to leave quietly but steps on a twig.

 

SNAP

 

Squeak! Turning around quickly, fluttershy spots shadow. Both just stare at each other.

Squeaks loudly for a few seconds before dashing forward right into Shadows face.

 

“Ooo a human! A real human! I've always wanted to meet one since I was a filly in flight school!” A look of realization flashed across her face. And she backs up some, a blush clear on her face as she hides behind her mane. “Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to get so close I just got so excited and…and-”

 

Cutting her off before she has a panic attack, Shadow gives her a small hug before backing off. “It's ok, it was odd but it's ok. I understand your excitement if I got to meet something or someone I've always wanted to meet. The bird song is quite beautiful, were you the one who organized it?”

 

The cute Pegasus immediately brightens up, her blush vanishing.

“Oh yes I was asked to make the songs for the summer sun celebration! Oh but I couldn't do it without the help of my animal friends. And— OH I completely forgot, but my name is Fluttershy. Could you tell me your name please…if you don't mind.”

She asked, hiding behind her mane once again.

 

Smiling at the shy Pegasus mare pats her head once again.

“It's a pleasure to meet you Fluttershy, my name is Shadow. And I'll let you get back to your animal friends to continue your practice for the celebration—”

 

“FLUTTERSHY LOOK OUT!!!”

SLAM

 

Not a second later a blue blur slams directly into the ground a few feet away from Shadows and Fluttershy's position. Both man and mare jump into the air startled at the sudden arrival, Fluttershy's animal friends take flight and leave quickly. The pair can hear groaning coming from the new crater. Recognition appears on Fluttershy's face, quickly followed by worry.

 

“R-rainbow dash?! Is that you?” A mumbled yeah can be heard from the crater, dust clearing reveals another Pegasus. This one a light blue with a rainbow mane and tail, slowly getting up. Fluttershy quickly rushes over and helps her friend up and looks over her for injuries.

“Rainbow Dash!! Just what were you trying to do?! Is this some sort of new stunt or trick for the celebration? You shouldn't be so reckless you could seriously hurt yourself you know. Really rainbow—”

Rainbow dash now standing up leaning on fluttershy for support cuts her off.

 

“I need to be more careful?! You're here with…THAT THING grabbing you and trying to attack you and—”

 

Now it's Shadows turn the interrupt.

 

“One I'm not a THING I'm a human and my name is Shadow, Two I was not trying to attack her, or grab her. I was giving her a hug to calm her down because she looked like she was about to have a panic attack.”

Before rainbow dash can start shouting again fluttershy gets in between the two of them.

 

“ENOUGH BOTH OF YOU!! RAINBOW HE WASN'T HURTING ME OR TRYING TO ATTACK ME! IT'S AS HE SAID HE WAS JUST COMFORTING ME! NOW I WANT YOU BOTH TO APOLOGIZE TO ONE ANOTHER, AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO ONE ANOTHER! I-if you want to, that is…”

 

Standing there completely frozen from the outburst of the usually quiet and shy mare, rainbow looks towards Shadow.

 

“...I'm sorry for attacking you…I thought you were trying to hurt Fluttershy and overreacted…I'm Rainbow Dash by the way. Fastest flier in all of equestria!!”

 

“... What do you mean by ‘attacking me’ I'm pretty sure you missed and slammed into the ground. But I accept your apology regardless, you're a good friend for trying to save and protect your friend. My name's Shadow, a pleasure to meet you Rainbow Dash.”

 

Rainbow turns red in embarrassment from being reminded of her failed assault, and the praise of being called a good friend. She quickly takes off flying leaving a rainbow trail behind her.

 

“Well that was one hell of an introduction! This place is getting more interesting by the minute.” Lightly laughing turns back to fluttershy hiding behind her mane once more.

“Thanks for stopping the possible fight before it started. But I'll get out of your hair…I mean mane, so you can look for your animal friends.”

 

“Oh it's no problem, she can be quiet…hard headed and jumps to conclusions easily. And I hope you have a wonderful day Shadow, and if you have time later would you like to chat sometime?”

 

“Of course fluttershy, if I stay in ponyville I'll definitely stop by sometime.”

Waving towards the Pegasus as he walks back through the bushes and onto the path. Turning back on the path towards Ponyville, his vision is suddenly filled with pink.

 

“HUHAREYOUNEWTOPPONYVILLETOLIKETWILIGHT?THATMEANSIHAVETOOPLANANDMAKETWOWELCOMETOOPONYVILLEPARTYSANDWELCOMETOOEQUESTRIAPARTYFORAHUMANIRGJTDJDUHDRHGDUHCFUGD!!!”

 

Just as quickly as the Pink pony appeared in Shadows face she disappeared once more. Shadow stands there stunned trying to process what exactly just happened, he looks down at his hands holding a note that read ‘My names Pinkie Pie, the best party pony in equestria!!’ Shadow is most definitely confused but continues forward to Ponyville.

 

A short walk later Shadow is on the outskirts of Ponyville. Standing on the hill overlooking the small busy town as ponies rush around getting ready for what he assumed was the summer sun celebration.

 

“Such a nice town, it feels peaceful and lively.” Walking into the town some nearby ponies stop and stare but move on soon after. A few colts and fillies stare eyes wide with their mouths hanging open while their parents pull and rush them along. Walking along Shadow continues through the town enjoying the sights and occasionally talking to ponies trying to learn more about the town and the summer sun celebration. One of the ponies seeing the rip in his clothes directed him to the ‘Carousel Boutique’ to get it fixed. Entering the Boutique not seeing anyone Shadow calls out.

 

“Uh hello? I was told to look for rarity?”

 

“Just a moment darling~” A few seconds pass before a pure white unicorn mare with a purple mane walks out of the back.

“Welcome to the Carousel Boutique darling~ I am the owner and the fashionista Rarity~ how can I help you.” At that moment she finally noticed who/what was standing in front of her.

Squeaking and dancing on the tip of her hooves.

“A human!! This is just like my romance novels~ a handsome daring human appears and sweeps the beautiful maiden off her hooves~ I've dreamed of this moment forever~ now my knight in shining armor sweep me off my feet~”

 

“...Um I'm not really sure what's going on here so I'm going to go…” Turning around starts to speed walk towards the door. Before rarity yells out.

 

“WAIT..I mean. Please wait darling~ I'm terribly sorry for my uh episode. It's just always been my dream for a human to sweep me off my hooves~ but that's enough of me, how can I help you dear?”

 

Turning back towards rarity still ready to bolt out of the door before he hears it click behind him.

“...I was told that you could help me repair my clothes, they were ripped when I was attacked by a timber wolf to protect three fillies at sweet apple acres.”

 

“A timber wolf at sweet apple acres?! Was one of the fillies you helped named Sweetie Belle!? Is she alright! Oh please tell me she's safe, I couldn't live with myself if my dear sister was hurt!”

 

“Yes she was one of the three fillies, and she's completely fine and safe with applejack and her family at the farm house.”

 

Rushing forward rarity wraps Shadow into a tight hug. “Thank you thank you thank you, thank you for keeping my sister safe if you ever need help don't hesitate to ask me darling~. Now then about your clothes…this'll be easy to fix in a few minutes…are you attending the summer sun celebration? I'll make you a wonderful suit for the occasion, don't worry about paying for it, it's free!”

 

As rarity continues rattling on and on Shadow realized he's going to be here a while.
