  1. "Now where did she go?"
  2. >As you're peering around the table, some movement from the candy bowl catches your eye.
  3. >*muffled sounds of distress*
  4. "Oh."
  5. >You push aside the top lair and find Concerned Pony looking up at you.
  6. "Having fun?"
  7. >"Anon, I'm so glad you found me! I'm not sure how much longer I would've lasted."
  8. >Though she says that, her face is still the usual look of concern.
  9. "How'd this even happen?"
  10. >"I was looking through the candy and accidentally fell in."
  11. "You fell?"
  12. >"Yes."
  13. >Clint Eastwood.png
  14. >"Okay fine, I wanted to see what it would be like to be smothered by love."
  15. >Smiling, you rest your chin on your hand.
  16. "You could've just asked you know."
  17. >"That's different, I thought the candy was made with love."
  18. "...more like chalk..."
  19. >"What was that?"
  20. "Nothing."
  21. >"Can you get me out please? I'm not sure I can stand another minute in here."
  22. "Yeah, one sec."
  23. >Reaching in, you pluck her effortlessly from the bowl and set her next to it.
  24. >"Much better, thanks."
  25. "You're welcome, but next time ask before you go exploring the depths of the candy bowl."
  26. >"Oh ha ha, so funny..."
  27.
  28. ******
  29.
  30. >From how long she's been looking out that window, it has you curious.
  31. "Something interesting going on out there?"
  32. >She turns her attention to you, still wearing that concerned expression as usual.
  33. >"Nothing too much, just watching a family of robins by the bird feeder."
  34. "Oh cool, didn't expect them back so soon."
  35. >"That's because spring came early this year."
  36. "True."
  37. >Getting up from the couch, you join her by the window.
  38. >She points to the bird feeder in the yard, "See?"
  39. “Yeah I do, guess when I go to the store later, I’ll pick up some seeds to refill it.”
  40. >"Can I come?"
  41. >Her voice betrays her expression, but you're certain she would like the car ride.
  42. "Of course you can-"
  43. >"Woohoo!"
  44. "-but you're still going to have to ride in the car seat."
  45. >"Aw come on, Anon."
  46. "Them's the rules, you know that."
  47. >"Please..."
  48. "Did you forget what happened last time we tried that?"
  49. >"It will be different this time, I promise!"
  50. "I don't know..."
  51. >Concerned Pony grabs onto your shirt, "Please please please!"
  52. >Darn this little horse, she always manages to make you crack too easily.
  53. >Sighing, you're probably going to regret this later.
  54. "Fine..."
  55. >"Yay!"
  56. "But if you fall in-between the seats again you're going back to riding in the car seat."
  57. >"Like I said before, I promise it won't happen again."
  58. "Gonna hold you to that."
  59. >She nods rapidly, drawing a smile across your face.
  60. >With that settled, the both of you go back to bird watching.
  61.
  62. ******
  63.
  64. >It’s cool spring afternoon, sun is shining, birds are singing.
  65. >Overall, it’s a beautiful day.
  66. >And you’re currently spending it inside, going through threads on a Mongolian horse whispering forum.
  67. >Despite that, things are starting to feel a bit boring.
  68. >Only one thing can remedy this growing problem.
  69. >Digging through your folders, you find the perfect picture for such an occasion.
  70. >With it and a few words, you reply to a random post.
  71. >thefirerises.jpg
  72. >Just as expected, it ignites a rage similar to a tendy deprived autist.
  73. >Feeling satisfied from your efforts, you sit back and smile at the resulting fall out.
  74. >Another day, another shit post made, such is the life of being Anonymous.
  75. >”Anon, help me!”
  76. >Your current funzies will have to wait though.
  77. “Huh?”
  78. >Quickly tearing your attention away, you look around the room in haste.
  79. >As your eyes search about, you don’t seem to spot her anywhere.
  80. “Uh, where are you?”
  81. >”Up here, hurry!”
  82. >Following the source, you’re finally able to see her little powder blue form.
  83. >You nearly do a double take in the process, she’s in the last place you least expected.
  84. >The top of the bookshelves.
  85. “What the – how’d you even get up there?”
  86. >She waves her hooves about frantically, “Just help me down, I’m scared!”
  87. >This is one of those rare times that her expression fits the situation perfectly.
  88. >There is no time to joke around however, she needs your help and fast.
  89. >You get up from your chair and rush over to her.
  90. >Just one problem though, the top of the shelf is just out of your reach.
  91. >Curse your manlet status!
  92. >”Anon what are you doing?!”
  93. “Alright, stay calm and don’t move, I’ll go get something to help out.”
  94. >”Please hurry!” She squeaks out from the top.
  95. >Nodding, you dart off into the kitchen and grab a stepping stool before returning back.
  96. “I’m back, be right there, just hold on.”
  97.
  98. >She lets out another squeak as you say that.
  99. >Thankfully, you get to the top (albeit a little shaky) and see her at last.
  100. >Concerned Pony is huddled against the wall, shaking like a little chihuahua.
  101. “I’m right here, just give me a sec to get to you.”
  102. >Giving a reassuring smile, you hold your hand to her.
  103. >Still shaking, her eyes remain glued to you and doesn’t move from the wall.
  104. >After waiting for several seconds, you motion to her.
  105. “What are you waiting for? Hop on, I got you.”
  106. >At that, she somehow shrinks further back and mumbles something out.
  107. “Sorry what?”
  108. >Her voice is barely above a whisper as she replies, ”...I’m too scared to move…”
  109. >Oh for the love of…
  110. >Gotta be patient with her Anon, she is a little pony after all.
  111. >Keeping your composure, you gingerly pick her up and bring her close to your chest.
  112. >The second she makes contact, she clings to you like a child, shivering all the while.
  113. >Slowly, you return to the safety of the floor with her.
  114. “It’s alright, I’m here, you’re safe.”
  115. >She mumbles something unintelligible into your shirt.
  116. >Not much more can be done till she calms down.
  117. >Until then, you go sit on the couch with her.
  118. >You stroke her little braided mane, causing her to shudder briefly.
  119. “Shh… it’s okay.”
  120. >While you continue your gentle care to her, you see several notifications pop up on the screen.
  121. >No doubt it’s more replies from the butthurt you caused.
  122. >Well at least you’re far from bored anymore.
  123. >You look back to Concerned Pony and see she is starting to finally relax a little.
  124. >She slowly looks up at you, still wearing her ever permanent expression.
  125. “Feeling better?”
  126. >”Mhm, th-thank you for rescuing me.”
  127. >Smiling, you nod.
  128. “Anytime.”
  129. >For a time, the two of you sit there in silence.
  130. >However, the nagging question returns to the front of your mind, begging to be answered.
  131. “So mind telling me how you got up there?”
  132. >Without missing a beat she states, ”I climbed.”
  133. “You climbed?”
  134.
  135. >She nods slowly like it’s something completely normal for her.
  136. >As you continue to look at her, you frown.
  137. “Okay enough joking, how did you do it, seriously?”
  138. >”I’m not joking, I told you how I did it.”
  139. “That doesn’t make any sense, I can’t even see a way /you/ could even climb up that thing.”
  140. >Pulling back from your shirt, she points to the top of the shelf.
  141. >”I didn’t climb up the side, I climbed along the wire to reach it.”
  142. >As you’re trying to follow what she’s saying, you now notice it.
  143. >The wire you run along the wall for your speakers.
  144. >”See what I’m talking about now?”
  145. “Huh… well yeah, now I do.”
  146. >Nodding contentedly, she goes back to laying on your chest.
  147. >Though as you two return to the comfort of silence, more questions bubble to the surface.
  148. >Ones that you can’t but help to ask.
  149. “If you’re so afraid of heights, why’d you even go up there?”
  150. >Sighing, she shifts a little before answering.
  151. >”I wanted to overlook the entire room from the highest place I could reach.”
  152. “Fair enough, though you could have asked me for help first.”
  153. >”I would’ve, but I wanted to try it on my own since I ask for your help in so many other things.”
  154. >Nodding, you go back to stroking her little mane, causing her to let out a sigh of contentment.
  155. “I’m guessing you didn’t expect to get stuck?”
  156. >”Mhm…”
  157. >As she says that, a couple more notifications pop up, but you ignore them.
  158. >Taking a slow deep breath in; out, you look back down to her.
  159. >She looks so cute laying there.
  160. >It draws a large smile across your face.
  161. “Well at least you learned your lesson, didn’t you.”
  162. >She doesn’t say anything, remaining silent instead.
  163. >Odd.
  164. >You adjust yourself somewhat to get a better look at her face.
  165. >That’s when you notice her eyes are closed.
  166. “Did you fall asleep?”
  167. >”Zzz…”
  168. >Chuckling, you shake your head slowly.
  169. “Should’ve figured that would tire you out, oh well.”
  170. >Today’s another wonderful day, one you share with Concerned Pony.
