Below is an instruction that describes a task. Write a response that appropriately completes the request.
-
Write an MLP:FiM episode with Nightmare Moon as the protagonist.
-
Nightmare Moon stood at the edge of the Everfree Forest, waiting for Twilight Sparkle to make her entrance into a trap that had been set so carefully and precisely. The plan was foolproof; Twilight would enter the forest alone on a quest for knowledge and understanding of friendship, Nightmare Moon would lure her in deeper with the promise of answers, then seize the opportunity to corrupt her mind completely and utterly.
-
-
But where was she? She should have been here by now! Nightmare Moon turned and surveyed the forest around her, the brush crackling under her hooves as she did so. She could see no sign of Twilight Sparkle; not that that would be surprising if she were already within the trap, but it was odd given that she had arrived with the other Elements of Harmony at Ponyville yesterday, and this should have been the first place she came to in her attempt to study friendship.
-
-
But then she saw a flash of movement, and caught sight of another pony, though not the one she had hoped for. "Nightmare Moon!" said the pony. She turned towards her; it was Applejack, with Rarity close behind her. Nightmare Moon felt a moment of panic; this hadn't been part of her plan at all! But that passed almost immediately.
-
-
"What are you doing here?" she asked calmly. "Are you two trying to stop me? That would be most unwise."
-
-
Applejack shook her head. "Nope, Ah ain't tryin' to stop nothin', Nightmare Moon," she said. "Ah know how powerful ya are, and frankly ah don't care much if you take over Equestria again. But Rarity here has a favor ta ask ya."
-
-
Rarity stepped forward. She looked nervous, which was unusual for her given the circumstances. Her voice wavered as she spoke; Nightmare Moon wasn't quite sure why, but she supposed it might have something to do with her new body. "Nightmare Moon," said Rarity, "I know you want your revenge on Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia for what happened a thousand years ago. I know that you don't care about us, or our kingdoms, or anything else in Equestria except for seeing those two ponies destroyed."
-
-
"That is correct," said Nightmare Moon. She didn't like the way this conversation was going. "So what?"
-
-
Rarity looked at her hooves. "I want you to promise not to destroy Ponyville, or my friends there."
-
-
Nightmare Moon stared at Rarity in disbelief. Surely she knew that her request would be useless? "Why should I agree to this?" she asked after a few seconds of incredulous silence. "I cannot imagine you have anything that would interest me..." She let the thought trail off suggestively, but Applejack didn't take the hint.
-
-
"She has somethin', all right," said Applejack. Nightmare Moon looked at her with annoyance; she was supposed to be on her side! "We might not have anythin' that interests you now," Rarity continued, "but we do know something of the Elements of Harmony."
-
-
"The Elements!" said Twilight Sparkle. "Rarity, you can't mean to--" But she was interrupted by Nightmare Moon's roaring laughter. She laughed and laughed until tears were running down her face, and even then it took her a few minutes to compose himself enough to speak again.
-
-
"I had heard rumors," she said, "but I never believed them! You actually think that you possess the Elements of Harmony?" Nightmare Moon started laughing again, but stopped when Applejack stepped protectively in front of Rarity. She shook her head, chuckling to himself.
-
"I'll tell you what," she said. "If you really do have the Elements of Harmony, then I promise not to destroy Ponyville or your friends there." Her eyes were wide with mock innocence as she looked at Rarity. "Do we have a deal?"
