Expiry: Never

  1. >>39859446
  2. >noone was consulted about this
  3. We are a consultative-Monarchy, not a Democracy. Democracies take too long to decide anything, and when they do it's a compromise for the lowest common denominator.
  4. You know what a donkey is? it's a horse when designed by a committee (sorry Octavia)
  5.
  6. However, some of our core members were consulted and agreed, even if no-ling felt good about it. If they want to come forwards to you privately or not is their decision.
  7. I also had material, logistics and planning help from among our membership. It is well known how bad I am at the war math - i'm always ovipositor-deep in politics, I have never had time to learn war.
  8.
  9. It is a good thing we are a Monarchy and I have the final say. Other bugs are lubing up the ovipositors-of-war and begging for an excuse to escalate things. But I am hoping that since we are talking now, we can both be reasonable and reach some kind of compromise.
  10.
  11. >Gytha and I measure our relative autism against eachother
  12. This is like winning the special olympics...
  13.
  14. >I was promised endless waves of attacks too thick for me to handle
  15. That isn't off the table yet, hold your horses!
  16.
  17. >You only saw me as a quick meal to nab before i got online
  18. Factually incorrect. The initial force was because I had no idea what was happening in your nation. You ignored me for ~3-4 days before forces were sent. I had to assume the worst.
  19. I feel my actions were correct and justified at the time, based on the information I had.
  20. My moral failure starts when you finally started responding to me once you had incoming. I didn't call off the attack, hoping for the following:
  21. You would lose myasia and make a new nation. I could explain in full why I did it, and teach you the game better from the ground up. We could all remain happy horse frens together.
  22. Gytha is too much of an optimist for her own good.
  23.
  24. >or be taken by TNN
  25. I swear by the girth of my ovipositor, that will never happen if I can avoid it by any means at my disposal.
  26. I have no desire to see more nations fall into the hooves of our competitors.
  27. Least of all Changeling territories. The hives belong together.
  28. Remember, the core of our membership was the Defamation League. I would be lynched if I let TNN take territory from us.
  29. Though I do apologize for using TNN to launch the reclaimation force at myasia on my behalf.
  30. TNN were the option available to me at the time. Which in part shows why I was so desperate for a saddle in reliable hooves: so we have the ability to war effectively, should conflict ever find us.
  31. You have seen how much of a disaster it can be when you need to rely on another alliance for that.
  32.
  33. >I formally apologize for the excess coffee. That was my mistake
  34. Apology accepted. I don't believe you acted out of malice, and this is in large part my failure to teach you well enough. In turn, I apologize for that.
  35.
  36. >>39859537
  37. >My position is that I:
  38. >Did not divert resources to personal or rival aims
  39. You mentioned vanity projects which contradicts this. However, that is a minor grievance which I am willing to overlook.
  40. My issue with you having malls was more to do with your own safety while I was still trying to teach you the game.
  41.
  42. >Did not hoard unreasonable stockpiles of resources [other than coffee]
  43. What I have observed contradicts this. Thousands of precision parts with no apparent use, for example.
  44.
  45. >That I over built some dumb buildings because it makes me feel cool to see big numbers
  46. Number go up! But the tradeoff to this is when building too big it costs the alliance as a whole, since resources are communal, and you get back less and less oil for the amount of apples it takes.
  47. There is also opportunity cost in who could have otherwise been build up using those resources, for a much better return on investment.
  48. And it made us overly-dependent on your nation, which made the possibility of losing it terrifying when you went radio silent for days.
  49.
  50. >That I did not betray any of the interests of Gytha or the CEF
  51. Not intentionally. At some point, ignoring all direction from your alliance leader must be considered acting against their interests, and the alliance as a whole.
  52. I don't know exactly where that point is. But I attempted to work with you for a long time, so feel that line has been crossed.
  53.
  54. >That I myself was betrayed in attempt to just nab my nation rather than deal with the situation through honest means
  55. I have been attempting to deal with it through honest means for a long time, and been ignored.
  56.
  57.
  58. >>39859666
  59. >I told Gytha that I sometimes would not, and to lead messages with caps
  60. Nuts. Either I didn't read this, didn't understand it, or I forgot. Though I keep detailed notes for every one of my members preferences, and our shared plans for them in the game.
  61. It is unlikely I forgot, so I have to assume I overlooked that message.
  62. This is deeply unfortunate. That one piece of information alone would have likely changed everything between us.
  63. And that is the real guilty party in all of this - admin, remake the in-game messaging system please!
  64.
  65. >>39859653
  66. >[read: divorce]
  67. We have had our disagreements, as any couple would.
  68. There has been a large communication breakdown, getting the silent treatment, and needing to resort to friends passing messages between us.
  69. Meanwhile our domestic dispute is causing our friends, both in the CEF and otherwise, to feel compelled to pick a side. I dislike having to involve others in our argument.
  70.
  71. I feel we are both admitting our personal faults now, and working to rectify them, while finding better ways to deal with each other.
  72. Is there any hope for reconciliation?
  73. We have hurt each other, and I would like us to stop doing so. But we could move on from this. I would like to try and make amends, I just don't know how to do so.
  74. I am still of the belief that anypony can learn, and you could be a great asset if we just corrected a few bad habits. You do genuinely mean well.
  75. But since I have been unable to teach you thus far, if you want to try remain with your friends in the CEF, I would ask for another bug to try and take over as your mentor.
  76. At least until things cool off between us, and we have more time to calm down and reflect after all of this.
  77.
  78.
  79. With Love,
  80. Queen Gytha
