Expiry: Never

  1. >Maretime Bay was in the grips of winter. Winter was never Posey’s favorite season; it was too cold for her liking.
  2. >But there is one thing she loves about winter and it is Winter Wishday.
  3. >The holiday makes her reminisce of her childhood with her parents and helping locals with the decorations around the town. And when dusk finally settled, a comet rushes by and she would always make a wish on the flaming ball before ending the celebration with a bonfire.
  4. >Sadly, this year’s holiday was canceled due to a blizzard that was currently devastating the land in a blanket of white.
  5. >Posey’s thoughts about her past wanders to the few friends she has after placing the fresh cookie dough in the oven.
  6. >She hoped her friends were hunkering down from the storm, especially… Anon…
  7. >After closing the oven door, she trotted to the living room as she checked her phone for the weather forecast.
  8. >Out of the corner of her eye, she notices something peculiar out in the snowy distance.
  9. >The creature’s features were hard to pick out due to the raging blizzard, but Posey knew for certain that it was tall, big, and lumbering towards her humble abode.
  10. >Posey stood there, frozen with fear, as she looked at the creature.
  11. >The creature came closer and closer until Posey noticed something unusual about the creature.
  12. >It is no windigo or the abominable snowmare, but something humanoid and bearded.
  13. >Said bearded humanoid is wearing a thick coat and looks like it’s holding something deep inside its person.
  14. >The cogs in Posey’s brain turned for an answer until she saw that the humanoid is none other than…
  15.
  16. ”ANON!!!” Posey cries out in horror as she sees her favorite human struggling to reach her door.
  17. >Posey didn’t hesitate to run out of the door to get to the struggling human.
  18. >As she canters out the door, the snow pierces Posey’s fur like spears; she prefers to be in her warm house right now. But for now, she has to get her favorite human out of the blizzard.
  19. >Anon looks at his favorite pony rushing towards him and smiles. He felt weak, but it didn’t matter to him.
  20. >The weak smile on Anon’s face falters and falls as he feels his body getting heavier.
  21. >He was about to fall into the snow until he was stopped by Posey leaning up against him.
  22. >Posey and Anon struggle towards the house. A half of Posey felt like they wouldn’t make it but the other half had to for Anon.
  23. >She really wishes that her earth pony magic would work, but the blizzard and piling snow is affecting her ability to grow plants to aid her and Anon.
  24. >Closer and closer the two struggle onward.
  25. >Posey looks up to see the human wearily staying awake.
  26. ”Come on, Anon!” Posey yells through the harsh winds, “We’re almost there!”
  27. >Inch by inch, crunch by crunch, the wide open door was getting closer. It’s warmth welcoming them with its embrace, indicating that of safety.
  28. >With one final crunch of wet hooves and boots on snow, man and pony enter the door.
  29. >Anon looked on at the foyer and the living room that connected it.
  30. >Anon was about to speak up until Posey decided to do it for him.
  31. ”WHAT THE BUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!? WHY WERE YOU OUT THERE IN THAT BLIZZARD!?!? ARE YOU RETARDED OR HAVE A DEATH WISH YOU WANT TO FULFILL?!??!” An enraged Posey shrieked.
  32. >Anon’s weary smile was completely drained from its warmness and replaced with a depressed dolefulness.
  33. >The buzzer on the oven let out a harsh beep, causing Posey to not notice Anon’s change of demeanor.
  34. >”UGH! Bucking annoying thing. Just go wrap yourself in those blankets,” Posey grumbled as she trotted off to the kitchen.
  35. >Entering the kitchen, Posey’s brain caught up with all that just happened. The blizzard, Anon in the snow, the piercing cold, the struggle to get him out, and… yelling at him for braving the storm just to see her…
  36. ”Oh what have I done…” Posey mumbled to no one in particular. She felt awful at herself for the attitude she just showed Anon, her favorite human…
  37.
  38. >The yellow pony grabbed the pot holder by the mouth and opened the oven with her hoof.
  39. >She turned around and spat out the pot holder onto the counter.
  40. >That regretful feeling festered more and more as she trotted over to a draw to pull out a rack puller.
  41. >Using the rack puller, she tugged on the oven rack. She gazed at her golden crisp chocolate chip cookies. Such cookies would’ve made her happy.
  42. >She sighed before holding onto the pot holder and grabbing the tray of freshly baked goods.
  43. >Placing the tray on the counter while using her back leg to cut off the oven and lightly bucking the oven shut.
  44. >Posey slowly trotted through the doorway that connected the kitchen to the living room.
  45. >The first thing Posey noticed when she entered the living room was Anon’s wet clothes on the hardwood floor.
  46. >A part of Posey wanted to blow up at Anon for letting his wet garments ruin her floor, while her rational side wanted her to deal with the clothes later.
  47. >Posey slowly and calmly began doing the breathing exercises Windy taught her months ago.
  48. >After Posey felt her heart slow down and heat from her forehead cooled down, she promptly trotted towards Anon.
  49. >She stared at the chilly human warming up in the pile of blankets that covered him like a burrito.
  50. >Anon looked up at Posey with regret in his eyes before looking back down to the floor.
  51. >Posey cleared her throat to attract the human’s attention.
  52. ”I… I’m sorry that I yelled at you. It’s just… you scared me out there in that damn blizzard. You could’ve gotten yourself lost or worse…” Posey muttered as she felt her emotions bubbling out of her mouth.
  53. >”That’s okay, Posey. Looking back at it now, being out there wasn’t one of my brightest ideas,” Anon replied with rekindled warmth in his voice.
  54. “It sure wasn’t… But I don’t understand, why were you out there and not back in your apartment?” Posey asked with curiosity.
  55. >“Well, it’s because I have a gift for you,” Anon answers honestly as reaches under the covers and pulls out a present.
  56. >Posey looked at the present wrapped in red with patterns of comets, cookies, and holiday banners dotted all over it. And looking on top of the present was a green ribbon hugging the gift and a tag on the side saying “To Posey Bloom, From Anon Y. Mous”.
  57. >The yellow pony was taken aback by the gesture. Even after yelling at Anon, he still wanted to give her gifts.
  58. >Posey’s thoughts raced throughout her brain. She felt like she wasn’t worthy of Anon’s kindness.
  59. >Posey carefully untied the ribbon and tore into the wrapping paper.
  60. >The present inside its paper prison was a simple wooden box.
  61. >She lifted the box lid up and to her excitement, she saw that each tube color was made from rare natural materials found throughout Equis.
  62. “ANON!!! How did you manage to get these!?!?! This has to be too expensive for even you to buy!!!” Posey exclaimed.
  63.
  64. >”Well, let’s say I was able to get some of the items with help,” replied Anon as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand while sitting up and causing the blanket to fall down to his waist.
  65. >Posey’s emotions bubbled out as she suddenly grabbed hold of the human and hugged him tightly.
  66. >Anon was taken aback by the sudden gesture Posey was doing as she wasn’t normally the type to be all physical with other creatures beside her earth and pegasi friends.
  67. >Posey felt oddly comfortable hugging the warm hairless human as she felt her mane getting brushed by one hand and hugged tightly around her back by the other hand.
  68. >Posey felt Anon’s other hand creep up through her withers to her mane.
  69. >The blushing Posey pulled away from the green human before could reach the sacred ears and placed the gift on the coffee table.
  70. “*cough* *cough* Well, thank you for the great gift. Let me put your clothes in the washer and we ca- Why do your clothes look so weird?” asked Posey as she lifted the jacket.
  71. >Said jacket was shoddily made with one arm shorter than the other.
  72. >”Well…” Anon sheepishly began as he rubbed the back of his neck, “the pony that was making it said that he would fix it if I paid him extra and I didn’t have the money after spending it on your gift.”
  73. >Posey’s blood began to boil upon hearing that some worthless sack of shit would do that to such a lovely beast like Anon.
  74. >She let off a snort as she snatched the wet garments and trotted towards the laundry room.
  75. >She entered the laundry room and saw the small washing machine and dryer.
  76. >Looking back at the winter clothes, she realized she’ll have to do multiple loads.
  77. “Ah buck me…” Posey grumbled after spitting out the clothes
  78. >Shortly after forcing some of the clothes in the washer, she returned to the living room to see Anon sitting there watching the TV.
  79. >Deciding to be a good host, Posey entered the kitchen to make some hot cocoa.
  80. >Posey sauntered, with a tray full of cookies and two mugs full of cocoa, back into the living room and took a seat right next to Anon.
  81. >”Ooo you made cookies. Were those for me?” Inquired Anon as he reached down for a cookie.
  82. “Actually, they were for me before heading to bed, but… you know,” Posey answered embarrassingly all the while rubbing her withers with her hoof.
  83. “Anyway, what are you watching?” Posey inquired quickly, trying to steer the uncomfortableness of the situation.
  84.
  85. >Posey reached over with both hooves to grab her mug as Anon responded, “Just some film called ‘Mare in the Moon.’ It was on my list to watch my version of that, but I’ll settle with pony ‘Man in the Moon.’”
  86. “I see…” Posey replied, “Just to let you know, your clothes are too big to fit in my washer, so it’s going to take longer to clean.”
  87. >”Thanks for the heads up,” responded Anon with a thumbs up.
  88. >Posey looked at the gesture with confusion. She had seen it before, along with other gestures those digits of his created.
  89. >Posey looked back to the TV with a blush.
  90. >Between watching TV, eating, and returning to the laundry room, she periodically looked at the shirtless Anon.
  91. “No, Posey, don’t look at him,” Posey thought as she tried to keep her attention on the television.
  92. >But everytime she tries to keep her eyes away, they always go back to Anon enjoying the show.
  93. >She wanted to feel his warm embrace against her soft coat. She wanted him to be all hers.
  94. >”Hello? Possseeeyyy? Is there anyone in that noggin of yours?” asked Anon after he clearly noticed Posey’s constant goggling at him amidst the constant noises emanating from the television.
  95. >It took a few moments until Posey snapped out of her stupor and upon realizing this, she needed to find a way out of this situation.
  96. >She hurryingly darted her eyes around her vincity and noticed the empty tray and mug of cocoa sitting on the coffee table.
  97. “Well, would you look at the time! I better put these dishes in the dishwasher and get ready for bed!” Posey hastily remarked as she plopped the tray on her back and trotted to the kitchen.
  98. >After taking care of the dishes, she was now back in the living room where she saw Anon laying on the couch, still watching his show.
  99. “Your clothes will be ready in the morning… sooooo good night, Anon,” Posey said awkwardly; she never had to tell someone good night for a long time since nopony really visited her for a sleepover, not even when she was a foal.
  100. >Looking back at the mare, Anon smiled and replied, “Night, Posey.”
  101. >Posey felt her heart melt upon seeing Anon’s kind smile which she returned the gesture with a small smile.
  102. >Posey walked over to the lightswitch and turned it off before walking down the hall.
  103. >She took a right and entered the laundry room where she finished putting the last of the clothes in the dryer.
  104. >She went straight to her bathroom and turned on the shower lever that jutted from the wall. She looked at the faucet coming alive before turning around to brush her teeth.
  105. >After brushing her teeth, she took a hoof to the shower to fill in if the water was warm.
  106. >Following her approval, she took off her bow to let her mane down.
  107. >Her pink mane flowed in the air with wavy wonder while trotting into the shower.
  108.
  109. >The steam felt good against her body as she began to soak herself in the hot water spraying her like rain.
  110. >She stood there, alone in her thoughts from today’s unexpected guest.
  111. >Her heart pounded hard against her body as she tried to get rid of these thoughts about the ape.
  112. “Come on, Posey, let’s get this over with so you can rest. You’re feeling this way because he gave you a lovely gift. It doesn’t mean he likes you that way…” Posey doubtfully pondered as she began to lather shampoo into her mane, coat, and tail.
  113. >Her thoughts of Anon faded away as she tried to reach a hard to reach place on her back to put the foamy substance on.
  114. “Good grief, I wish I had somepony to wash that region,” Posey quietly groaned as she gave up and let the shower rinse some of the soap down her back.
  115. >By the time she was through with her shower, drying and putting curls in her hair, got into her seafoam green nightgown, and took off her curls, she exited and focused her gaze on Anon sleeping on the couch.
  116. >She sighed and trotted into her bedroom.
  117.
  118. >She entered her bed and grabbed a hold of her favorite sleeping mask to place them over her eyes.
  119. >Eventually, she dozed off into a deep slumber.
  120. “Huh? Where am I? Oh, I must’ve passed out,” Posey ponders as she trots through her dining room to get to her kitchen.
  121. >As she passes the foyer, which connects the dining room to the living room, she notices something out in the distance. It’s big and lumbering.
  122. >The brightly colored pony looks out to see the lumbering creature getting confused in the blizzard as it wages on harder than usual.
  123. >The humanoid beast begins to take a left turn, completely missing its trajectory.
  124. >Posey was unsure on who or what that was and why they would be coming out here during this snow storm.
  125. >She ponders on through the list of friends she has until she realizes one name that stuck out.
  126. “ANON!!!” Posey shrieks as she hurryingly puts on her scarf and earmuffs.
  127. >She gallops out of the door and into the harsh winter.
  128. >The blizzard pierces through her coat like icy spears as she tries to look for her favorite human.
  129. “ANON!!! ANON!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!” she shouts into the whiteout, but the only thing that returns is the whistling sound of wind.
  130. >As she was about to give up and get some help from town, the blizzard suddenly stopped.
  131. >Posey looks around and notices a group of ponies huddling together over something laying in the snow.
  132. >Posey closes the distance and notices…
  133. “ANON!!!” Posey screams as she gallops over to his body.
  134. >She grabs hold of the dead human in her hooves, trying to cradle him as tears trickle down her face.
  135. >”It’s your fault,” said a voice, calling for Posey to look up to the ponies in front of her
  136. >Right in front of her is Sunny Starscout with a scowl on her face.
  137. “W-What?” Posey stumbles on her words as she hears Sunny’s voice pick up again.
  138. >”It’s your fault, you dolt! You could’ve saved him!” Sunny yells as the locals crowd around the cowering yellow pony.
  139. “And you think I didn’t try!?! It’s hard to see in that blizzard!!! How about you?!?” Posey loudly retorts as she gazes at all the ponies.
  140. >”OH! WE HAVE BEEN FOR HOURS!” Sunny shouts back as her horn lights up with a fierce glow.
  141. >”GRAB A HOLD OF HER!!!” Hitch shouts as some ponies grab a hold on Posey.
  142. “NO, PLEASE!!! S-STOP!!!” Posey cries out in horror as she sees the glowing horn inch closer and closer to her chest.
  143. >Posey’s tear filled eyes shot open and a gasp escaped from her mouth as she sat up in bed.
  144. “I-it’s a dream?” Posey asked herself as she began to feel herself all over.
  145. >She looked down at her chest to see that it was still in one piece and let out a relief breath.
  146. >Feeling her face, she noticed that tears ran down her damp cheeks as she laid a hoof on them.
  147. >She didn’t know what to say until she recognized the sound of running water from the bathroom.
  148.
  149. >She got up from her bed and trotted out of her room to get to the bathroom door.
  150. “Anon?” Posey questioned the person behind the oak door. The trickling pattern of the shower hitting the tile floor soothed her emotions.
  151. >”Hm? Oh, hey Posey. Sorry about taking a shower without asking you, but when I took a whiff this morning, well let’s say I smelled like something died,” Anon replied all the while the sound of a bottle cap being opened and then closed.
  152. “I-... *sigh* That’s alright… I’m gonna make some breakfast while you’re busy,” Posey mentioned before trotting slowly to the kitchen as Anon mentions about him cleaning the blankets after his shower.
  153. >She opened the fridge and peered inside. She needs to get some groceries when this blizzard blows over.
  154. “Eggs it is,” Posey stated blankly as she hoofed over a carton of eggs and placed it on the counter right next to the stove.
  155. >By the time she got her stuff ready and was cooking, her mind wandered off to the nightmare as the eggs sizzled in the pan.
  156. “Thank hoofness, Anon’s not dead. I wouldn’t know what to do if he died…” Posey thought to herself until…
  157. >”Pose? You alri-”
  158. “AH!” exclaimed Posey as she turned around with an expression only fit for seeing a ghost, “Don’t scare me like that!”
  159. >”Huh?” Anon ponders before looking down at his bare feet, “Oops, completely forgot that you all aren’t used to non-hoofed creatures.”
  160. Posey sighed before answering, “Just please announce yourself before you enter a room. I don’t like being spooked.”
  161. >“Got it, boss,” Anon replied cheekily while he gave her a thumbs up.
  162. “And don’t call me boss. It reminds me of the knuckleheads I have to work with and don’t get me started on my boss. She’s 80 something years old, cranky, and has a dog’s face,” Posey ranted as she flipped an egg onto a plate.
  163. >”Really? Since when did they arrive?” Anon asked with curiosity in his voice as he sat down at the kitchen table.
  164. “Four weeks ago. The previous ones retired or moved, so we had to hire a pegasus and a hornhead. One’s from Las Pegasus and the other is from Green Hay,” groaned Posey as she finished placing two eggs on each plate, “They’ve been giving me a hard time.”
  165.
  166. >Posey took one plate at a time and brought them to the table.
  167. >”You want me to get the utensils?” Anon asked, wanting to be helpful for the stressed mare.
  168. “Sure, top second draw,” Posey answered as she trotted towards the fridge to get some orange juice.
  169. >After grabbing the utensils, two slices of bread, and filling two glasses with OJ, the two sat down facing each other as they began to dig in.
  170. >As they ate, Posey's thoughts wandered to a question, Anon’s past life, but she decided against it. Even though the human has been living in Maretime Bay well over two years, asking a personal question about his old life he’s been suddenly ripped away from and thrown through the cosmos to a new world didn’t sit right with her.
  171. >”Trying a new mane style?” Anon asked as he tried to break the ice in the quiet room.
  172. “Hmm? Oh, nah. It just gets kind of messy after sleeping,” Posey replied before taking another bite of her scrambled eggs, “I just don’t find it appeasing.”
  173. >”Really? I heard from Rocky that a messy mane style was in style awhile back. Well, looks like you can naturally pull it off,” Anon remarked as he took a sip from his glass.
  174. >Posey was speechless from his casual remark to the point that her crimson blush was showing through her coat.
  175. ”I-It does?” asked Posey, dumbfounded.
  176. >”Of course!” Anon cheerfully answered as he finished his last piece of bread, “sometimes one needs a change in style.”
  177. >She pondered on what the human said; he was correct that everyone needed a change. Hell, even after experiencing changes in her life, she was unsure to try something new consensually.
  178. >The two friends soon finished off their meal and Anon offered to take care of the dishes while Posey went to her room.
  179. >After entering her room, Posey trotted to the dresser mirror, took off her nightgown to be hanged, pulled open a drawer, and grabbed her mane brush.
  180. >But before starting, she looked at her messy mane. She blushed and smiled a small smile as she looked at herself in the mirror, those bubbling feelings returning shortly before she began to work on her mane.
  181. >After ten minutes of combing her hair and attaching her green bows to her mane and tail, she was back in the living room with Anon.
  182.
  183. >As she was about to sit down, the lights started to flicker.
  184. >”That doesn’t seem good,” stated Anon as he peered up at the lightbulls.
  185. “No, it doesn’t,” Posey grumbled as she pulled out her phone to check the weather.
  186. >The weather app on her phone tapped on and began to load the weather, but it never came.
  187. “Come on, you stupid phone. Load up!” Posey complained as her patience was beginning to waver. With no luck, the weather never finished loading, leaving Posey to look up at the signal bar and seeing none.
  188. “Great, we have no service. When will those pegasi finish those new cloud routes?” Posey asked as she placed her phone on the coffee table.
  189. >Flipping the tv remote to the news channel, Anon simply replied, “ZBS said that it’s due to a shortage of employees and materials to make new weather machines, plus Sunny is having a tough time with some ruthless politicians, with several cities not wanting pegasi tech in their neck of the woods.”
  190. >The constant channel surfing came to an abrupt stop as the news blared the voice of a stallion in his mid fifties out of the TV speakers.
  191. >The two listened carefully to what the news reporter was saying.
  192. >”Even though the blizzard has passed by and the sun is shining, several cities on Equestria’s east coast have reported that they are in total bl-” the stallion’s voice came to a sudden and complete stop as the entire house went dark.
  193. >”Welp, there goes the neighborhood,” Anon simply started.
  194. >Rolling her eyes, Posey got up and trotted to the foyer.
  195. “Then let’s go report the outage to townhall and maybe th-” Posey suddenly stopped speaking after opening the front door to see it blocked by a wall of snow with only a sliver of light creeping through the top.
  196. >Oh shit, I guess we’re trapped,” Anon calmly mentioned as he came up beside her.
  197. “No shit…” Posey quivered out a sentence before beginning to panic at the idea of being trapped.
  198. >”Pose, calm down. There’s gotta be another way to get out,” Anon said calmly as he looked down at the trembling pony.
  199. “CALM!?! HOW CAN I BE CALM, CHIMP! WE’RE TRAPPED IN MY OWN HOME!!!” Posey yelled back.
  200. >”How about the windows upstairs?”Anon asked as Posey desperately tried to calm herself down via Windy’s breathing technique.
  201. “No good, those don’t open. The only way we can possibly get out is either the back door or the windows,” Posey factually stated as she was finally calm enough to form a sentence.
  202. >”Alright, let’s do it,” Anon replied before the two headed off in opposite directions.
  203. >The two thoroughly checked all the windows and the back door, but they were out of luck. They were completely snowed in.
  204. >The two returned to the living room; one was completely calm, while the latter was a bundle of nerves.
  205. “Oh buck oh buck oh buck oh buck,” Posey worryingly repeated as she trotted around the room in the circle
  206. >Anon looked on at the little pony; he felt bad to see her in such agitation. No form of breathing exercise will help her now.
  207. >Anon walked towards Posey, stood in front of her, and picked her up in his arms.
  208. >Posey’s thoughts of being trapped in her own home forever were immediately replaced by Anon’s sudden action.
  209. “L-Let me down!” squawked Posey as she started to squirm and thrash around in the human’s tight grip.
  210. >”Only if you calm down,” Anon replied, denying Posey’s plea.
  211. >Posey disagreed with Anon’s behest, continuing on her ranting and raving. Anon ignored the poor pony’s constant struggling as he walked towards the couch.
  212. >Still holding onto Posey, he took a seat on the couch. With not having to worry about dropping her, he loosened his grip and began to stroke Posey’s withers with his right hand.
  213. “YOU BUCKING GORILLA!!! YOU KNOW I HATE NOT HAVING MY HOOVES ON THE GROUND!!!” Posey fumed as she looked straight at him. Her yellow coat on her forehead now red as she boiled with anger like a tea kettle.
  214. “AND NOT ONLY THAT, YOU ALSO DID IT OUT OF THE BLUE!!! I THOUGHT YOU PROMISED THAT YOU WOULDN’T SPOOK ME LIKE THAT!!!” continued the enraged Posey as Anon’s hand rubbed against her. The caressing was slowly, but gradually, calming down the fired-up mare. This went on for minutes with Posey’s constant complaining.
  215.
  216. >”Feeling better now?” Anon calmly asked. In response, Posey softly nickered as she felt her chin being scritched.
  217. >The two sat there for a while, enjoying each other’s company, until Anon noticed a picture on a shelf in the bookcase. In the photo, it was Posey and Windy with each leg around each other like besties.
  218. >”Say, you never told me how you and Windy met,” Anon began, looking down at Posey as she tilted her head up to see his face.
  219. “Well, I met her about four years ago when magic came back to the planet. We weren’t friends at that time and I was horrified to see her in Mane Melody when she barged in to get her mane done,” Posey recalled back to that fateful day when Mane Melody was smaller and only had Jazz as the mane stylist.
  220. “I tried to avoid her and assumed that it was just going to be her living in town. Oh colt, I was dead wrong. Before I knew it, pegasi and unicorns came in droves,” Posey continued, gesturing with her hoof while Anon simply nodded.
  221. “Where was I? Now I remember. I tried to avoid her, but every plan I devised ended up in failure as she managed to force me to have a conversation with her. The constant intrusion was getting to me that one day I went overboard; it was during Maretime Bay Day, and we were having a sand-building contest,” gloomed Posey as that feeling of regret and sorrow crept in as she harked back to that holiday.
  222. “I saw Windy easily winning the contest by using her flight and demanded that she should be disqualified. She was not happy about that, and tensions rose on that beach before Sunny came in and stopped us, which I’m grateful for in hindsight.”
  223. >The room felt cold to Posey despite the good insulation, but Posey still continued on as Anon looked at her and restarted his petting to calm her down.
  224. “After Maretime Bay Day, we didn’t see each other, and when we did, it was usually with hostility. This went on for a while, and it didn’t help that on one of my usual trips to my job, I saw earth ponies using magic. ACTUAL magic! Not the phony stuff Rufus does. I couldn’t believe that we could do magic, so I tried to replicate what other earth ponies were doing, but I couldn’t. I was so mad,” Posey sighed, “I just didn’t know what to do, so I did the only thing I knew what to do.”
  225.
  226. >”Complain.” Anon answered as he laid on the couch’s armrest with one hand and held Posey closely with the other.
  227. “Yes…” replied Posey as she weakly tried to get away from Anon, but was unsuccessful to his magic touch.
  228. “I complained for weeks and blamed everypony for something that was out of their control. And to tell you the truth, I blamed myself for my inability to do magic when I was alone,” she mumbled with regretfulness coating her voice.
  229. >”So how did you and Windy manage to become friends?” Anon asked as he softly scritched Posey’s chin. Posey responded to Anon’s affection with a welcomed hum.
  230. “It started months after Maretime Bay Day; I was trotting back to my house so I wouldn’t have to see everypony and their magic, and suddenly the ground shook underneath me. Before I knew it, the ground started to cave in! It took me and the water fountain with it! Now, here I was, screaming as I’m falling with the fountain coming close behind me. Closing my eyes, I thought I was a goner until I felt a gust a wind come above me,” Posey continued as Anon was in deep suspense on her retailing.
  231. “That gust of wind made me open my eyes to look up and see Windy carrying me! I really thought nopony would save me because of my bitterness…” Posey finished off with glumness as she recalled those memories of loneliness and grief.
  232. >”Pose… It obviously shows that ponies do care for you even after your attitude towards them,” Anon soothed the sad yellow pony.
  233. “I can see that now,” Posey smiled meekly but warmly, “After I was on firm ground, I apologized deeply to Windy about my behavior towards her. She gladly accepted my apology, then she noticed that I was able to do magic. I didn’t believe her for a second until I looked down and saw some roses growing near my hoof,” Posey’s attitude changed as she let out a smile.
  234. “After that life-threatening experience, we’ve become good friends, and I’ve gained new respect for her,” Posey finished as her smile was strengthened by the thought of her best friend.
  235. >Anon was about to speak up until a knock was heard coming from the front door.
  236. >The two sat there frozen and looked on at the corner of the living room that connected to the foyer.
  237. >An audible click was heard from the door, causing Posey to hop off the couch and away from Anon.
  238.
  239. >Turning the corner, Sunny, Izzy, and a couple of townsponies enter the view.
  240. >”Anon!” Sunny exclaimed as she ran up to Anon and gave him a hug, “We’ve been looking for you! I thought you lost your way in that awful blizzard!”
  241. >”Really? Why didn’t you call me?” Anon asked as he scratched his head.
  242. >”We tried! You didn’t pick up until we managed to get into your apartment and saw that you left your phone. I had to form a search and rescue team to look for you,” Sunny replied as tears were forming on her face and her eyes were full of relief.
  243. >”Well, shit,” Anon simply stated as he began to brush the alicorn’s mane.
  244. >”Posey gave you a hard time?” Sunny asked as she looked on at the embarrassed Posey.
  245. >”No way, she’s been lovely the whole time,” Anon responded quickly as he gave Posey a warm smile, melting Posey's heart upon seeing it.
  246. >The power to Posey’s house suddenly came back to life as the blaring noise of TV was heard and the lights shone brightly.
  247. >Soon, everyone was leaving Posey’s house except for Posey, Anon, Sunny, and Izzy.
  248. >Anon reached over and hugged Posey. Posey obviously didn’t like it when two other ponies were looking straight at the two, but she quietly accepted it with a light hug in return.
  249. >Anon and Sunny left as Posey waved at her favorite human until she noticed Izzy looking at her with a smug expression.
  250. “What do you want, hornhead?” asked a bothered Posey.
  251. >”Oh, nothing. It’s just that I know who you like,” Izzy smugly replied to the yellow pony.
  252. “Who!?!? Anon!?!? Never in my wildest dreams would I want to date that tailless monkey!” retorted Posey as she harrumphs while turning her head away to hide her blush.
  253. >Izzy only replied with a giggle as she trots out of Posey’s house.
  254. >Izzy smiled on after Posey slammed the door, knowing she helped Anon with the gift.
