Expiry: Never

  1. >Dear Diary, I still haven't regained count of the days. Days here are not like Canterlot, I have learned a day is close to 30 Earth Hours
  2. >Squad leader Sunset Shimmer has some minorly good news, we have gained extra rations of meat this week
  3. >Some sort of Cobaltian Holiday
  4. >I know I have already explained all that has happened before, but I need to again. Juniper said it might help me regain some sense of self and reality again
  5. >I believe it's been around 1 and a half years, It feels like much longer but last time I say an earth aligned calendar it was around 1 and a half years since this whole thing began
  6. >Who wanted to get dragged into an, and I quote "Interdimentional Temporal War", the Cobaltians saved as much of our race as they could. they're blue insectoids but live much like us and have put aside their ancient history of hive structure.. mostly.. they are loosing this war bad, I believe they only saved us to fight for them.
  7. >We do not really have a choice. the enemy is a jellyfish-like humanoid race. we are not informed of their goals or reasons for the war. this war spans across time, space and planes of existence. We alongside the Cobaltians are one of a hundred factions in this war
  8. >There are other species alongside us, there is a race that resembles Frog-men, another I could not even begin to describe other then the color Orange, their features are shifting constantly.
  9. >The cobaltians have integrated our weapons technology into their own, Not much of an edge but seeing aliens using AK47s made of alien metal is quite odd I will give you that
  10. >Its a simple enough design wtih simple enough bullets that it was very easy to mass produce. their weapons are made of far different materials and often Energy based. same with the enemies. projectile bullets oddly fire faster then their plasma/energy weaponry
  11. >Our weapons flash but the projectiles aren't direct lines to the source like theirs
  12.
  13. >"Wallflower"
  14. "Yes Captain?"
  15. >It was the closest military role to hers in our language, the Cobaltian structure of command was very odd and different
  16. >"We need you to scout ahead again"
  17. >Being invisible has it's perks and drawbacks..
  18. >You gather your things and begin for the journey
  19. >Magic is real.. aliens are real.. energy weapons are real..
  20. >Nothing is fake anymore, it's all real in some form or another
  21. >The sky above features Three suns, casting Three shadows on everything giving this whole accused world a terrible noxious look.. the Black stars hang above in the sickly yellow sky filled with smog and sot
  22. >Smells of decay and rot entirely inhuman. for most of it is inhuman and unearthly..
  23. >You're crouched walking through the pike-trees.. they're like trees with no branches ending in a pike-like point. they sing in the wind like giant funeral windchimes, whatever that may mean
  24. >Your power to be unnoticed has proven itself very real
  25. >Phssyythhooo! Phsythoo-Phythoo!
  26. >3 spherical ships fly past in the sky above, The Enemy's craft
  27. >They didn't see you, if they did you wouldn't be seeing now
  28. >Simply a pile of indistinguishable goop
  29. >Continuing to go ahead you keep yourself low. there is a small hill
  30. >climbing to the top you peer over it, seeing a small enemy camp of the translucent jellyfish people, they're preparing weapons and grouping up. most likely to rush ahead and strike
  31. >The suns are setting
  32. >There is a brief moment.. where only one of the three remains in the sky and things don't look so back
  33. >You sit down and hide yourself from view and turn back to where you came from, watching the final sun set
  34. >It glows green in the darkening yellow sky. the black stars only shine at day, at night there is nothing but blackness
  35. >>"Grakadune"
  36. >Wallflower freezes and feels a barrel of a weapon of some kind in her shoulder
  37. >>"Grakadune hyul hyul"
  38. >One of the jellyfish people is prodding at her with the rifle
  39. >Fuck, They're going to eat me or something
  40. >You raise your hands in the air in surrender
  41. >The world is becoming ever darker
  42. >"Hyul ferahpe"
  43. >the creature is using his weapon to direct you to camp
  44. >It's behind you prodding you in the back with the gun
  45. >What do you do..
  46. >Either death now or perhaps torture, death now seems preferable..
  47. >You risk it and quick turn around and grab the gun and yank
  48. >It's reflexes seem slow and weak, the weapon slides out of its hand like you took candy from a baby
  49. >Deja vu.. something about a gorilla.. who knows, perhaps another life, it doesn't matter now
  50. >grabbing the weapon you bash the creature over the head with it
  51. >Its jellyfish like humanoid body up close is even more uncanny
  52. >there is some sort of primal terror and disgust you feel looking at it
  53. >You hit again, then again.. and again..
  54. >Its not really bleeding, it's more like tree sap
  55. >You keep hitting it, over and over and over. it's not very loud either.. it's body is squishy like a pillow
  56. >You begin to see why the Cobaltians needed your kind. even you.. so weak and pathetic.. can utterly destroy these things
  57. >The thing is choking on it's own 'sap' and gasping for this sorry excuse for air on this world
  58. "It's a shame you were born when you really think about it"
  59. >The creature doesn't really have eyes, but it seems like it's looking at you still
  60. >You raise your boot and the thing whines one last time
  61. >a wet squishy sound like crushing a pile of grapes is all that's heard
  62. >You peer over the hill one last time and look at the camp, there are lights inside it, but out here it's almost pitch black..
  63. >The 'fireflies' begin to awake, they glow bluish and fly in swarms, enough to light your way back to camp
  64.
  65. >"Wallflower! Glad to you alive and well, it took you longer than expected.. you alright?"
  66. >Captain Sunset sniffs
  67. >"and what's that smell?"
  68. "I crushed one of those jellyfish people with my boot"
  69. >"You fought? in hand to hand?"
  70. "Sort of, they're not strong at all, their weapons appear to be the strongest thing about them.. speaking of.."
  71. >You hand her the weapon
  72. >"It is pretty neat.. weird though.."
  73. >She shrugs
  74. >"You can keep it I guess, what am I supposed to do with it?"
  75. "Bring it to our commanders?.."
  76. >"Wallflower you know they do not care, we're just.. here.. that's it"
  77. >You lower your head
  78. "I know"
  79. >"If we kill some of those guys over there? good. if we die trying? oh well, they'll just get more species to fight for them"
  80. >"Remember a few months back when the enemy were tall slender tree people?"
  81. >It's been so long.. you don't really think about those days
  82. "yeah.."
  83. >You kick at the soil underfoot
  84. >"We're nothing, they're nothing. I got word from Princess Twilight from equestria earlier today"
  85. "The Pony?"
  86. >She laughs
  87. >"Yes, the pony. It turns out the Cobaltians aren't even in charge. they're just like us. abducted. they've just been put in charge of us.. and she things whoever is in charge of them?.. is still not the leader"
  88. "How.. how far does it go up?"
  89. >Sunsets face looks grim
  90. >"We theorize.. it might not stop going up, there may.. "
  91. >She looks off into the distance at a swarm of the blue fireflies
  92. >"There may always be someone higher up, or maybe nobody.. we're fighting on terms beyond our comprehension, for a non-existent cause, against an enemy we don't even know what their goals or motives are"
  93. >"We're not left in the dark because they don't trust us, they don't.. they don't know"
  94. >You feel deeply unsettled
  95. >"This fight isn't like anything we've ever seen. Do you know Twilight and the ponies are fighting it too now? they've been grabbed up.. we cannot even figure out if We're fighting on the same side"
  96. >Sunset grabs at her chest where the book is kept she uses to talk to Twilight
  97. >"We're not even sure if the same Cobaltians have picked us both up. we think so.. but there are inconsistencies.. "
  98. >You sit down and grab Sunsets hand
  99. "Listen, We can't think about any of that. there is a camp of the Jellyfish people just over the ridge and they're pretty weak"
  100. >You tap the stolen rifle
  101. "Lets.. kill um'.."
  102. >Sunset looks up at you with horror, despair and something else you can't pinpoint. than she smiles and grabs her rifle and tightens her belt
  103. >"I will gather the others. go ahead"
  104.
