>Be a young cheery beige and maroon Pegasus mare.
-
4.
>Be on your way to your first day at your new job.
-
5.
>As your wings beat with excitement, you look around at all the ponies below making their way around the suburbs of Fillydelphia.
-
6.
>It was a somewhat quiet suburb, split about half and half between your run of the mill ponies of the day and bat ponies.
-
7.
>It actually made for quite a convenient little town.
-
8.
>Everywhere could effectively and profitably operate 24 hours a day.
-
9.
>It led to a sort of boom in convenience stores of all types.
-
10.
>There were always ponies up at any time of the day, and those ponies often needed something quick to eat or little odd items.
-
11.
>You always enjoyed that no matter how often you were outside your home you could pick up some cheap little convenience.
-
12.
>And your favorite store just so happened to have a name awfully similar to your own.
-
13.
>And it was your exact destination on this first day of your working life!
-
14.
>You are Wah Wah and you’re on your way to the local Wawa across town.
-
15.
>As you land, you see a young mare and stallion go to leave the tidy little convenience store.
-
16.
>Your eyes quickly glance over them, noting how the young mare and stallion practically leaned on each other as they trot to the large glass door.
-
17.
>A quick pang of what you could only call envy bolted through your brain, but you quickly dismissed it as you reached a wing out to open the door for them.
-
18.
>You beamed them a smile as they gave you the same friendly nod and smile
-
19.
>”Thank you miss!”
-
20.
>The mare’s sweet voice both cutting and caressing your ears as one twitched.
-
21.
>You suppress the tangled feelings this simple and honest bit of decency elicited.
-
22.
>As you trot into your new life as a convenience store mare, your brain chastises you, ‘You shouldn’t think like that Wah! You’ve got a new job to do and new coworkers to meet!’
-
23.
>Refocusing yourself you put some pep in your canter as you make your way to the counter where an older mare stood at the register.
-
24.
>The greying mare immediately perked up, seeing such a familiar and bright face always got her in a good mood.
-
25.
>”Oh hello Wah! You’re fifteen minutes early for your first shift. Just couldn’t wait could you?”
-
26.
>You shook your head, beaming a bright smile as your wings fidgeted in equal parts from nerves and excitement.
-
27.
“Yep! I want to give it my all Mrs. Bun!”
-
28.
>The old Earth Pony gave a grandmotherly chuckle.
-
29.
>”I can already tell hiring you was a good decision. Now where’d that colt go?”
-
30.
>She looked around, behind the island register and spotted a rotund stallion restocking some chips.
-
31.
>”Ohhhh Molly~ can you come take the register for me? I’ve got a new coworker to show around!”
-
32.
>With a sigh the large, and by no means young, pony put aside the box of chips and trot over to the register island, reliving the elder mare of her position with a huff.
-
33.
>”Can’t you just call me Molasses granny?”
-
34.
>”Ohhhh don’t be a grump sweet stuff~”
-
35.
>You try to hide your fluttery giggle, but it’s really no use.
-
36.
>The stallion just roles his eyes and adjusts his Wawa branded hat with a hoof as he greeted you.
-
37.
>”Hiyah Wah. Starting your first day huh? You nervous at all?”
-
38.
“Oh no not at all Mr. Molasses!”
-
39.
>Your always chipper voice expertly hiding the truth that deep down you were quite nervous.
-
40.
>”That’s the spirit, filly! I’m sure you’ll do fine.”
-
41.
>You beamed him a smile as Mrs. Bun motioned for you to follow her.
-
42.
>Following the elderly mare your ears stood at attention as she led you through the store towards the back.
-
43.
>It was almost impossible to hear her over your own awe at finally being able to enter the employees only section of the store.
-
44.
>”So Wah dearie, let me introduce you to your other coworkers. Over there is Bubble Gum, she usually works nights, Your shifts overlap by an hour, so you won’t be alone when you start your shifts. Don’t mind if she’s a bit grouchy, it’s the end of her shift.”
-
45.
>Your eyes glance over to see a tired young mare maybe a year or two older than you; she doesn’t look up from her work.
-
46.
>As you were lead further back you feel your pulse rise as you’re led through the employees only door.
-
47.
>As you reach the back of the store Mrs. Bun shows you to the break room first.
-
48.
>A small room with a table and a few chairs.
-
49.
>Sat in one of the chairs eating her breakfast was a mare maybe five years Wah’s senior.
-
50.
>She quickly swallowed her muffin and held out a hoof, making her own introduction before Mrs. Bun could.
-
51.
>”Hello there I’m Canned Carrots, but please, just call me Carrot.”
-
52.
>You took the orange mare’s hoof and gave it an excited shake.
-
53.
“Nice to meet you Carrot! I’m Wah Wah!”
-
54.
>She giggled and shook her head.
-
55.
>”I still can’t believe that’s your name. When manager Bun told us I thought it had to be a joke.”
-
56.
>You just shook your head.
-
57.
“Nope! Not a joke. My Mom named me that because she said that’s all I do, go ‘Wah Wah Wah’”.
-
58.
>You tried to sound bubbly; however, this mare was perceptive, but graceful, merely giving you a strange look before continuing on.
-
59.
>”Huh, anyway if you need anything I can tell you what’s what here if Mrs. Bun or Mr. Wheat aren’t around.”
-
60.
>She looked over to the elder mare, chipping up.
-
61.
>”Why don’t you introduce Miss Wah to the GM huh? I’m sure he’d like to meet a pony so excited to work here.”
-
62.
>”Oh that’s the next stop dear! Here, lets go meet him right now. I promise he doesn’t bite.”
-
63.
>You blinked a bit, now even more nervous. What the feather was that supposed to mean?
-
64.
>But you didn’t have a choice.
-
65.
>You waved goodbye to your new coworker and followed Mrs. Bun to your next, and last stop.
-
66.
>Really it was just three hoof steps down the hall, the manager’s office.
-
67.
>Inside a middle-aged stallion sat on his flanks, pen in mouth and adding machine at his side.
-
68.
>He didn’t notice at first, too lost in his paperwork to see the ponies in his doorway.
-
69.
>A gentle “ahem” from your tour guide caused him to look over.
-
70.
>A sudden energy overtook the stallion as he spit out the pen, stood up, and made his manager’s uniform proper before holding his hoof out to you.
-
71.
>You hesitated to take it, not only because he was your new boss… but this was the first stallion’s hoof you’d touched in… you don’t even know how long.
-
72.
>And buck he was handsome too.
-
73.
>He’s got to have a herd of like three or four mares!
-
74.
>The hesitation only lasted a second but it felt unmistakable to you as you grabbed his hoof.
-
75.
>He shook with authority and well-mannered grace.
-
76.
>Oh feathers, don’t get flustered!
-
77.
>”I’m general manager Buck Wheat. I’ve been looking forward to meeting you Miss Wah Wah.”
-
78.
“Y-you have?”
-
79.
>Your voice cracked a little as your wings flustered at your sides from the nerves.
-
80.
>”Yep, with a name like yours I figure you’ll be a perfect new recruit to our team! And by Celestia I’m already impressed, your mane and coat are our corporate colors! And what’s that goose cutiemark of yours?”
-
81.
>Oh FEATHERS! He already looked at your tiny stupid rump?
-
82.
>You did your best to keep your tone high energy and chipper as you turned to show off the flying goose on your rear.
-
83.
“Yes sir! I got it while I was out flying with a bunch of birds a few years ago. I was trying to fly in formation with them and then it just appeared. I think it means I’m really good at following orders.”
-
84.
>He nodded at your explanation, his eyes only glancing at your flank and nowhere else momentarily, otherwise maintaining eye contact with you.
-
85.
>”Well then, I think you’ll do great here. But, you know there’s always a leader for every flock.
-
86.
>He gave you a wink that set your heart a flutter and an insuppressible blush across your face.
-
87.
>W-what the flying feather was that supposed to mean? Was he hitting on you? No dummy, stupid! He’s your boss. Boss ponies aren’t supposed to do that.
-
88.
“Y-yes sir! Right sir!”
-
89.
>He gave a little chuckle as his tone became more corporate.
-
90.
>”At ease, no need to over think it. Welcome aboard. We run a tight ship here, but we’re all partners in this. I’ve heard plenty of stores from my shift manager Mrs. Bun about how you come in all the time. So, I’m sure you’re familiar with the store. We’ll have you start training on the sandwich counter with Carrot and Bubblegum. But in your down time I expect you to help wherever you can. As long as you always give it one hundred percent you’ll always be rewarded. That’s my promise to you Miss. Wah.”
-
91.
>He shot you a subdued smile and nod that you returned in kind.
-
92.
“Yes sir! Mr. Wheat sir!”
-
93.
>You did your best attempt at a salute, standing at attention for your new Big Boss.
-
94.
>He just gave you a boisterous snort and a happy little shake of the head.
-
95.
“No need for all that, just call me Mr. Wheat.”
-
96.
>You felt your self visibly relax as your nerves settled themselves.
-
97.
>While your mind still reeled from the interaction, your new general manager turned to Mrs. Bun.
-
98.
>”Well, Mrs. Apple Buns, lets keep things rolling. How about you go get Bubblegum to show Miss. Wah how the sandwich station works.
-
99.
>”Aye aye captain!”
-
100.
>Mrs. Bun gave a playful little salute to her boss and motioned for you to follow.
-
101.
>Again, trying to keep your mind clear you trot along into your new life as a working mare.
-
102.
>Be a permanently tired young bat mare.
-
103.
>Night was right around the corner, but you were always up a bit early.
-
104.
>You always tried to get out of your parent’s house before any pony else woke up
-
105.
>While you were an avid enjoyer of Luna’s blessed night, you’d come to enjoy seeing Celestia’s sun set.
-
106.
>Some bits jingled in your saddlebag as you flew.
-
107.
>Not much, but it was a combination of what your parents gave you and some bits you made helping ponies around town with stuff.
-
108.
>Nothing really, just moving stuff or helping pick some fruit by moonlight.
-
109.
>You particularly like the harvesting jobs because it always meant a free meal.
-
110.
>But they’d finished the peach harvest and apples were still a month away.
-
111.
>Still, anything to get you out of your parent’s house was a plus.
-
112.
>Not like they wanted you there anyway…
-
113.
>Five bits a day to keep you away so your dad could enjoy his little two-mare-herd without his eldest daughter trotting in on him and your moms mid rut.
-
114.
>It wasn’t a bad deal if it wasn’t so gross to you.
-
115.
>It almost caused you to retch if you also didn’t happen to feel a weird sort of jealousy.
-
116.
>You needed friends or a herd of your own.
-
117.
>But being alone was so much more peaceful.
-
118.
>But being part of a herd would be even better!
-
119.
>Too bad you’re just some dumb, poor, barely-older-than-a-filly-mare.
-
120.
>Bucking stupid mind, get off that gross subject and focus on what’s important.
-
121.
>An evening breakfast!
-
122.
>And since you had some extra bits, why not splurge at the Wawa?
-
123.
>You are Swing Shift a young and useless bat pony in a town that seemed to be brimming with ponies insulting you with their mere existence.
-
124.
>As you land in front of the well-lit convenience store you go to open the door only for a unicorn stallion to do it for you.
-
125.
>His smile makes you want to buck him, but you bite your tongue and squeak out a little.
-
126.
“Thank you”
-
127.
>He probably didn’t hear, but he nodded and let you enter before leaving himself.
-
128.
>Probably off to rut some mare or something stupid like that.
-
129.
>You wish you were that mare…
-
130.
>’Buck my mind.’ You think to yourself
-
131.
>As you peruse the store you go up to the sandwich counter and see an orange mare behind the little glass sanitary screen.
-
132.
>She gives you a smile and asks.
-
133.
>”What can we make for you?”
-
134.
“I’ll have an ughhhhh… mango and sharp cheddar hoagie with arugula and lemon-orange sauce.”
-
135.
>As you spoke the mare wrote your order down on a notepad, then tore off the bottom and hoofed it over the glass screen to you.
-
136.
>”Your number is seven seventy seven. Hah must be lucky!”
-
137.
>You just take the slip, nodding but snorting.
-
138.
>You didn’t feel all that lucky, but whatever you sun loving orange mare.
-
139.
>As you trot away you saw her moving out of sight into a little room at the end of the sandwich counter.
-
140.
>You didn’t pay her any more mind as you trot over to the wall of juices to choose from.
-
141.
>Wow they had a lot to choose from.
-
142.
>Like ten different mango mixes, berry juices you’d never heard of, and every kind of apple mix that could be made.
-
143.
>It took you way too long to just pick out a basic apple juice.
-
144.
>Without looking you turned around and
-
145.
>Oof!
-
146.
>You reeled as you nearly fell on your rump.
-
147.
>Looking forward you saw a worried middle-aged stallion.
-
148.
>It had felt like you’d run right into a mountain.
-
149.
>”Sorry miss, are you alright?”
-
150.
>Your mind went blank as you looked up to the taller stallion.
-
151.
>Your leathery wings rustled as your mind went blank, but your eyes drifted upwards.
-
152.
>He was sturdy, sharply dressed, and without a doubt the stallion of a herd.
-
153.
>Oh buck he was starting to look at you weird! Quick say something!
-
154.
“U-ughh eeee thank you.”
-
155.
>WHAT THE BUCK WAS THAT!?
-
156.
>”Huh?”
-
157.
>You quickly trot away towards the cash register, only blurting out a feeble.
-
158.
“Yeah! No problem!”
-
159.
>You couldn’t bear to look back, but you could feel his gaze on you.
-
160.
>He better not be looking at your flanks! Perv!
-
161.
>As you composed yourself at the cash register, you snuck a glance back to him.
-
162.
>But all he was doing was reorganizing the juices and inspecting them.
-
163.
>Wait, was that a manager’s uniform he’s wearing?
-
164.
>You’re interrupted by a gentle and kind voice, causing your brain to refocus on the here and now.
-
165.
>”Hello dearie, is that all for you this evening?”
-
166.
>You turn to notice an older mare with a genuinely caring smile on her lips looking to you.
-
167.
“O-oh yeah, no I mean, can you ughhh throw in one of those super-pony energy drinks?”
-
168.
>The older mare just went to grab one of the little bottles of concentrated caffeine and sugar from behind the counter and punched in a number to her register.
-
169.
>”Getting your night started with a kick huh?”
-
170.
>Her sweetness made you feel like you were already having a sugar crash.
-
171.
“Yeah I guess. I just, you know, like the flavor.”
-
172.
>As she punched in the prices for the rest of your stuff she continued with the small talk.
-
173.
>”Oh I could never do that stuff myself. Have you ever tried coffee?”
-
174.
“Isn’t that stuff bitter as Tartarus?”
-
175.
>”Yeah, but I like the taste. You should try it sometime. It’s cheaper than the super-pony drinks and any size is only a bit here~”
-
176.
>Of course, she was trying to sell you something more… but hey, at least she was pretty nice for an old coot.
-
177.
>”That’ll be eight bits miss.”
-
178.
>Reaching into your small saddle bag you fish out a five-bit coin and three one-bit coins and deposit them on the counter.
-
179.
>”Perfect! And I think your sandwich is ready too.”
-
180.
>As she hoofed you your slip, now stamped “paid”, you couldn’t help but crack a little smile at the sweet, old mare.
-
181.
>Turning your attention to the sandwich counter, your eyes widened as you spotted some pony unexpected.
-
182.
>That wasn’t the weird carrot colored mare wrapping your hoagie.
-
183.
>No it was a young pegasus with colors awfully similar to the store you were in.
-
184.
>She was deep in concentration rolling your hoagie in their signature paper, making sure it was just perfect.
-
185.
>Her mane was tied into a messy bun; her fur was also messed up.
-
186.
>There were some sauce stains on her forelegs and one across her freckled cheek.
-
187.
>She was kind of small, thin, and the way she wore her little Wawa visor made her mane poke through over her eyes just a bit.
-
188.
>She’s really pretty.
-
189.
>Buck were you staring?
-
190.
>You avert your eyes for just a moment, she hadn’t seen you yet.
-
191.
>But your attention was drawn back to her as she hesitantly called out.
-
192.
>”Order seven-seven-seven?”
-
193.
>Bucking buck, don’t think, just go, get your stupid hoagie and don’t think about how bucking lonely your night was about to get.
-
194.
>Gingerly you trot over.
-
195.
>She was watching you with wide, golden eyes.
-
196.
>As you got there you hesitated again, but pushed your paid slip towards her and meekly blurted out while looking down at the counter.
-
197.
“Yeah, order with all the sevens.”
-
198.
>You waited a moment, but there wasn’t a response.
-
199.
>Okay what the buck?
-
200.
>After another moment without a response you had to look up, and when you did your heart skipped a beat.
-
201.
>She was staring at you, like staring staring.
-
202.
>Then she looked away quickly and cleared her throat, pushing the perfectly wrapped hoagie towards you.
-
203.
>Instinctually you reached out, and… buck!
-
204.
>Your hoof grazed hers as you grabbed your breakfast.
-
205.
>Your coat stood on end as you quickly pulled back with your food.
-
206.
>She did the same, then looked away before making the chirpiest sound you’d ever heard from a pony.
-
207.
>”Sorry! H-hope you like the sandwich!”
-
208.
>You pushed out a weak
-
209.
“You too.”
-
210.
>Oh what the buck! Again, stupid bucking brain!
-
211.
>Before you could face your shame you left the store as quickly as you could.
-
212.
>But once you were outside you had to look back through the windows of the store.
-
213.
>She was still there at the counter… looking right back at you.
-
214.
>She smiled, you blinked.
-
215.
>Then she waved and you nodded before you turned and let your fidgety wings carry you into the twilight sky.
-
216.
>After a short flight to the local park, you found yourself seated on a park bench, still thinking about what just happened.
-
217.
>You hadn’t even touched your perfectly wrapped hoagie.
-
218.
>Instead, you were just going over all the stupid little interactions that just happened.
-
219.
>It wasn’t like you at all to be so flustered just trying to go about your day.
-
220.
>But as you thought you couldn’t help but notice two bat mares following a stallion, a filly behind them trying to keep up.
-
221.
>Again, a retching sensation wormed itself into the back of your mind as you turned your attention back to the wrapped sandwich.
-
222.
>You wished you didn’t have to have all these feelings all of a sudden.
-
223.
>You wished you hadn’t pushed everypony away all the time back in school.
-
224.
>You rolled the sandwich over and used a wingtip to rip the tape holding the wrapping.
-
225.
>As you unrolled it, you were greeted by a perfectly presented mango and cheddar sandwich.
-
226.
>Brimming with arugula and glistening with a few drips of orange-lemon sauce leaking from the side.
-
227.
>It reminded you of how that cute mare smiled at you.
-
228.
>Even if she looked tired and kind of disheveled after what had to have been a long day, she put so much care into this simple thing.
-
229.
>Buck why did you have to stare at her like a wierdo pony.
-
230.
>You put it to the back of your mind as you took a bite.
-
231.
>Oh my Luna!
-
232.
>It was good, like really bucking good!
-
233.
>She put on extra mango and cheese; no doubt they wouldn’t want her to use three slices of each.
-
234.
>And there was just the right bit of sauce and plenty of arugula.
-
235.
>Each bite was a refreshing bit of bliss in this otherwise lonely feeling night.
-
236.
>Before you knew it, you’d eaten the whole thing.
-
237.
>Leaning back, you crumpled up the paper wrap and tossed it to the side, close enough to a trash bin.
-
238.
“Buuuck that was good.”
-
239.
>With the fleeting satisfaction of a bit of corporatized sandwich work made with genuine care beginning to wane, you remembered your other little splurge.
-
240.
>With a twist of the wing, you popped open you little super-pony shot and downed it.
-
241.
>Oh yeah, that’ll get your night going!
-
242.
>Now what in Luna’s ever-loving night were you going to do?
-
243.
>Your ear twitches as you overhear a bit of giddy rambling from another couple trotting on the trail by you.
-
244.
>Way for life to punch you down right after you were feeling a bit better.
-
245.
>But… well maybe you shouldn’t be so down.
-
246.
>As the rush of caffeine and mystery chemicals you couldn’t hope to pronounce surged through your veins, you felt a sort of confidence.
-
247.
>You needed some friends, and besides this stupid town had plenty of other places to get a snack.
-
248.
>Yeah, no, just don’t think about it!
-
249.
>Just fly back to the store and see what she’s up to.
-
250.
>Be Wah Wah.
-
251.
>Be tiredly trotting out from your new job.
-
252.
>It had been a long day, longer than you thought a day could be.
-
253.
>A full nine hours had passed and Celestia’s sun was already set.
-
254.
>But that didn’t get you down at all.
-
255.
>In fact you were quite happy!
-
256.
>You had learned so much from your coworkers and met so many new ponies.
-
257.
>Sure, there was that awkward moment maybe forty minutes ago with that cute bat pony.
-
258.
>Really though, it wasn’t that bad, you even got to wave to her (and maybe glance at her flank, even though you really shouldn’t have).
-
259.
>You internally bucked yourself for being so rude to a customer, even if she probably didn’t notice.
-
260.
>The cool night air rustled your mane as you looked back over your wing to see your night-shift coworkers settling in.
-
261.
>All bat ponies, all kinda older than you.
-
262.
>While you secretly had a thing for their kind, none of them had the same look to them like that mare earlier.
-
263.
>You hesitated for longer than you should of as you stood just outside the door.
-
264.
>Did you really have to go home just yet?
-
265.
>You hemmed and hawed on your hooves as you really didn’t feel like going home quite yet.
-
266.
>You sort of wished you could work for longer, but it took convincing to let you stay a full nine hours your first day anyway.
-
267.
>You were always such a good talker, especially how you convinced Mr. Wheat to let you work so long!
-
268.
>Bet he appreciated that huh!
-
269.
>You smiled to yourself as you readjusted your saddlebag, still just delaying that flight back to your parent’s house.
-
270.
>You were about to let out a sigh when a familiar voice caught your ear.
-
271.
>”Hey, you!”
-
272.
>You turned your head back towards the street to see that bat mare from earlier touching down maybe a few paces from you.
-
273.
>Your voice caught in your throat as you felt like Luna herself was granting your wish to stay out a little longer.
-
274.
“Hiyah! Was ughhh something wrong with your sandwich?”
-
275.
>The young mare immediately shook her head, voluminous mane going every which way.
-
276.
>When she spoke, you got a sense of energy from her.
-
277.
>”No, nuhuh. I wanted to actually say it was really good. Like really, really good!”
-
278.
>You could feel yourself getting flustered from the compliment, wings rustling as you beamed a smile.
-
279.
“Oh thank you! I always try my best.”
-
280.
>She took a bold hoofstep forward, you felt your wings rustle again as you held both your ground and smile.
-
281.
>”Come on, I’ve got that sandwich before, they never put extra on like that.”
-
282.
>It’s true, there’s portion guides for every type of sandwich posted behind the counter for you to follow.
-
283.
>Mrs. Bun was sure to talk you through each of the portion guides.
-
284.
>And to remind you that Mr. Wheat expected everypony to follow them.
-
285.
>But nopony was watching when you got to make her sandwich.
-
286.
>Your eyes quickly darted to the side, but then went back to meet her ruby red eyes.
-
287.
>No point in lying to her Wah.
-
288.
“Yeah, no, I mean I did put extra on yours. I dunno, I just thought it would be a nice thing to do and like you looked like you could use it. Oh but not like that! I just ughhh mean… ummm.”
-
289.
>You trailed off as you could see her smiling, a little snort from her snoot as she held her head to the side.
-
290.
>”You don’t gotta go explaining yourself like that. Say you just get off?”
-
291.
“Oh yeah! Today was my first day actually. Just worked a whole nine hours!”
-
292.
>Your voice chipper as ever, happy that she changed the subject for you.
-
293.
>The bat gave a little whistle, but you could see her hoof fidget some.
-
294.
>”Luna wow, that’s a long time to be making sandwiches.”
-
295.
“Yeah actually I didn’t realize time could take that long heh”
-
296.
>Your little laugh is forced. Nine hours was pretty long and tiring, but you enjoy the moment getting to chat with this pretty mare.
-
297.
>”Say ughhh hey,”
-
298.
>The bat mare seemed to choke on her word as you looked at her with renewed curiosity.
-
299.
>She visibly gulped before clearing her throat.
-
300.
>”You doing anything tonight? I mean like I dunno, wanna hang out? I know some cool spots around town.”
-
301.
“Yeah absolutely!”
-
302.
>You chirped before your brain even caught up to what you’d just said.
-
303.
>The maroon maned mare before you looked a bit shocked at just how quickly you agreed to hang out with her.
-
304.
>”O-oh yeah cool! My name’s Swing Shift by the way. What’s yours?”
-
305.
“Mine’s Wah Wah!”
-
306.
>”Like the store?”
-
307.
>She gave you a confused snoot scrunch, tilting her head the other way.
-
308.
>Feathers! That’s cute.
-
309.
>Feeling a heat at your cheeks, your eyes darted to her hooves.
-
310.
“Yeah, but no. My parents gave it to me way before these places even existed.”
-
311.
>You could feel her eyes looking across you as you rose your head again, you could have swore she was catching a glance at your flank, but her eyes were quick to meet yours then dart to the side.
-
312.
>”You sure about that? You look like you could be their mascot or something.”
-
313.
“You really think so!?”
-
314.
>You enthusiastically beam, sparkles practically dancing in your eyes.
-
315.
>She’s taken aback, but seems otherwise unfazed.
-
316.
>”I mean, yeah heh. Like you could totally be a Wawa mascot with your mane and coat colors. It really suites you.”
-
317.
“Thank you! I actually really wanted to work here since I was a filly. I’ve always liked their food and I still remember when the first one opened in our town. I just had to go and my mom was like noooo and I was like pleeease and she was still like no. Then I had to ask my Dad for like a month to take me. And oh mare, did it take some convincing, but ummm oh…”
-
318.
>You caught yourself beginning to blabber, letting your voice trail off.
-
319.
>But Swing Shift was still smiling, ears attentive.
-
320.
>You shifted your gaze and made a throaty little sound before continuing.
-
321.
“Thanks, yeah, sorry.”
-
322.
>”Ahhh don’t be, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pony so excited to work for a convenience store. I’d probably go insane if I had to make sandwiches all day.”
-
323.
“Well I do more than just make sandwiches. I also stocked shelves and cleaned a bunch of the cooking equipment.”
-
324.
>She just gave you a flat stare, one eyebrow raised.
-
325.
“Well ummm maybe I could see how that isn’t everypony’s cup of tea.”
-
326.
>She just gave a little laugh that set your heart aflutter before motioning with a wave of her hoof.
-
327.
>”Wanna fly to the park? I know this cool place by the pond where we can watch all the other ponies when they’re out trotting.”
-
328.
“Oh yeah! I love pony watching, but not like that! You know.”
-
329.
>You viciously nod your head and follow her lead, making sure to fly at her side as you both take to the sky.
-
330.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
331.
>It’s an hour later and you’re still sitting next to the pond in the center of the town park.
-
332.
>It was hard for you to see too far, but there were plenty of lamps that kept the trail lit.
-
333.
>You and your new friend Swing Shift, or just Swing as she liked being called, were having a blast watching the ponies out on their early night trots.
-
334.
>”Oh oh look at that old stallion!”
-
335.
>She was eagerly pointing to some practically ancient bat pony stallion ambling down the path well out of earshot.
-
336.
“Looks like a sweet old grandpa bat to me.”
-
337.
>”Whaaaat no. I bet he’s an old miser who’s sitting on a hoard of dried fruits.”
-
338.
“Oh, maybe that’s why he looks so sweet! He’s just like always eating everypony else’s fruits or hoarding them to dry them out for himself.”
-
339.
>”Yeah I bet!”
-
340.
“Can bat ponies suck the juice out of fruit with their fangs?”
-
341.
>Swing laughed, and looked over to you shaking her head.
-
342.
>”What no? Why’d you think that?”
-
343.
>You twirled a bit of your mane with a hoof tip, suddenly feeling dumb.
-
344.
“I guess I read a bunch of stories about vampire ponies and how they suck blood and you all have fangs too soooo.”
-
345.
>”These?”
-
346.
>She opened her mouth to show you her two fangs.
-
347.
>You’d never really seen bat pony fangs up close before.
-
348.
>For some reason you expected them to be bigger.
-
349.
>”These are for scraping the rind off fruits or helping us tear into tougher fruits. They don’t suck.”
-
350.
“Huh. They’re still pretty cool.”
-
351.
>”You think?”
-
352.
“Yeah! I do! They’re so pointy and not like anything us ughhh not-bat-ponies have. All we got are these boring flat teeth and I mean yeah they can still bite into stuff kind of, but we gotta cut up our fruits and stuff if we want to eat em.”
-
353.
>She nodded as she seemed to suck on her lip in thought.
-
354.
>”Yeah but I bet it doesn’t suck nearly as much when you bit your tongue or lip.”
-
355.
“I don’t think it’d be that bad.”
-
356.
>You suddenly felt a playful hoof hit your shoulder as you heard that cute batty laugh.
-
357.
>”Wah you read way too much vampire pony stuff haven’t you?”
-
358.
>Sheepishly you look away.
-
359.
“Maybe I liked to read a lot back in school and those were just what interested me.”
-
360.
>”Vampire pony stories? You know those were all written by old ponies who never interacted with bat ponies right?”
-
361.
“Well yeah, I know that, but I always liked reading them anyways. Like they always seemed so cool how they were written. Like all mysterious and misunderstood. At least the ones where the vampire pony wasn’t the villain. But even in the ones where they were the villains they were always portrayed so cool! Long flowing capes, sharp fangs, only ever coming out at night when everypony else is asleep. Some even would say how Luna, or really Nightmare Moon, herself made the vampire ponies to haunt the day ponies for spiting her night.”
-
362.
>”Well I guess when you put it like that, we kinda are cool. At least compared to boring Earth Ponies.”
-
363.
“Yeah! You have sleek leather wings and little grabby hooks and fangs and I mean look at how cool your eyes are. You can even see in the dark!”
-
364.
>Now it was Swing’s turn to look away, a bit embarrassed.
-
365.
>But she still spoke in cadence with the conversation.
-
366.
>”Yeah I guess we are kinda cool. But we can’t actually see in absolute darkness, that’s just a myth. It’s just like maybe a bit better than other ponies.”
-
367.
“Still really cool!”
-
368.
>”Yeah, just imagine how much it would suck to be an Earth Pony.”
-
369.
“Oh I don’t know. They’re really strong and are usually good with their hooves.”
-
370.
>”You really see the best in everypony don’t you Wah?”
-
371.
>You shrug looking off into the distance.
-
372.
“Not really, I just don’t like putting anypony down is all.”
-
373.
>”You’re a really good pony”.
-
374.
>You look over to your new friend and find her looking back at you.
-
375.
>There was a genuine admiration in her eyes.
-
376.
>She moved closer to you.
-
377.
>You froze.
-
378.
>Her hoof met yours, holding it.
-
379.
>You could feel your heart pick up.
-
380.
>She didn’t move any more.
-
381.
>Your heart beat slowed a bit.
-
382.
>She turned her head, looking out over the moonlit pond.
-
383.
>You did the same.
-
384.
>Another hour passed as your sat together and gabbed.
-
385.
>As the time passed your hoof never left Swings, and nor did she move hers.
-
386.
>But you were a pony of the day, and she was a pony of the night.
-
387.
>At a certain point you couldn’t contain your yawns anymore.
-
388.
>You hated the idea of leaving this perfect moment, but it was Swing who spoke up first.
-
389.
>”So when do you work again?”
-
390.
“Tomorrow actually. Same shift. They were really short staffed for the day crew when they hired me so they gave me a spot every day. I could probably get them to let me stay nine hours every day if I just ask Mr. Wheat.”
-
391.
>”Want to hang out again tomorrow? I usually wake up not too much earlier.”
-
392.
“Really?”
-
393.
>You didn’t do a good job of hiding your surprise and excitement.
-
394.
>”Yeah of course Wah.”
-
395.
>Swing was the first to stand up, breaking your little hoof hold.
-
396.
>Your hoof felt warm, clammy, and kind of tingly.
-
397.
>You stood after her.
-
398.
>For a moment you both just stood awkwardly looking to the side of one another.
-
399.
>Again, Swing was the first to talk.
-
400.
>”Anyways your folks got to be worried about you right? They probably expected you home hours ago.”
-
401.
>Your wing fidgeted, you spoke in a softer voice.
-
402.
“Yeah, I should probably go home.”
-
403.
>Before you knew it you felt a hoof and a warm wing wrap around you in a hug.
-
404.
>Fighting off the instinct to freeze, you return the hoof and wing hug.
-
405.
>”Heh pegasai wings are softer than I expected.”
-
406.
>Okay now that caused you to blush.
-
407.
“Well ughhh we’ve got lots of down and stuff too that make us softer than other types of ponies.”
-
408.
>”Yeah I bet.”
-
409.
>Another awkward silence.
-
410.
>”Anyway same time tomorrow?”
-
411.
“Yeah definitely! I’ll bring a blanket too so we don’t have to sit on the grass all night too.”
-
412.
>”So ughh see you tomorrow Wah!”
-
413.
“Yeah! See you then Swing!”
-
414.
>With that you reluctantly unfurl your wings and take to the sky.
-
415.
>As you depart you wave to Swing who waves back to you.
-
416.
>In your heart you feel a new lightness and joy at having found such a good new friend.
-
417.
>Though fifteen minutes later as you arrive home that feeling of cloud nine all but evaporated as you pushed through the door.
-
418.
>You could hear your two moms chatting, your Dad was probably asleep.
-
419.
>”Ohhh look who’s finally back.”
-
420.
>Meekly you wave.
-
421.
“Hi Spice, Hi Peaches.”
-
422.
>Your ears are met with faux concern as your two moms didn’t even bother leaving the couch to chastise you.
-
423.
>”You had us worried just sick. Your Dad almost couldn’t finish he was so wracked with guilt.”
-
424.
>You wretch a little as you throw off your saddle bags.
-
425.
>”But don’t worry dearie he’s sleeping well and good now, no thanks to you.”
-
426.
>You wished you could get away from them, but you had to go through the living room to get to your own room.
-
427.
>It smelled like pizza, sex, and booze in here.
-
428.
>As you braced yourself to make a break for your room, you were caught off guard.
-
429.
>”How was your first day of work huh Wah?”
-
430.
>”Yeah you said you’d be back two hours ago. Like it so much you couldn’t leave?”
-
431.
>Entering the other room, you try to keep up your cheer.
-
432.
“It was really good actually! I learned a lot and my coworkers are really nice and I met a new friend after work too.”
-
433.
>”Oooohhhhhh a new friend, hear that?”
-
434.
>”Somepony willing to listen to your wah wah wahing huh?”
-
435.
>Your ears folded as you looked away from the mare’s you were forced to live with.
-
436.
“She was really nice. We went to the park and talked for a few hours.”
-
437.
>”Don’t you mean you talked for a few hours.”
-
438.
>”Poor pony must have been bored to death after the first hour, but just couldn’t get away from your blabbering.”
-
439.
“N-no! She was really nice and I let her speak lots too! She also listened and didn’t look bored or anything. We played pony spotting games and talked about work and life and stuff and she – she – she…”
-
440.
>You trailed off as you could feel yourself fuming.
-
441.
>You mom’s just looked to each other and laughed.
-
442.
>”Oh wah wah wah, honey, you need to learn to shut up more.”
-
443.
>”Yeah I’m sure you’re new friend would appreciate it. I know I would!”
-
444.
>You puffed your cheeks in anger as you could feel tears welling in your eyes.
-
445.
>Stomping your hoof you couldn’t take it anymore.
-
446.
>In a dash you flew to your room, away from their judging.
-
447.
>As you buried your head in your pillow you wanted to scream.
-
448.
>But you didn’t want to wake Dad.
-
449.
>As you tried to sleep you couldn’t help but think about how sweet Swing was.
-
450.
>But what if your moms were right?
-
451.
>What if you were actually annoying her the whole time?
-
452.
>Your mind tried to replay the whole night, how much did you talk? How much did she talk?
-
453.
>Were you being fair to her?
-
454.
>Was she actually enjoying the time?
-
455.
>Of course she was! She was the one who wanted to see her again after all.
-
456.
>Of course, she enjoyed your company.
-
457.
>She even called you a good pony!
-
458.
>Your moms were just trying to be mean to you.
-
459.
>But still what if she actually didn’t like how much you spoke?
-
460.
>You continued this cycle for as long as it took you to drift to sleep.
-
461.
>You dreamt of holding Swings hoof again.
-
462.
>Be Swing Shift.
-
463.
>Last evening had been absolutely magical!
-
464.
>You flew around town a good five or six times just thinking about how you managed to not totally buck things up.
-
465.
>Really you had a lot of your caffeine high to burn off.
-
466.
>But buck you if those super pony energy shots didn’t make you a different mare.
-
467.
>But now you were feeling all sorts of tired all over again.
-
468.
>That and a fair bit nervous.
-
469.
>The sun had just set as you landed in front of the local Wawa.
-
470.
>You noticed a few bat ponies also arriving too, though they were wearing the signature visors and little aprons all the staff wore.
-
471.
>Guess you got here right on time.
-
472.
>Though as you looked in you didn’t see Wah anywhere.
-
473.
>Well might as well go and see what you can buy with the five bits your parents gave you.
-
474.
>Another super pony energy shot was off the menu tonight.
-
475.
>Just a nice small sandwich and maybe an apple juice again?
-
476.
>Yeah that’ll have to do.
-
477.
>A few minutes later and you’re at the register about to pay, though you still hadn’t seen Wah around at all.
-
478.
>The same grandmotherly mare was working the register again.
-
479.
>You didn’t pay her much mind, instead looking over your shoulder towards the back of the store.
-
480.
>Where was that mare?
-
481.
>”No energy shot tonight dearie?”
-
482.
>Her sudden question brought you back to Equestria.
-
483.
“Oh ugh no. It’s too expensive,”
-
484.
>”Oh really? You know a coffee is the same price as your apple juice and you can drink it with your dinner.”
-
485.
>You scrunch your snoot at the offer, but she’s instant.
-
486.
>”Just a bit for a large too.”
-
487.
“Isn’t it kind of bitter or something?”
-
488.
>”Well that’s only if you don’t use cream or sugar, honey. Me myself, I like my coffee like I like my stallions.”
-
489.
>You blink as she gives a little giggle and wink.
-
490.
“Ughhhh really sweet and creamy?”
-
491.
>”Oh no dearie, black like the night.”
-
492.
>You choke out an awkward laugh.
-
493.
>What the buck was up with this mare?
-
494.
>”Go on, I promise it’ll be good for you. I’ll be here.”
-
495.
>She gestured to the coffee station.
-
496.
>You just raised an eyebrow, but deep down you felt tired, and you needed the caffeine and confidence boost it’d give you.
-
497.
>A few minutes later you returned with a large coffee held in your wing.
-
498.
>Well it had to be at least a third sugar and cream, but that had to make it good right?
-
499.
>Delighted to see she’d finally convinced you she rung up the coffee and placed your apple juice aside.
-
500.
>”Alright, five bits hun.”
-
501.
>While you fished out the five-bit piece from your saddle bag, you felt a pang of fear.
-
502.
>What if she wasn’t here tonight?
-
503.
>What if you were too straight forward with her last night?
-
504.
>Did you scare her away, and she was just being polite?
-
505.
>Hoofing it over, you sheepishly asked the mare.
-
506.
“Say is Wah Wah here tonight?”
-
507.
>”Oh yeah, she’s just in the back getting her stuff. She told me about your little meeting last night~”
-
508.
>Giving you a wink and a receipt you felt your cheeks flush a crimson that could give your eyes a run for their money.
-
509.
“D-did she?”
-
510.
>A hearty chuckle met your ears.
-
511.
>”Oh yeah, she told me all about you. Too bad she spoke too fast for me to remember most of it. Mare that pony talks quick when she’s excited.”
-
512.
“Heh yeah she does.”
-
513.
>”Cute isn’t she?”
-
514.
>Bucking Luna this mare was just trying to make you squirm, but you still managed to eep out a high pitched reply, even with your eyes staring a hole into the receipt.
-
515.
“Yeah.”
-
516.
>”Oh look, speak of the pony and she’ll show.”
-
517.
>You quickly took a long sip of your coffee before turning your head.
-
518.
>As the dark liquid hit your tongue so did a very subdued, but familiar voice.
-
519.
>”Hi Swing.”
-
520.
>Gulping down the ridiculously sweet half cream half coffee mixture you steel your nerves as you turn to see the cutest mare you could imagine.
-
521.
>Trotting towards you, Wah wore her saddle bag slung over one side along with a folded blanket draped across her back.
-
522.
>Her mane hung messily across one side of her face while her coat looked disheveled in spots.
-
523.
>Like she’d just tried to scrub out some stains.
-
524.
>Your eyes met her’s for just a moment before she glanced down to your hooves.
-
525.
>Luna bucking damn you could feel your cheeks heating up just looking at her.
-
526.
>Or maybe it was the still rather warm coffee-cream mix you were drinking.
-
527.
>You took another sip, but as you did so the mare at the counter chastised you.
-
528.
>”Well aren’t you going to say hello?”
-
529.
>Your ears drooped in embarrassment, but she was right.
-
530.
>Luckily for you, you could feel the beginnings of the much needed caffeine hitting your system.
-
531.
“H-hey Wah. You really nice”
-
532.
>The old mare just smiled, satisfied as both you and Wah stared at each other’s hooves for a moment.
-
533.
>”Thank you, I tried to wash my coat a little before.”
-
534.
>You both managed to meet each other’s eyes.
-
535.
>She smiled, and so did you.
-
536.
>”Now you two go, get out of this boring place. Have fun you two young ponies!”
-
537.
>”Mrs. Bunnnn come on.”
-
538.
>Oh so that’s her name huh.
-
539.
>Wah somehow looked more embarrassed than you in this moment, but she held her gaze towards the old mare.
-
540.
>”Oh what dear? Isn’t it just grand to be young? Now go on, shoo. Don’t leave your friend waiting~”
-
541.
>You could hear as Wah wrestled with her own words, staring and stopping a few times before she let her ears fold down and turned away from the grinning old coot.
-
542.
>”Wanna go to the park again Swing?”
-
543.
>You nodded eagerly, taking another long sip from your caffeinated confidence.
-
544.
“Yeah lets get outta here.”
-
545.
>Leading the way, you left the store, holding the door open for Wah with a wingtip.
-
546.
>As you both took to the night you took another long sip of the coffee before transferring it to a forehoof for flight.
-
547.
>As you flew you didn’t really know what to say, so you let your mouth run on autopilot.
-
548.
”So ugh how was your day Wah?”
-
549.
>”It was pretty good.”
-
550.
>Another sip as you fly, you can feel your energy building by the wing beat.
-
551.
“So who was that pony Mrs. Bun? She seems like a real cooty old mare.”
-
552.
>”Oh she’s just my co-worker. She’s pretty nice.”
-
553.
“Seems kinda nutty if you ask me!”
-
554.
>”Maybe a little.”
-
555.
>You frown a little as you hear Wah giving you shallow answers.
-
556.
“Heh what do you think her home life is like. She’s gotta be part of a herd right?”
-
557.
>”Yeah I think so.”
-
558.
>Again you feel a little panic run through you.
-
559.
>Did you really buck it up with Wah last night?
-
560.
>Is she just going along with you because she’s got nopony else?
-
561.
>Are you just boring.
-
562.
>Why isn’t she talking like she was last night?
-
563.
>Anxiously you take another big swig of coffee.
-
564.
>Your brain starts to pace faster.
-
565.
>The rest of the flight is silent.
-
566.
>Maybe five minutes later you touch down at the same spot as last night.
-
567.
>You feel an aneurism building in your head as you try to sip at your coffee, but find it has run dry.
-
568.
>At least Wah is there still, laying out the blanket a little way up from the pond, beneath a nice tree.
-
569.
>You watch as she sits, then looks to you.
-
570.
>You can see her smiling at you.
-
571.
>You try to give a smile back while you trot over.
-
572.
>Taking a seat next to her on the blanket you hesitate.
-
573.
>Your hoof nearest hers fidgets, but you can’t bring yourself to move it.
-
574.
>All of a sudden you find yourself like cured concrete.
-
575.
>Looking forward while seated next to the mare making your mind go in frantic circles.
-
576.
>”Nice out tonight, isn’t it?”
-
577.
>Her voice is softer than you remembered.
-
578.
>You do your best to match her energy, even with your heart beating like a stampede.
-
579.
“Y-yeah it is.”
-
580.
>Another long moment of silence drags on your mind.
-
581.
>You look over and see her staring out over the moonlit pond.
-
582.
>She looks contemplative.
-
583.
>Your mind can’t stop spiraling.
-
584.
>Was she thinking about how bucking pathetic you were?
-
585.
>Finding the right words to let you down?
-
586.
>You bite your lip, your sharp fang nearly drawing blood.
-
587.
>The pain at least gives your brain a moment’s distraction.
-
588.
>Then Wah’s soft voice meets your ear.
-
589.
>”Do you think I talk too much?”
-
590.
“Huh?”
-
591.
>”Like am I annoying?”
-
592.
>You scrunch your snoot in confusion.
-
593.
“No?”
-
594.
>”But that’s all I do is blabber on, go wah wah wah.”
-
595.
>She had turned to look to you now; you met her eyes in the pale moonlight.
-
596.
>She really looked tired.
-
597.
>You frowned a little, shifting your head.
-
598.
“But that’s not a problem? Wait.”
-
599.
>Her name.
-
600.
“Is this about your name?”
-
601.
>She looked to the side, frowning like you.
-
602.
>”Yeah… Like ever since I can remember I just want to talk and talk and talk. It’s why my parents named me Wah Wah cuz they said I just wouldn’t stop going ‘wah wah wah’ when I was a foal. In school ponies stopped talking to me after a while because I guess they didn’t like how much I talked. When I got my cutie mark my moms said it was because I wouldn’t shut up like a goose. And… sorry, I’m doing it again.”
-
603.
>She turned away, her wings hung limply at her side.
-
604.
>Buck this wasn’t about you at all.
-
605.
>Bucking narcissistic always thinking about yourself, never the other pony.
-
606.
>Luna buck Celestia damn you.
-
607.
>She needs you now.
-
608.
>You scooch over on the blanket and reach a hoof out.
-
609.
>It feels so awkward, what do you even do?
-
610.
>Placing your hoof on her shoulder she startles a bit, but doesn’t move away.
-
611.
“I don’t think you talk too much. It’s nice, means I don’t have to talk so much.”
-
612.
>”Really?”
-
613.
“I mean yeah, it’s nice just getting to listen for a while.”
-
614.
>”My moms said everypony gets tired of it eventually.”
-
615.
“Your moms sound like cunts.”
-
616.
>This got a little giggle from the mare, but she continued to sulk.
-
617.
>”Yeah they are, but they aren’t really wrong. Back in school everypony I used to hang out with drifted away. Whenever I tried to catch up with them it always felt like I just was talking to a wall. And they never asked to hang out again. And I mean, like, I can already see it happening with my coworkers I think. Mrs. Bun is really nice, but I can’t tell if she’s actually listening. And the other mare, Bubblegum, she just, like, I don’t know. I feel like ponies tune me out after a while, and I don’t know how to just not care or not talk.”
-
618.
>She sniffled as she looked down to her hooves.
-
619.
>You tried your best at comforting her, rubbing your hoof on her shoulder and scooting even closer.
-
620.
“I don’t think Mrs. Bun wasn’t listening, I think she’s just old and can’t hear half the time. She said you told her all about me. I think she was trying to listen.”
-
621.
>Another sniff.
-
622.
>”Yeah, you’re probably right. But, do you think I’d annoy you eventually?”
-
623.
>How could you answer that?
-
624.
>You’d only met her yesterday, and she did like to talk.
-
625.
>But she never talked to complain or talk about negative stuff as far as any of your conversations had gone.
-
626.
>She felt like she was a really positive type pony, who only really wanted to talk about stuff that excited her.
-
627.
>Buck you couldn’t take this long to answer her.
-
628.
“I don’t think so, because you seem like a pony who always thinks positive of other ponies.”
-
629.
>Now she was looking at you.
-
630.
>You could see she was crying a little, just enough to make her eyes look even bigger.
-
631.
>You wanted to keep looking into her eyes, but you just couldn’t.
-
632.
>Now it was your turn to look out over the pond.
-
633.
>But as you did so you felt the need to do something to let her know you cared.
-
634.
>Extending a leathery wing, you drape it around her back.
-
635.
>She felt warm.
-
636.
>She tensed for a fraction of a second before subtly leaning into you.
-
637.
>Your heart couldn’t stop pounding, you swallowed the growing lump in your throat.
-
638.
>She sniffled again.
-
639.
>”Thank you for being the only pony who wants to listen to me.”
-
640.
>She leaned against you more.
-
641.
>”I guess, last night after I got home I got really scared I would drive you away. I tried to tell my moms about you, but they just made fun of me… like always. I couldn’t really sleep last night because I was so worried I was going to annoy you and you’d go away. I really don’t want that to happen. Could you, like, if I start getting annoying, could you just tell me? I promise I’ll stop if you tell me to. I just, I don’t want to make you hate me.”
-
642.
“Yeah, I promise I will. Just don’t worry about driving me away. I was kinda worried I’d do that to you actually.”
-
643.
>You could feel her looking over to you, but you didn’t want to meet her eyes.
-
644.
“I’m not usually a nice pony to be around. I’m tired most of the time. I only feel like I have confidence if I’m off my flanks on caffeine. Even now I don’t know if I could talk to you without it. I don’t think anypony really likes me, I don’t really like most ponies either…”
-
645.
>You could feel her body pressing against yours, her flanks pressing into your own.
-
646.
>But worse you could feel her just staring at you while you shared your own insecurities.
-
647.
>”Well I like you. I think you’re a really nice pony in fact because you don’t mind if I blab on about whatever and stuff. Last night you made me laugh a lot and made me feel better than I had in I don’t even know how long. To me that makes you somepony I want to be around”
-
648.
>You let out a sigh and muster the courage to meet her eyes again, she was smiling this time, but still the tell-tale streaks of tears dampened the fur of her cheeks.
-
649.
“Yeah, I guess it was pretty nice last night. My parents don’t make me feel all that wanted either really. They give me five bits and tell me to get lost every evening.”
-
650.
>”That’s terrible. I’m sorry they’re like that to you Swing. Do they do anything mean to you too?”
-
651.
>You shake your head, but frown, looking at your forehoof.
-
652.
“They just don’t really give a buck about me. Ever since I was a filly, I have just sort of been around. I have five younger siblings too. They’re nice and all, but my parents do the same to them too, just sort of ignore them if they can or push em out of the house.”
-
653.
>”That’s terrible! Don’t you spend time with your siblings at all? S-sorry I didn’t mean it like that. You know, like hang out with them or stuff if your parents are always pushing you out of the house? What are they even doing?”
-
654.
>You felt a little pain in your heart at Wah’s unintentional poke, but she was right.
-
655.
“When I was younger, but I guess I grew out of hanging with them, or maybe they grew out of wanting to spend their time with a big sister who, honestly, didn’t want to be around them. My family is all kinds of bucked up, and being around anypony else just feels better. Like I’m not reminded of how much my parents would rather be rutting eachother than spending any time making a warm family.”
-
656.
>”Mine too…”
-
657.
>You fidgeted your wing; she rested her head against your shoulder.
-
658.
“I’m sorry your folks are such jerks.”
-
659.
>”They aren’t all bad. It was my mom’s idea that I get a job at the Wawa. I really like it too. They said it would give me my own bits and well and some other stuff about getting out of their manes.”
-
660.
“Wah, they still sound like cunts.”
-
661.
>You could feel her heavy sigh, even a bit of her breath on the fur of your cheek.
-
662.
>You shivered, wing fidgeting again.
-
663.
>”You’re right, but I just don’t want to think of ponies like that. I want to think they can be good, even if they act like total jerks.”
-
664.
“That’s why I said you were a good pony last night.”
-
665.
>You felt her shift again, her hoof reaching over you your own, holding it in hers.
-
666.
>You looked to her, a bit surprised.
-
667.
>Her eyes looked less bleary, and she was still wearing that same smile.
-
668.
>In the moonlight her golden eyes practically sparkled.
-
669.
>She looked so beautiful to you.
-
670.
>Something inside you compelled you.
-
671.
>You moved forward and pressed your lips to hers.
-
672.
>She didn’t back away.
-
673.
>You held the simple kiss for maybe a moment or two before you broke it as quick as you’d started it.
-
674.
>”That was really nice.”
-
675.
“Y-yeah it was.”
-
676.
>”I’ve never had a pony kiss me before.”
-
677.
“Me either.”
-
678.
>She giggled, still looking at you.
-
679.
>”It didn’t feel like how they describe it in my corny vampire romance books.”
-
680.
>Now you snort a laugh, you feel your cheeks brightening.
-
681.
“What?”
-
682.
>”It felt even better!”
-
683.
“Wah you’re kinda a nerd.”
-
684.
>”Yeah I am! You should give it a shot sometime, I bet you’d like a good book.”
-
685.
>You roll your eyes, and turn your head back to look out over the pond with Wah.
-
686.
>The rest of the night is spent just like you were.
-
687.
>Talking about your parents, complaining how they were the worst, and sharing stories of your fillyhoods.
-
688.
>Few of the stories were pleasant.
-
689.
>But between each you shared tender kisses.
-
690.
>Like little presents for sharing another story.
-
691.
>Each one a band aid on your hearts.
-
692.
>Eventually though Wah’s yawns started to overtake her.
-
693.
>She was leaning on you heavier and heavier with each one.
-
694.
>And as much as you wished you could just lay down to sleep with her beneath this old tree on this wonderful night, the caffeine surging through your veins and the knowledge that Wah still had to work tomorrow kept you from letting that dream come true.
-
695.
>With a heart both heavy and lighter than ever before you parted from Wah with another quick kiss and a long hug.
-
696.
>Be Wah Wah.
-
697.
>Several months had passed since you began your new job and met your marefriend Swing Shift.
-
698.
>Nearly every night after your shift was over you would find Swing waiting for you outside.
-
699.
>It had become a ritual for the two of you.
-
700.
>She would spend her five bits on a sandwich and coffee, and you’d bring either your own snacks or a blanket to sit on.
-
701.
>Most nights you went to the same park to pony watch and chat.
-
702.
>Well you did most of the chatting, she did most of the listening.
-
703.
>Some nights you’d trot around town and chat, other nights you’d look at all the stuff you couldn’t afford in the windows down town.
-
704.
>Sometimes you’d offer to buy Swing something nice, like a snack or an energy drink, but she’d always refuse.
-
705.
>Turns out she didn’t want to take your bits, she said it would make her feel like when her parents gave her bits to go away every night.
-
706.
>She was a strange mare, but as the nights went on you found yourself falling for her more and more.
-
707.
>She always was so happy to see you.
-
708.
>You’d noticed certain things about her over the months.
-
709.
>When you saw her, but she hadn’t seen you she tended to wear a frown.
-
710.
>She didn’t greet other ponies like she greeted you, and not just because you were her special somepony.
-
711.
>It was like she avoided other ponies as much as she could.
-
712.
>You’d asked her once why she even liked you at all.
-
713.
>She said it was because you cared and you were cute.
-
714.
>She knew the words to make you melt every time.
-
715.
>You found yourself daydreaming again.
-
716.
>A new idea had entered your mind as you found yourself now with actual savings.
-
717.
>The sound of the little bell by the door knocked you from your idle imagination.
-
718.
>It was Swing, and she was already trotting over to you with a fresh smile on her lips.
-
719.
>You gave her an even broader one as she strode over to your sandwich station.
-
720.
“Mango and cheddar hoagie for my best bat?”
-
721.
>She rolled her eyes at you, but she still looked happy as ever.
-
722.
>”Yeah, you know me.”
-
723.
>You could see Mrs. Bun from behind the counter practically grinning at you.
-
724.
>Looking back to Swing you spoke as you worked.
-
725.
“So anyway, tonight there’s going to be the equinox celebration in town. I was thinking instead of just hanging out in the park we can go see what it’s about. I heard there’s a fair and stuff. Not like we have to play any games or anything, but it’s free to go in. There’s also supposed to be fireworks too! Wanna go?”
-
726.
>Swing hesitated, no doubt a bit anxious to be around so many other ponies.
-
727.
>She kicked a hoof against the floor, but finally made her decision.
-
728.
>”Yeah, sure. I guess it could be fun. Just ughhh as long as we don’t really have to spend any bits.”
-
729.
>As you finish wrapping her sandwich, you shake your head.
-
730.
“Nahhhh we’ll just go trot around. Besides the sun’s nearly set anyway. So like they’ve gotta start the fireworks soon. Then we can get outta there and I dunno find something else to do away from everypony else.”
-
731.
>You gave her a wink, she just looked away a bit, wings fidgeting.
-
732.
“Anyway I’ll be back in a minute, I just got to clock out. You getting some coffee?”
-
733.
>She nodded.
-
734.
“Okay! Meet you out front!”
-
735.
>It really did take you just a minute to take off your work apron and visor and throw on your saddlebags.
-
736.
>You had the same blanket you’d been bringing the past few months rolled up on one side and in the bag on the other just a few things like your bits and little trinkets.
-
737.
>It did feel pretty good these days having bits of your own.
-
738.
>You hated to admit it, but your moms had been right about at least one thing when they made you go get this job.
-
739.
>The pay was pretty good for a convenience store.
-
740.
>Maybe Swing will let you buy her a cotton candy.
-
741.
>Trotting towards the exit, you can see Swing through the glass doors.
-
742.
>She was sipping her nightly coffee.
-
743.
>A flavor you’d come to savor on her lips.
-
744.
>However, before you could leave Mrs. Bun whistled over to you.
-
745.
>”Oh Wah, dearie, I couldn’t help overhearing you’re going to the equinox celebration with your lovely bat friend.”
-
746.
“Yeah! It was a kind of spur of the moment thing. I just thought it’d be nice even if it is a fair and they’re going to have all sorts of stuff they want us to spend our bits on. And a bunch of ponies there too. I guess it just sounded nice.”
-
747.
>”Oh it is! I used to go with stallions every year. You know those fireworks are quite the event. Especially for young lovers~”
-
748.
>You blush a bit, waving a hoof at the old mare.
-
749.
“Mrs. Bun, please.”
-
750.
>”What? You tell me everything you two do anyway. Not like I’m complaining, I find your stories absolutely riveting.”
-
751.
>She gave you another wink that just made your cheeks burn a bit brighter.
-
752.
>Maybe you shouldn’t spill your guts to the pervy old mare so much.
-
753.
>”Anywho I wanted to tell you, I didn’t want her feeling like she wouldn’t be able to enjoy it herself, so I made up some horsefeathers about a free sandwich promotion for today only. Go, have some fun, get something nice. Don’t worry about the bits, I covered it. Now shoo, go get to her!”
-
754.
>With a little swatting motion of her hoof she beckoned you away.
-
755.
>All you could say as she waved you away was.
-
756.
“Thank you, Mrs. Bun!”
-
757.
>Trotting outside you found Swing standing around enjoying her free meal.
-
758.
>In one wing she held her sandwich, already half eaten.
-
759.
>In the other wing she grasped her coffee.
-
760.
>Every bite was followed by a gulp of the sugary caffeinated concoction she made every night.
-
761.
>When she saw you she perked up more, quickly swallowing her mouthful.
-
762.
>”Hiyah Wah!”
-
763.
>She takes another bite of the hoagie you made for her and a sip of her coffee.
-
764.
>It’s obvious the caffeine is already hitting her, she speaks eagerly.
-
765.
>”Can you believe my luck? Today was free hoagie day for the equinox! Why didn’t you tell me?”
-
766.
>You nervously chuckle, but play it off as cool as you can.
-
767.
“I ughhhh guess I forgot. You know long days and stuff. It’s hard to keep track of all the offers and promotions they do. Anyway, want to trot and talk? The fair is just across town.”
-
768.
>Swing shrugged, but with her wings occupied that’s about all she could do.
-
769.
>Also, you wanted to get her away from the store asap so she won’t question Mrs. Bun’s deception.
-
770.
>”Sure, yeah. I barely trot anywhere. I could use it.”
-
771.
>Feather’s she saw you quickly glancing at her flanks.
-
772.
>She just rolled her eyes and very obviously turned herself to trot away, swaying her flanks in your face.
-
773.
>”Come on, you can ogle my rump on the way.”
-
774.
>Feathers was everypony trying to make you blush tonight.
-
775.
>You stammer as you canter to catch up.
-
776.
“I-I wasn’t staring! I was just looking… to… the… ughhh ground?”
-
777.
>She giggles as she takes another sip of her nightly coffee.
-
778.
>”You don’t have to be all embarrassed. I like to look at your flanks too. Besides there’s a lot to look at~”
-
779.
>She shakes her flanks again, accentuating how she trots.
-
780.
>You feel like you shouldn’t be looking, but Celestia, you did like it when she did that.
-
781.
>Still, after a moment’s appreciation, you canter up next to her and try to shake off the embarrassment and nerves.
-
782.
“Soooo have you ever been to the equinox festival before? My moms never took me, so I only know what other ponies told me in school. Supposedly there’s games and rides and food and all kinds of stuff!”
-
783.
>As you spoke, Swing took another bite from her hoagie and swig of caffeinated bean and sugar water.
-
784.
>”Yeah I actually have. I used to wander into it when my parents would kick me out. It’s pretty much that, some carnival games, some fried food, and yeah there are fireworks. Also your moms still sound like cunts.”
-
785.
>You snort back a laugh, looking away for a moment.
-
786.
>She was right, and you were never ever going to bring her to meet them.
-
787.
>You looked back to her the embarrassment having faded and been replaced by your normal chipper tone.
-
788.
“Wow! That sounds so cool! Well ughhh the fair part anyway. Your parents still sound mean.”
-
789.
>”You can call them cunts too you know, I don’t mind.”
-
790.
“Yeah I guess they are.”
-
791.
>The curse just didn’t feel right on your tongue, even if they really were.
-
792.
“But yeah, the fair always sounded so cool! Like I’ve never been to anything like it, but I’ve read stuff about them in my books and they always sound really romantic. Especially ones that have ferris wheels or fireworks or like those games where you can win stuffed animals.”
-
793.
>Swing gave a nod of her head as you trot along towards the glow in the distance.
-
794.
>You could already hear what sounded like the din of the fair, and you were sure Swing had picked it up long ago.
-
795.
>”Yeah well get ready, this place has all those things.”
-
796.
>Your wings fidgeted in excitement as you felt a desire to just fly there immediately, but Swing was still using hers for her food.
-
797.
“Well then lets gallop! Come on, I don’t want to miss any of it.”
-
798.
>”Whoa, whoa hold your horses. It’ll still be there. Besides it’s bad enough I’ve got to trot and eat and chat, but I can’t do galloping and all that.”
-
799.
>You felt an energy building inside you, and excitement like a little filly going to the fair for the first time.
-
800.
>But you held yourself back, instead just cantering circles around Swing as she trot and tried to finish her food.
-
801.
>She looked only a little annoyed, but you could tell she was having a good time because of the little smile on her muzzle.
-
802.
>Before long you were at the fairgrounds.
-
803.
>You were in awe.
-
804.
>Colorful lights had been strung up along a bunch of poles in the town commons.
-
805.
>To one side stood a row of food vendors.
-
806.
>On the far side there were a bunch of stalls with games.
-
807.
>And in the center a whole bunch of carnival rides were spinning, flying, and making all kinds of noise.
-
808.
>And between everything were an absolute ton of ponies.
-
809.
>Bat ponies, earth ponies, pegasai, and some unicorns were all trotting around having a blast.
-
810.
>You wanted to burst with excitement, but when you turned to look at Swing, she seemed much more hesitant.
-
811.
>Her ears folded back as she looked unsure, her wings crumpling the empty paper cup and hoagie wrap uneasily.
-
812.
>You gave her an assuring nudge and bright smile which seemed to sooth her a bit.
-
813.
“Come on! Lets go get some tickets! What do you want to do first? We can play some games or Oooooo look!”
-
814.
>You point to the ferris wheel in the center of the fair.
-
815.
“We could ride that!”
-
816.
>It was loud, and Swing obviously strained to hear you as she leaned into you.
-
817.
>”H-how bout we play a game or two. Yeah? Like ughhh that one.”
-
818.
>She pointed a hoof toward a milk jug game.
-
819.
>It looked pretty simple.
-
820.
>One bit bough you five balls and all you had to do was get one ball in the jug for a small prize, two for a medium, and three for a large.
-
821.
>How hard could it be?
-
822.
>….
-
823.
>THUNK!
-
824.
>”Buck!”
-
825.
>That was Swing’s last ball bouncing to the side of the milk jug.
-
826.
>Turns out she was a pretty lame shot.
-
827.
>The pony behind the counter just gave her a shrug and a “better luck next time”.
-
828.
>Swing kicked her hoof at the ground, and you felt a bit bad for her.
-
829.
>That bit meant a whole lot more to her than it would have for you.
-
830.
>You didn’t really feel like you were a better shot than she was, so you scanned the other games.
-
831.
>Quickly you spotted something you figured your big mouth might be good at.
-
832.
“Hey Swing! Bet I can win you something from that one!”
-
833.
>You pointed a hoof at a stand set up for apple bobbing.
-
834.
>”Heh you think?”
-
835.
“Oh yeah! Like my moms say, I’ve got a big mouth! Bet I can win you something really nice!”
-
836.
>She just rolled her eyes, lightly tapping your haunch with a hoof.
-
837.
>”Alright Wah, sure. Bet you can’t win the grand prize.”
-
838.
“Oh I bet I can!”
-
839.
>The game was simple.
-
840.
>A bucket full of apples.
-
841.
>One bit bought you ten seconds to try and bob for as many as you could.
-
842.
>One apple was a small prize, three was a medium, and five was a large prize.
-
843.
>Again, should be easy for a fast pony who like to run her mouth like you.
-
844.
>Handing over a shiny bit to the carny pony, he set a stop watch.
-
845.
>And ten seconds and barely three apples later your whole mane and face was soaked.
-
846.
>But you grinned happily as you looked over to Swing and spit out the apple.
-
847.
“Told yah I could win you a prize. What’cha want?”
-
848.
>Swing just scoffed, but stepped up next to you anyway.
-
849.
>”You said you’d win the grand prize with that big mouth of yours.”
-
850.
>You bumped your flank into hers and quipped with confidence.
-
851.
“I think it already won me the grand prize~”
-
852.
>Swing went red in the face as she quickly shot you a look, murmuring a curse.
-
853.
>“B-buck Wah, really?”
-
854.
>You just grinned some more, and pointed up to the medium prizes hanging behind the pony behind the apple barrels.
-
855.
>Sheepishly she looked up to the row of stuffed animals and thought for a moment.
-
856.
>”There, can I have that one?”
-
857.
>She pointed a hoof at fluffy sheep with a little smile sewn on its muzzle and sleepy looking eyes.
-
858.
>When the carny pony hoofed it to her, she gave a little smile and hugged it with a wing.
-
859.
>As you trot away from the stall she looked particularly happy hugging her prize under a wing.
-
860.
>She rubbed up against you as you trot nowhere in particular.
-
861.
>”Thanks Wah, I think I’ll name him Sheepy. Like Sleepy, but sheep.”
-
862.
>You giggled at the stupid name, but nuzzled into her side.
-
863.
>That was well worth the bit.
-
864.
>With a prize won for your marefriend and plenty of time before the fireworks would start you figured you could ride a few rides.
-
865.
>But before you could point a hoof towards the collection of carny rides you felt Swing pushing her prize towards you.
-
866.
>”Here, hold Sheepy. I wanna win you something too!”
-
867.
“You don’t have to, I don’t mind. Besides we can go on some of the rides and stuff before the fireworks start.
-
868.
>”Nah, just lemme try. I know I can get you something too!”
-
869.
>You blinked, but took the stuffed lamb in your wing and tucked it into your saddlebag for safe keeping.
-
870.
>For once you managed to bite your tongue and not bring up how Swing only had a few bits to her name.
-
871.
>Still, you felt your anxiety flare as she confidently trot to another game stall.
-
872.
>She chose a ring tossing game.
-
873.
>It was pretty simple, just had to get some rings on a bottle.
-
874.
>With all the caffeinated confidence in the world she trot up to the attending pony and placed a bit on the counter.
-
875.
>In return she got a bucket of ten rings.
-
876.
>You figured she should have an advantage since she can throw them with her wing instead of her mouth like most ponies have to.
-
877.
>Still as you watched her toss the first ring a few hoof lengths from the nearest bottle you had to look away.
-
878.
>Each time you heard her curs under her breath you flinched.
-
879.
>And counted.
-
880.
>You just watched the other ponies happily trotting by as the curses piled up.
-
881.
>Hearing the ninth, you tentatively looked back to Swing.
-
882.
>She was tense as she stared down the last ring in her talon.
-
883.
>Eyes focused, body rigid, mane swept out of the way with a hoof.
-
884.
>She threw the little ring.
-
885.
>It soared through the air.
-
886.
>And for just a moment it looked like it glowed.
-
887.
>With a clatter it found home around the neck of a bottle in the middle of the collection.
-
888.
>”I did it! Buck yeah!”
-
889.
>Swing did a happy little prance in place as she celebrated winning the small prize.
-
890.
>Letting out a long-held breath, you canter to her side and join in her little celebration.
-
891.
“You did it! I never doubted you!”
-
892.
>You had.
-
893.
>And by the look Swing was giving you, she knew you were lying.
-
894.
>But still, she was smiling smugly and just motioned to the row of prizes.
-
895.
>”Pick whatever you want… from ughhh there!”
-
896.
>She scanned the rows of prizes before pointing a hoof towards the rack of small prizes near the bottom of the display.
-
897.
>There wasn’t much to choose from.
-
898.
>Little foals games like a ball and cup, noise makers, saddle bag patches, and…
-
899.
“Oh oh I’ll have that!”
-
900.
>You eagerly point at a gaudy brass tiara.
-
901.
>The smiling unicorn behind the counter just nodded and levitated the tiara onto your head as you beamed.
-
902.
>She gave you a smile and a nod as you adjusted the little piece of worked metal.
-
903.
>Turning to Swing you had to keep yourself from nuzzling her lest you poke her with your prize, but your smile was more than enough for her.
-
904.
“Thank you thank you thank you Swing! I love it! I feel just like a princess now!”
-
905.
>Swing snorted a little laugh while looking proud that she’d won you something.
-
906.
>”Well you are kinda my princess.”
-
907.
>She gave you a little nudge, but then quickly added with a scrunched muzzle.
-
908.
>”But not in like a weird way. Now gimme back Sheepy.”
-
909.
>Feeling like a princess you graciously bequeathed Sheepy back to Swing who immediately tucked the stuffed animal under her wing.
-
910.
>For the next few moments, you just stood awkwardly by the stand looking at each other before giggling.
-
911.
“Soooo wanna ride the ferris wheel now? We probably have a little time before they start shooting off the fireworks. Though it is getting pretty dark now. I bet they’ll still wait like another fifteen minutes just to be extra sure it’s definitely dark enough.”
-
912.
>Swing shrugged.
-
913.
>”Sure, yeah, lets go.”
-
914.
>It was getting quite dark and you weren’t sure if you’d have time for a quick ride, but you managed not to blab that.
-
915.
>Though it seemed like a lot of other ponies had the same idea.
-
916.
>The line was modestly long.
-
917.
>But that didn’t bother you much.
-
918.
>”Hey Wah, you alright, you’re tapping your hoof a lot”
-
919.
>Oh feathers you weren’t really good at hiding anxiety.
-
920.
“I guess I’m just nervous about the timing is all, you know, I don’t want to be stuck in line when the fire works go off. That wouldn’t be really romantic you know.”
-
921.
>Swing seemed unphased, simply shrugging a wing.
-
922.
>”If they start then we can just quick fly closer or somewhere without so many other ponies.”
-
923.
>Celestia she was so nonchalant.
-
924.
>She probably didn’t overthink things at all.
-
925.
>Standing in line with all the other ponies, you looked around again, taking notice of all the mares with their stallions.
-
926.
>Or the occasional mare and mare couple that looked like more than just friends.
-
927.
>Kicking your hoof a bit as the line moved forward slowly, you figured it was worth taking a risk.
-
928.
>Silently you leaned against Swing.
-
929.
>You felt her startle for a moment, but she didn’t move away.
-
930.
>Instead you just felt her wing fidget a bit.
-
931.
>How you like the feeling of her odd leathery wing on your coat.
-
932.
>You let out a happy sigh.
-
933.
>She was a bit taller and bigger than you, so you felt fine leaning against her as the minutes passed by.
-
934.
>Somehow you kept yourself quiet and in the moment for the whole time it took you to get through the line.
-
935.
>The sun had long set and you really weren’t sure just what time it was anymore.
-
936.
>But that didn’t matter as the carny pony lead you and Swing onto the admittedly sketchy looking gondola.
-
937.
>You could hear the other ponies chatting in line, but that faded away as the wheel brought you and Swing into the sky.
-
938.
>As the two of you went higher around the wheel you snuggled into Swing more, careful not to poke her with your tiara.
-
939.
>She responded by wrapping a wing around you.
-
940.
>A shiver ran down to your dock as her wing around you.
-
941.
>Approaching the zenith of the ride you felt it shudder and stop as some ponies were being offloaded down below.
-
942.
>From up here you could see the whole fair and a bit of the town as well.
-
943.
“Oooo look you can see the Wawa from here!”
-
944.
>You pointed a hoof eagerly in the direction of your barely visible work.
-
945.
>You heard Swing scoff.
-
946.
>”Is all you think abo – “
-
947.
>BANG!
-
948.
>She was cut off as a colorful explosion ripped through the sky in front of you.
-
949.
>As the show commenced the lights from the fair below you and even the lights on the ferris wheel shut off, leaving the fair in darkness.
-
950.
>Sitting high above the rest of the ponies below, you felt even more comfortable cuddling into Swing’s side.
-
951.
>Swing only acknowledged you with a gentle squeeze of the wing as she gazed with wonder at the sky filling with colors.
-
952.
>Her ears were flat though, no doubt more sensitive to the loud sounds.
-
953.
>As the firework show went on you thanked Celestia and Luna for your luck tonight.
-
954.
>Really it couldn’t be more perfect.
-
955.
>You felt Swing shift towards you.
-
956.
>Her muzzle met yours.
-
957.
>Under the glowing sky you shared a long kiss.
-
958.
>Time melted away as you felt yourself escaping into an eternal moment with your special somepony.
-
959.
>By the time the show had ended and the ferris wheel had deposited you back into the fair grounds below you were red in the cheeks, both of your manes messed up.
-
960.
>The taste of her coffee still fresh on your lips, you felt glued to her side as you two trot aimlessly through the fair.
-
961.
>Ponies were already clearing out, and the night felt much quieter now.
-
962.
>Still Swing seemed to lead you off to a quieter part of the fairgrounds, away from the rides and excitement.
-
963.
>”Thanks for taking me tonight Wah. I never really had anypony to go with. I don’t think I’ve ever really had this much fun here in the past.”
-
964.
>You felt your heartbeat pick up a bit as you continued to trot.
-
965.
>You readjusted the ill-fitting tiara, fidgeting it with your wingtip.
-
966.
“Thanks for coming with me to it. I know it was kind of a last minute idea and stuff, but I’d never gotten to go before. I’d always read stuff about fairs and, you know, heard the fireworks in the distance in past years. But, you know, my parents and everything…”
-
967.
>Coming up to a tree at the edge of the park, you turn back and look at the fair, now somewhat distant.
-
968.
>It’s lights still casting a glow in the quickly fading smoke from the fireworks show.
-
969.
>The screams and cheers of ponies on the rides echoing across the field.
-
970.
>Swing stands by your side, also sharing the moment.
-
971.
>”I still can’t believe your parents never took you, not even once.”
-
972.
“I kind of thought it was normal not to go for the longest while. It wasn’t until I really started getting out that I realized it’s not really all that normal to have parents who are so…”
-
973.
>”Crappy.”
-
974.
“Yeah that.”
-
975.
>You sigh and lean against Swing again.
-
976.
>She’s soft and warm.
-
977.
“So, Swing. I’ve been thinking. Would you want to maybe try to get an apartment together?”
-
978.
>You felt the larger mare hum.
-
979.
“I just, well since I started making bits, I’ve got a some saved up. I could, like, afford a couple months rent on my own. It would be tough, but I think we could make it work. I get most of my food for free anyway, and well ummmm. If you, you know, also got a job then we could afford it easy. If that’s something you want to do.”
-
980.
>Having made your offer, you hold your breath.
-
981.
>You’d been thinking about asking Swing this for the past few weeks.
-
982.
>You’d done the math, you’d looked at the ads for apartments in town.
-
983.
>You knew that you could afford a single bedroom unit for maybe four or five months with your savings and income.
-
984.
>If Swing could also get a job like yours then you two could make it work easy.
-
985.
>It wouldn’t be luxurious, but it would get you two away from your parents.
-
986.
>And give you someplace to cuddle in private.
-
987.
“So… What do you think?”
-
988.
>”I ughhh. I think I’d like that.”
-
989.
“Y-you would? You mean it?”
-
990.
>You felt Swing’s wing drape over you again in a reassuring hug.
-
991.
>”Yeah, I guess it’s about time I leave my place. It sucks there anyway.”
-
992.
>You nuzzle into her side, happily.
-
993.
“But, do you think you can get a job somewhere? I don’t really think the Wawa is hiring right now, or I’d definitely put in a good word for you.”
-
994.
>She shrugged.
-
995.
>”Ehhhh it’s what it’ll be. I don’t really like the idea of you supporting me, so I’ll find somewhere as soon as possible. There’s always got to be somewhere hiring night shift.”
-
996.
>Be Swing Shift.
-
997.
>Be three months later.
-
998.
>Be waking up around your usual time, right as the sun was beginning to set.
-
999.
>You can smell the coffee already brewing from the kitchen, just outside the bedroom.
-
1000.
>Wah must have just gotten home and put some on for you.
-
1001.
>It was your weekday routine.
-
1002.
>She still worked day shifts, and you worked night shifts.
-
1003.
>Neither of you were able to convince each other to upend your circadian rhythms so you could be on the same time.
-
1004.
>But that didn’t matter on weekdays anyway.
-
1005.
>You managed to get a job, just not at the same place Wah worked.
-
1006.
>Instead, you managed to land a gig as a cashier and general wagie for another convenience chain in town, Sheetz.
-
1007.
>It was sort of like a Wawa that just tried a little less.
-
1008.
>Maybe it was just like you.
-
1009.
>You could never manage to quite meet Wah’s wavelength after moving in.
-
1010.
>But again, that didn’t matter.
-
1011.
>She loved you all the same and you loved her just as much.
-
1012.
>Besides it was nice having somepony make the bed every morning when you got home.
-
1013.
>And have somepony make you coffee every day.
-
1014.
>And somepony who actually enjoyed when you came home every morning.
-
1015.
>Luna yeah, you were pretty lucky that you found Wah.
-
1016.
>And you always made sure to show it to her too.
-
1017.
>Rolling out of bed, you did your normal toss of the sheets to make them more presentable.
-
1018.
>Admittedly less presentable than Wah left it for you, but hey she never complained and it was better than the nest you were used to back when you lived with your parents.
-
1019.
>Trotting the twenty odd paces out the bedroom into the single shared kitchen/dining room/living room of your small apartment you found Wah sitting at the table reading a book.
-
1020.
>Another vampire pony romance book.
-
1021.
>Must be a good part, her wings look pretty flustered, and she only put it down a few moments after you were already in the room.
-
1022.
>”Oh morning or ummm night Swing!”
-
1023.
>You trot to her and gave her a long kiss.
-
1024.
>She tasted like Wawa hoagie.
-
1025.
“Night Wah, how’s the book?”
-
1026.
>”Oh it’s getting really juicy! I just got to the part where the Count of Old Marecello revealed to Primrose that he’s in fact over a thousand years old and a vampire! And I mean of course that freaked her out, but they’re alone in his huge castle and everything is all stormy outside. So now she’s pretty much stuck there unless she wants to gallop through a thunderstorm. But She also sort of liked the Count before he told her his secret and they were getting along so well. I just can’t put it down.”
-
1027.
>You roll your eyes as you pour yourself a cup of Wawa branded coffee.
-
1028.
>You could already tell where the story was going.
-
1029.
>From what Wah told you about the genre they all pretty much had the same plot with different settings and characters.
-
1030.
“Bet you a pretty bit that he scares her, then saves her, then she eventually wants him to bite her and make her his eternal lover.”
-
1031.
>Wah fidgets in her seat, wings rustling.
-
1032.
>”What!? No way! Anything could happen. Like the could have to suddenly fight some new monster or Count Von Ponis could catch some super rare vampire disease and need Primrose to nurse him back to health. Or ummm like anything! You know?”
-
1033.
>You chuckle as you add an (un)healthy portion of sugar and cream to your black gold.
-
1034.
”Suuuuuure anything could happen. But I bet it involves a bite~”
-
1035.
>”Well… that would be nice.”
-
1036.
>You trot over to Wah “Best Bat” coffee mug gripped in your wing.
-
1037.
>You went in for a nuzzle, but her wing guided your muzzle to hers for a kiss.
-
1038.
>Reading those books always got her in a certain way.
-
1039.
>Not that you were complaining about a bit of extra affection in your version of the morning.
-
1040.
>Sitting at the table across from Wah, you sip at your daily energy.
-
1041.
>She was snoot deep back in her book, fidgeting in her chair.
-
1042.
>You just smile and roll your eyes.
-
1043.
>Maybe you should get into reading sometime, not like you had done much of it since you were a schoolfilly.
-
1044.
>Regardless, an idle mind led to quick caffeine consumption.
-
1045.
>And you sort of like watching Wah like this, all excited about some low-grade romance novel written by a pony too embarrassed to use their real name.
-
1046.
>Coffee finished and marefriend occupied, you still had an hour or so before you had to leave for your Sheetz shift.
-
1047.
>Might as well take a shower so you weren’t too greasy for your daily slog at the local grease trap.
-
1048.
“Hey Wah, I’m gunna take a shower, don’t get too hoofsy with yourself while I’m gone.”
-
1049.
>She shot you a blushed and pointed look, but just gave a muffled reply you couldn’t really hear.
-
1050.
>Mare, some ponies and their books…
-
1051.
>Still, it was so nice to have a shower of your own, well still shared with Wah, but way better than sharing it with five other siblings.
-
1052.
>And Luna the water was hot and it never ran out here.
-
1053.
>Central hot water supply for the win.
-
1054.
>With the steam building in the bathroom you let yourself relax under the hot shower.
-
1055.
>These were your most tranquil and sacred times.
-
1056.
>Nopony to bother you, nothing to distract your thoughts, and an endless shower of perfectly hot water.
-
1057.
>Though it wasn’t long before you heard the bathroom door open.
-
1058.
>An expected and welcome visitor to your little shower.
-
1059.
>With a taloned wingtip you slide the shower curtain aside.
-
1060.
>Sure enough, Wah is standing there expectantly, wings already beginning to stretch out.
-
1061.
>You give her a little smile, baring your fangs for her.
-
1062.
“You gunna get in or just enjoy the show?”
-
1063.
>You punctuate your question by flicking aside your tail, giving her a full show of what you had on offer.
-
1064.
>You could hear how she sharply inhaled through her snoot, feel how her eyes lingered on your succulent flanks.
-
1065.
>Your body gave her a little, involuntary wink.
-
1066.
>”Welllll a show is sort of nice.”
-
1067.
>You roll your eyes, turning your head away to let the warm water run through your mane again.
-
1068.
>Though you still indulge her, giving your flanks a shake with your tail held high.
-
1069.
>You knew she loved it, and it did have a way of keeping her quiet.
-
1070.
“Come on~ all the steam’s getting out and my flanks are getting cold.”
-
1071.
>To add even more incentive, you used a wing to hold one of your supple flanks to the side, giving her an even more enticing reason to get in the bucking shower.
-
1072.
>And, like magic, you heard her hooves fumble to get into the tub, and felt her press up against your hindquarters as she forced her way in.
-
1073.
>Turning to face her muzzle to muzzle, you just had to giggle a little at how awkward she looked, wings splayed out, pressing into the wall and shower curtain.
-
1074.
>Not to say your wings weren’t starting to get away from you too, but it was always so satisfying to see her this way.
-
1075.
>In the small confines of the single pony tub shower, you had little space to move, but more than enough to move your muzzle to hers.
-
1076.
>Eagerly she met you, embracing you in a long kiss.
-
1077.
>Her tongue invading your mouth at once, making straight for your fangs.
-
1078.
>It’s like that’s all she went for in your deeper kisses, rubbing her tongue along yours while scraping against your little fangs.
-
1079.
>She’d been doing that since nearly your first kiss.
-
1080.
>If you didn’t pull your head back, you figure she’d spend all day just tonguing your teeth.
-
1081.
>At this point it was almost a routine as you took a step to her side, licking her long wings.
-
1082.
>You still weren’t much good at preening, but you always gave it your best effort.
-
1083.
>And by the chills you felt run through her body each time you nipped at her wing, you knew you were doing something right.
-
1084.
>And buck, she was already licking and nuzzling at your won wings.
-
1085.
>Each time her lips would glid along your leathery wing you could feel your marebits heat up a little more.
-
1086.
>It certainly didn’t help your flanks were under the warm water either.
-
1087.
>But still, you enjoyed the moment, closing your eyes and letting your lips guide you along her wings.
-
1088.
>Every day you found each other in a similar position, whether on the bed, the kitchen table, or the shower.
-
1089.
>Muzzle deep in each other’s wings.
-
1090.
>Though for you it always felt like more of a massage and tongue bath, while you always ended up with stray fathers in your mouth.
-
1091.
>Spitting out another fallen feather, you move your muzzle to Wah’s neck.
-
1092.
>Your lips met her fur, you could feel how strong her heartbeat was, how warm her body was.
-
1093.
>She breathed a bit harder on your wing; she knew what you were going to do.
-
1094.
>”Please…”
-
1095.
>You bite her neck.
-
1096.
>Not too hard, but harder than you had the first time she asked you to.
-
1097.
>You can feel her breathing hitch as her body shivers.
-
1098.
>She lets out a sudden gasp.
-
1099.
>You bite a little harder as she moans throatily.
-
1100.
>Your fangs aren’t that long, nothing like what’s in her smutty books.
-
1101.
>So, there was only so much you could really bite down with.
-
1102.
>Still enough to leave little divots in the skin below her coat, but breaking skin would take much more force.
-
1103.
>And you weren’t out for blood.
-
1104.
>Raising a hoof to the other side of her neck, you held her as you held your bite for a little while longer.
-
1105.
>Only letting up when you felt her own hoof rest gently against your cheek.
-
1106.
>Letting up a little you kiss the spot you’d just bit, licking your fangs.
-
1107.
>Her coat tasted faintly of Wawa sandwiches.
-
1108.
“Feeling like a vampire pony yet?”
-
1109.
>”Mmmm yeah, kinda~ Your fangs are so wonderful Swing. Bite me more~”
-
1110.
>She didn’t need to tell you twice as you moved lower on her neck, taking another love bite from your sweet Pegasus.
-
1111.
>Again holding her neck in your jaw long enough to make her tail hitch and sway.
-
1112.
>Her wings fidgeted, brushing against the back of your mane as you moved up her side, biting at her wing joint.
-
1113.
>Lighter, so you didn’t hurt her thinner, more sensitive skin there.
-
1114.
>But the little moans she made with each new bite just dove you further down her body.
-
1115.
>Each one taking you near and nearer her tail.
-
1116.
>Soon you were biting at her cutie mark, giving her little goose dimples.
-
1117.
>By the way her hind leg kicked reflexively you knew she was in heaven.
-
1118.
>Slowly you pushed your way further, nuzzling your snoot under her tail.
-
1119.
>She hadn’t even gotten under the shower proper, but her flanks were soaked.
-
1120.
>Her smell was like nectar to your nose, but you knew what really made her squeal.
-
1121.
>A light bite to her dock and that did the trick.
-
1122.
>Her high-pitched squeal made you fold your ears, but your reward was severalfold.
-
1123.
>A delightful little stream of her liquid excitement dribbled down her leg as that same leg kicked out again.
-
1124.
>If you weren’t careful your foreleg could get a bit of a bruise, but you knew better.
-
1125.
>Letting your fangs linger over her dock, you moved towards your prize.
-
1126.
>muzzle lowering you took a long lick up the side of her pink pussy.
-
1127.
>Savoring her rich flavor, and letting your tongue tease her to no end.
-
1128.
>Each lick brought another shiver through Wah’s whole body and another fidget of her wings.
-
1129.
>It was an awkward position for you, but you had to make do in the confined shower.
-
1130.
>Raising a forehoof, you parted her pussy to lick at her better.
-
1131.
>The way her clit winked so rapidly for you was always something you liked about her.
-
1132.
>Even as you felt her own muzzle lowering you your own tail, you knew your body just didn’t react the same.
-
1133.
>A little gasp escaped your lips as you could feel her own tongue lapping at your marehood.
-
1134.
>Buck she was such a good merfriend.
-
1135.
>But still, you wanted her to squirm under your hoof.
-
1136.
>So, you picked up your pace, rubbing your forehoof in little circles over her clit as you bit at her flank some more.
-
1137.
>It was a dirty tactic to try and overstimulate her like this, but you were a dirty and greedy mare.
-
1138.
>Buy how unfocused her licks were becoming you knew it was working.
-
1139.
>Her clit winked uncontrollably under your playful hoof.
-
1140.
>”S-Swing~”
-
1141.
>Her restless hind hoof stood still, resting on just the tip as her other hind hoof fidgeted, widening her stance.
-
1142.
>Dragging your forehoof up and down her soaked pussy, you could feel her tension building.
-
1143.
>”F-feathers, please… Swing!”
-
1144.
>Your hoof moved fasted as you felt her muscles beginning to spasm.
-
1145.
>Quickly you moved your mouth to her cutie mark, biting harder than you had before.
-
1146.
>As your fangs sunk into her tough hide, your hoof held still over her clit as she tensed up.
-
1147.
>”F-feathers!”
-
1148.
>A long stream of hot marecum escaped her pussy, soaking your hoof.
-
1149.
>Pulling at the side of her pussy, you held your bite as she released a day’s tension all over the shower.
-
1150.
>As the tension released from her body, she slowly sunk down to the ground.
-
1151.
>You released your bite as she reached the ground.
-
1152.
>Feeling victorious over your marefriend, you readjusted your position in the shower so that you stood over her, straddling her.
-
1153.
>Having pushed the shower head to the side, you lay your body on top of her, mounting the pega.
-
1154.
>She gave a little exhale as you let some of your weight sink into her back, your hips giving a playful little buck.
-
1155.
“Awwww spent already?”
-
1156.
>Her body still spasmed every few seconds underneath you.
-
1157.
>Breathing heavily, she craned her neck up as you craned yours down to embrace in a nuzzle.
-
1158.
>“No… just, you know, catching my breath. Feathers that felt so good.”
-
1159.
>Be Wah Wah.
-
1160.
>Be trying to catch your breath on the floor of your shower while your marefriend sits on top of you.
-
1161.
>Celestia she felt heavy ontop of you.
-
1162.
>In a good way of course!
-
1163.
>But she had just rocked your world with little more than her hoof and her amazing fangs.
-
1164.
>Feathers you wished she would bite you even harder sometimes.
-
1165.
>But… then you’d have to explain why you would have puncture wounds to your coworkers.
-
1166.
>Maybe they’d understand.
-
1167.
>But no, nuhuh absolutely not.
-
1168.
>But maybe you could say you fell on something sharp.
-
1169.
>On your neck.
-
1170.
>Twice…
-
1171.
>As you breathed heavily, the tingling sensations still electrifying your wings and dock.
-
1172.
>Feathers she was still bucking her hips playfully against yours.
-
1173.
>You could feel her teats rubbing up against your back.
-
1174.
>The heat between her thighs radiating against your flanks.
-
1175.
>And it wasn’t just the water from the shower that was making your dock feel damp either.
-
1176.
>It was your turn to give her a proper thank you for her ever-so-lovingly biting the living Tartarus out of you.
-
1177.
“Hey Swing can you ummm get up please? I wanna have a turn too.”
-
1178.
>”Oh buck yeah! You don’t have to tell me twice.”
-
1179.
>As the weight from your back lifted, you took a deeper breath and pushed yourself up on wobbly hooves.
-
1180.
>Mare, you never got used to having somepony to actually bite you like you’d fantasized about all those years.
-
1181.
>Shuffling around in the confined tub shower, you let your whole body rub along Swing’s, nuzzling her hot leathery wings as you went.
-
1182.
>Celestia, you really couldn’t help yourself with her wings.
-
1183.
>Instinctually you began to nuzzle and lick at them more.
-
1184.
>Feeling how they shivered under your tender caress.
-
1185.
>How Swing’s breathing hitched.
-
1186.
>Really bat ponies and Pegasus ponies weren’t too dissimilar.
-
1187.
>Both can’t control their wings when they get hot.
-
1188.
>Both absolutely love having their wings caressed, even if bats didn’t have feathers to preen.
-
1189.
>And both could get off with enough wing play.
-
1190.
>Still, you treated her tender flight appendages with care.
-
1191.
>You didn’t use your teeth, instead only licking and running your lips along her wings right to her cute little talons.
-
1192.
>Your hoof coming up to rub at her flank as your lips kissed as far along the wing you could reach.
-
1193.
>Her breathing was steady and deep; the muscles under her supple flank tensing some as you massaged her.
-
1194.
>Moving your hoof down under her tail you felt her warmth.
-
1195.
>Celestia she was so hot.
-
1196.
>You moved your muzzle down to the base of her wing, licking at where her wing met her soft hide.
-
1197.
>Giving your hoof more reach you let your eyes close as her heat guides your hoof.
-
1198.
>Just a bit further and.
-
1199.
>You breath in sharply through your snoot as you feel her clit wink beneath your frog.
-
1200.
>Your lips purse against her strong wing, kissing a bit harder as your keep your hoof still.
-
1201.
>Suddenly you feel a shift in Swing’s wing, her talon digging into your hock.
-
1202.
>”Hey Wah, I appreciate this whole slow wingplay thing, but I still gotta get to work, mind, speeding things up a little?”
-
1203.
>She nudged at your shoulder, prodding you to move towards her rear.
-
1204.
>Pulling your lips away from her amazing wings, you give her a sheepish look, ears flattened.
-
1205.
“Heh, s-sorry you know how I just kinda get carried away with your wings and stuff. I mean, I don’t want to make you late or anything. But I just –“
-
1206.
>”I’ll give you a goodbye bite if you put that mouth of yours to work on something other than chatting. How’s that huh?”
-
1207.
>Wiggling her flanks a little, she gave her tail a swish, draping it to the side.
-
1208.
>Taking a few ginger hoofsteps towards the rear of the shower, you feast your eyes on your marefriend’s prize.
-
1209.
“F-feathers… I ummm.”
-
1210.
>She gave her flanks another alluring shake, her clit winking again for you.
-
1211.
>”Less gabbing, more licking.”
-
1212.
>She took a step forward, letting the warm shower fall over her head as she angled her body downwards and her hips up towards your snoot.
-
1213.
>Faced with her marehood, your wings gave another stiff fidget as your own tail swished uncontrollably.
-
1214.
>Celestia you could feel her heat on your snoot already.
-
1215.
>Gingerly you pressed your muzzle forward, giving her a long kiss on her marehood.
-
1216.
>Her hot clit winked eagerly against your chin as you closed your eyes, deepening your kiss.
-
1217.
>Tongue pressing into her folds, you got your first real taste of her tonight.
-
1218.
>Salty, a bit bitter, with something else that just set your heart a flutter and gave your tail a mind of its own.
-
1219.
>Pressing your muzzle deeper as you made out with Swing’s pussy, you couldn’t help but rub a forehoof up her hindleg.
-
1220.
>You pulled back for just a moment as she fidgeted her legs, widening her stance for you.
-
1221.
>She knew where your hoof was going, and she knew to accommodate you.
-
1222.
>It was hard to hear over the sound of the running water, but you could swear you heard her moan your name.
-
1223.
>Celestia, you loved hearing that, even if it might have been your imagination.
-
1224.
>With renewed vigor, you pressed your muzzle into her pussy, licking deep into her sensitive folds.
-
1225.
>Your hoof trailed up her inner thigh, causing a cascade of involuntary muscle spasms on it’s way.
-
1226.
>But you didn’t let it linger, instead quickly finding her supple teats.
-
1227.
>You always felt sort of awkward when you did this, but it always made you feel like you were actually in control and not just taking orders.
-
1228.
>As eagerly as your tongue lapped up Swing’s delicious pussy juices, your hoof rubbed at her teats.
-
1229.
>Your frog ran back and forth over her hard nipple, swirling and flicking the hard nub.
-
1230.
>If you weren’t in such an awkward position in the shower you’d be tempted to suckle at her teats.
-
1231.
>Celestia that reminded you of how you convinced Swing to bit your teats the other night.
-
1232.
>How you could feel them ache the whole rest of the day at work.
-
1233.
>How each hoofstep was a struggle to keep your wings from flaring or your tail from flicking.
-
1234.
>Wait, no, focus Wah.
-
1235.
>It was your turn to please Swing.
-
1236.
>You can fantasize more with your hoof once she was gone and at work.
-
1237.
>Renewing your assault on her pussy, you angled your muzzle up a bit, letting your tongue run against the top of her pussy.
-
1238.
>Your hoof kept active between her teats, giving equal love to both.
-
1239.
>”Wah~”
-
1240.
>Your heart skipped a beat as you heard her moan your name more clearly.
-
1241.
>She had to be getting close.
-
1242.
>Especially with how vigorously you were gliding your tongue across every inch of her pussy our could reach.
-
1243.
>It was time you got even more serious.
-
1244.
>Dragging your hoof away from her teats, you placed your frog firmly on her clit.
-
1245.
>You just gave her a firm pressure, letting her wink into your frog as you did all the work with your mouth.
-
1246.
>You knew this was a little insidious, but hay, a mare should have a little fun.
-
1247.
>”Wah~ Please…”
-
1248.
>Her clit was winking so rhythmically, in time with the contractions of her pussy around your muzzle.
-
1249.
>It was almost mesmerizing.
-
1250.
>You timed your licked so that each time she winked her walls would squeeze your tongue just a little.
-
1251.
>And with each wink you got a little more of her flavor on your lips, coating your tongue, feeding your desires.
-
1252.
>”Buck, Wah, I need you!”
-
1253.
>Her voice was strained; your jaw was growing tired.
-
1254.
>You began to make little circled with your hoof against her clit.
-
1255.
>You felt the contraction immediately.
-
1256.
>Her hips buckled under your onslaught.
-
1257.
>You readied yourself, opening your mouth wide for her love.
-
1258.
>She came hard for you.
-
1259.
>A hot stream of her tick marecum filled your mouth as you drank greedily from the fountain of your marefirnd.
-
1260.
>Her taste was overwhelming, your senses went blank as your partook in her essence.
-
1261.
>She coated your muzzle, leaving a thick trail running down your chin, soaking into your chest fluff.
-
1262.
>She rewarded you so well for your efforts, but you were a greedy Pegasus.
-
1263.
>Licking more even as she collapsed onto you.
-
1264.
>You wanted more, but she was too much as she fell backwards, a quivering mess of a mare.
-
1265.
>You tore yourself away, opening your eyes to see her wings quivering.
-
1266.
>You reached a hoof out, stroking at one.
-
1267.
>She gasped, and shuddered more.
-
1268.
>You licked your lips and smiled.
-
1269.
>”Wah…”
-
1270.
>Swing squirmed to turn herself around in the shower.
-
1271.
>It was an awkward movement, especially with her wings still shuddering, refusing to hold to her sides.
-
1272.
>But she eventually managed to face you, only to fall into your chest.
-
1273.
>You hugged her as you stroked her mane.
-
1274.
>For the next several minutes you held the embrace, her muzzle pressing into your soft chest fluff as you held her and stroked her wet mane.
-
1275.
>But like all things, it eventually had to end as she pulled herself together and moved her flanks under the running water.
-
1276.
>She let out a long sigh as she flicked her tail, giving you one more view of her dark marebits.
-
1277.
>”I don’t want to go to work Wah.”
-
1278.
>You felt the same, but still it wasn’t like either of you could afford days off.
-
1279.
“You know I’ll be here waiting for you when you get home.”
-
1280.
>”That’s what makes it worth it.”
-
1281.
“Love you Swing.”
-
1282.
>”Love you too Wah~”
-
1283.
