  2. The sad ending of Mommy by JakieChanTulpa (https://ponepaste.org/3901)
  3. for those who are looking for feels, or, again, if you want to see her suffer.
  4. Both are intense in their various ways.
  5. -----------------
  6.
  7. >Be Twilight.
  8. >It's been a day since you had Nonny's surprise party. You were just waking up.
  9. > Even though yesterday was her party, she still had to attend school.
  10. >You knew that she may be sad when she came home, the foals at her school were ruthless like that. But she had to attend
  11.
  12. anyways.
  13. >Some days you wondered if it would be better if you didn't transform Anon in the first place. Your mind would always
  14.
  15. yield different results
  16. >But at this point, changing her back was practically impossible, reversing age, removing memories and changing species to
  17.
  18. something you knew was easy and symptom-less if done correctly
  19. >But adding age, nonexistent memories, and transforming to a species you were unfamiliar with was exceptionally hard.
  20. >Anon didn't like you studying him.
  21. >Anyways, you had just finished your morning routine and were heading over to Nonny's room to wake her.
  22. >As soon as you reached her door, you could hear a loud audible groan come from her in her room.
  23. "Nonny?"
  24. >Opeining the door, you see her with her hooves around her head.
  25. >"Nonny...Are you okay?"
  26. >"My head hurts Mommy."
  27. >This was to be expected, eating too much of Pinkie Pie made cake could do that to pony as one could only eat so much
  28.
  29. sugar.
  30. "How bad does it hurt?"
  31. >You slowly rub her head in a comforting manner.
  32. >"Bad."
  33. >Maybe it was time to use the pain suppressant spell.
  34. "I guess you could stay home today...hold on"
  35. >Using your magic, you channel it to cut off the nerves causing her pain, along with a sleep-aid spell, since it was
  36.
  37. possible she didn't get much sleep.
  38. >You watch as she slowly drifts off to sleep. Right after you leave to make some tomato soup with cheese sandwiches.
  39. >It was the perfect thing during sickness.
  40. >You were sure she'd be alright and ready for school tomorrow.
  41. >But for now she needed somepony to help her get better.
  42. >It could only get better...right.
  43. >It has been a few day since Nonny's illness.
  44. >Ever since that suppression spell you casted on her she has been feeling better.
  45. >At the moment you were sitting with Rarity while having some herbal tea.
  46. >"...And I'm telling you. I was surprised she changed like that"
  47. "Well I already knew that it was going to come sooner or later"
  48. >Looking to a clock on a nearby wall, you see that it was about time to go pick up Nonny from school.
  49. >Switching back to Rarity she saw too that it was about time to go pick them up.
  50. >
  51. >A short trot through the town to the school later, you and Rarity came across the fillies and colts leaving the school
  52.
  53. either alone or with their parents.
  54. >Sweetie Belle was walking with her own sort of clique, also known as the CMC.
  55. >Nonny however was sitting next to Miss Cheerilee and talking with her.
  56. >She looked a shade or two darker green.
  57. "Ready to go honey?"
  58. >Miss Cheerilee spoke up before she could.
  59. >"Not yet Twilight, I'm afraid I have to tell you that Nonny here got sick in class today."
  60. >Again?
  61. >"During one our class presentations she outside and vomited."
  62. >The suppression spell didn't work?
  63. "Maybe she ate something?"
  64. >Miss Cheerilee shook her head.
  65. >"She didn't want to eat during our free time today."
  66. >Wow...That sick.
  67. "Then I guess we'll have to get you into a nice warm bath then"
  68. >You levitate her onto your back as you let her get off her hooves and rest, she seemed to shiver as she was on your.
  69. >Beginning the walk back home Nonny began to complain about her illness.
  70. >"M-Mommy, my head hurts again, a-and I feel cold"
  71. >Maybe a home visit from Doctor Horse would be good.
  72. >Anon originally never liked him...something about puns.
  73.
  74.
  75. >Arriving home you had Nonny wrapped up in a blanket while under another sleep-aid spell. You sat and waited next to her
  76.
  77. as sat patiently for Doctor Horse to arrive.
  78. >You slowly stroked her mane as the minutes seemed to tick by.
  79. >"Wake up Miss Twilight"
  80. >You suddenly stand back up from your sleep and look around.
  81. >It was Dr.Horse
  82. >"You called for me Twilight?"
  83. >Rubbing your eyes you get yourself back to conciseness .
  84. "Y-yes"
  85. >You use a spell to discontinue Nonny's sleep-aid spell, and nudge her a couple times to wake her.
  86. >"So what issues has she been having lately?"
  87. >Nonny didn't seem to want to wake, she stirred but refused to get up.
  88. "Well...Several days ago her head began to ache. But I fixed that with a simple suppression spell. But today she seemed to
  89.
  90. get only worse"
  91. >He pulled out several general medical instruments.
  92. >Doing the basics: Heart rate, Blood pressure, temperature, etc.
  93. >He uses his magic to analyze her body.
  94. >"It seems more like the flu, but with the way it looks I can't be sure."
  95. "So.. what do you recommend?"
  96. >He pulls out a brown colored bottle.
  97. >"Well... You could give her some of this medicine for the symptoms until I can get back to you with what is wrong"
  98. >It was better than her suffering through it.
  99. >
  100. >You let your daughter sleep until morning before waking her again.
  101. >Maybe it was a bad idea. when you went back into her room she seemed pale in appearance.
  102. "Nonny...Get up"
  103. >Her eyes fluttered slightly open.
  104. >She didn't say anything as you brought over the medicine.
  105. >Everything about her seemed weak: Her gaze, to color, even her clutch on Miss Hornet.
  106. >You pull out a spoon as you fill it with a red liquid from the bottle.
  107. >Levitating it over to her mouth, she opens and swallows it.
  108. >She winces slightly.
  109. >You hope it was the flu.
  110. >She just looked so miserable
  111. >After taking her liquid, she seemed for cheerful now and full of color.
  112. >Though she still felt a bit cold.
  113. >Right now, you were just sitting on the sidelines while she played with CMC in the castle.
  114. >It was nice to see her finally happy for once.
  115. >You wished the other students at her school would stop teasing her though.
  116. >Looking at them play, they were playing a game called extreme chef, where one pony would be the judge and the others
  117.
  118. would try and make something.
  119. >Nonny was judge.
  120. >It might be foolish and messy but you let them use the kitchen ingredients while observing them from afar.
  121. >"It's bucking raw!"
  122. >Nonny was pretending... at least you thought... that she was angry at Sweetie's cooking.
  123. >They'd be covered head to hoof in flour, sprinkles and other ingredients afterwards.
  124. >This would have need them to have a long two hour, bath.
  125. >Not a pretty sight.
  126. >In no time at all, it was nearly nine.
  127. >At this point you and her were eating finishing a bowl of overly sugared cereal.
  128. "It's time for bed honey, got brush up...I'll be there in a second"
  129. >She complied and ran up the stairs to the bathroom.
  130. >You took the dishes and dumped them in the sink to be cleaned later.
  131. >Looking at the medicine bottle next to it you read it's label.
  132. >It read 'Take once in the morning at once at night'
  133. >KNOCK KNOCK
  134. >Who could be here at this hour?
  135. >Walking over and opening the large set of double door you saw it was the mailmare Derpy.
  136. "What can I do for you Derpy?"
  137. >She handed you a letter.
  138. >"It's from Ponyville hospital, they wanted same-day delivery"
  139. >Just like that she flew off into the night, but not without bumping into a few light poles.
  140. >Closing the door, you looked at the letter and threw it on a near table.
  141. >You'd read it later.
  142. >You had to bring this medicine up to your daughter's room for the night.
  143. >Opening your daughter's door you saw that she was already snuggling into her bed with Miss Hornet for the night.
  144. >"Nonny...Honey, you still have some medicine to take"
  145. >She looked at you with a disgusted face.
  146. >"Do I have to? it tastes bad."
  147. "Yes you do. you want to stay well don't you?"
  148. >Nonny shifted uncomfortably
  149. >Using your magic you brought over a spoonful of medicine to her mouth.
  150. >Instead of choosing to argue further, she took the spoonful of medicine and cringed from the flavor it gave.
  151. >Glad she didn't refuse, you turned around to leave.
  152. >"Wait!"
  153. >You look back at her, she was reaching out to you while also trying to cover her face with the blanket.
  154. >"Could you.....Maybe....Sleep here tonight"
  155. >Was she having nightmares again?
  156. "Alright, Just let me deal with this one thing first"
  157. >She nodded as you left the room to go retrieve the letter from the hospital.
  158. >It still laid there on the table.
  159. >Grabbing it with your magic you turn back around to head back upstairs.
  160. >You ripped it open as you went up
  161. >After reading off the letter from Doctor Horse, you knew this was serious.
  162. >But then again, you have overreacted before.
  163. >And it was also a problem for future Twilight too.
  164. >Needless to say, you were tired.
  165. >Making your way back over to Nonny's room, you push open the door.
  166. >The room was already dark, you see your daughter already snuggling into the blankets, and cuddling Miss Hornet.
  167. >Walking softly into her room, you climb into the bed slowly.
  168. >Wrapping your hooves around her and bringing her close, you felt her small warm body.
  169. >It brought a smile to your face.
  170. >Was this what it felt like to be a mother?
  171. >You let your self drift off into a peaceful slumber.
  172. >This was nice.
  173. >You hoped it would stay this way.
  174. >
  175. >You wake to the sound of your own mental alarm clock going off.
  176. >Your hooves were still around Nonny, who was still peacefully asleep.
  177. >Maybe you could waste a couple hours by staying here.
  178. >But wasn't there an appointment today?
  179. >Ugh.
  180. >As much as you wanted to stay here, you couldn't.
  181. >Slightly shaking your daughter, you try to get her to rise.
  182. >Health was more important than comfort.
  183.
  184. >Walking down town with Nonny. You and her made your way to the hospital for her urgent appointment.
  185. >"Why do I have to go to the doctor's again Mommy?"
  186. >You didn't want to worry her.
  187. "Because it's important to see a doctor once in a while"
  188. >"But last time I was there it was all cold and sad there."
  189. >She was referencing the time after her attempted suicide.
  190. >You still cringed at the memory when you found her half-dead on the floor.
  191. >Making your way into the reception area with your daughter, she goes to sit down while you go see the receptionist.
  192. >"Name?"
  193. >She didn't even bother to look up from the paperwork she was doing.
  194. "Sparkle"
  195. >Looking up at you with shocked eyes, she probably felt as if she desecrated a god.
  196. >"T-Through those doors ma'am"
  197. >Her hoof shook as she pointed to the double doors.
  198. >You beckoned Nonny to follow, who was playing with a set a building blocks.
  199. >Both of you follow the receptionist to the office.
  200. >
  201. >Upon entering Doctor Horse's office, you see him and several other ponies hovering over pages of data sheets.
  202. >Doctor Horse looks up to see you.
  203. >"Ah! Twilight, thanks for coming quick."
  204. "So...what was it you needed"
  205. >"What I needed was...um...Nonny, do you think you could stand outside for a few minutes, the big ponies need to talk"
  206. >She looks at you and him irritated that she couldn't hear, but listens to him and goes out into the hallway.
  207. >He clears his throat.
  208. >"Now Twilight, me and my colleagues have spent hours into this to confirm this"
  209. "Confirm what?"
  210. >"Before I answer that, how did Nonny come to be?"
  211. >You might as well be honest.
  212. "I transformed her from another creature born in the Everefree forest"
  213. >Half-honest.
  214. >"And was your concentration completely at this spell?"
  215. "Yes."
  216. >"Was the spell well practiced?"
  217. "Yes."
  218. >"Was it done under emotional or mental stress?"
  219. "N-....Yes"
  220. >He looks at you grimly.
  221. >"Then....I'm afraid I have some news for you"
  222.
  223. "W-what is it?"
  224. >You were growing more anxious as the seconds ticked by.
  225. >"It seems that the magic you used on her may be returning"
  226. "How?"
  227. >"It seems that the spell you casted on her while under stress caused a boomerang effect where it returns back in full
  228.
  229. force"
  230. >You start to shake at the possibilities.
  231. >"Though this boomerang effect will happen at a slow pace, and has already started by the looks of it."
  232. "What will it happen to her?"
  233. >"Well... since the magic will return on it's own, but not have anypony to control and direct it. it will cause her body
  234.
  235. more harm than good."
  236. >What was going to happen to her?
  237. "So what spell or medicine does she need to fix this?"
  238. >He remains silent.
  239. "Doctor?"
  240. >"The spell is destabilizing Twilight Sparkle"
  241. >He says this in bleak yet dull tone.
  242. >"It will need energy to sustain itself, and it will steal it from her"
  243. >There has to be a spell to fix this.
  244. >"It will eventually cause her cells to die off and her organs to shutdown. She was lost since she was created"
  245. >Your breath catches in your throat.
  246. >There will be no tears, Nonny will ask what's wrong.
  247. "H-H-How lo-"
  248. >"How long.....Half a year.... at best"
  249. >You could do nothing but stare at the floor in shock and premature grief.
  250. >"You will need stronger medicine"
  251. "W-what?"
  252. >"That medicine I gave you yesterday, it can act as a light pain reliever. As they months go by her pain and symptoms will
  253.
  254. get worse"
  255. >This could only get better and better and worse and worse
  256. >"You can use simple over-the-counter medicine for the first few months. But after a while I'll have to give you some
  257.
  258. magically enhanced pain reliever"
  259. >Standing there silent, you could only look down in shock and try to think on your next course of action. But this was
  260.
  261. hard because your mind was already filling with grief induced depression.
  262. "A-a-and w-what do you recommend?"
  263. >You finally get the courage to look back at him but just barely.
  264. >"You being a mother, you should know this....But... if you had to ask me, spend everyday with her."
  265. >You wearily shake your head and leave his office.
  266. >You're shaking when outside of his office.
  267. >"What did he want mommy?"
  268. >Jerking your head towards your daughter, you see that she has been waiting patiently for you.
  269. >You can't bear to tell her what you were just told.
  270. "N-nothing... He just wanted me to make sure you ate right and did okay in school."
  271. >She only looked at you funnily
  272. "Hey Nonny. Do you wanna go out for some ice cream"
  273. >
  274. >Heading over to Sugarcube corner, you and Nonny reserved a table for you two to eat some deserts.
  275. >while you secretly sulked in your mind.
  276. >For your deserts, you had chocolate shake while Nonny had Mint.
  277. >The time you were there Nonny talked about school and her times with the CMC.
  278. >It only made it worse on you.
  279. >She talked about her future.
  280. >"...Then me and Scootaloo got the idea that we should start this support group for ponies who are hurt..."
  281. >It hurts for you to listen.
  282. >Should you plan out these months for her?
  283. >Should you tell somepony?
  284. >Celestia... she hasn't even seen your parents yet either.
  285. >You decide that you need to plan out these months out with her.
  286. >The months after her....end...would be the hardest for you to think about.
  287. >As she sipped her straw, her cheeks sucking inward as she tries to get as much of the shake as possible, you had to ask.
  288. "Nonny...You know that I love you, right?"
  289. >She stopped sipping to answer.
  290. >"Of course mommy, sometimes you can get angry at me, but I still know you love me"
  291. >Why did you ask. It only brought more pain.
  292. "And...do you love me?"
  293. >She wraps her small hooves as much as she car around you.
  294. >" I'll always love you Mommy...no matter what."
  295. >Slowly you wrap your hooves around her to return the embrace.
  296. >Was this how it felt to know you will never hear that again one day?
  297. >It's been one month since the diagnosis.
  298. >Today, while Nonny was at school, you invited your friends over to the castle to talk to them about it.
  299. >"So darling, why did you want us here today?"
  300. >This was hard to do.
  301. "I've been thinking on how to say this for a month now"
  302. >"About what sugarcube?"
  303. >You paused for a minute to collect your thoughts.
  304. "I'm sure you all remember how Nonny became what she is right?"
  305. >They all nodded and agreed.
  306. "Well....about a month ago she started getting sick"
  307. >"I remember how miserable she looked when I went to go pick up Sweetie Belle"
  308. "Yeah....anyways, I took her to see Doctor Horse the day after, I though it was going to be something simple like a cold
  309.
  310. or flu"
  311. >Dash is the next to speak up
  312. >"Where are you going with this Twilight?"
  313. >You ignored her as you continued on.
  314. "He told me somethings that were hard for me to hear..."
  315. >Your throat got tight as things went on.
  316. "The spell I had casted to create her...went wrong."
  317. >Rarity, being a unicorn, was especially confused at this.
  318. >"How? You seem like a capable alicorn Twilight, She doesn't seem to have any underlying issues"
  319. "You all remember how Anon was kind of a jerk right?"
  320. >They did. But they more or less still respected him.
  321. "On that day when Nonny came to be, I was frustrated at somethings Anon did in the past, and I thought of that as I casted
  322.
  323. the spell on him"
  324. >It was a high-level spell, so even Rarity was confused as to what the problem was.
  325. "So...If there are any impurities in the caster's state of mind it can cause....problems"
  326. >You took a breath before continuing
  327. "The magic used on her is coming back slowly"
  328. >Dash asked another question.
  329. "Soooo... She's a unicorn now?"
  330. >Looking at her grimly, you shake your head slightly.
  331. "and without anypony to control, or even able to control it...."
  332. >Rarity was the first to catch a gist of what was happening, her eyes going wide and placing a hoof over her own mouth in
  333.
  334. shock
  335. "It is and will continue to grow....unstable"
  336. >"So... what will happen?"
  337. >Tears start to form in the corners of your eyes, you stopped looking at your friends an continued to look at the table
  338. "They...they gave her half a year"
  339. >No questions had to be asked, as everyone knew what it meant.
  340. >"Mommy, I'm home"
  341. >The doors to the castle open, you gasp and quickly try to switch to stone face.
  342. >As she approaches, you put on a fake smile and looked at her as she came toward you will a gleeful smile.
  343. >Even though she wasn't in any visible pain, her psychical symptoms grew worse, even in just a month.
  344. >She grew slightly more pale than her normal color, Nonny didn't see it, but you could see she was dragging her hooves, as
  345.
  346. if tired.
  347. >There were other slight symptoms as well, but these were the most notable to you.
  348. "How was school today honey"
  349. >"It was awesome, today Miss Cheerilee gave me an A on today's math test"
  350. >She pulls out a paper to show you, assuming it was the paper.
  351. "That's wonderful...why...don't you go upstairs and play with Miss Hornet for a little bit okay?"
  352. >"Okay!"
  353. >How many more smiles would you witness from her before her last day on Equestria.
  354. >As soon as she left upstairs to go to her room, Fluttershy was the next one to ask a question
  355. >"Have you not told her yet?"
  356. >You turn around slowly to look at her. At this point tears were rolling down your cheeks.
  357. "Would you want to know when you'd die. I just want to see her happy and remember her as a happy cheery filly"
  358. >Your voice wavers as you talk.
  359. "Not as the innocent little filly I had drove to the point of suicide and depression with the pain I had caused her"
  360. >With these months ahead, you were going to make damn sure you could make her as happy as possible everyday
  361. >Till her very last.
  362. >It's been two months since the diagnosis.
  363. >For most of it, you'be been searching for a way to stop the magic from killer her.
  364. >Your attempts have made you little progress.
  365. >Besides searching for a cure, you've been with Nonny...a lot doing various things: playing, reading, or just being
  366.
  367. motherly toward her.
  368. >Sometimes you'd let her miss school.
  369. >Today, you and her were on a day long ride to Canterlot.
  370. >You remember she asked about that pancake restaurant there.
  371. >Not only that, but you were going to take her to meet your brother and sister-in-law.
  372. >"So why are they so far away?"
  373. "Because they're important ponies like me"
  374. >With the new month you've noticed she sometimes has to stop doing anything to catch her breath.
  375. >She now has bags under her eyes.
  376. >And also the tip of her mane seemed to be whitening.
  377. >"Like you?"
  378. >Giggling at the question, you respond
  379. "Sort of like me, but more important."
  380. >"Are you sure they'll..."
  381. >She pauses to catch her breath.
  382. >"...Like me?"
  383. "They're real nice ponies...besides if things get hairy I'll be next to you"
  384. >It would only be a few hours till you both arrived in Canterlot
  385. >"Will daddy be there too?"
  386. >This question catches you by surprise. She technically didn't have a father.
  387. "Uh....I don't know....I sent him a letter, but he didn't say anything back"
  388. >She replies in a somber tone
  389. >"Oh....Okay."
  390. "I-I'm sure he'll be there"
  391. >Please don't be sad.
  392. >"Sure..."
  393. >The therapy classes helped, but only so much.
  394. "We better get some sleep if you want to go get some pancakes tomorrow."
  395. >Immediately her mood picked up.
  396. >"Okay!"
  397. >She ran off the the sleeper car on the train.
  398. >You'd be there in a minute to go tuck her in.
  399. >It was just that sometimes you'd throw your self in a mental loop.
  400. >You were just stuck the thought of how life was going to be without her.
  401. >Things were worse spiritually. She'd die, and you would have to wait milleniums or even more to see her again when your
  402.
  403. day of reckoning came.
  404. >Celestia, it hurt you to think.
  405. >Be Nonny.
  406. >You and mommy have finally made it to the pancake restaurant.
  407. >The excitement of just being there had you practically bouncing off the walls.
  408. >Though you would have to wait a little bit since Twilight said that we had to wait for aunt Cadence and Uncle Shining.
  409. >So currently you and her were justing sitting at a booth while waiting for them to arrive.
  410. >She doesn't realize how hard it is for you to watch servers go by with trays full of pancakes, while you could only stare and drool.
  411. >Besides the pancakes, you noticed within the past few months after you started taking medicine, that Mommy has gotten more....motherly
  412. >It's not bad or anything, it's just it seems rushed or unnatural.
  413. >But you accepted her love either way.
  414. "I'm hungry Mommy."
  415. >"It'll only be a few more minutes honey."
  416. >Maybe a little walk around will calm your anxiety and hunger.
  417. >"There you are Twiley"
  418. >You turn in your seat to see a white unicorn and pink alicorn approach you two.
  419. >That must be them.
  420. >They look at you and Shining speaks up first.
  421. >"So is this the little fill-"
  422. >He stops abruptly and looks at you with a look of concern.
  423. >Why? Was your mane messed up, Did you look weird.
  424.
  425. >Be Twilight.
  426. >You left Nonny at the table for a minute after your brother pulled you away to ask away.
  427. >"Twiliy...Why does she seem more....pale, than the picture you sent us?"
  428. >This was not a time for such things, now was a time for happiness.
  429. "I'll....tell you later"
  430. >He looked like he wanted to press the matter even further, but didn't.
  431. >"O-Kay?"
  432. >You two returned to the table, where Cadance was striking up a conversation with Nonny.
  433. >"Really? That seems like a weird thing for Twilight to do to chocolate milk"
  434. "What are you two chatting about?"
  435. >Cadance looks at you shocked, her snout scrunching.
  436. >"N-Nothing"
  437. >Maybe that incident with tipping over milk was something you shouldn't of shared with her.
  438. "So lets eat shall we."
  439.
  440. >Be Nonny.
  441. >I front of you now, sat a large plate of pancakes topped with syrup, raspberries, blueberries, whipped cream, and cherries.
  442. >You didn't even give Twilight the chance to give the silverware before you dove head first into the delicious treat.
  443. >Coming back up, you had one full pancake hanging out of your mouth with sticky syrup covering your face.
  444. >Everypony laughed at your appearance, all you had was a gleeful smile on your face.
  445. >"Couldn't wait couldn't you?"
  446. >This was going to be a good day.
  447. >
  448. >Be Twilight.
  449. >After Nonny decided to cover her face in syrup. You, and your family decided to make a retreat to the Canterlot castle for a little downtime.
  450. >"So Nonny, how old are you?"
  451. >"five!"
  452. >She and Cadence were asking questions back and forth.
  453. >"Annnnd are you really a princess of love"
  454. >"Sure am"
  455. >Shining didn't really say anything though, he was still caught up in her appearance.
  456. >You'd deal with it later when you got to the castle.
  457. >It was best to keep your mind off the ordeal
  458. >Be Twilight
  459. >It's Been four months since the diagnosis.
  460. >You've watched Nonny be a happy little filly in almost every way possible.
  461. >from a bedtime story to her birthday party everything seemed okay on the outside.
  462. >While on the inside things were only getting worse.
  463. >They symptoms took a toll on her body, she was a ghostly white, her body ached her so much that near lethal grade painkillers was the only medicine enough to combat it.
  464. >Vomiting was a weekly thing for her, every time she asked why it was happening you always gave an excuse that she either pushed her self too hard or ate something bad.
  465. >You'd never tell her the truth.
  466. >You wanted her to be happy.
  467. >She had a hard time catching her breath sometimes, and she'd be so thin that she could be mistaken as a anorexic pony.
  468. >You still haven't touched the thought of what you'd do after she was gone.
  469. >Mostly because you found the urge to puke when thinking it.
  470. >Maybe you should take up drinking to cope?
  471. >Considering you always found yourself silently mourning in your room while she was at school.
  472. >You fucked up BAD.
  473. >Be Nonny.
  474. >Today on you way to school you held a poster in your mouth.
  475. >It was for a project on a family tree that Miss Cheerilee had assigned.
  476. >Why did she always look at you with a sad face.
  477. >You didn't know nor did you care, this was going to be the best family tree anypony has ever seen.
  478. >You thought it was so well done you even included Miss Hornet.
  479. >"Oh look it's the anorexic pony."
  480. >You stopped at the school steps to look at DT and her two pony posse
  481. >What a fucking cunt....You may or may have been around the Apple farm too much.
  482. >You just ignored her and continued to go place your poster by your desk for later.
  483. >She has been calling you anorexic lately, you weren't sure what the word meant and neither did you care enough to look it up in a dictionary.
  484. >Sticks and stones they say.
  485. >But yet she persisted as always.
  486. >"Careful Diamond Tiara, she might go emo on us and start cutting herself"
  487. >Karma would get them eventually.
  488. "What do you want Diamond Tiara"
  489. > You said in a irritated tone.
  490. >"Nothing, I just wanted your tips on your weight loss." she said this in a mocking tone.
  491. >Maybe if you teamed up with the CMC to fight her, maybe you could fear her away from bullying you?
  492. "Just go away."
  493. >You were meek at first when meeting her, but now you just didn't care about her.
  494. >The bell rang; time to start class.
  495. >You and all the students took their seats.
  496. >You'd get an A on this for sure.
  497. >"Today class we'll be presenting out family tree posters to the class."
  498. >The class all collaboratively groaned except you and a few others.
  499. >"Do I have any volunteers to go up first?"
  500. >You hoof was the first to go up. You were so excited you felt out of breath and a little lightheaded.
  501. >You time is now.
  502. >Standing up to present in front of the class, you brought up the poster and Miss Hornet with you.
  503. >The poster displayed family going from you at the top to your great great great great great grandparents.
  504. >Though there was one little line going from your name to a box dictated for Miss Hornet.
  505. >She was your family when nopony else was.
  506. "This is my Family tree here, as you see I have a lot of uncles and aunts...."
  507. >You must of been very nervous since your you felt a little dizzy. But you persisted onward.
  508. "It even goes all the way back as far as eight generations..."
  509. >Miss Cheerilee asks a question out of nowhere.
  510. >"Who's that next to your name on the poster?"
  511. >She was referencing Miss Hornet.
  512. >Placing her on your head you explain.
  513. "This is Miss Hornet, some of you have already met her. The reason why she is on there is because...."
  514. >Wow you were really out of breath, maybe if you sat down your nerves would calm themselves.
  515. "...Because she was once what I considered a family after I felt so alone for some time and...."
  516. >As you tried to catch your breath DT spoke up.
  517. >"See, what'd I tell you? She is such a lonely freak"
  518. >You swore you could hear Miss Cheerilee scold them on the comment, but you could only focus on the rising pain in your chest.
  519. >By this point you were taking lagres gasps for breath.
  520. >"Nonny...are you okay?"
  521. "Y-Yeah....I'm just....."
  522. >You couldn't help but begin to clutch your chest, It was hurting pretty bad at this point.
  523. >Why were there black spots in your vision?
  524. >"Let me go find some hel-"
  525. >The last few words were muffled out as you collapsed to the ground out of sheer exhaustion.
  526. >Even if you didn't want to sleep, you didn't have a choice as unconsciousness took you by guerrilla warfare.
  527. >All you could hear was your rapid breathing.
  528. >Maybe it wasn't nervousness that did this.
  529. >Be Twilight
  530. >You managed to pull yourself out of your depressed rage from your dilemma.
  531. >Right now you were reading Starswirl's journal for the third time in two months.
  532. >You needed to relax, you needed to cope.
  533. >You were doing everything you could to be the best.
  534. >"Twilight?" There was a voice outside.
  535. >Near the front door it sounded like. It was accompanied by several knock at the door.
  536. >Standing up you made your way to the front door of the castle.
  537. >Still not used to it. it wasn't like your comfy treehouse.
  538. >"Twilight, I need to talk to you immediately "
  539. >You open to door to reveal a Miss Cheerilee who looked as if she was about to pass out from panic.
  540. >Sort of like you.
  541. "What's wrong Cheerilee"
  542. >"It's about your daughter."
  543. "Why? What's going o-"
  544. >You understood and you two began a mad dash over to the hospital.
  545. >Why so soon? She still had a few more months.
  546. >The stress was easily creeping it's way back into your system.
  547. >
  548. >Cheerilee and you burst through the doors of the emergency room.
  549. >She waits behind while you hastily make your way to the desk.
  550. "Is my daughter here!"
  551. >She looks at you somberly.
  552. >"So she's yours then?"
  553. >Be Twilight.
  554. >You've been waiting by Nonny's bedside for over an hour hoping she'd wake up.
  555. >She still had two more months. Why did she start now?
  556. >For the time being, you spent time thinking about the wonderful things you did with her for the past couple of months.
  557. >Taking her to see Cadance, going out with her every week for ice cream, reading her to sleep.
  558. >Seeing her face on her birthday.
  559. >Then your imagination took over, what if she was your biological daughter.
  560. >What would your memories be: Seeing her drink a bottle of milk, you comforting as she cries after scraping herself, singing her to sleep with a lullaby.
  561. >Nonny began to stir and moan, this immediately catches your attention.
  562. "Nonny?"
  563. >She barely opens her eyes as she looks at you.
  564. >"Why am I home Mommy?"
  565. >The last thing you wanted was her to worry. so you used a simple illusion spell to disguise the room.
  566. "Miss Cheerilee said you had a fever today, so I'll take care of you"
  567. >It seemed like the smallest touch could hurt her now.
  568. >"Where's Miss Hornet?"
  569. >You levitated her beloved toy to her waiting hooves.
  570. >"Mommy?"
  571. >You wanted her stay one more day with you.
  572. "Yes...Nonny"
  573. >"I'm tired"
  574. >Please don't say that.
  575. >Your breath quivered as you took a shaky breath.
  576. "Then go to sleep Nonny...I'll be here when you wake up"
  577. >Be Apple Bloom.
  578. >You and your friends sit in your school desks solemnly.
  579. >Waiting for school to start, while refusing to talk amongst each other.
  580. >It was needless to say you learned of Nonny's terminal condition that had plagued her for so long.
  581. >It would explain all those drastic changes she was going through.
  582. >You initially thought it was puberty or depression hitting her.
  583. >Guess not.
  584. >"All right class, after yesterday's incident we'll have to continue our presentations..."
  585. >Class has started already?
  586. >Maybe you were too lost in grief to notice.
  587. >"... But since Nonny is absent today, we'll have to go with somepony else today, so...."
  588. >"Of course she's not here today! She practically died of embarrassment. Who puts a doll on a family tree"
  589. >Diamond Tiara....Of course.
  590. >"Please Diamond, Keep your petty insults to yourself. She was simply too sick yesterday"
  591. "She actually did"
  592. >Your words come out softly, but just enough for the others to hear it.
  593. >"What did you say Apple Bloom?"
  594. >You look up to face from your desk to face Cheerilee.
  595. "She actually did"
  596. >Cheerilee was still more or less confused of to what you were referencing.
  597. >"Did what?"
  598. "S-She....Died"
  599. >Cheerliee's face turns into one of dissapointed anger.
  600. >"Now Apple Bloom, we don't make those kind of jokes in school"
  601. >You don't answer, you only look at her with your grief stricken face.
  602. >"Y-You're not kidding, are you?"
  603. >Once again, you don't answer.
  604. >Out of the corner of your eye you see Diamond's face turn into shock.
  605. >"O-Oh My...Class...you may have an early recess today...I need to think"
  606. >You...along with the rest of the class leave their desks to head outside.
  607. >Instead of screams of joy, come whispers of sadness.
  608. >As you head out, you look to the left to see Diamond Tiara still in her seat, laying her head on her hoof.
  609. >Thinking hard looks like it, a bit upset too.
