Heart's Warming Short

                                            >You've started elementary school some months ago

                                            >Since the accident you've been staying with Octavia and her family

                                            >They also sent both of you to the same school

                                            >You don't like it there

                                            >You and Octavia learned sign language, so you can "talk" to her

                                            >Kids here make fun of you

                                            >Not just because you cannot talk, but also because you can't stop your eyes from twitching

                                            >They even tried to hurt you once, but Octavia stood up to them

                                            >You smile and look at her sleeping form

                                            >She always takes care of you, protects you, comforts you when you are sad

                                            >When you have nightmares

                                            >She's like your big sister

                                            >You snuggle close to her and she instinctively wraps her arms around you

                                            >Octavia is gone, probably already downstairs

                                            >You get up and go after her

                                            >There is a big, heart-shaped decor in the living room with some presents under it

                                            >You go towards them and see one with your name on it

                                            >Taking the package, you carefully start to unwrap your present

                                            >You don't want to damage the wrapping

                                            >It takes a minute before you take it out of it's box

                                            >It's a pair of sunglasses with purple lenses

                                            >Seems quite big for you too but they are really pretty

                                            >Still, you have no idea what to do with them in winter time

                                            >"I thought you could use them to cover your eyes." You hear Octavia speak as if she knew what you were thinking

                                            >"I uh... I know you are really sad because of other kids and I thought maybe you would look cool in them and they wouldn't laugh at you anymore. Now you can make more friends!" You turn to her.

                                            >"The small ones weren't pretty so I got you a big one. You like it?"

                                            >You feel your eyes sting and a drop of tear runs down your cheek

                                            >"Oh no! You hated it." Octavia sits down in front of you and grabs your hand

                                            >"I- I'm so sorry, Vinyl. I didn't mean anything by it. I just thought maybe you..." She hesitates for a second. "I just don't want you to be sad anymore. It... It hurts so much."

                                            >Tears start running down on her face

                                            >Of course you liked it! You loved it!

                                            >She got it all wrong!

                                            >But you can't tell her that because she is not looking at you now. She's crying.

                                            >You put on the glasses and just hug her

                                            >She tenses for a few seconds before returning the hug and slowing her crying

                                            >You let her go and you sign her

                                            "They are beautiful. I love them. Thank you."

                                            >She sobs once more before laughing and tackling you to the ground with a hug
