  1. "It's that bad, huh?"
  2. >You adjust the Bluetooth in your ear, keeping one hand on the wheel.
  3. >"She's just stays in her room all day, and night, only coming out to eat. Even then, she just takes it back to her room."
  4. >You sigh, making a left at the next corner.
  5. >"When you left for Basic, it broke her heart. I guess she just wasn't ready to let you go."
  6. "I...I don't know what to say to that."
  7. >"How long until you're here?"
  8. "About ten minutes."
  9. >"Okay. We can talk more while we finish preparations."
  10. "Got it. I'll see you in a few."
  11. >You hear a click in your ear, as the call disconnects.
  12. >It's April 9th. The birthday of your little sister Moon Dancer, so you thought it'd be nice if you popped up for her party.
  13. >It was hell to get approved, but they granted you some leave from duty to come see your family.
  14. >Taking less time than you predicted, you finally pull into the Moon Household Driveway, coming to a smooth stop.
  15. >There in the doorway stands the welcoming, familiar form of CuppaJoe. Your Twin Sister, who leans against the doorframe equipped with her warmest smile, as you climb out of your car.
  16. >"Hey there Sailor. Looking for a good time?"
  17. >She comically tiptoes towards you, wrapping her arms around your neck.
  18. "I don't know if I wanna get busy, with someone who looks like me."
  19. >Walker gives you a little playful shove.
  20. >"I was born before you! You look like ME."
  21. "By like two minutes."
  22. >She rolls her eyes, pecking your cheek.
  23. >"It's nice to see you. I'm glad you picked today to come back home."
  24. "It's good to be back."
  25. >She releases her hold around your neck, putting her arms behind her back.
  26. >"So, where are your bags?"
  27. >You snort.
  28. "Like you can lift my things. Just show me where I'm laying my head, mighty mouse."
  29. >"Look who left for a year, a little wimp and came back a man~"
  30. >Giving her a faux annoyed look, you pop the trunk of your car with your remote.
  31.
  32. >Thank god you packed light.
  33. >You only needed to make one trip, and it's scorching outside.
  34. >Quietly closing the door, you look around.
  35. "Some things never change. Just like Mom, and Dad left it."
  36. >NOK NOK.
  37. >"Anon's here. Come say hi, Moonie!"
  38. >Joe comes back into the room, taking your bags from your hands with a little smile.
  39. >She tries to act tough, but it's obvious the suitcases are too heavy, if the stifled grunts mean anything.
  40. >It's not long after she struggles to drag your bags to your old room, does Moon Dancer emerge from around the corner.
  41. >She has dark bags under her eyes from staying up at all times of the night, you gather, greasy hair, and her trademark oversized sweater, complete with suspicious stains present on it.
  42. "Moonie! Happy Birthday!"
  43. >She looks at you with a blank scowl.
  44. >"What do you want? I'm busy."
  45. >The coldness in her voice, literally lowers the temperature in the room.
  46. "Wow. I haven't seen you for like a year, and a half, and that's the hello I get?"
  47. >You open your arms.
  48. >Moon Dancer crosses her arms in response.
  49. >"You caught me in the middle of a Fortnite match. Is there anything else?"
  50. >You frown, lowering your arms.
  51. "Uh...no. I guess not."
  52. >She snorts rolling her eyes, retreating back to her room.
  53. >"Moonie! Where are you--"
  54. >SLAM.
  55. >Guess she crossed paths with Joe.
  56. >"I take it you two had a good talk."
  57. "Yeah. A whole Twenty words, and a shoulder cold enough to make a slushie from."
  58. >Joe puts her hand on her head, and sighs, sitting down on the sofa.
  59. >"I knew she'd be ornery, but I didn't think it'd be this bad."
  60. >You take a seat next to her.
  61. >"I hope you aren't too mad at her."
  62. "Nah. It's okay."
  63. >Joe lays back, crossing her legs.
  64. >When Ma went, the three of us were all we had, you know? She figured that we need to stick together, no matter what."
  65. "Then I left to join the Military..."
  66. >"Yeah."
  67. >Silence falls between the two of you.
  68. >"I'll admit it. I was pretty mad too."
  69.
  70. "Even though you were so proud of me?"
  71. >She smirks.
  72. >"I didn't want you to leave either-"
  73. >She then slides her hand over yours.
  74. >"-but I didn't want you to feel guilty, and think you had to stay for our sake."
  75. >After a little squeeze, she returns it to her lap.
  76. >"You're destined for great things. It'd be wrong to cage you here, and smother your potential."
  77. >Her smile seems a little sad this time around.
  78. "I know the look of regret when I see it."
  79. >"Looking into the mirror after all those nights with the Vietnamese Ladyboy hookers?"
  80. "...No comment."
  81. >Joe breaks out into laughter, slapping her knee repeatedly.
  82. >What the fuck is so funny?
  83. >"All jokes aside, let's get ready to go out."
  84. "Already? Can't a guy get a little rest first?"
  85. >She elbows you in the sides.
  86. >"Things a man should never say to two beautiful women for five-hundred alex. I'm gonna get in the shower. Go talk to your little sister."
  87. "Uh...are you sure? I don't think she wants to talk."
  88. >"She's just being stubborn. Be persistent Military man! Show her some love!"
  89. >Oy Vey.
  90. >Here you thought Basic Training was hard.
  91. >Cuppa leaves you there in the living room alone to gather your nerve.
  92. "Okay. Let's do this."
  93. >You rise to your feet, and head to Moonie's room, knocking a couple knuckles against it.
  94. >NOK NOK NOK.
  95. >A few seconds pass, with no response.
  96. >NOK NOK NOK.
  97. >"Hold your horses!"
  98. "Okay."
  99. >The sounds of shuffling and crinkling echo from behind the door. A unique odor flows from beneath the door, and into your nostrils.
  100. >You can't describe it.
  101. >It's like Egg Salad, made from Thousand year old Eggs with Pennies ground into salt for it.
  102. >The door swings cracks open, Moonie's frowning face poking out.
  103. >She stares at you silently, waiting for you to speak.
  104. ""H-hey."
  105. >"Yes?"
  106. >You scratch the back of your head.
  107. "I just wanted to talk to you a little, and...uh see what you've been up to."
  108. >She continues to stare at you wordlessly.
  109. "Can I come in?"
  110. >"..."
  111.
  112. >After giving you a once-over, she rolls her eyes.
  113. >"Sure. I guess."
  114. >She opens the door for you to enter, moving a pile of balled up tissues to the side with the door.
  115. >Mother of Christ, is it disgusting in here.
  116. >Various Burger wrappers, and French Fry containers pepper the landscape that is Moon Dancer's room.
  117. >Several Piles of clothes have made themselves at home on her crunch crumb ridden carpet, and you think you can make out a sock attached to her wall near the closet.
  118. >The only clean space is by her gaming computer, but that doesn't account for the desk it's resting upon.
  119. >The wood is warped, and looks like she's been spilling water on it, but if the smell is anything to go, by you can only hope it was water.
  120. >The corner of a porn mag poking out from under her pillow is the cherry on top of this disgusting recreation of "Joe's Apartment".
  121. >"Are you gonna stand there, or are you coming in?"
  122. "Right! Right..."
  123. >So glad you kept your shoes on.
  124. >Crrrrrruuuuunnch~
  125. >Oh god. Please don't let that be a roach.
  126. >"So what do you want?"
  127. >Moonie goes back to her desk, continuing with her game of Fortnite, not bothering to even look at you.
  128. "I just wanted to talk."
  129. >"So talk."
  130. >Well shit. She's making this awkward.
  131. "It's good to see you again Moonie. I missed you."
  132. >"Mhm."
  133. >The tone of her voice obviously says "yeah right". You can't give up now.
  134. "S-so where did you want to eat for your birthday? My treat."
  135. >"I just want McDonald's. Some Nuggets."
  136. "Just Nuggets? Not a nice steak, or a Lobster dinner? Anything you want."
  137. >Moonie sighs.
  138. >"I just want my Nuggets, and to be left alone. Can I have that?"
  139. >You frown.
  140. "Why? Don't you think you deserve to have a nice Birthday? Joe says you just sit in your room day in and out, barely coming out to eat! Let me give you something nice. You only turn Nineteen once after all."
  141. >She finally stops playing the game to turn around in her chair.
  142. >"I used to think I deserved to have my Brother."
  143.
  144. >You open, and close your mouth a few times.
  145. "Moonie, I-"
  146. >"What do you think you're doing, huh? You think that after leaving me a year ago, you could just come back, and everything would be A-Ok?"
  147. >She gets up from her seat to finally face you.
  148. >"I wanted you to stay. I NEEDED you to stay. All we had was each other! All I had was you, and Joe..."
  149. "You still have us. You still have me! I'm here now!"
  150. >You try to touch her shoulder, but she slaps your hand away.
  151. >"What if you died? We just came out of a war! What would I do then?!?"
  152. >She's starting to yell now, tears forming in her eyes.
  153. >"If I lost you, I;d just-"
  154. >She wipes her face on her sleeve.
  155. "Moonie. If anything did happen to me, you'd be fine. You're strong girl. You're beautiful, and smart. You can go anywhere in this world with those two things alo-"
  156. >SLAP.
  157. >You blink a few times in shock, suddenly looking at Moonie's messy bed.
  158. >"You don't get it! You never got it!"
  159. >The stinging sensation of your cheek sends cold shivers through your body, as you slowly turn to your little sister.
  160. >"I LOVE you!"
  161. "I love you too."
  162. >She balls her hands up into fists, looking ready to strike you.
  163. >"Just get out."
  164. "Wait, I just-"
  165. >"GO! GET OUT!"
  166. >She starts shoving you out of her cluttered room.
  167. "Your birthday though-"
  168. >"Just get me my Nuggets, and leave me alone! I don't want a cake or anything!"
  169. >The next thing you know, you're back in the hallway, feeling the cold, smelly wind of her door slamming behind you.
  170. >You slowly turn around, frowning hard, your heart aching more than your bruised cheek,
  171. "Good talk."
  172. >"Sounds like you two made up pretty well."
  173. >Joe stands leaning against the wall, arms crossed in only a towel.
  174. "Nice to see your sarcasm skills have gone up, over the year."
  175. >She scoffs, waving you over to her room.
  176. >"I know I've ran down all the bullet points of how Moonie feels about you leaving, yes?"
  177. "Yeah, for the most part."
  178.
  179. >You enter, seeing her step behind a oriental folding screen.
  180. "You kept it!"
  181. >Her silhouette removes the towel, tossing on the screen.
  182. >"Of course I did! It's awesome! Plus I can do the sexy silhouette stripping thing for people!"
  183. "You get to do that a lot, huh?"
  184. >"Wouldn't you like to know?"
  185. >Her shadow seductively bends over.
  186. "I would actually. I'd like to use my training to hunt the guys down and silently kill them in their sleep."
  187. >"Oh, you say the sweetest things! Can you hand me those shorts on the bed?"
  188. >You look to a pair of...
  189. "A-are these booty shorts?"
  190. >"Kinda. Is that a problem?"
  191. "Uh, YEAH. You think I'm letting you go out in that?"
  192. >"Relax DAD. I'm not going anywhere. Moonie wants to stay home, so I'm gonna be comfortable."
  193. >You grunt in uneasy frustration, handing her the short shorts.
  194. >"Thank you~"
  195. "Mm. So keep going on what you were saying about Moonie."
  196. >"Right. Right"
  197. >You watch as she slips into the revealing clothes from behind the screen.
  198. [Two Months, after Anon Left for Basic Training]
  199. >Finally. It's quiet.
  200. >The house creaks occasionally, as you move through the dark halls slowly.
  201. >Usually, all you would hear is the wailing, and loud sniffling of Moon Dancer from behind her room door, but as of late, she's been going to bed early, and has yet to leave her room.
  202. >It's not like you don't understand her. You didn't want him to go either, but as Mom would say, you need to let a bird spread its wings to really fly.
  203. >Corny, but true.
  204. >You tap her door lightly. You don't remember when she last ate, and you're seriously getting concerned. Sure it was sad Anon left, but is it worth all of this?
  205. >You barely touch the door, when it softly cracks.
  206. "Moonie?"
  207. >The dim glow of her computer screen illuminates the room just enough for you to peek inside, and see what's happening.
  208. >Why are you even doing this? This is your little sister. Skulking, and creeping around like some stalker is beneath you-
  209. >"Aah...Ooh.."
  210.
  211. >You enter, seeing her step behind a oriental folding screen.
  212. "You kept it!"
  213. >Her silhouette removes the towel, tossing on the screen.
  214. >"Of course I did! It's awesome! Plus I can do the sexy silhouette stripping thing for people!"
  215. "You get to do that a lot, huh?"
  216. >"Wouldn't you like to know?"
  217. >Her shadow seductively bends over.
  218. "I would actually. I'd like to use my training to hunt the guys down and silently kill them in their sleep."
  219. >"Oh, you say the sweetest things! Can you hand me those shorts on the bed?"
  220. >You look to a pair of...
  221. "A-are these booty shorts?"
  222. >"Kinda. Is that a problem?"
  223. "Uh, YEAH. You think I'm letting you go out in that?"
  224. >"Relax DAD. I'm not going anywhere. Moonie wants to stay home, so I'm gonna be comfortable."
  225. >You grunt in uneasy frustration, handing her the short shorts.
  226. >"Thank you~"
  227. "Mm. So keep going on what you were saying about Moonie."
  228. >"Right. Right"
  229. >You watch as she slips into the revealing clothes from behind the screen.
  230. [Two Months, after Anon Left for Basic Training]
  231. >Finally. It's quiet.
  232. >The house creaks occasionally, as you move through the dark halls slowly.
  233. >Usually, all you would hear is the wailing, and loud sniffling of Moon Dancer from behind her room door, but as of late, she's been going to bed early, and has yet to leave her room.
  234. >It's not like you don't understand her. You didn't want him to go either, but as Mom would say, you need to let a bird spread its wings to really fly.
  235. >Corny, but true.
  236. >You tap her door lightly. You don't remember when she last ate, and you're seriously getting concerned. Sure it was sad Anon left, but is it worth all of this?
  237. >You barely touch the door, when it softly cracks.
  238. "Moonie?"
  239. >The dim glow of her computer screen illuminates the room just enough for you to peek inside, and see what's happening.
  240. >Why are you even doing this? This is your little sister. Skulking, and creeping around like some stalker is beneath you-
  241. >"Aah...Ooh.."
  242.
  243. >You hang up the phone.
  244. >It'd be rude to tell him of a private moment you weren't supposed to even have witnessed. Anon is also making something of himself. He doesn't need to be concerned with something silly like this.
  245. >You run your hands down your face, and take a deep breath-
  246. >-And proceed to masturbate yourself.Hey, it's your sister, but that shit was hot!
  247. [back to the present]
  248. "What was that last part?"
  249. >"Not sure what you mean, but now I hope you have a better understanding of why she's so pissed with you."
  250. >You cross your arms, digesting the new, slightly disturbing info.
  251. "I never had a clue. I didn't think little sisters could look at their big brothers that way."
  252. >"And why not?"
  253. >Cup finally comes from behind the screen in her shorts and a tank top.
  254. >"I think it's perfectly normal for a girl like Moonie to be attracted to her elder brother. It's not like she..WE have any type of male figure in our life anymore after all."
  255. "Well...how do you feel?"
  256. >"About what?"
  257. >She sits on her bed, crossing her legs.
  258. "About me. Are you the same as Moonie?"
  259. >She stares at you for a long time, her bushy eyebrows lifting and lowering a few times, deep in thought obviously.
  260. >"I...what would you do with this information?"
  261. "That's not fair! You can't answer my question with another!"
  262. >"Would you act on it? If I said I wanted you also, would you take me?"
  263. "Uh..."
  264. >You lick your lips, starting to sweat.
  265. >She snickers.
  266. >"Sorry. I only waned to tease you a little. This isn't about me. It's about Moonie."
  267. >You look at her with sad eyes.
  268. >"She's frustrated with herself more than you. Just try to understand her feelings."
  269. >She stands up, embracing you tightly.
  270. >"It's great to have you back, but right now it's Moonie's special day. She needs you."
  271. >Backing away a few inches, she surprises you with a peck on the lips, and a smile.
  272. >"Now go to her."
  273. >She pushes you away, sitting back on the bed.
