Expiry: Never

  1. >The muffled hum of jet engines roar from outside, as you take your first step back on American soil.
  2. >Maybe not exactly "soil" per se, but the terminal is on American soil, so technically you're standing on the ground by proxy, right?
  3. >You lug your small carry on bag behind, as you head to the luggage claim.
  4. >"Thank for your service."
  5. "Oh! Uh...thanks."
  6. >"Good job out there. Glad to have you serving our country!"
  7. "Th-thank you."
  8. >You get a few salutes from children, and welcoming smiles, as you weave through the crowded terminal.
  9. >"U.S.A!"
  10. >You wave at another overly patriotic passenger, upon reaching Luggage claim. You saw videos of civies laying praise and appreciation on returning jarheads, but experiencing it now for yourself feels a bit strange.
  11. >Finally your green Duffel bag rolls out on the conveyor belt, with a large tag strapped to it.
  12. >Seed Anonymous.
  13. >You hoist the heavy sack over your shoulder with a grunt.
  14. >Your phone is ringing. You accept and put it to your ear.
  15. "Hello?"
  16. >"Where are you? Trying to park is absolute TORTURE."
  17. "I'm on my way out. I just got my bag."
  18. >"Well, hurry. I'm out front, and I can only circle the lot for so long. You're totally buying me gas after this!"
  19. >You roll your eyes, and make your way to the front exit past all the tearful reunions and chattering of various languages around you.
  20. >After getting some more thanks for serving the nation, and a few handshakes, you finally get outside, and look around.
  21. "Where is she?"
  22. >You see countless Taxis, and people loading, or unloading, but not your "taxi".
  23. >HHHOOOONK HOOOOONK.
  24. >You look towards the loud horn blaring.
  25. "Is that her?"
  26. >You walk towards a white car with a huge smile, as the front door window rolls down.
  27. >Inside is....?
  28. >A bearded man sits behind the drivers seat.
  29. >"Are you Carlos?"
  30. "....Uh-no..."
  31. >He rudely rolls the window back up, and pulls off leaving you feeling embarrassed as hell.
  32.
  33. >You face palm, doing your best to hide your reddened mug.
  34. >"Che due palle! That was some epic cringe."
  35. >Someone next to you nudges you with their arm.
  36. "Tell me about it. I thought that was your car-"
  37. >Wait. You look to the stranger with big eyes.
  38. >A young woman stands next to you, clad in a red and black striped top, with a black skirt to compliment the ensemble.
  39. >She grins widely, rocking on her heels.
  40. "Sunflower...? Is that you?"
  41. >"Who else would it be silly?"
  42. >You drop your bag, and wrap her up in a boa constrictor hug.
  43. "Mia sorella! Mi sei mancato così tanto!!"
  44. >"Ack....you're crushing me Fratello..."
  45. >She pats your back, while struggling to breathe.
  46. >Releasing the hug, you lift her up under her arms with your impressive, army trained strength, and twirl her around.
  47. >"Anon, stop! I'm wearing a skirt!"
  48. "Oh! R-right."
  49. >You promptly put her down, instead taking her hands in yours.
  50. >"Christ, Brother. They really hammered you into a lump of iron, huh?"
  51. >Your big sister squeezes your right bicep muscle.
  52. "They refined that violent little punk into a killing machine."
  53. >Sunflower giggles, cocking an eyebrow.
  54. >"I don't know if that's a good thing. In any case, let me take your bag for you! I'm parked just over there-"
  55. >She tries to take your bag, but you pull it away from her.
  56. "Uh...let me carry that."
  57. >"Why? Got some dirty mags hidden in there you don't want me to see~?"
  58. >She tries to take the bag again, but nearly falls over, trying to lift it.
  59. >"Actually...I'll let you handle this one."
  60. "Told ya."
  61. >"Nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh-"
  62. >She mocks you making a talking mouth with her left hand.
  63. >"Anyway, come on. I'm parked over there."
  64. >She can barely hide her excitement, as she childishly skips to a parked white van.
  65. "And I'm the little brother?"
  66. >You chuckle, shaking your head, and follow Sunflower.
  67. >Once packed up, you get into the front seat, and look in the back seat.
  68. "....?"
  69. >"What is it?"
  70. "I remember having 2 sisters. Did you eat the other one?"
  71.
  72. >"Uh..heh...Babs is..."
  73. "Is what?"
  74. >Sunflower looks at the wheel, with downcast eyes.
  75. >"She-She's at home! Waiting to see you! She's super excited!"
  76. >You look at Sunflower unconvinced.
  77. >"Come on, don't look at me like that. Someone had to stay home, and watch the house..."
  78. >You stop with the interrogating look, and lean back in your seat.
  79. "Right. You two are still living in the old home, right?"
  80. >She pulls off after stiffly pulling the lever to take the car out of park.
  81. >"Of course we do. We can't just up and leave. That place holds too many memories for all of us."
  82. "Even though, mama is..."
  83. >"....."
  84. "....."
  85. >An uncomfortable silence passes inside the car.
  86. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up. It hasn't even been that long after all."
  87. >"It hit us all hard, brother, but we'll make it through this momento difficile."
  88. >You smile at Sunflower.
  89. >She's gotten so strong since you've been gone.
  90. "Your Italiano is pretty good. You still mix it with English though."
  91. >"You do the same!"
  92. >The rest of the way was spent telling her about the flight back home, and all the people in the terminal giving you props for being a soldier, until you finally reached the city. Specifically, the Italiano ghetto, "Little Sicitaly".
  93. >It all looks the same. The same corner store where you used to get stale noodles half off from the owner, Mr. Rella. The same worn out playground where the greasers hung out. The same dusty lot you'd fight off the local bullies who would pick on your sisters.
  94. "Nothing has changed, huh."
  95. >"That's not true."
  96. >You look to Sunflower, who looks at you smiling.
  97. >"Hai cambiato, haven't you?"
  98. "....I suppose. We'll have to see."
  99. >"Nonsense. You're just hungry for a good home-cooked meal!"
  100. "Oh? You've graduated from burning ice water?"
  101. >"EEE!! A fanabla!"
  102. >She manages to push you slightly with an arm.
  103. >Not too long after she pulls up alongside the curb in front of a worn down building.
  104. >"Here we are Fratello. Home sweet home."
  105. "(quello che una discarica)."
  106.
  107. >"I heard that."
  108. >You give her a cheeky grin.
  109. >"Anyway, get out, and get upstairs. I'm sure you're exhausted!"
  110. "I am, but I'm willing to stay awake to see what culinary masterpiece you're going to whip up."
  111. >"Well look who's become sweeter? Strange considering you were in the military."
  112. >You get out the van, and head to the back, retrieving your heavy bag from the trunk.
  113. >Sunflower stands by the doorway, hands on her hips.
  114. >"Hurry soldier boy! Hup hup!"
  115. >She marches in place theatrically, before going inside.
  116. >You head to the doorway, but you can feel eyes watching you from all around.
  117. >Inside the building it's humid, and reeks of musk. It's nostalgic though, and sets you at ease.
  118. >Many sunny days, the three of you would barrel down the stairs to play outside. Now the laughter of children or an Italiano LP playing from a neighbors apartment booming from behind closed doors is severely lacking.
  119. >It was a hard place to live, but the Italian people were always lively, and full of energy.
  120. >You get to the 3rd floor, and find Sunflower waiting by the door.
  121. >"Your room sire."
  122. >She mock bows.
  123. >You roll your eyes, and head inside.
  124. "Wow. You've made some improvements."
  125. >You look around.
  126. >Sunflower and Babs have upgraded the once, brown and dingy furniture with moderately new things.
  127. "You two are doing well for yourself!"
  128. >She closes the door.
  129. >"It's because of you, and your money. We found a nice secondhand store that had some pretty neat things!"
  130. >You sit the bad down in the corner of the kitchen, and clap your hands together.
  131. "So! Where's Babs?"
  132. >Sunflower grows quiet.
  133. >"I-I'm sure she's around here somewhere...."
  134. >You look at Sunflower with that same suspicious look again.
  135. "Mia sorella...What aren't you telling me?"
  136. >"....."
  137. >She just looks down.
  138. >Narrowing your eyes, you head into the living room, and looks in the back rooms, seeing no one.
  139. >A thing you did notice is the Ashtray, and the many butts inside.
  140. "Sunflower. When did you start smoking?"
  141.
  142. >"Ah! Those aren't-"
  143. >Before she can finish, the door flies open.
  144. >Another young woman, stomps in, hands shoved into her pockets, flipping her hair to the side.
  145. >"Babs! You're home! Where were you?"
  146. >"I went out to get some smokes. Cazzo Madre di Dio! Are you gonna ride my ass on this too?"
  147. >Wow. That's Babs?!
  148. >She takes a red pack from her pocket, pounding it against the palm of her hand.
  149. >"I don't want to hear shit about smoking in the house either! You don't stop Giovanni from doing it, and-"
  150. >Sunflower grabs Babs by the shoulders, and forcefully turns her towards you.
  151. >Babs is about to get angry from the rough treatment, but her harsh glare quickly softens.
  152. >"An-Anon...."
  153. >You give her a smile as big as the one you gave Sunflower. No need for words right now. You just outstretch your arms.
  154. >She drops the tobacco to the ground, and practically leaps into your arms.
  155. >"ANON! ANON ANON ANON ANON-"
  156. "Whoa! Settle dowm!"
  157. >Sunflower crosses her arms with a smile.
  158. >"Says the guy with the python hugs."
  159. >Babs buries her head in your neck, blubbering like a little kid. RIP Shirt.
  160. >"Bwaaaghghhh...blaagggh...blaaaaaa-"
  161. "Ew. Are you crying or sumoning the anti-christ?"
  162. >Babs lets you go, lightly punching your chest, and wiping her eyes.
  163. >"Bacha ma culo! No one told me you were coming home today...."
  164. >"Pretty sure I did. You just weren't listening. As usual...."
  165. >Babs looks over her shoulder with a venomous glare.
  166. >"It must've been when you were busy gobbling down that Cazzo di merda's smelly di-"
  167. >Sunflower's jaw drops in shock.
  168. >"Cazzo si!"
  169. >"CAZZO SI!"
  170. "Whoa! Whoa! Calm down! What happened to the happy atmosphere?"
  171. >The two sisters glare at each other, before looking away ashamedly.
  172. >"Perdonami fratello...."
  173. >"Y-yeah. Me too."
  174. >It's obvious there's something going on here, but for now you just want to catch up with your big sister, and little sister. Any family drama can wait until after dinner.
  175. >Assuming you live through Sunflower's cooking.
  176.
  177. >You sit at the table, trying to get a glimpse of what Sunflower is actually doing over on the stove.
  178. >Babs leans back in her chair, playing with her hair across from you.
  179. "Hey...what's she cooking?"
  180. >"You'll see."
  181. >You gulp audibly.
  182. "Should I be worried?"
  183. >"You'll see~"
  184. >Babs smirks mischievously.
  185. >Putting aside the mystery of the possibility that Sunflower is over there performing alchemy, you turn your attention to the table itself.
  186. >It's the table from your childhood. The very same table that you all would spend so many evenings praying, and eating together with Mama, and your sisters. You run your fingers over the withered wood, feeling both joy, and regret all at once.
  187. >You hope Mama can forgive you from Heaven.
  188. >"Hey...what are you thinking?"
  189. >You look up to Babs, who's leaning forward with folded hands.
  190. "It's nothing. Don't worry about it."
  191. >"Aw come on! You can't just make a face like that, and tell me it's nothing."
  192. >She stares at you with those big green orbs of hers. Just like she would as a little girl. Not even the army could prepare you for that onslaught.
  193. "Uh...I-"
  194. >"Ora di cena!"
  195. >Saved by the Sunflower-
  196. >She puts a bubbling pot on the table. It smells...There is no smell. What is this?
  197. >Sunflower immediately begins making servings for you, and Babs, but what she served you is quite the mystery.
  198. >You look at the bowl of goo.
  199. "....I didn't think we'd be eating oatmeal this late in the day."
  200. >"PFFFT-"
  201. >Babs covers her mouth to keep from laughing.
  202. >Sunflower glares at you with puffed out cheeks.
  203. >"Bastardo...It's Risotto!"
  204. >It's-
  205. >You look at her, then back at the bowl. Then back at her again.
  206. "Uh...Actually I have some leftover MRE in my bag that I should probably polish off so they don't go to waste..."
  207. >"You're so mean!"
  208. >She starts to beat on you with her little fists. You can't help but laugh. It feels so good to be able to tease her again.
  209.
  210. "Alright! Alright! I'm sorry! I'm a Cretino! I'll eat! I'll eat!"
  211. >She ceases her beat down of your arms, and finally sits down, with crossed arms.
  212. >"Your charming Sorella, cooks a home cooked-meal, and all you do is make fun of her! Bestemmia! Eresia!"
  213. >Babs turns the mush around with her spoon.
  214. >"So it's only gonna be us three? Not gonna set the table for that other guy?"
  215. >Sunflower shoots her a sharp scowl.
  216. >"Please Babs. Anon is finally home. Can we put that to the side for just a little bit?"
  217. >This isn't the first time this guy has been mentioned. Judging from Sunflower's reaction, something has been happening they're not telling you about, but now isn't the time to play detective.
  218. >The two stare at each other for a brief moment.
  219. >"Fine..."
  220. >Sunflower releases a gasp, and picks up her utensil.
  221. "Wait. Stop!"
  222. >Your outburst freezes both Babs, and Sunflower who are in the middle of putting spoonfuls of this concoction into their mouths.
  223. "Are you two serious right now? What happened to saying grace?"
  224. >The two Sisters blink absently at first.
  225. >"Oh...Ohhhh!"
  226. >"I completely f-forgot...haha..."
  227. "Really now..."
  228. >The three of you put your hands together.
  229. "Go ahead, and lead us into it Sunny."
  230. >"....U-uh...I couldn't! That honor should go to the man here! R-right babs?"
  231. >"Absolutely! It's all yours!"
  232. >Do these two even remember mama's prayer-
  233. "I guess I should then.Benedici, Signore, noi e questi tuoi doni, che stiamo per ricevere dalla tua generosità. Per Cristo nostro Signore. Amen."
  234. >Mama practically made you rehearse it in your sleep. You don't recall a day that you never said it before eating.
  235. >As dinner starts, there's a silence between all three of you. Each thinking on the past no doubt. The quiet is broken by your little sister.
  236. >"It's hard to believe that she's gone sometimes. It still doesn't feel right with just us three at the table."
  237. >"I know. I still expect her to come through that door, exhausted and muttering swears under her breath! Haha.."
  238.
  239. "I didn't make things any easier on her with my Cazzata, I'm sure."
  240. >Babs practically jumps up.
  241. >"Don't say that! You were only protecting us! You were always protecting us..."
  242. >"...."
  243. "...."
  244. >Babs slowly sits down, leaning back in her seat like before, blowing her hair out of her eyes.
  245. >"Dio cane. We haven't been together in 4 years, and all that's happened is reminiscing bad memories."
  246. "I wouldn't say that Sorella. It's nice to always remember the past. Helps to remind one how they became who they are."
  247. >"Maybe if you became someone good."
  248. "I'm not beating anyone up, am I?"
  249. >"Maybe you just haven't had a reason to yet."
  250. >Babs glances at Sunflower.
  251. "In any case, how many of the kids from before are still around?"
  252. >Sunflower sighs.
  253. >"I haven't kept up with them. They were such Culos to us, I never bothered. I just stay home most days, and keep to myself."
  254. "Whaaat? Folle! A beautiful girl like you keeping those looks chained up inside this little box? Actually, maybe that's good. I don't want to have to beat the boys back with my combat training techniques."
  255. >You make kung fu hand gestures.
  256. >Sunflower blushes with a small chuckle.
  257. >"You think I'm beautiful...?"
  258. "Assolutamente bello!"
  259. >She moves a strand of her hair to the side, looking down embarrassed.
  260. >"...."
  261. >Babs pouts, crossing her arms.
  262. "O-Of course you're a Bellezza too little sister! Both of you are the flowers of Little Sicitaly!"
  263. >"That's better."
  264. >Babs smiles with a cocked eyebrow.
  265. >That was close. Italian men are the most charming with their words after all!
  266. >The rest of the evening the three of you joked, and talked about how things were as kids. Not everything of course. There's some boxes that shouldn't be opened just yet.
  267. >Managing to down Sunflowers thick, and Oatmeal-like Risotto, you retired to the balcony. Night had crept upon your little area of the city before you knew it. Time really does fly.
  268.
  269. >You lean on the steel railing, observing the residents, who are either on their balconies as well, or talking outside near the building doorways. As a kid it would be filled people, singing and dancing. Old man Battorga would have his accordion out, and there were lamps light around, providing a dim, yet attractive light.
  270. >"It's pretty sad, right?"
  271. >Babs comes up from behind onto the balcony, leaning against the wall.
  272. >"Remember how we'd sit and watch everyone dancing to music down there? It was so cool. Watching them all twirl, and spin like that without falling down. Dio sa I couldn't do it without getting dizzy."
  273. >Pap Pap Pap.
  274. >She starts pounding the pack of Cigarettes from earlier on her hand again, taking one out with her mouth.
  275. >You look back at her from over your shoulder, as she lights it up.
  276. >"What? You want one?"
  277. "I don't smoke anymore."
  278. >Babs shrugs.
  279. "When did you start though?"
  280. >Babs takes it from her lips, blowing out a cloud of smoke.
  281. >"I'd say, right after you got sent off to the army."
  282. "Smoking at 14? Did Mama ever catch you?"
  283. >She rests her hand on right arm, taking another puff.
  284. >"A couple times."
  285. >You shake your head.
  286. "Where did you do it at?"
  287. >"Behind the school. The bathrooms. You know. The usual places. Just like you used to."
  288. "Yeah, I wasn't a very good brother, huh?"
  289. >"Cazzo Si. You were the coolest person alive to me. I took it up because you did it."
  290. >You look down, and smile.
  291. >She just says things without a hint of hesitation, huh? Not the example you wanted to set for a younger sibling, but the thought of knowing they think you're "cool" makes you feel really happy.
  292. "If you say so. You should stop though. Those things will kill you."
  293. >"....Maybe."
  294. "So how has School been? You turn 18 this year, right? About time to graduate!"
  295. >"......"
  296. "......?"
  297. >You look back at her again.
  298. "Babs?"
  299. >".......It's fine."
  300. ".....?"
  301. >She looks away.
  302. >"Anyway, enough about me. Let's talk about your army stories, super soldato!"
  303.
  304. >You yawn, and stretch.
  305. "Actually, can it wait? I think I'm feeling the Jet Lag kicking in."
  306. >"Awww. You can't stay up longer?"
  307. >You pat her head.
  308. "I'll tell you everything tomorrow, when you get home from School. Okay? You should be getting to bed too. IT's a school night after all."
  309. >"....Sure."
  310. >She just looks away, hugging her arms.
  311. >You leave Babs on the balcony, and head back inside. Sunflower is on the couch watching TV, with her legs pulled in.
  312. >You sit on the opposite end, half laying down.
  313. >"Hey! What are you doing! Don't sleep here!"
  314. "Yeah....I'll take the trash out in the morning..."
  315. >"What?"
  316. >You were more tired than you thought. Having finally settled down, the exhaustion of the day engulfs your consciousness.
  317. >A mere sofa never felt so comfortable right now.
  318. >"Come fastidioso...."
  319. >The sounds of the Television played in your dreams as vivid colors, like a swirling storm. Vibrant, and intense shades of red, and orange ,melding together like a torrent before you.
  320. >You wake up briefly.
  321. >"-ell him? You can't keep it hidden forever!"
  322. >"I know! I know! I just...It'll be okay. He's just gonna be here for a few days and then-"
  323. >You doze off once more.
  324. >BANG.
  325. "Cavolo! Are we under attack?!"
  326. >You jolt up, flinging the blanket on you off, and leaping to your feet.
  327. >Sunflower stares at you from the kitchen with a big pot in her hands.
  328. >"Oh...I'm sorry Brother. I didn't mean to make so much noise..."
  329. >Seeing it was just her, you sit back down, catching your breath. You nearly had a heart attack.
  330. "What time is it?"
  331. >"About a quarter past 10. Did you sleep well?"
  332. "As well as to be expected."
  333. >For sleeping on a sofa at least.
  334. >You finally stand up, and join Sunny in the kitchen.
  335. >"I tried to wake you up, and get you into a proper bed, but you're like a stone!"
  336. >She giggles while taking eggs from the fridge.
  337. >"Are you hungry? I'm making eggs."
  338. >You remember the "Risottoatmel" from last night, and are about to say something snide.
  339.
  340. >A look of Suspicion from Sunflower stops that idea cold however.
  341. "S-sure! That sounds Grande!"
  342. >She snorts, turning back to the stove.
  343. >Now that you've had time to settle in somewhat, you figure it's a good time to be brought up to speed about what's been happening-
  344. >"Fratello."
  345. "Hm?"
  346. >Sunflower keeps her back to you while speaking.
  347. >"How long do you plan to stay for?"
  348. "That's a good question. I was thinking maybe a week or so, before I go back."
  349. >"....I see."
  350. >She keeps her attention on the stove.
  351. "Sunflower...Is there something wrong?"
  352. >"...."
  353. "Sunny."
  354. >She turns around with a forced smile.
  355. >"There's nothing wrong! You have other things to worry about, yes? Just focus on enjoying your visit!"
  356. "...."
  357. >Just like Babs. They're hiding something from you. You're not an Idiota.
  358. "Sunflower."
  359. >She sits a plate down in front of you, joining you at the table.
  360. "Sunflower! Speak to me."
  361. >She ignores you, settling into her chair.
  362. >"So shall we say grace?"
  363. "Sunflower!"
  364. >TUNK
  365. >She hammers her fist down onto the old table.
  366. >Her eyes are watering up.
  367. >"Anon. Please....just...just enjoy your visit. Okay? For your older sister?"
  368. >You run a hand over your face, and sigh.
  369. "Fine."
  370. >Of course, you're only retreating for this one moment. ITs even more clear, more than ever that something is going on, but any further prodding will just make her shut down.
  371. >You both eat in silence.
  372. >"So...what are you doing today? Hanging around home?"
  373. >You wipe your mouth with a napkin, and clear your throat.
  374. "I'm actually planning to go see mama's grave. I've been gone too long, and I'm sure she wants to hear what I've been up to."
  375. >Sunny smiles.
  376. >"I think that's a good idea."
  377. "What about you?"
  378. >She rubs her arms, looking down.
  379. >"I have to...go to work."
  380. "Oh? I didn't know you had a job."
  381. >She forces a chuckle.
  382. >"S-someone has to keep this place going, right? Taking money from you can only go so far."
  383. "I suppose so, but I don't mind helping."
  384.
  385. >She puts her hand on yours.
  386. >"You're so sweet Fratello, but we can't let you protect us forever. It wouldn't be right or fair."
  387. >Even if it's what you want to do?
  388. >She gives your hand a squeeze, and rises from her seat.
  389. >"You better get going. I'm going to wash these dishes before I leave. You remember the area, right?"
  390. "I think so. Things can't have changed that much, right?"
  391. >You get up, and stretch once more.
  392. >Leaving Sunflower to the kitchen, you shower, shave, and change out of your fatigues from yesterday.
  393. >You pass Sunflower, and peck her on the cheek, before heading out.
  394. >In a movie, the main character would see transparent versions of himself as a kid, running up and down the stairs. Imagine seeing something like that. It'd actually be kind of cool.
  395. >Outside, you start down the street at a leisurely stroll, taking in familiar scenery.
  396. >You stop in front of a familiar lot. It used to be where you played baseball wit the other kids. You also busted Little Rav Eolee's nose here after he stole Babs stuffed doll. They called you crazy for that. Mama was so stressed out. It seemed like each day you were in another fight. Be it because someone was bullying your sisters, or some fat faccia a culo figlio di puttana who wanted to disrespect you to make himself look tough.
  397. >You keep walking.
  398. >The streets are so desolate. Save for one or two miserable looking people dragging themselves along as if on autopilot.
  399. >You see some kids writing graffiti on the side of a Liquor store.
  400. >That's where you first started smoking. You recall, you were with your one friend. A black kid from another part of the hood. His name was "Moolie". At least that's what you called him. You learned later on as an adult what that word meant. You wish you could apologize to him.
  401. >You finally get to the cemetery. The one place that has remained untouched by the rest of society. Say what you will about the people of the world, we all respect the dead. Especially the Italiano.
  402.
  403. >You look around.
  404. >There's no groundskeeper around. Actually, looking at the overflowing foliage it must not have been looked over for quite some time.
  405. >Looks like you're on your own.
  406. >You walk, while watching the grass. You'd hate to step on a rat, or get bitten by a snake. You hate snakes. Eugh.
  407. >Sunflower sent you a picture of the gravestone, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find, considering you paid so much to have her put into a tomb.
  408. >Wait. Didn't you pass this cross-shaped tombstone already?
  409. "Whoo boy."
  410. >You keep looking, kicking over a bottle of Nastro Azzurro.
  411. "Really? You should be sipping the finest wine in remembrance of your loved ones! Not corner store swill!"
  412. >clink~
  413. >You heard something. It sounded like Glass on stone.
  414. >"-aaa. gabb-jkka surall-"
  415. >There's people talking, but they're talking so gently it comes out as gibberish.
  416. >It could be the groundskeeper. You decided to head towards the voices.
  417. >"-me another one! It's a scorcher out here!"
  418. >"You've had enough Vito. Don't want you puking all over the place. Again."
  419. >You round a corner, and find three boys, about Babs age perched out in front of your mother's tomb.
  420. >Empty bottles of beer lay littered about their feet.
  421. >You stare at them in shock.
  422. >One of the kids sitting on the step, taps his friend, leaning against the vase-like decoration with his bottle.
  423. >He motions to you with his head.
  424. >They all get up slowly, and approach you with the toughest expressions they can.
  425. >One gets in your face.
  426. >"Chi cazzo sei, huh? This place is off-limits! Vuoi farti battere il?"
  427. >ignoring their questions, you just look around at all the trash around your mother's place of burial.
  428. >"Are you deaf? We're talking to you Pezzo di merda!"
  429. >"Maybe he's retardo? You retardo, Rottinculo pompinara? This area belongs to the Little Sicitaly Crushers!"
  430. >You pick up one of the empty bottles.
  431. "....."
  432. >"What's wrong? You thirst-"
  433. >KREESH-
  434. >You just smashed the bottle over the head of the one kid in your face.
