Tribes Researcher


                                            >The following is an abbreviated report on the different tribes in Equestria

                                            >Tribes detailed are: Earth, Unicorn, Pegasus, Kirin, and Bat.

                                            >Information was collected by observation and integration in their tribes for at the minimum one months worth of time

                                            >Research has not submitted to the Royal Canterlot archives.

                                            EARTH PONY

                                            >Population: Easily the most numerous tribe on this planet.  If you encounter a pony then you most likely encountered an Earth Pony.  Their high fertility rates correspond with their closeness to nature.  The Mare to Stallion ratio is 3:1.

                                            >Size: Stallions on average are taller and heavier than the Mare.  The variance of Earth Ponies is the most radical of all of the tribes.   Physically the strongest of all tribes.

                                            >Racial Traits: Magic related to the growth of plant matter.  Strength unmatched by other tribes.  Theorized their genes will overwrite those of all other tribe pairings.

                                            > Sexual Characteristics:  Stallions are on average more dominant over Mares.  Largest teats and testes compared to other tribes.  Estrus cycles are dangerous in high Mare and low Stallion density areas.  Earth Ponies are not observed to be picky about which tribes to mate.


                                            UNICORN PONY

                                            >Population: The second smallest tribe.  The stand out of all the integrated tribes.  Unicorn have low fertility rates, speculated due to their reliance on arcane magic which reduces natural impulses.  The Mare to Stallion ratio is 3:2.

                                            >Size: Stallions on average are taller and heavier than the Mare.  Unicorns have the smallest variation of all tribes.  Mares will be found to be within a few inches in adulthood, Stallions are the same.  Unicorns are also almost universally lighter than all with exception to the Pegasus.  Tall and lithe is the unicorn normalcy.  Physically the weakest of all tribes.

                                            >Racial Traits:  Arcane Magic allowing their ability over all elements given the determination, intelligence, and natural magic reservoir of the Unicorn.  Symmetrical horns.

                                            > Sexual Characteristics: There is no dominant sex.  Unicorns use magic and clothing to hide testes and teats.  Not enough sample data to determine relative differences to other tribes.  Unicorns are observed to keep mates with non-Unicorns as a rare exception.


                                            PEGASUS PONY

                                            >Population: The average of all tribe sized ponies.  Pegasus are highly visible due to their constant flying and natural tendency to stick close to clouds.  Pegasus have high fertility rates, and have avoided most culling by non-pony species due to their ability to nest in clouds.  The Mare to Stallion ratio is 2:1.

                                            >Size: Stallions on average are taller and heavier than the Mare.  Pegasus are naturally lighter than all other tribes due to their thinner bone structure.  Some variance can be seen with Pegasus that may have descended from mixed tribe parents.  Physically the mid strength of all tribes.

                                            >Racial Traits:  Domination of the air during the day at the most skyward of heights.  Ability to fully manipulate clouds allowing weather control.  Ability to fly at high speeds given the endurance and strength of the flyer.

                                            > Sexual Characteristics:  Stallions are slightly more dominant than Mares.  Pegasus use clothing and other methods to reduce the wind drag caused by testes and teats.  Estimated to have the smaller of the teats and testes of the tribes.  During estrus Mares (and some Stallions) have been observed abducting Stallions (and some mares).  Pegasus are not picky with other tribes as long as they can pick them up in flight.


                                            KIRIN PONY

                                            >Population: Easily the smallest tribe on this planet.  It is rare to meet a Kirin outside of their territorial areas.  Kirin are gregarious enough to have a large population. Kirin are the only non-integrated tribe.  It is speculated that non-pony species have culled the Kirin Pony tribe’s population numerous times throughout their existence.  The Mare to Stallion ratio is 1:1.

                                            >Size:  Mares on average are taller and heavier than the Stallion.  From observation the majority of Kirin differentiate in weight and size very little in their sexes.  Kirin are the second heaviest tribe due to their closeness to nature.  Physically the second weakest of all tribes.

                                            >Racial Traits: Magic also related to the growth of plant matter with limited telekinesis.  Cursed with the ability to burst into flames when negative emotions become too severe to the Kirin.  The largest tufts of all tribes, tufts on the aft legs.  Irregular horns compared to unicorns.

                                            > Sexual Characteristics: Mares are the dominant sex.  Stallions are very submissive to Mares.  Stallions are prone to cuddling with all other Stallions.  Mares harvest Stallions from cuddle piles.  Stallions have tufts above their sheaths, Mares have tufts above their teats.  Have close to the teat and teste size of Earth Ponies.  Could not be observed picking mates from other tribes, does not indicate a reservation against taking other tribes.


                                            BAT PONY

                                            >Population:  The middle of the tribes populated.  Although one would think they are the smallest tribe, this thought is usually presented by those who observe the night.  Bat Pony populations are heaviest near the coasts where caves are plenty.  Their integration into the Earth-Unicorn-Pegasus population has only occurred within the last 40 years. Given time, and their gregarious nature, their population is likely to explode to the point where they could dwarf the Earth Pony.  The Mare to Stallion ratio is 3:1.

                                            >Size: Stallions and Mares are seen on average being near equal in height and weight.  The tribe weighted in the middle.  Their wingspan is on average larger than the Pegasus.  Physically the second strongest of all tribes.

                                            >Racial Traits:  Dominance of the lower sky during the nights.  While not close to the speed of the Pegasus, their agility easily surpasses that of the Pegasus.  Natural aggressive, fangs that can pierce arteries, echo location ability have enabled this tribe as a natural guardian against non-pony species.

                                            > Sexual Characteristics: Mares are the dominant sex. Teats and testes are middle sized in the tribes. Their aggressiveness also bleeds into their gregarious nature.  It is assumed that they have a small estrus cycle that occurs every month.  Will take other tribes when opposite sex Bat Ponies are in low numbers.
