  4. >you had something you’ve been waiting to tell her

  6. >applebloom tilts her head
  7. >”yeah, what’s up AJ?”
  8. >here goes nothing
  9. “I wanna apologize…”
  10. “When i got back from the crystal empire, i freaked out at you and it wasn’t right”
  11. “You didn’t do nothin’ wrong and I was so worried about anon and big mac”
  12. “And when i yelled at you again when you finally got to see anon…”
  13. “But there ain’t any excuse for how i treated you… i’m really sorry for yelling at you like that…”
  14. >applebloom looks at you in confusion
  15. >she talks very softly
  16. >”aj, we’ve both had a rough few weeks”
  17. >”I was just as scared when anon and big mac were missing as you were”
  18. >”and i don’t blame you one bit”
  19. >she hugs you tightly
  20. >”I’m just so glad things can go back to normal soon”
  21. >she hugs you even tighter
  22. >she starts to cry
  23. >”I, I just really missed you all so much…”
  24. >the two of you hold your embrace
  25. “Applebloom, once anons all better how about we have a big ol’ picnic by the lake?”

  30. >after another hour of waiting the doctor came back with some news
  31. >”although we don’t fully understand this illness, judging by his condition now compared to what he told us happened before it’s likely he’s already been through the worst of it”
  32. >”we expect a speedy recovery, he should be home by tomorrow”
  33. >home by tomorrow…
  34. >this is the best news you’ve heard for a while
  35. >you can hardly contain your excitement
  36. >but before you can say anything the doctor had one more thing to say
  37. >”shining, can i talk to you for a moment?”
  38. >shining armour nods and walks off with him

  40. >by the time you came back you were itching to ask the doctor if you could see anon
  41. >he gave you a smile and gestured you to go in
  42. >you, big mac, and applebloom made your way inside
  43. >you gently open the door to see anon in the dark room on the hospital bed
  44. >he’s awake but you can tell he’s quite tired
  45. >you keep your voice low as you speak

  49. “Anon… you feelin’ okay?”
  50. >he gave you a smile but hardly moved
  51. >”aj? Big mac? Applebloom?”
  52. >his voice was soft
  53. >you could tell he was recovering from everything that had happened
  54. >”I can’t tell you how happy i am to see you all again…”
  55. >the room felt warm
  56. >you nudged applebloom, signalling her to finally give anon the hug she meant to when she first saw him again
  57. >she jumped up on his hospital bed and rolled on top of him only to stop when she laid on her back
  58. >she looked at anon upside down and asked him
  59. >”so what happened while you were gone?”
  60. >at first you felt the question to be too much for right now
  61. >but the way anon went about describing it was more like a beautiful story of adventure than the truly terrifying one it was
  62. >he described everything that had happened seemingly leaving out his involvement
  63. >he described king sombras fall as something that just happened take place rather than telling of his exploits
  64. >the scenes he would build with his words were wonderful
  65. >he told his story as if he were nothing more than a witness to it all
  66. >he talked about what the crystal empire was like without the ponies there
  67. >he told us that even the princess of the crystal empire kept our zap apple jam stocked up in their kitchen
  68. >it was amazing how anon could turn the story of his struggles into a seemingly innocent story
  69. >by the time he finished the doctor came in to quietly let us know the hospital would be closing soon
  70. >as you said your goodbyes the three of you made your way to the door
  71. >but as big mac and applebloom went through you found it difficult to push yourself through the doorway
  72. “You go on now, i’ve got to talk with anon alone for a moment…”
  73. >big mac lead applebloom out while you shut the door behind them
  74. >you turned to anon
  75. >the both of you were silent
  76. >you looked at each other wordlessly for a moment
  77. >you broke eye contact as you made your way up on to his hospital bed
  78. >once you were up on it, you looked into his eyes as you stood above him

  83. >neither of you speak as you relish in the feeling of being with him again
  84. >you could feel his heartbeat with you being so close to his chest
  85. >every breathe you push out grazes his neck
  86. >you’ve missed this feeling so much
  87. >your front hooves are slumped over his shoulders
  88. >it feels like your finally holding him again
  89. >you can feel his chest rise and fall as he breathes
  90. >the rhythm is comforting
  91. >you remember the doctor telling you the hospital would close soon
  92. >but you couldn’t even try to pull yourself off of him
  93. >you wanted to stay too much
  94. >it felt as if you were glued to him
  95. >with the silence between you two, it seemed he fell asleep
  96. >a part of you hopes it was you who helped him relax into his rest
  97. >you have so much to talk to him about tomorrow
  98.

  100. >the next morning you and applejack were woken up by the doctor coming in
  101. >”applejack? How did you get in here? I thought you had left last night?”
  102. >she twists her head to face him before realizing what happened
  103. >she accidentally fell asleep on you last night
  104. >there was no way for her to properly explain why she was there so she just mumbled and stuttered while looking off to the side
  105. >it was adorable
  106. >”you’re lucky visting hours just started, otherwise i would have to escort you out…”
  107. >and with that the doctor left
  108. >you and applejack turn to face each other
  109. >you were silent as you looked in each others eyes for a while
  110. “It’s so nice to finally see you again aj…”
  111. >your words were quiet but they felt heavy
  112. >she started sniffling and tearing up
  113. >”i’ve missed you so much more than you can possibly know anon…”
  114. >she shuts her eyes tightly and hugs you
  115. >she presses her face into your neck and caressed you with her muzzle
  116. >you felt like you were in heaven
  117. >to finally feel her embrace again
  118. >but while she embraced you she said something that pulled you out of the comforting feeling
  119. >in between sniffles she spoke
  120. >”cadence told me everything…”
  121. >she held onto you tighter
  122. >”anon… when you were chased by those timberwolves and pinkie told me what happened i was so worried”
  123. >”I wanted you to feel safe…”
  124. >”i did have good intentions when i asked you to move into my room i promise”
  125. >”but when you were there it felt different…”
  126. >”I really wanted you to need me”

  128. >”i enjoyed having you closer to me”

  130. >”i hated that i could never tell you how i felt, that i had to wait until something bad had happened to you for me to express it without you knowing”

  135. >her words felt as if your feelings for her were mutual
  136. >but the pain it brought her to hold them back were similar to your own
  137. >you were so happy to hear how she felt about you
  138. >but the last part felt heart wrenching to hear
  139. >”and when cadence told me everything that you did all on your own…”
  140. >”i felt like you would never need me again…”
  141. >you were both desperate for each other and never even realized it
  142. >before she could break down in tears you pulled her up closer to you

  149. >she bobbed her head up and down very slightly as she pressed deeper into the kiss, only to back off the tiniest bit to relish in pressing against you once more
  150. >both of you expressed your desperation for each other in it
  151. >the feeling was so serene it made you feel weak
  152. >she could feel your embrace loosen as the her passion for you over powered your ability to match it
  153. >she eased off a moment and whispered lovingly to you
  154. >”relax…”
  155. >”let me spoil you sweet heart…”
  156. >her words only added to your love induced weakness
  157. >you let yourself sink into the bed as she positioned herself above you
  158. >she presses her face back against yours leaving her to do all of the work
  159. >as her lips have their way with yours she makes small motions similar to before
  160. >the pressure against your face eased every trouble you’ve ever had
  161. >you let yourself lie motionless as she continued to show her love for you
  162. >every part of your body felt blissful
  163. >the wet noise her lips made against yours was a pleasant sound

  165. >after what felt like hours of her servicing you she releases herself from your lips
  166. >when you open your eyes to look at her she gives a small smile but looks to the side
  167. >”does this mean you still need me?”
  168. >her words were gentle
  169. “Aj, i know how you felt when you heard what cadence said”
  170. “But cadence doesn’t know the full story”

  173. “I couldn’t wait to get home and sleep in the same bed as you again”

  184. >the doctor and shining armour enter the room

  186. >”I need to check on anon before we can discharge him…”
  187. >the look on his face implied he needed to be alone for it
  188. >applejack took the hint and left

  190. >the doctor closed the door behind her before nodding to shining armour
  191. >something about this felt off
  192. >”anon, I want to thank you for everything you’ve done for equestria”
  193. >you personally didn’t feel like you did much for equestria
  194. >the compliment felt like an over statement
  195. “Well, you’re welcome, i guess…”
  196. >shining armour looked to be contemplating something
  197. >what the hell is going on
  198. >this didn’t feel like a check up
  199. >”anon, i want to talk about the changelings for a moment…”
  200. >hearing him say that reminded you of what you did back in canterlot
  201. >it seemed serious
  202. >the way he looked at you made it feel as if you did something wrong
  203. >was it the way you handled it?
  204. >cadence had you shoot at the swarm before landing in canterlot
  205. >he’s not going to tell you what you did was a war crime right?
  206. >”that invasion was the worst one canterlot has ever seen by them”
  207. >”changeling tactics are meant to demoralize when they’re on the defensive”
  208. >”anon, i know exactly what happened when you left canterlot”
  209. >”the changelings… they got to you didn’t they…”
  210. >he came closer to you
  211. >”listen to me closely anon, those changeling soldiers, they never felt fear…”
  212. >”they do this to manipulate their attackers”
  213. >”I promise you, you did nothing wrong in the slightest, they were attacking innocent civilians”
  214. >”trust me when i say this anon, they were trying to manipulate you into stopping you”
  215. >”I’ve dealt with changelings plenty of times before i can promise you what i am saying is true”
  216. >a wave of relief washes over you
  217. >your guilt about what happened in canterlot vanishes
  218. “Thank you, i really needed to hear that, uh, who are you exactly?”
  219. >”I’m shining armour, prince of the crystal empire, I’m sure you remember cadence right?”
  220. “Of course”
  221. >”I cannot thank you enough for everything you’ve done, cadence has filled me in on everything that happened”
  222. “So, when do you think i can head back home?”
  223. >shining looks to the ground and takes a deep breath
  224. >”I don’t think you’re going home for a while…”
  225. >you were confused
  226. “But, the doctor said-”
  227. >”it’s not about your illness”
  228. >”you’re cured, the illness wasn’t even compatible with you anyways, you’ve already done most of your healing before you even got here”
  229. “Then what the hell am i still doing here”
