  1. 1.
“Oh Luna, you don't know how happy it makes me to have you back.” Princess Celestia said.
  2. 2.

  3. 3.
Princess Luna looked up at her sister and saw the biggest smile she had seen in over a thousand years. It was so infectious that Princess Luna just had to smile back. It almost felt like a dream. Her, Princess Luna, sister to the throne of Equestria, finally back home...and smiling at her big sister.
  4. 4.

  5. 5.
“Tis good to be home, sister. We are most sorry for all our transgressions and the difficulties you must have endured for so long. Princess Luna replied.
  6. 6.

  7. 7.
Princess Celestia let out a little giggle. “Luna, relax! I know its been an extremely long time but you can drop the formalities. Right now, we're family trying to reconnect after a long time and a big mistake that I am to correct as soon as we get home to Canterlot.
  8. 8.

  9. 9.
Princess Luna bit her lip. “O-Of course! I...uh....heh. I'm glad to be back, Tia. I'm worry I made you worry for a thousand years.”
  10. 10.

  11. 11.
“That's more like it.” Princess Celestia said. She bent down and gave her sister a hug. “I know there will plenty to adjust to but I'm going to be right here with you. Anything you need from me, please don't hesitate to ask. Please...”
  12. 12.

  13. 13.
“...Absolutely, Celestia. I won't bottle up my feelings like that ever again.” Princess Luna replied.
  14. 14.

  15. 15.
“Thank you. Ohhh, I'm so excited to show you around. Canterlot has grown so much since you've been gone. Much of Equestria has, to be honest. Perhaps it might be a good time to take a little break and show you around.” Princess Celestia said.
  16. 16.

  17. 17.
“Would it be wise to abandon your duties to the throne so easily? I can't imagine the stress of doing it alone.” Princess Luna asked.
  18. 18.

  19. 19.
“It'll be fine. I have the best advisors and staff at the castle. They do so much of the work in advance that I'm more of a figurehead, nowadays. Of course, I still move the sun and the moon but that is one of the tasks I'd love to share with you once again.” Princess Celestia said.
  20. 20.

  21. 21.
“There's too much we missed out on together...I can't let anything get between us ever again.” She continued.
  22. 22.

  23. 23.
Princess Celestia pointed out of the flying carriage. “Luna, look! We're approaching Canterlot. Look at how much our lovely city has grown.”
  24. 24.

  25. 25.
Princess Luna turned around in awe. Indeed, the old city at the base of the mountain was gone and had been replaced with a spectacular city sitting on the side of the mountain. A vast city of nobles, powerful unicorns and the best of the best artisans of Equestria lived in Canterlot now. Princess Luna's eyes widened as she saw the sheer size of the royal palace.
  26. 26.

  27. 27.
“My goodness, Tia. You've been busy. Our little city has become a grand accomplishment....” Princess Luna said.
  28. 28.

  29. 29.
“I wanted to make sure you had a wonderful home to come back to. I'll show you to your room immediately as soon as we land.” Princess Celestia replied.
  30. 30.

  31. 31.
With Canterlot in sight, it didn't take long for the carriage ride to end. Princess Luna disembarked the carriage to see two ponies already waiting for them. One was an eager looking mare with a white coat and her mane tied up in a bun and the other was an old stallion with bushy eyebrows and a mustache.
  32. 32.

  33. 33.
“Ah, Raven Inkwell and Kibitz. My best advisors are already here to help.” Princess Celestia introduced her aides to Luna. “Raven is my general assistant and archivist and Kibitz is in charge of scheduling.”
  34. 34.

  35. 35.
“Am I to assume that we will be canceling most of our appointments today, Ma'am?” Kibitz immediately asked.
  36. 36.

  37. 37.
“I'm not sorry to say that yes, We will be canceling everything today for Luna's return to the castle.” Princess Celestia replied.
  38. 38.

  39. 39.
“Very good. I assume the usual celebration?” Kibitz asked.
  40. 40.

  41. 41.
“Yes, I think that would be lovely. A good chance for everypony to meet Luna after so long.” Princess Celestia said.
  42. 42.

  43. 43.
“Hmm...We haven't made a statue for Princess Luna yet...” Raven spoke up. “Time to take a few pictures for the crew.”
  44. 44.

  45. 45.
The unicorn closed her eyes and focused her magic. In a flash, a strange looking box was being shoved in Princess Luna's face.
  46. 46.

  47. 47.
“Say moon cheese!” Raven giggled before a bright flash blinded Luna. She did her best to blink it away but three more flashes caught Luna off guard.
  48. 48.

  49. 49.
“Celestia! Help! I'm under attack!” Princess Luna cried out as she shielded her eyes from further flashes.
  50. 50.

  51. 51.
The ponies giggled as Raven put away the box. “Oops. Sorry, Princess Luna. I guess there weren't cameras a thousand years ago. My apologies.”
  52. 52.

  53. 53.
When Princess Luna could see once more. She looked over at Raven Inkwell to see four small squares that had her image upon them. “Amazing...a device to capture a being's likeness without magical projection?”
  54. 54.

  55. 55.
“Like I said, there's a lot to catch up on. We'll take it as fast or as slow as you need to, but before we do anything else, let me show you to your room.” Princess Celestia took the lead and guided Princess Luna through the castle.
  56. 56.

  57. 57.
“Here are the staircases to our rooms. I hope the motif is to your liking.” Princess Celestia said. On the left was a staircase adorned with white and gold trim and a brilliant sun above the archway. On the left was a staircase adorned with black and blue trip and a magnificent moon above its archway.
  58. 58.

  59. 59.
Princess Luna walked up the stairs and smiled. Even the door was in the shape of a round, pale moon. “You enjoyed planning this, didn't you, Tia?”
  60. 60.

  61. 61.
“Guilty as charged. I hope it's not too much. We haven't even stepped inside.” Princess Celestia pulled open the door and revealed the brilliance of he room.
  62. 62.

  63. 63.
A large, circular bed also designed after a full moon sat in the center of the room. There was a yellow rug in the shape of a crescent moon in front of the bed. The ceiling had been enchanted to show off a dazzling night sky and the nearby windows were all set for stargazing with several telescopes and dozens of star charts.
  64. 64.

  65. 65.
“There's plenty of space for anything else you may need. I hope you don't mind it being a bit sparse. I didn't want to assume too much.” Princess Celestia said.
  66. 66.

  67. 67.
“Oh Tia, it's perfect as it is.” Princess Luna gave her sister a hug. “Oh goodness, my own regalia stand!” Princess Luna's eyes lit up as she rushed off to see her royal adornments.
  68. 68.

  69. 69.
“Of course. I want to make sure we do things right this time. Both of us, together, making all the decisions and compromising on what's best for everypony.” Princess Celestia said.
  70. 70.

  71. 71.
Princess Luna grabbed the royal necklace with her magic and immediately put it on, only for the necklace to nearly slide past her shoulders. She did her best to slip into her horseshoes but it was for naught. They were far too big.
  72. 72.

  73. 73.
“Oops...I think these measurements are based off of mine. Don't worry, Luna. Once your full power returns, you'll grow into them. I'm sure of it.”
  74. 74.

  75. 75.
Feeling defeated, Princess Luna put the regalia back on the stand. “I always was trying to fit into horseshoes that were too big for me back then. Hopefully I won't disappoint you again.” Princess Luna replied.
  76. 76.

  77. 77.
“I wouldn't worry about that. I just want you to be happy.” Princess Celestia said before hugging her sister.
  78. 78.

  79. 79.
A quick knock at the door interrupted the gentle moment. “Princess Celestia? Princess Luna? The statue is ready to be unveiled at the center of town. Please come down at your earliest convenience so we can start the celebration.” Kibitz called out.
  80. 80.

  81. 81.
“Oh...done already? How in the world did they finish so soon?” Princess Luna asked.
  82. 82.

  83. 83.
“We have the best of the best ready for such occasions nowadays. Come, lets celebrate your return to Equestria and to my side.” Princess Celestia said. She led the way from the castle and through town. Everypony watched with grand smiles and bowed deeply as Princess Celestia and Princess Luna walked through the streets.
  84. 84.

  85. 85.
At last, they arrived at the center of town where a massive statue had been hidden under a massive cloth. A massive crowd of ponies were present, all to pay respects to their princesses.
  86. 86.

  87. 87.
“Citizens of Equestria! I'm sure you've all heard by now of the return of Nightmare Moon, her defeat by my pupil, Twilight Sparkle, and the true return of my sister, Princess Luna. It is today that I decree that my sister shall work alongside me once more to continue to grow our country into a place of prosperity and friendship!” Princess Celestia shouted to the townsfolk.
  88. 88.

  89. 89.
A series of cheers and stomping filled the air. Everypony sure was excited.
  90. 90.

  91. 91.
“And now, to unveil another wonderful monument to Equestia, I give the honor to my sister, Luna.” Princess Celestia finished her speech.
  92. 92.

  93. 93.
Princess Luna stepped forward and took a deep breath. “CITIZENS OF EQUESTRIA!” Princess Luna's voice echoed throughout the entire town.
  94. 94.

  95. 95.
“LUNA!” Princess Celestia shouted before waving her forearms about. “Luna, please don't address everypony with the royal canterlot voice. This is a celebration, not an argument in the courts!”
  96. 96.

  97. 97.
“OH! I'm...uh...so sorry, everypony!” Princess Luna blushed. “I...um....I want to apologize for this misunderstanding...and the misunderstanding from one thousand years ago. I promise to use my standing as Princess to serve you, the ponies of our great nation.”
  98. 98.

  99. 99.
There was a smaller collection of cheers and stomping for Princess Luna after her speech.
  100. 100.

  101. 101.
“Um...without further ado, the statue!” Princess Luna carefully grabbed the giant cloth and tossed it aside. A grand statue of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna standing proud was on full display for everypony to see.
  102. 102.

  103. 103.
This time, there was a lot more cheering and stomping for Princess Luna and her grand unveiling of the statue.
  104. 104.

  105. 105.
“Now...dig in everypony!” Princess Celestia shouted. She extended her wings and flew straight towards the statue of herself...and took a bite out of it!
  106. 106.

  107. 107.
“WHAT??” Princess Luna shouted. At once, all the ponies waiting rushed towards the statues and began devouring them. Luna watched as the interior of the statue was actually cake.
  108. 108.

  109. 109.
“What? Huh? Tia! What's going on?? You said these were statues!”
  110. 110.

  111. 111.
Princess Celestia took a massive bite of her “statue” and swallowed. “Oh...I forgot to tell you. In the years following the defeat of Nightmare Moon, the citizens insisted on creating all sorts of artwork in memory of the event. I could not bear to relive such a terrible moment so I made a royal decree that instead of remembering the past in such a painful way, we should create art out of food so that we can make wonderful memories of the present by sharing gifts with each other.”
  112. 112.

  113. 113.
“Tia! That pony is eating my face!” Princess Luna shouted. Steam began to pour out of her ears as she watched the swarm of ponies devouring all the cake shaped like herself. “I wont stand for such disrespect!”
  114. 114.

  115. 115.
Princess Luna charged her horn with a vast amount of magic and quickly teleported herself and the cake back to her room to salvage any dignity she might have had left. She looked over the statue in dismay, observing all the bite marks all over her cake body.
  116. 116.

  117. 117.
“How incredibly inappropriate. There are bite marks on my flanks!...My flanks can't be that big, can they? They must have embellished this detail...” Princess Luna mused.
  118. 118.

  119. 119.
“This cake must be disposed of at once. I shall not be devoured like a meal for timberwolves!” Princess Luna tried to channel more magic into her horn but a furious grumble distracted her. “Oh...how embarrassing. I suppose spending one thousand years on the moon would make a pony incredibly hungry...”
  120. 120.

  121. 121.
“N-No matter! I shall dispose of this at once and seek a proper meal.” Princess Luna tried to charge her magic one more, only for her stomach to protest even louder. “Drat...I'm simply too hungry to concentrate...Perhaps...just a bite or two to recover my strength.” Princess Luna mused to herself.
  122. 122.

  123. 123.
“Hmm. If I am to eat a sweetened caricature of myself, I shall do it with as much dignity as I can muster.” Princess Luna said. She left her room in a hurry to find the kitchen. There was no way she, a princess, was going to nibble on her own snout without a plate at the very least.
  124. 124.

  125. 125.
With a plate, silverware, and a glass of milk ready, Princess Luna returned to her room. She set the milk down and studied her cake mimicry. “Well...what would be most appropriate? Not my face...not there...hmmm. This is ridiculous. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to take a bit of the tail?” Princess Luna spoke to herself.
  126. 126.

  127. 127.
A knife cut through the cake easy enough and allowed Princess Luna to obtain a proper serving. She picked up a fork and quickly shoved a bite into her mouth. “Mmmmmm...wait one second! This cake is divine! Absolutely magnificent! So much sweeter than We remember. Tia was right, the best artisans of Equestria must have made this heavenly dessert!”
  128. 128.

  129. 129.
The slice of cake was gone in an instant. Princess Luna was licking her lips, savoring every morsel she could. “There. That should be more than enough to quell the ache in my stomach. Now, to properly get rid of this....delicious...monstrosity.”
  130. 130.

  131. 131.
Princess Luna hesitated. It is an abomination to her and disrespect towards the throne! It was so tasty and there's so much of it. Nopony would miss another slice. “N-No. We must be rid of this mockery of myself. It has to go!”
  132. 132.

  133. 133.
So it went. Another slice was cut from the tail and delicately placed on the plate. “J-Just one more. One more and I shall banish this to the garbage!” Princess Luna told herself as she shoved another bite of cake into her mouth. “MMMMM....Is shooo good!” She said with her mouth full.
  134. 134.

  135. 135.
The second slice was already gone and Princess Luna was cutting a third piece. “I-It's been one thousand years...I...I need more than just one slice! Hahaha....” Princess Luna was sounding more unsure with every bite, savoring the intense sugar high that was clouding her judgment.
  136. 136.

  137. 137.
Each new slice was bigger than the last. Princess Luna needed more of this rich sugar, this creamy frosting. Every bite was more delicious than the last and the Princess would not be denied her new craving. “Perhaps I was too harsh on my sister...I can certainly see why we would celebrate with cake if they are this good!”
  138. 138.

  139. 139.
Princess Luna let out a sigh of relief after the tenth slice. She grabbed the glass of milk with her magic and chugged it down. “Fantastic. Absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have imagined such a wonderful meal to celebrate my return.” Princess Luna looked back towards the cake and noticed she had nearly devoured the entire tail herself. A blush crept onto her face as she realized just how much she had consumed.
  140. 140.

  141. 141.
“Goodness...I really ate a lot of it, didn't I? Oh, it was too good! I simply had to eat more. However, it really is time to get rid of it. I can't have all this cake sitting in my room like this.” Princess Luna said. She closed her eyes and focused her magic once again.
  142. 142.

  143. 143.
“Still...to throw away something so delicious? Something that ponies worked so hard to make? A princess shouldn't be wasteful of the resources Our citizens work hard to provide.” Princess Luna stopped her magic. “Oh, but what to do with it? I can't take it back, now. I would look foolish in front of everypony.”
  144. 144.

  145. 145.
Princess Luna stood there, staring at her sweet doppelganger for what felt like hours. The only thing to break her concentration was another gurgle from her stomach.
  146. 146.

  147. 147.
“I...I can't still be hungry. There is simply no way I need more cake.” Princess Luna turned away from the cake...only to look back at it with a deep desire. “I...suppose that I could eat more of it. As I said, it would be horrible to waste anything provided to Us.”
  148. 148.

  149. 149.
The plate was completely covered with cake this time. Princess Luna tore into it with a primal need, shoving big bites of cake into her mouth. Her room was filled with the sound of her satisfied moans as the gigantic slice of cake disappeared in seconds.
  150. 150.

  151. 151.
“More. There's still much to savor!” Princess Luna demanded. She put the plate down and rushed over to the sweet statue. Her manners were discarded as Princess Luna took a massive bite out of one of the legs of the cake. “Yeeessshhhh. Mmmmmm is shoooooo gooooood!” She moaned.
  152. 152.

  153. 153.
Princess Luna continued to eat. Nothing seemed to stop her now. She rushed through heavy bites and swallowed hard, making her throat bulge out with her gluttonous eating. She moaned with every bite, enjoying the sweet, delicious flavors of the cake and icing as they melted in her mouth.
  154. 154.

  155. 155.
With the tail and one of the legs gone, Princess Luna's belly was finally rounding outwards. Her belly began to make loud, angry gurgling noises as it struggled to digest so much sugar and carbs all at once. Princess Luna was deaf to it as she continued to eat with determination.
  156. 156.

  157. 157.
A flap of her wings put Princess Luna face to face with her own snout. She hesitated for a moment before diving back in, taking bigger and bigger bites out of the cake. She moaned again and again, letting her idle forelegs rub her bloating belly.
  158. 158.

  159. 159.
The head, wings and most of the back were devoured, now. Princess Luna eased herself back down to the ground and let out a sigh. “S-Stupid wings...Not using them for one thousand years had made them weak!”
  160. 160.

  161. 161.
In truth, Princess Luna was far heavier than she remembered. One thousand years on the moon's gravity coupled with the vast amount of cake in her belly equaled one massive princess. Still, her determination to finish pushed her back to eating. If her wings weren't going to be of use, then her magic was going to help.
  162. 162.

  163. 163.
Princess Luna sat down on a nearby pillow and let her magic do all the work. Big, messy globs of cake rushed towards her mouth and she made the best effort to devour every crumb. Her face was soon covered with frosting and her chest was littered with crumbs but it didn't matter. All that mattered was “getting rid” of the cake.
  164. 164.

  165. 165.
Noisy stomach gurgles and an aching tummy were ignored as Princess Luna continued to eat. Her belly continued to stretch and grow, her coat getting thinner and thinner to reveal her soft skin underneath. The area surrounding her stomach was becoming a deep blue from all the stress and yet she continued to eat.
  166. 166.

  167. 167.
Enough was enough. Princess Luna's alicorn magic began to flow through her body and rushed through her stomach. Slowly, the thousands upon thousands of calories she had inhaled began to spread across her body. Her belly became soft, her hips and rear widened out and her face became cute and plump. As the magic flowed through her body, Princess Luna's entire look began to change.
  168. 168.

  169. 169.
Her coat deepened in color to a dark blue, her mane began to grow and shimmer through the air much like Princess Celestia, her legs and entire body began to grow longer, yet did very little to aid in hiding the massive amount of weight she had piled on and continued to pile on. Princess Luna grew from her adolescent state into a proud, adult mare alicorn at last.
  170. 170.

  171. 171.
The cake was almost gone at last. Princess Luna looked over her soft, wobbling belly to see the last bits of the statue's legs and hooves get yanked up by her magic and heading towards her mouth. She opened wide and swallowed the last bit of cake with intense greed, rubbing and playing with her doughy gut as much as she could.
  172. 172.

  173. 173.
“Oh....oh yes....We haven't dined like that in forever.” Princess Luna moaned. She still hadn't realized that she had grown softer since starting her feast. Perhaps she didn't even care. It was a whole new life to begin, after all. Who is to say that this isn't how things should be?
  174. 174.

  175. 175.
“Ahem...enjoying yourself?” A voice called out.
  176. 176.

  177. 177.
“Ahh! Who's there!” Princess Luna finally snapped out of her haze and looked past her belly and to the door. Princess Celestia was standing there with a wing over her face, doing her best not to laugh.
  178. 178.

  179. 179.
“S-Sister! How long have you been watching!” Princess Luna asked. She blushed hard as she struggled to roll over and stand up. Her whole center of gravity had changed with her new size and weight, making her wobble about and fall back onto her massive rear.
  180. 180.

  181. 181.
“Oh, no longer than a few moments. I was hoping to apologize about not explaining anything about the celebration statues...but I don't think I need to, anymore.” Princess Celestia said. “It was tasty, wasn't it?”
  182. 182.

  183. 183.
Princess Luna tapped her forehooves together. “Y-Yes. I may have acted in a blind haste and embarrassed us and when I realized what I had done, I couldn't bear the guilt of throwing away such a tasty dessert.”
  184. 184.

  185. 185.
“Don't worry about it. I was so eager to get back to how things used to be that I forgot that too much has changed since those days. I will do my best to help you in the future, my dear sister.” Princess Celestia said.
  186. 186.

  187. 187.
“Now...how about I help you to bed? I think after so much excitement and such a big meal, a nap would be the best thing for you right now.”
  188. 188.

  189. 189.
Princess Luna opened her mouth to protest but a yawn suddenly burst forth. “Oh...alright. Perhaps I should heed your advice and rest. We have plenty of time to get back to our royal duties.” Princess Luna said.
  190. 190.

  191. 191.
Slowly, Princess Luna rose to her hooves. She blushed as she realized how much she jiggled with each step to her new bed. Princess Celestia used her magic to lift up the bedsheets and allowed her sister to slide into the middle of the bed. A quick wipe of Luna's face with a washcloth made sure the sheets stayed clean.
  192. 192.

  193. 193.
“Take as much time as you need to recover, Luna. Rest well.” Princess Celestia said. The lights were dimmed and the door was closed, allowing Luna to close her eyes and sleep off the massive meal.
