Expiry: Never

1. “Ssssssiiiixxxx…”
2. >You breathe out, your Stand lifting the Train car.
3. >You’re Erich Rammstein.
4. >And ever since your trip to Italy, you’ve been training.
5. >You encountered a Stand user there who had a more powerful Stand than you.
6. >Giorno Giovanna, and his Stand, 「GOLD EXPERIENCE」.
7. “Ssssseeeveeennnn…”
8. >He was a mob boss, and you were sure he was gonna kill you for the fight you put him through.
9. >If it weren’t for the timely intervention of Josuke, you’re certain he would have killed you.
10. >But he knew Josuke through a mutual friend.
11. >You’re certain you would’ve won if your heart was in the fight, and you had better control over your own Stand.
12. >So you invited him to come to the states at some point for a rematch.
13. >Stupid? Maybe. But your pride as a man prevented you from just letting it go.
14. “Eeeeeeiiigghhhhht…”
15. >So ever since then, you’ve incorporated a workout to improve your Stamina, and test the limits of your Stand.
16. >Hell, if your Stand is a part of you, then you should be able to improve it the same way you improve any muscle.
17. >But you already know you can lift every weight in a Gym with 「BENZIN」.
18. >So you went to the next best thing; a trainyard.
19. >It’s a process, but lifting weights when you have superpowers isn’t easy.
20. “Niiiiiiiinnnneeee…”
21. >Still, you’re not even sure you’ll see Giorno ever again.
22. >But that doesn’t mean you’re not going to prepare.
23. >You want to be sure you can beat him, on the off chance he took your invitation for a rematch seriously.
24. >This will not rest until you’re sure you can beat him.
25. ”Teeeeeeeeen.”
26. >The train car is slowly set on the ground with a loud thud.
27. >Next time, you’ll definitely win.
28.
29. >Producing a towel, you wipe the sweat off your face.
30. >You still aren’t sure whether or not you can improve your Stand’s attributes this way, but you’re certainly working your cardio.
31. >So if nothing else, you’re definitely going to have more staying power.
32. >That said, you hate working out.
33. >Not because it’s too hard, but because you hate being sweaty afterwards.
34. >And the water bill’s not cheap.
35. >living on your own has its perks, but you’re still in charge of your finances.
36. >Your job at a warehouse only gives you so much money a pay period.
37. >Even if you are one of the best employees.
38. >Thanks to 「BENZIN」.
39. >Speaking of which, you need to get some sleep.
40. >Can't be too tired when you go to work tonight.
41. >It's morning now, but you work night shift.
42. >It's almost time for you to get to bed.
43. >Better set course for home sweet home.
44. >You bring out your Stand, and hand off your towel.
45. >You watch as it fades into the darkness, and disappears.
46. >You consider yourself a bit lucky.
47. >How many people can use their Stand for both combat and storage?
48. >It’s really an underestimated convenience.
49. >You don't really know the upper limit of what you can store.
50. >Even if you're storing something very heavy, you don't feel any different than if you're not storing anything at all.
51. >...Wait, how does that work?
52. >...
53. >You suppose it just works.
54. >Maybe you’ll try messing around with your Stand one day, in order to better understand it.
55. >Without any more thought to the subject, you exit the trainyard.
56. >You head home, cooling down from your workout.
57. >You’re out of uniform, but with you stinking up your clothes, you couldn’t care less about that.
58. >It’s a really nice uniform, after all.
59.
60. >Besides, it’s nice not pissing people off with your very presence once in awhile.
61. >Not that there’s currently anyone to piss off, right now.
62. >Well, maybe there might be.
63. >You spy a girl in a Stetson walking the opposite direction.
64. >Cowboy boots, denim skirt...you gotta admit, she’s rocking that Southern gal look pretty well.
65. >And those legs are rather nice, too.
66. >She’s looking over at you with a smile, and she tips her hat.
67. >You give a friendly wave, as your thoughts drift to a childhood friend.
68. >About ten years ago, you had this friend that you used to hang out with all the time.
69. >She was honest and hardworking, values that her late parents instilled in her.
70. >You actually had a good time playing around with her on that farm she lived on.
71. >Her penchant for honesty is what inspired you to seek the truth in all things.
72. >You probably wouldn’t be the way you are today if it weren’t for her.
73. >Alas, she decided to leave for greener pastures a long time ago.
74. >She went to Manehattan to live with her aunt and uncle, and that was the last you heard of her.
75. >Real shame, too. She was actually your first crush.
76. >She had this cute accent that went with her ensemble.
77. >You swear, you can still hear it if you reminisce long enough.
78. >”Partner?...Hey, Partner!”
79. >...Huh, you don’t remember her sounding this mature.
80. >”Hey, I’m askin’ ya if yer name’s Erich Rammstein or not!”
81. >Warte…
82. >That’s not your memories talking.
83. >Scheiße!
84. >You spin around, to see the Southern gal looking at you with a hint of annoyance.
85. >You blink.
86. “Applejack? Is that you?”
87.
88. >The girl smirks.
89. >”I sure as sugar am, partner! Though it was a might rude of ya to ignore me like that.”
90. >You place a hand on your forehead, and mutter to yourself.
91. “Mein Gott, I must be blind.”
92. >You sigh, straightening yourself, before smiling at her.
93. “Sorry, AJ, I didn’t recognize you. That, and I was just lost in thought.”
94. >She seems a little disappointed.
95. >”That’s all yer gonna greet me with?”
96. >Wait…
97. >...No, you’re just imagining it.
98. >You look at her apologetically, before giving her a hug.
99. “Sorry for the smell.”
100. >You hear her chuckle, as she wraps her arms around you.
101. >”It’s fine, sugarcube. I work on a farm, remember?”
102. >You suppose that’s true.
103. >You still feel disgusting, though, so you break the hug.
104. >Don’t wanna get your stink on her.
105. “When did you get back, AJ? Last I heard, you went to Manehattan.”
106. >AJ waves a dismissive hand.
107. >”You‘ve been outta the loop too long, Sugarcube. I came back a few months later.”
108. >Really? Scheiße, why didn’t you look her up immediately?
109. “What was I doing? I should’ve contacted you. And did you try to get in touch with me?”
110. >AJ offers a sympathetic look.
111. >”Aww, Sugarcube, I tried, but you were in a rut. You were cooped up in yer room like a nervous chick in a hen house. You weren’t lettin’ anyone in.”
112. >That’s right.
113. >You father died shortly after she moved away.
114. >You feel AJ put a hand on your shoulder.
115. >”Sorry ‘bout what happened, Rick. I know what it’s like to lose someone close to ya.”
116. >You must’ve displayed some sort of disappointment on your face.
117. >You give her a reassuring smile, sighing.
118. “Kein Problem, AJ. I managed to pull through.”
119.
120. >You start walking along, catching up with your childhood friend.
121. >You were older than her, so it made sense that you graduated high school first.
122. >She’s currently on her Junior year, and you graduated last year.
123. >AJ was the only one you trusted outside the family with the secret of your Stand.
124. >You were that close with each other, and you’re happy to see that closeness survived your time apart from her.
125. >She starts telling you about the amazing things that have happened since you last saw her.
126. >She tells you of her adventures in High School.
127. >How prom was hijacked by Sunset Shimmer.
128. >How a group of Sirens tried to drain power from the people of the world.
129. >How she used her new powers during the Friendship Games.
130. >It was all pretty unbelievable, but you’ve had your fair share of adventures yourself.
131. >You tell her of your battle with 「HEARTBREAKER」, your escape from the Hoofler compound, and your fight with Westerholt and her army of zombies and skeletons in the church graveyard.
132. >You even drop some redpills about the truth behind the Holocaust and National Socialism in the process.
133. >...She seemed to take it well enough, but she assures you that no matter what your views, she still wants to be your friend.
134. >You clear your throat, and encourage her to research it herself, and add that you still want to be friends with her, too.
135. >An awkward silence follows as you walk towards Sweet Apple Acres.
136.
137. >You decide to break the silence.
138. “Did I tell you I have a baby sister, now?”
139. >She looks up with a smile, forgetting the awkwardness of the moment.
140. >”No ya didn’t, Sugarcube. This is the first I’ve heard of it.”
141. >You smile.
142. “Her name’s Angel, and she’s the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet. She has a Stand, like me, but her power is a little different. I’ve tried to be a respectable male figure in her life, and teach her to use her Stand responsibly. She’s lonely, though. She has a couple friends, but she still feels a little lonely.”
143. >AJ brightens up.
144. >”Well, shucks, Sugarcube! Why don’tcha drop by the farm some time, an’ bring her along? I’m sure she an’ Applebloom will get along right as rain!”
145. >She stopped in front of the trail leading to her farm.
146. >Guess it’s time to part.
147. >Better leave on a positive note.
148. “That’s not a bad idea. Maybe I’ll take you up on it sometime.”
149. >She holds out a hand for you to shake, and you take it.
150. >Suddenly, AJ pulls you into a hug.
151. >”Yer welcome anytime at Sweet Apple Acres, Rick. Just...don’t bring up politics none.”
152. >You grunt.
153. “Fine, I’ll behave.”
154. >Saying your goodbyes, AJ turned to go down to the farmhouse.
155. >You turn, and head back home.
156. >You still gotta get ready for work, but it seems like the next few days are finally looking up.
157.
158. >"Good morning, Canterlot city! This is Mix 106.7 WJVR! As always, coming to you at the top of the hour, here's the local weather! Another bright sunny day in Canterlot, but there's a massive cold front getting ready to hit the local area! Highs are expected to be in the mid 40s, so everyone, dress warm! Onto the local news! Police are baffled by the latest in mysterious killings! A 25 year old office worker was killed after he was shot seven times in his own home! Grisly! The police chief made a statement yesterday, saying that 'the murders appear to have no connection whatsoever, other than the fact that all the murders were done via military grade weaponry. Given that our prime suspects have access to weapons exclusive to the military, and that we are certain the murderer isn't a civilian, some of us on the force have christened him to be known as 'Sergeant Slaughter.'' The chief of police went on to ensure that the force is close to a break in the case, and has a message for Sergeant Slaughter. 'We're coming for you, and there's no place you can hide!' Sounds like the police mean business, Sergeant! Better turn yourself in, and make things easier-"
159.
160. >You shut off this nonsense.
161. >Those fools.
162. >They have nothing.
163. >When they say they're coming, they're miles away.
164. >And when they say they're about to have a break, they're hopelessly lost.
165. >You made sure of that.
166. >But what's most offensive to you is the name they gave you.
167. >'Sergeant Slaughter?' How plebeian.
168. >You cross off another name on your list.
169. >Your list of known Stand Users in town is growing thin.
170. >You need to do some scouting again.
171. >You have it on good intel that there's more in Canterlot.
172. >So far, only a few have been able to see reason.
173. >The rest had to die.
174. >They had the power to stand in your way, and you weren't about to allow that.
175. >No matter, what's done is done.
176. >They were casualties. Casualties of the coming 「WAR」.
177. >Acceptable losses, no more.
178.
179. >You’re Erich Rammstein.
180. >And it’s Saturday.
181. >You organized with AJ to come over today.
182. >It seemed she was getting work done early.
183. >You were off work that day, too.
184. >So for once, you offered to take care of your baby sister for mom.
185. >She was really grateful not to have to ask.
186. >And you had an excuse to hang out with Applejack for a good while.
187. >You walk towards Sweet Apple Acres, hand in hand with your baby sister.
188. >”Where are we going, Ricky?”
189. >You smile down at her, before facing forward.
190. “We’re going to visit a friend of mine.”
191. >She smiles genuinely, and responds jovially.
192. >”I didn’t know you had friends, Ricky!”
193. >...
194. >You love your sister, and you would never hurt her.
195. >But verdammt, she can be a brat sometimes.
196. >Even if she doesn’t intend to.
197. “Maybe I just didn’t tell you about them, squirt.”
198. >You say with mock-offense.
199. >”What’s your friend do? How do you know them?”
200. “She’s a farmer, and a hard worker. I met her when she and I were really young. We played together a lot, when she wasn’t busy with her chores.”
201.
202. >”Wooow! You mean you know that girl that works at the apple farm?”
203. “Yep, that’s her.”
204. >”Her apples are really good! Is she your girlfriend?”
205. >You grunt.
206. “Hey now, Engel. A boy and a girl can have a healthy friendship without actually being romantic.”
207. >She gets this sly grin on her face.
208. >”I didn’t hear a noo~!”
209. >Oh, NOW she’s being a brat.
210. “No, she’s not my girlfriend.”
211. >”But you like her, don’tcha?”
212. >You groan.
213. >You love your sister.
214. >You love your sister.
215. >You love your sister, and you would never hurt her.
216. >”You’re blushing, Ricky~!”
217. >VERDAMMT!
218. “I said ‘she’s not my girlfriend,’ Engel.”
219. >She giggles.
220. >”S’okay, Ricky. Gioia has this boy she really likes, but doesn’t wanna tell him, either.”
221. >Mein Gott, Angel is so cute you wanna strangle her right now.
222. >Sweet Apple Acres can’t come soon enough.
223.
224. >Here it is, Sweet Apple Acres.
225. >That last block felt a lot longer than it actually was.
226. >Somehow, you managed to resist throttling your sister.
227. “Here we are, Engel.”
228. >Angel breaks from you, running up to the farmhouse excitedly.
229. >She’s never been on a real farm before, so you guess she’s enthusiastic about this new experience.
230. >You smile, calling after her.
231. “Wait for me, mein lieb!”
232. >She calls back at you, laughing.
233. >”Move faster, Ricky!”
234. >She suddenly bumps into a big buff blonde dude, and falls to the ground.
235. >She looks up at the big guy, who looks down at her, chewing on a piece of straw.
236. >Angel seems a little intimidated, but you wave.
237. “Big Macintosh! Wie gehts?”
What’s up?
238. >He looks up at you, before picking Angel up, and setting her back on her feet.
239. >You catch up to them as Angel dusts herself off.
240. “Is Applejack around?”
241. >He nods.
242. >”Eeyup.”
243. >You watch as he loads another bale of hay on a wagon.
244. “Still got chores to do, huh?”
245. >”Eeyup.”
246. >You can’t tell whether he’s being curt, or he’s not very talkative.
247. >Maybe that’s why you don’t get along very well, despite your efforts.
248. “Any chance you know whether AJ is done with her chores or not?”
249. >”Nope.”
250. >This guy.
251. >You shrug, grabbing Angel’s hand.
252. “Well, we’d better leave you to it. Einen schönen Tag noch.”
Have a good day
253. >”Have a good’un.”
254.
255. >You’re almost to the farmhouse when that Southern Belle accent charms its way through the air.
256. >”Howdy, partner!”
257. >You look over, and smile as you see Applejack.
258. >She’s walking up with her baby sister.
259. >”Glad y’all could make it!”
260. >You decide you’re going to tease AJ like you always did, back when you knew each other as kids.
261. “It’s a pleasure to be here, schöne Fraulien.”
lovely lady.
262. >You hear Angel snicker.
263. >AJ and her sister tilt their heads in confusion.
264. >”Sis, is he speakin’ in fancy?”
265. “And this must be Applebloom. Deine Schwester sagt, du bist eine Handvoll.”
Your sister says you’re a handful.
266. >Angel suppresses a giggle.
267. >Applejack looks between you and your sister suspiciously.
268. >”Y’all ain’t sayin’ anythin’ demeanin’, are ya?”
269. >You offer up a smile.
270. “Of course not, Mein Hundchen.”
my puppy.
271. >”Yer whut now?”
272. >Smiling with a teasing nature, you decide to take Applejack’s free hand.
273. “Ah, AJ. Ich möchte nur kommentieren, wie viel Sie für mich bedeuten. Das ist alles, Mein Hundchen.”
I'm merely commenting on how much you mean to me. That's all, my puppy..
274. >She’s more confused than ever, until you see her look down at Angel.
275. >Then she starts blushing, and suddenly looks at you.
276. >”Y-you ain’t confessin’ some hidden feelings or sumthin’ ta me, are ya?!”
277. >Shocked, you look down at Angel.
278. >She’s covered her mouth, looking up at the two of you as if you just proposed.
279. >”Ich wusste es!”
I knew it!
280. >Hastily, you release AJ’s hand, and clear your throat as you straighten yourself.
281. “I-I was just teasing you like I normally did back when we were kids. You remember those days, right?”
282.
283. >Applejack looked away for a second, brow furrowing as she remembered her childhood.
284. >”Y-you mean, y’all been sayin’ stuff like that ta me fer years?!”
285. >You scratch your head, looking away sheepishly.
286. “Sorry, AJ. Young me thought it was funny that you didn’t know what I was saying, and I never broke the habit of teasing people.”
287. >She looks up at you, and pushes you, folding her arms.
288. >”W-well ya shouldn’t toy with a girl’s heart like that, Rick! It ain’t proper! I knew you were teasin’ me when ya said those things, but I just couldn’t prove it ‘til now!”
289. >There’s a disappointed ‘aww’ behind you from Angel.
290. >For a moment, you look away, guilty.
291. >Then, Applebloom speaks.
292. >”But sis! Weren’t ya tellin’ me earlier how happy ya get when he teased ya? You were sayin’ it’s part o’ his cha-”
293. >Applejack immediately clasped a hand over her sister’s mouth, and smiles up at you with rose tinted cheeks, before facing Applebloom.
294. >”Now lookee here, missy! Rick was nice enough ta bring his sister over ta play with you, so why don’tcha take her to the clubhouse or somethin’ while I catch up with him.”
295. >Applebloom nods, a muffled ‘ohhhh’ sound coming from her mouth. AJ removes her hand.
296. >”Don’t worry, Sis! I’ll let ya alone with yer boyfriend!”
297. >Before Applejack can say ‘He ain’t mah boyfriend,’ Applebloom grabs Angel’s hand, and darts off.
298. >You see AJ lower her stetson, trying to hide her face as it burned like a hot tomato.
299. >You decide that it’s probably a good idea to try and normalize things.
300. “Little sisters, am I right?”
301. >You see Applejack bite her lip, still trying to cover her face with her stetson.
302. >You sigh.
303. >Hopefully, things get less awkward soon.
304.
305. >You’re Angel Rammstein.
306. >Currently being dragged along by Ricky’s
girl
friend’s little sister.
307. >She stops to catch her breath, and you do the same.
308. >She looks up at you, and smiles.
309. >”Sorry ‘bout that. My sister has a crush on yer brother, an’ I didn’t wanna get in the way o’ that. Hope ya don’t mind.”
310. >Warte, was?
311. >You straighten up, coughing into your fist.
312. >”You uh...you do speak Equestrian, right?”
313. >You look at her, raising an eyebrow.
314. “Of course I do. I was born here, after all.”
315. >”Oh, good. I knew you were understandin’ what yer brother was sayin’, so I thought you only spoke that fancy language he was speakin’. My name’s Applebloom.
316. >You laugh.
317. “Angel. I guess German is pretty fancy compared to Equestrian.”
318. >”What was he sayin’, anyway?”
319. >You smile at Applebloom.
320. “He was flirting with your sister. He was giving her pet names, and telling her how much she means to him.”
321. >You can see Applebloom’s jaw drop.
322. >”No. Way.”
323. “Way. You should’ve heard him before we got here. The way he was talking? He denies it, but I bet you five bits he’s totally got a crush on her.”
324. >Applebloom’s eyes light up.
325. >”That’s amazin’! That must mean they’re made fer each other!”
326. >You nod in agreement.
327. “Definitely. Wanna try to get them to start dating?”
328. >Applebloom shakes her head.
329. >”Nuh-uh. No way. I once tried to hook my brother up with my teacher, an’ it almost ended badly fer everyone. I ain’t doin’ that again. Best we just let it play out.”
330. >So, no matchmaking.
331. >Bummer. You really want to see how Erich and his not-girlfriend get along.
332. >You try to think of something else to do.
333. “Didn’t your sister say you had a clubhouse?”
334. >Applebloom nods.
335. >”Yeah! Wanna see it?”
336. “Of course I do! I’ve never seen one before!”
337.
338. >You’re Erich Rammstein.
339. >Leaning against a fence, standing next to your childhood friend.
340. >She’s still blushing, though not quite as intensely as she was a minute ago.
341. >Maybe you should try breaking the ice again.
342. “Sooooo…”
343. >You really don’t know what to say.
344. “Some sunny weather we’ve been having these past few days, huh?”
345. >Aaaand you just showed it.
346. >...
347. >Maybe you should apologize to her again. This time, more earnestly.
348. “Look, sorry for teasing you, AJ. Please understand. I only tease people I like.”
349. >She chuckles.
350. >”Of course.”
351. >She sighs.
352. >”I s’pose I’m a bit sorry, too. See, it ain’t like me ta get all flustered like that.”
353. “I understand entirely Mein Hundche-er, AJ. Sorry, force of habit.”
354. >She scrunches her lip.
355. >”What’s that mean, anyway?”
356. “My puppy.”
357. >”Beg yer pardon?”
358. “It’s a German term of endearment. In Germany, it’s customary, even ‘romantic’ to nickname someone you care about after a small animal. You’ll often hear German lovers refer to each other as things like ‘Berchen’ or ‘Fuchschen,’ ‘little bear,’ or ‘little fox’ respectively.”
359. >AJ looks at you skeptically.
360. >”You were givin’ me a pet name?”
361. >You cough in your hand.
362. “Like I said, Young me was a master of acting stupid with his best friend. And old habits die hard.”
363. >There’s a moment of silence between the two of you.
364. >”W-well...don’t expect me ta wear dog ears, or nuthin’. Or a collar, fer that matter.”
365.
366. >You look at her.
367. >She looks at you.
368. >Gott, that serious expression on her face.
369. >It’s just too much.
370. >You burst out laughing, and she does the same.
371. “I don’t know, AJ. You always used to play fetch with me.”
372. >Still laughing, she wipes a tear from her eye.
373. >”H-how do ya figure?”
374. “Remember how we used to play ball, and I was the one who always managed to accidentally throw it in the bushes?”
375. >”Yeah, an’ I was always the one who went an’ searched for it!”
376. “Well, there you go! We were playing fetch!”
377. >You two share a hearty laugh.
378. >”Well I s’pose I am a mutt, ain’t I?”
379. “Mutt? No, absolutely not. You’re a best-in-show purebred.”
380. >You two start joking around.
381. >Now, it’s starting to feel like old times.
382.
383. “The Cutie Mark Crusaders?”
384. >Applebloom nods.
385. >”Eeyup. That was our band name. An’ here’s a video we did!”
386. >You’re Angel Rammstein.
387. >And your new friend is showing you a song she and some other friends wrote.
388. >You’re listening to...something…
389. >You’re not sure what it is.
390. >The ‘song’ comes to an end, and she looks over at you.
391. >”I really like what we did with it. It’s one of our best songs!”
392. >Yeesh.
393. >Better be nice about it.
394. “W-well, I guess it’s not my cup of tea. I mean, I can’t exactly dance to it.”
395. >Applebloom shrug.
396. >”I can understand that. Not many can appreciate culture.”
397. >You wouldn’t call THAT culture.
398. >Sounded more like a chorus of pigs.
399. >”So, you said you had some other friends, what’re they like? Y’all do anything cool together?”
400. >Aside from save the town from a vampire and exterminate a bunch of Timberwolves?
401. “No, we mostly just hang out, and play games with each other.”
402. >”That sounds like fu-”
403. >There’s suddenly some commotion outside.
404. >Something that sounds familiar.
405. >Like barking.
406. >A lot of barking.
407. >Applebloom looks up frightfully.
408. >”Oh no!”
409. >She runs over to the window, and you follow her.
410. >You gasp as you see a pack of…
411. >”Timberwolves.”
412.
413. >Darnit, why is it whenever you have a playdate with someone new, Timberwolves have to come in and ruin everything?
414. >Wait, why does Applebloom know what they are?
415. >Speaking of which, Applebloom is acting all panicky, looking around the clubhouse.
416. >”Umm, uh...The drawbridge!”
417. >She rushes over to a rope and pulley hidden near the door, and begins tugging on it until it locks into place.
418. >You look out the window, and notice that the plank leading up to the clubhouse has been raised, and is now blocking off the only way up.
419. >She rushes over to a chest in the clubhouse, opens it up, and produces a slingshot with some specially made bullets.
420. >You decide to ask.
421. “Applebloom, what’s going on?”
422. >Applebloom looks over at you, going towards the window.
423. >”You hear that urban legend ‘bout the old wizard who did experiments in the woods a long long time ago?”
424. >You nod.
425. >”Well, it’s true. An’ he set up his tower near Canterlot, not far from where Sweet Apple Acres is now. Occasionally, we get these things called ‘Timberwolves’ wanderin’ in on our property. We always hafta drive’ em off, too, ‘less they ruin th’ crop!”
426. >She takes a peek out the window, before opening it.
427. >”But the thing is, I ain’t never seen this many before! They always come in groups of two or three! There ain’t supposed to be a whole pack!”
428. >You watch as Applebloom starts shooting wolves out the window with her slingshot
429.
430. >You ponder this new information, hearing the occasional yelp from outside.
431. >Something doesn’t seem right.
432. >You’re certain there was a huge pack when you and your friends were a Gioia’s.
433. >These things are created by magic, right?
434. “What if someone else found the old wizard’s tower, and started continuing the wizard’s experiments?”
435. >Applebloom takes another shot at the Timberwolves.
436. >”Now why would anyone do that?”
437. “Maybe they’re trying to teach themselves how to use magic, and they don’t care who they hurt to do it?”
438. >Applebloom opens her mouth to say something, but stops.
439. >”That...makes sense, actually. I know there’s people in this world who can be bad like that.”
440. >She looks over at you, taking a breath.
441. >”Y’know, you’re awful calm about all this, all things considered.”
442. >You can hear some irritation in her voice.
443. “That’s because I fought Timberwolves before.”
444. >”Ya have?!”
445. >You nod.
446. >”Then grab a slingshot! I can use some help!”
447. >You’re gonna do one better.
448. >You go over to the chest, and grab a bag of slingshot bullets.
449. >Then, you walk over to the door.
450. >”Wait, where’re ya goin’, Angel?”
451. “I can’t use a slingshot, so I’m going to fight them the only way I know how.”
452. >You step outside onto the porch of the clubhouse.
453.
454. >Holy poo, that’s a lot of Timberwolves.
455. >They look like they were all trying to figure out a way up the tree.
456. >But as soon as you stepped out onto the porch, they all stopped, and turned to look at you.
457. >That’s creepy.
458. >Applebloom rushes out to stand with you.
459. >”Darnit, Angel! Now that ya gone an’ stepped outta the clubhouse, they got yer scent! There’s gonna be even more!”
460. >You shake your head.
461. “I think they’re here because of me in the first place.”
462. >”Whaddya mean?”
463. >You demonstrate your point by moving away from Applebloom.
464. >You take a slow walk around the outside of the clubhouse, staying on the porch.
465. >The timberwolves follow your every movement, growling and snarling up at you.
466. >You return to Applebloom’s side.
467. “Something, or someone, is controlling them. I think he’s after me.”
468. >”But why would they be after you? What did you do?”
469. “Maybe ‘cuz I destroyed a big Timberwolf that was about as big as this tree.”
470. >Applebloom looks at you like you grew a second head.
471. >”You sure you ain’t pullin’ my leg?”
472. >You nod.
473. “Definitely.”
474. >Applebloom looks back down at the wolves.
475. >”So how ya gonna fight ‘em?”
476. >You remember your promise to Ricky.
477. >’Don’t use your Stand around Normies unless it’s an emergency.’
478. >Well, this is an emergency.
479.
480. >You bring out your Stand, and let it take the bag of slingshot pebbles.
481. >You notice Applebloom’s eyes nearly pop out of their sockets as she looks at the bag.
482. >”H-how’re ya doin’ that?”
483. >To her, you realize, it must look like the bag is floating in midair.
484. “Applebloom, have you ever heard of a Stand?”
485. >She shakes her head.
486. >「ROCK YOU, ACT 2」 pulls out one of the pebbles.
487. “Ricky says a Stand is a guardian spirit. And certain people are born better than others, so these spirits protect and watch over them. These people are known as Stand Users.”
488. >You put the pebble in between your Stand’s thumb and pointer finger, making a knuckle.
489. >Jojo’s daddy taught you this trick.
490. “I’m a Stand User, Applebloom. I have a power that not many other people do. Ricky is a Stand User, too. He says it’s our duty to protect those who aren’t Stand Users from harm.”
491. >Using your Stand, you flick the pebble, launching it like a bullet from a gun.
492. >You nail a wolf in the neck, and it collapses into a pile of sticks.
493. >The other wolves growl, and renew their efforts in trying to find a way up to you.
494. “I know we just met, Applebloom, but please let me use my Stand to protect you.”
495. >Applebloom smiles at you, you see from the corner of your eye.
496. >”I ain’t about ta turn ya down, Angel.”
497. >She readies her slingshot, and fires another shot.
498.
499. >You two take out one after another from the safety of the clubhouse.
500. >You with your Stand, and Applebloom with her Slingshot.
501. >Picking off the wolves one-by-one, you can’t help but feel like this is too easy.
502. >Like the Timberwolves are letting you pick them off.
503. >They’re getting fewer in number.
504. >Why would they-
505. >Oh, poop.
506. “Applebloom, wait!”
507. >Applebloom looks over at you, her hand in the pouch on her belt.
508. “I just remembered something! When there’s a lot of Timberwolves down, but a few left, they have the ability to reform themselves into a giant Timberwolf!”
509. >You look down at the sticks that have been piling up below you.
510. “They’ve been trying to get us to destroy all but a few of them, so they can make a big one and get us!”
511. >”Yer kiddin’!”
512. >You shake your head.
513. “No, I’m serious! Me and my friends took down a bunch of Timberwolves until there was only three left, and they used their magic to form into a big Timberwolf that we had to fight together!”
514. >You suddenly hear a slow clapping coming from the trees.
515.
516. >You look over, and see a weird man dressed in a robe.
517. >He’s come in, surrounded by Timberwolves, who look like they’re obeying his commands.
518. >”You’re a clever girl. You managed to figure it out.”
519. >Applebloom readies her slingshot.
520. >”Whoever you are, you ain’t allowed on Sweet Apple Acres unless Applejack said so!”
521. >The man laughs.
522. >”I go where I want, child. Like the wizard’s tower outside Canterlot.”
523. “Then I was right. You found the wizard’s research, and used it yourself.”
524. >”Very good, Angel Rammstein.”
525. >Was wor das?
526. “How do you know my name?”
527. >The man shrugs.
528. >”After you defeated one of my packs with the help of your friends, I decided to track you down, and learn everything I can about you. After all, it’s not every day I come across a strange power such as yours.”
529. >His eyes look really weird...and scary.
530. >”And that power will be MINE!”
531. ”So you’re a greedy stalker, and an evil wizard! Who are you?”
532. >”I’ve dispensed with the names this world has given me! I go by Valarius, High Priest of Lord Tirek!”
533. >Applebloom raises an eyebrow.
534. >”Tirek? You mean that one evil God Applejack told me about that’s imprisoned in Tartarus?”
535. >Vella-something wags his finger.
536. >”Too true! And once I gain enough magical power, I will bring Tirek into this world, and he will rule over all the land!”
537. >He talks a big game, but you feel like this guy is really pathetic.
538. >He points at you.
539. >”And your power over rock and stone, little lady, will give me exactly what I need to achieve the next stage of my power!”
540.
541. >”Angel, we need to take out these Timberwolves. I don’t think this guy knows any magic that can get us down, else he’d a used it already.”
542. >V man (you can’t pronounce his name) laughs at your predicament.
543. >”Oh, yes! Please! Keep destroying my Timberwolves! Once enough of them have been destroyed in this location, they’ll merge together to create a big one! And then, I’ll summon more, wearing you down until you have no choice but to submit! You little girls are no match for me!”
544. >He’s annoying but he’s right. You can’t hold off the Timberwolves forever.
545. >You’re gonna need reinforcements.
546. “Yeah? Well, there’s one thing you didn’t count on, you doodoo-head!”
547. >”Oh? What’s that? What have I not considered?”
548. >You face the direction of the farmhouse, take a deep breath, and cup your hands on either side of your face.
549. “RICKYYYYYYYYY! HEEEEEEEELP!”
550.
551. >You’re Erich Rammstein.
552. >Currently teasing your BFF, Applejack.
553. >She laughs off your latest quip.
554. >You’re still not sure how you got back on the subject of calling Applejack a dog, but she’s rolling with it.
555. >”If you keep insistin’ I’m that much of a dog to you, I might have to buy some collars fer my wardrobe.”
556. >You smile, pressing the teasing attack.
557. “I’m sure you’d make it look good.”
558. >As you give your own laugh, you notice that her cheeks turn red.
559. >She quickly looks away, brushing her hair out of her face.
560. >”...Y’mean, yer into it, too?”
561. >Warte, was?
562. >Before you can question her on it, you hear Angel’s voice.
563. >“RICKYYYYYYYYY! HEEEEEEEELP!”
564. >Those two words immediately triggered your ‘big brother response.’
565. >As you leap over the fence you were leaning on, you hear Applebloom call after her.
566. >”APPLEJAAAACK! TIMBERWOLVES!”
567. >Timberwolves?
568. >You pause. Aren’t those just an urban legend?
569. >You look over at AJ, who seems to be taking the statement seriously.
570. >She’s turned to her brother, and called out to him.
571. >”Big mac! Get the guns! Applebloom’s in trouble!”
572. >Well, if she’s that serious about it...
573. “I’ll go rescue the girls! I'm sure my Stand can defeat them easily!”
574. >Before you go off, Applejack calls to you.
575. >”We’ll back you up once we’re armed! Go! Make sure they’re safe!”
576. >You nod, and dash off through the orchard, making a beeline towards Angel’s location.
577. >You learned when fighting Westerholt that you can use your Stand to increase your mobility.
578. >Knowing this, you lash out with a black tentacle that shoots out from your sleeve.
579. >It wraps around a branch, and tugs you forward shortly before dissipating.
580. >You do the same thing with your other sleeve.
581. >Soon enough, you’re propelling yourself through the air by pulling forward with your Stand after each one connects with a branch.
582.
583. >It doesn’t take you long to reach the clubhouse.
584. >You land and fall forward, but begin rolling on the ground, and back onto your feet.
585. >Making a mental note to work on your landings, you quickly assess the situation.
586. >You see that the girls are safe, for the moment.
587. >The clubhouse is cut off through the use of a drawbridge, but the girls are trapped.
588. >A couple dozen timberwolves have completely surrounded the area.
589. >Fich. Guess they really do exist.
590. >Angel calls out to you.
591. >”Ricky! That doodoohead is picking on me! Help!”
592. >You look over at the aforementioned doodoohead to see an emo kid dressed in what you think is his mother’s robe.
593. >You say Emo kid, but he can’t be much younger or older than you.
594. >Guess he never grew out of it.
595. >He scowls at you, before motioning his hand towards you.
596. >Several of the Timberwolves turn to you, and charge.
597. “「BENZIN」!”
598. >”AUF!”
599. >A fist pops out from under your hat, smashing the lead wolf to bits.
600. >This gives the other wolves pause.
601. >But with renewed spirit, they charge as well.
602. >”AUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUFAUF!”
603. >A flurry of shadowy fists unleash a barrage upon the wolves out from under your jacket.
604. >The wolves are smashed to pieces.
605. >You look up at the emo kid.
606. >He looks kind of impressed with you.
607. >”You control shadows?! That’s so metal!”
608. >So he’s one of *those* emo kids.
609. >How annoying.
610.
611. >You take a step forward, pointing an accusing finger at him.
612. “I don’t know who you are, but you chose the wrong day to mess with my family.”
613. >He gives a small chuckle.
614. >”So, you’re that girl’s...what? Father?”
615. >You correct him.
616. “Brother. Erich Rammstein.”
617. >He takes a snide, mocking tone with you.
618. >”My, that’s a generation gap. Well, ‘Big Brother.’ I am Valarius, High Priest of Lord Tirek, and the master of the Darkness in Humanity’s heart!”
619. >You visibly cringe at that title.
620. >He points a gnarled walking stick topped with a rat skull at you.
621. >”And you’re just a speed bump on my path to true power.”
622. >You snicker, suppressing your smile.
623. “I-it’s like watching a train wreck.”
624. >He looks confused, and angry.
625. >”Beg your pardon, cretin?”
626. >Okay, that did it.
627. >You can’t take it anymore.
628. >You burst out laughing at Mr. I’m-darker-than-you’s word choice.
629. >”Hey! Darkness is no laughing matter! Don’t you dare mock me!”
630. >Gott, you can’t take it!
631. >If this guy kills you, it’s because he made you laugh to death!
632. >You wipe away a tear.
633. “I-I don’t need to mock you! You do a good enough job of doing it to yourself!”
634. >”What’s so funny?!”
635. >Oh, damn. You think he’s about to burst a vein.
636. >You calm down enough to talk.
637. “Oh, nothing. Say, what’s your favorite band, out of curiosity?”
638. >He hesitates, before answering.
639. >”My Chemical Romance?”
640. >FUCKING CALLED IT!
641. >Your laughter resumes.
642. >Heilige Scheiße, your stomach hurts.
643. >”Stop laughing! Explain yourself immediately!”
644.
645. >You catch your breath, and clear your throat.
646. “Alright, Stinkstiefel. I’m going to guess what your backstory is. Tell me if I get it right.”
Smelly boot. A derogatory term for a grumpy person.
647. >He lowers his stick, and nods, watching you intently.
648. “You grew up different from the other kids. You didn’t really like sports or video games, and felt mostly alone. You developed an artistic streak, maybe something to do with poetry. You gave your parents attitude growing up, and had a vested interest in Satan and the occult, because everything else was ‘too mainstream.’ After some studying, you found out about a Satanic figure known as Tirek, and about an evil wizard that lived near Canterlot. You decided to investigate, and found the wizard’s tower, along with all his research. At that point, you decided to run away from home, take up residence in the old tower, and learn what you can of magic. And then, you discovered how to create Timberwolves. Using some half-learned spells and some wolf minions, you figured you’d take revenge on the world for ‘not understanding your pain.’ Am I right?”
649. >The kid seems really angry.
650. >”My spells aren’t half-learned! Y-you don’t know a thing about me!”
651. >You start laughing again.
652. “Mein Gott! I got it in one!”
653. >You see a ball of magic forming in his hand.
654. >”S-stop laughing at me! I can make you know agony the likes of which you’ve never experienced before!”
655. >You cough, catching your breath.
656. “Whatever you say, Criss Angel.”
657.
658. >That set him off.
659. >He tosses the magic bolt at you.
660. >You take cover behind a tree, as the bolt explodes in a shower of sparks.
661. “You missed, Spargeltarzan!”
Asparagus Tarzan. A Derogatory term for a skinny, gangly person.
662. >Several more bolts collide with the tree, launching from his staff.
663. >He tries to send his wolves forward, but several of them fall before they reach you.
664. >The girls must be taking out the wolves.
665. >You notice the guy’s distracted.
666. >Quickly acting, you wave your hand towards him.
667. >A shadowy razor blade shoots up from the ground, and slides toward him, travelling along a shadow cast by a tree.
668. >He looks back over to you, and raises his staff.
669. >The shadow razor collides with a shield made from magic.
670. >You grunt.
671. “How annoying.”
672. >The barrage of magic starts back up again.
673. >The fact that he’s not using that spell on the girls must mean that it will harm them.
674. >Which means he intends to capture them alive.
675. >Which means that you don’t have to worry about them getting hurt, for the moment.
676. >He sends forth another wave of wolves.
677. >You put your arms apart, and clap.
678. >Two black walls come out from connected shadows from nearby trees.
679. >They quickly come together, smashing into each other, and all the wolves in between.
680. “Let me show you how to wolf!”
681. >You throw out your hand, and a pack of shadow wolves are conjured.
682. >They rush the spellcaster, only to get intercepted by the timberwolves.
683. >But your wolves have the strength of your Stand.
684. >The Timberwolves are only as strong as normal wolves.
685. >Your pack easily overwhelms his.
686. >But then, you see a bright light, and your wolves dissipate.
687. >It’s coming from his staff.
688. >”You fool! How can you have such a powerful ability, and your weakness be bright light?!”
689. “At least I don’t hole myself up in a tower because I didn’t like mommy’s mainstream cooking, Pissnelke!”
Piss-carnation. Derogatory word for ‘nerd.’
690.
691. >The barrage of magical blasts resume.
692. >Seems like you touched a nerve, there.
693. >You seem to be at a stalemate.
694. >He knows a few spells, and is pretty good with both offense and defense.
695. >Even with the girls shooting rocks at him and the wolves, you don’t think this battle will be over anytime, soon.
696. >You’re really glad you started training since your fight with Giorno.
697. >You can hold out in this war of attrition.
698. >He can’t have that much mana, or whatever his magical essence is.
699. >Can he?
700. >Suddenly, a shot rings out.
701. >And a nearby timberwolf falls.
702. >You look over, and see Applejack and Big Mac!
703. >The cavalry's arrived!
704. >A bolt of magic convinces them to take cover.
705. >”Rick! What the hay’s goin’ on!?”
706. >You see AJ pull the bolt back on her Springfield 1903.
707. >You launch another Stand fist at Valarius.
708. >Damn, his shield is still up.
709. “Tall, Dark, and Magical over there is the source of the timberwolves! He found the old wizard’s tower, and now wants to kidnap our little sisters for some reason!”
710. >”Not on my watch!”
711. >AJ levels another shot at a timberwolf, and sends it tumbling to the ground.
712. >Big Mac fires three rounds in quick succession with his Henry.
713. >”Where’s the girls?!”
714. “They’re safe up in the clubhouse!”
715. >”Good!”
716.
717. >Gott, the reports from those rifles are hell on your ears.
718. >Roll with it for now.
719. >Might as well give some fire support.
720. >You reach into your jacket, and form a shadow MG-34.
721. >Rolling down to the ground, you level it at a group of timberwolves.
722. >The ‘buzzsaw’ makes a comparatively soft whir as it strikes the timberwolves, the shadowy bullets ripping through the wolves.
723. >Something’s very wrong, though.
724. >The wizard’s wolves are dropping like flies.
725. >Why aren’t they charging in?
726. >”Ain’t these wolves outnumberin’ us?! Why the hay ain’t they attackin’?!”
727. “I was just thinking that, Big Mac!”
728. >You look over at Valarius.
729. >He’s just smiling.
730. >He knows something you don’t.
731. >”Ricky!”
732. >You look up at Angel.
733. >She and Applebloom look like they’ve been trying to get your attention.
734. >They’re both mouthing something.
735. >Stop…
736. >Killing…
737. >The…
738. >Wol-
739. >Applejack shoots another wolf down.
740. >”Whatever! We only got a few more!”
741. >Angel and Applebloom look around at the defeated wolves, fearfully.
742. >”Let’s mop up the rest of these timberwolves, an’-”
743. >The ground begins shaking.
744. >The sticks begin moving.
745. >The remaining wolves let out a deafening howl.
746. >Suddenly, the sticks start clumping together around them.
747. >More and more sticks, branches, and even logs start to form into a huge mass.
748. >You and the Apples stand up from cover as the huge mass forms into a giant timberwolf.
749. >It looks down, and growls at you.
750. >You just have one thing to say to this.
751. “Oh, Fick mich.”
752.
753. >You look at the Timberwolf, snorting smoke out at you.
754. >Mein Gott, his breath stinks.
755. >Without looking, you start speaking.
756. “AJ, Big Mac, get ready to catch the girls.”
757. >”The hay’re you talkin’ about, Rick?”
758. “Trust me, just get ready to catch them, and move.”
759. >The timberwolf gives a huge growl, and gets ready to attack.
760. >You close your jacket tight, and gather as much shadow as you possibly can, making it dense.
761. >The wolf lunges forward, intent on snapping you in half with its humongous teeth.
762. >At that exact moment, you open your jacket, and a huge steam train made of shadow bursts out, colliding with the wolf, and sending it careening back!
763. >You even made a working train whistle that operates by using incoming air to blow!
764. >You feel particularly proud of that.
765. >The giant Timberwolf rolls onto its back as the train dissipates, not enough shadow to stay solidified.
766. >You see AJ and Big Mac run over to the clubhouse, and hold out their arms.
767. >”Jump, girls!”
768. >Applebloom and Angel jump from the clubhouse, landing safely into the arms of the farmers.
769. >The wolf is back on its feet, shaking its head.
770. >”Alright Rick, we got the girls, let’s go!”
771. >As you nod to her, a blast from your right catches you by surprise.
772. >The next moment, you hear Big Mac yelp out as if something struck him.
773. >You look over, to see that Big Mac’s leg has been charred.
774. “Scheiße!”
775. >He can still hobble along, but he’s definitely not running.
776. >You look back to the source of the blast.
777. >And see the Emo fickfehler, lowering his staff and grinning as if he accomplished something.
778. >”No one’s running from me.”
779.
780. >The giant wolf strolls up next to him, snarling at you.
781. >It took a lot of stamina to be able to make that train, but your training seems to have paid off.
782. >You can still go a few more rounds.
783. >This in mind, you step towards him.
784. “AJ, evacuate the girls and your brother. I’ll deal with this Schwein, and give you a chance to get away.”
785. >You hear concern in AJ’s voice.
786. >”Rick, I know yer a Stand user an’ all, but there ain’t no way you can take him with that huge varmint backin’ him up!”
787. “I don’t need to defeat him. I just need to delay him, and give you guys a chance to get to a better position. We’re at a disadvantage in this terrain, but this is your home. You can lead our foe to a place where it’d be far more advantageous for us to fight.”
788. >You look over at AJ.
789. “I’m giving you two minutes, and then I’m coming after you. Use that time wisely.”
790. >Applejack nods, and picks up her brother, allowing him to use her as a support.
791. >Suddenly, your little sister comes up to hug you.
792. >”But Ricky, you’ll get hurt on your own! I’ll stay with you.”
793. >You look down at Angel, shaking your head, and pushing her away.
794. “No, Engel. Your power will be better suited defending the Apples. They’re not Stand users. Remember? We have a duty to protect those who don’t have Stands.”
795. >Applejack takes Angel’s hand with her free hand.
796. >”Don’t worry, Rick. We’ll keep each other safe.”
797.
798. >You watch as they leave, and turn back to Emo kid.
799. “You were very courteous to allow me to talk with them. Thank you.”
800. >He shrugs.
801. >”Courtesy has nothing to do with it. I just know that my powers are great enough to overwhelm you, and it won’t be that hard to find them after I do. Any plans you make against me are ultimately futile.”
802. >You roll your eyes, chuckling.
803. “Oh wow, I almost had an ounce of respect for you. You should take a page out of Julius Caesar’s tactics, and never underestimate your opponent. Maybe then you wouldn’t be such a Flachwichser.”
Fuckwit. Literal translation “Flat Wanker.”
804. >He glares at you.
805. >”I don’t know what that means, but you’re going to eat those words. Get’em!”
806. >You ready yourself as the wolf charges you again.
807.
808. >You’re Applejack.
809. >Currently trying your best not to go back and help Rick.
810. >Consarnit, you want to, badly.
811. >But he seems to have a plan, and is counting on you.
812. >As soon as he told you to find a more advantageous spot to fight, there was one place that popped into your head.
813. >If you can get to that place, neither the Timberwolves nor that feller bringin’ ‘em to your farm’ll be able to take you.
814. >You just hope you an’ Angel’s Pink rabbit thingy can hold ‘em off until then...
815.
816. >”「BENZIN」!”
817. >Your Stand catches the Timberwolf’s paw as it goes to strike you..
818. >Its mass is driving you back.
819. >You can feel your heels digging into the ground you’re sliding over.
820. >Your Stand has the power it needs to match the giant wolf’s strength, and you definitely have the stamina to hold him off.
821. >But there’s no way you can fight both the wolf and Valarius at the same time.
822. >You’ve done good bluffing it so far.
823. >Every second you can buy for AJ and the others is another one she can use to get to a good position.
824. >”AUF!”
825. >A fist comes out from your hat, colliding with the wolf’s toe.
826. >It suddenly yelps as you send the toe flying off.
827. >Backing off, the wolf whimpers as sticks come back to reform its missing toe.
828. >You point threateningly at both the wolf and Valarius.
829. “Give it up, emo kid. I’m far more powerful than you AND your pets.”
830. >Valarius scowls his signature scowl, but doesn’t say anything.
831. >You smirk.
832. “What? Got nothing to say? Are you too devastated by your inability to crush me? Maybe you’ll feel better if you cut yourself.”
833. >His scowl turns into a grin.
834. >”I see now what you’re doing.”
835. >Was wor das?
836. >”You’ve been trying to unbalance me with your constant insults and blows to my ego. You think that if I’m too focused on killing you, then I won’t be able to go after your little sister.”
837. >...
838. >Wow.
839.
840. >You lower your finger, still trying to maintain your smirk.
841. “I thought I had you figured out. You’re not half as stupid as you look, and that’s saying a lot. Kudos, but it doesn’t matter. My 「BENZIN」 is more powerful than your magic.”
842. >He chuckles.
843. >That’s not good.
844. >“Actually, it isn’t. You’ve been focusing all your attacks on my Timberwolf, and none of them were effective enough to destroy it. Which means you don’t have the strength to do it.”
845. >He motions his hand towards you.
846. >The timberwolf charges, and tries to bring down its jaw around you.
847. >You bring out 「BENZIN」, and catch both sides of its mouth.
848. >You commit every last bit of your power to holding the wolf’s jaw open, grunting as you struggle to maintain your strength.
849. >You can only watch as Valarius comes beside you, a shit-eating grin on his face.
850. >”If you don’t have the strength to best my wolf, then there’s nothing you can do to stop me from going after your friends, myself. How long can you hold off being eaten alive, I wonder? Not that it matters. You’re nothing more than a speed bump on my path to power.”
851. >He leans in close, and whispers to you.
852. >”There can only be one master of the Darkness, and it isn’t you or your 「BENZIN」.”
853. >Mein Gott, it’s taking all your strength not to cringe.
854. >Valarius summons another pack of Timberwolves, and begins walking off.
855. >”I’ll leave you two to get acquainted while I go fetch your sister, shall I? Have fun...for as long as your meaningless life lasts.”
856. >You stand there, still trying to keep yourself from being eaten, unable to stop him or his new pack of wolves.
857.
858. >You’re AJ again.
859. >And you’re getting close to that place.
860. >If you can just reach that place-
861. >”Applejack, look out!”
862. >Angel suddenly rips her hand from yours, and turns to block a bolt of magic with her Stand.
863. >You look back to see that feller from before, with another pack of Timberwolves pursuin’ you.
864. “Consarnit! He caught up!”
865. >”Wait, where’s my brother?”
866. >You pause.
867. >Rick...he…
868. >He ain’t there.
869. >You steel yourself.
870. “That don’t matter, right now! C’mon!”
871. >”No!”
872. >You look over at Angel.
873. >She has tears in her eyes, and looks angry.
874. >”I’m not leaving until I know Ricky is safe!”
875. >You’re about to say something, when a Timberwolf leaps at you.
876. >”「ROCK YOU ACT 2」!”
877. >”Ayiyiyiyiyiyiyiyiyiyi!”
878. >You watch as Angel turns the wolf into a fine powder with her Stand’s fists.
879. >That bought you some time, as some of the wolves are apprehensive after seeing that display of power.
880. >Applebloom snipes one of the wolves with her slingshot.
881. >You try to reason with Angel.
882. “I know yer worried ‘bout yer brother, Sugarcube. I am, too. But right now, if that rotten varmint catches us, neither of us ‘re gonna see him again, understand?”
883. >You set Big Mac down long enough to aim and fire your rifle at another wolf who was approaching.
884. >Seems that wizard doesn’t like the situation as it is. He’s hiding behind a tree.
885. >You fire an experimental shot at a magic shield that was peeking out behind it.
886. >It shatters, and the wizard panics.
887. >Huh, maybe you can keep him away.
888. “C’mon, Angel. I got us a place to go where we can beat this guy, an’ all his wolves.”
889. >You grab Angel’s hand, as she reluctantly accepts it.
890. >”I hope Ricky’s okay.”
891. “Me too, Sugarcube.”
892. >You get Big Mac back on his feet, and continue on.
893.
894. >You’re Erich, again.
895. >And you’re having the worst experience of your life.
896. >It’s bad enough that you have to hold this creature’s mouth open.
897. >But what makes it worse is it’s breath.
898. >To say it smells like a sewer would be giving it credit.
899. >It’s taking your entire fortitude not to vomit.
900. >You’re pretty sure the smell is soaking into your clothes, too.
901. >You’re gonna have to burn this suit when you get home.
902. >Which means the arschloch who summoned this beast owes you money for a new one.
903. >And when you get your hands on him, you’re gonna wring every penny out from him.
904. >The beast growls, it’s uvula wriggling in it’s mouth.
905. >Wait, it’s uvula?
906. >It needs to breathe?
907. >...You can work with that.
908. >It has to have a gag reflex, right?
909. >Could you exert enough stamina for a burst down its throat?
910. >If you can, you’re going to have to react quicker than you ever have before.
911. >You noticed earlier that the wolves who got shot in the neck by the Apple’s rifles didn’t get back up.
912. >Maybe this big guy’s the same way.
913. >Only one way to find out.
914.
915. >From under your hat, you gather some shadow.
916. >It takes some concentration away from holding the beast’s mouth open.
917. >Now it’s jaw is slowly overpowering your Stand.
918. >Don’t worry about it, just focus on the shadows on your head.
919. >Form it into something quick.
920. >Something that’ll hit the creature in the back of the throat, and make it regret trying to eat you.
921. >Slowly, a tiny V2 rocket forms underneath your Homburg.
922. >Scheiße, your Stand is about to give out!
923. >The rocket is ready!
924. >You launch just as your Stand’s arms give way.
925. >The rocket hits as the creature’s jaw snaps shut.
926. >The explosion creates even more shadows which transform into a spinning blade, decapitating the creature.
927. >All according to Keikaku.
Plan.
928. >Around you, the sticks and logs that made up the giant creature start falling apart, and the magic that was animating it dissipates.
929. >And had you not jumped as soon as the rocket launched, you would be a paraplegic right now.
930. >You rise out, brushing the faggot aside, and dash off after AJ and Angel.
931. >Now is not the time to celebrate.
932. >Your friend needs you.
933. >Your sister needs you.
934. >And you won’t let them down.
935.
936. >You’re AJ again.
937. >And you’re proud of your sister and Angel.
938. >They’re doin’ a mighty fine job of keepin’ the wolves at bay.
939. >And every time that varmint callin’ ‘em here tries to hit you with magic, Angel uses her Stand to block it.
940. >They can’t hold off much longer, what with Applebloom runnin’ outta slingshot pellets and Angel gettin’ tired.
941. >But they don’t have to.
942. “We’re here.”
943. >You set Big Mac down next to a tree, and check your rifle.
944. >The girls look around, seein’ the old apple tree by the river runnin’ through Sweet Apple Acres.
945. >”Applejack, we ain’t anywhere that’ll help us fight, are we?”
946. >You see that you only got two shots left.
947. >But you don’t need it anymore, so you set it down, and your hand goes for a pouch full of seeds.
948. “Trust me, Applebloom. We’re safe here.”
949. >”You’re not safe, anywhere.”
950. >The wolves and that annoyin’ emo varmint step onto the land yer standin’ on.
951. >You hold back a grin.
952. >”Valarius, High Priest of Tirek, and master of the Darkness in the hearts of Humanity, has cornered you.”
953. >You place a hand on Angel’s shoulder, and whisper to her.
954. “I got a plan, no matter what, trust me, okay?”
955. >She looks back at you, and nods.
956.
957. >You return your look to Valarius.
958. >He has his staff charged, and pointed at you.
959. “Look, it’s obvious you caught up with us, an’ we ain’t goin’ anywhere. But my family ain’t involved with whatever yer plannin’.”
960. >Valarius disarms his staff, but doesn’t lower it.
961. >”Go on…"
962. >You step forward, and give Valarius an offer.
963. >”Let me an’ my kin go, an’ you can have Rick’s sister.”
964. >Valarius smirks, lowering his staff.
965. >”Applejack?!”
966. >You knew Applebloom would be aghast.
967. >But you quickly hold up a finger.
968. “On one condition. I want you to promise that neither Angel, nor my family will come to harm.”
969. >Valarius laughs. Like an evil supervillain.
970. >”Oh? Have we finally recognized my greatness? My superiority? Very well, then.”
971. >He steps forward, offering an inviting hand towards you.
972. >”You have my word. I swear that I shall never again harm you, your family, or the little girl.”
973. >As soon as he said this, you see roots start growing underneath his feet.
974. >You smile.
975. “You liar.”
976.
977. >There’s a moment of confusion on Valarius’ face, before it’s filled with an uncomprehending fear.
978. >The roots have suddenly shot up, wrapping the varmint’s limbs and staff.
979. >They start dragging him down into the Earth.
980. >”What?! What’s going on?!”
981. >You start forward, flicking seeds at the ground beneath the feet of Timberwolves.
982. >As soon as they strike, thorns begin growing, entrapping groups of Timberwolves.
983. >Angel, probably from having been in a fight like this, reacts immediately, and starts going after stray wolves.
984. >Her Stand turns the wolves into stone, and makes ‘em crumble away.
985. >The wolves you snared struggle, but your Stand starts sappin’ their magic like a hungry leech.
986. >Guess since it’s what’s causin’ them to move, it must count as their soul.
987. >Valarius is puttin’ up quite a fight, but your Stand is still draggin’ him down.
988. >”I don’t understand! What kind of magic is this?!”
989. “It ain’t magic.”
990. >You kneel down to address him as the roots try to drag him into the soil.
991. “This is the power of my Stand. This is 「THE RIVER」. It ain’t a good idea to lie on 「THE RIVER」, ‘cause if ya do, the 「DEVIL GETS YOUR SOUL」.”
992.
993. >”Y-you can’t do this! This shouldn’t happen to the High Priest of Tirek!”
994. “Maybe you shoulda thought o’ that before you hurt Rick.”
995. >”Th-the Shadow conjurer?! He’s still alive! That’s the truth!”
996. >...
997. >The weeds ain’t speedin’ up, he’s being honest.
998. >”H-he was battling my giant timberwolf last I saw him! If you hurry, you might still be able to help him!”
999. >Huh, good to know he ain’t dead.
1000. >”N-now please, let me go! I’ve told the truth!”
1001. >You shake your head.
1002. “My Stand don’t work like that. It’s automatic.”
1003. >”WHAT?!”
1004. “But don’t worry. Once the 「DEVIL GETS YOUR SOUL」, I get a scale. An’ if someone comes along ta pay off the debt o’ your lies, you’ll have repented for yer 「EVIL WAYS」.”
1005. >You watch as 「THE RIVER」 slowly swallows up the Emo varmint.
1006. >He disappears underneath the ground with a resounding “NOOOOOOOO!”
1007. >As soon as the last of him disappears, a scale made of wood appears.
1008. >It’s tilted far to the right.
1009.
1010. >You pick up the scale, and inspect it.
1011. >It looks like all the others you’ve seen over the years.
1012. >But y’ain’t seen a scale this unbalanced in a long time.
1013. >You doubt anyone’s gonna come in search o’ him, so ya might as well keep it.
1014. >You look over at Applebloom and Angel.
1015. “You two alright?”
1016. >They both nod, and Angel suddenly speaks.
1017. >”Where’s Ricky?”
1018. >With a smile, you go over, and bend down to her level to put a hand on her shoulder.
1019. “Let’s go find ‘em together, okay, Sugarcube?”
1020. >”There’s no need for that.”
1021. >That voice!
1022. >You turn and see-
1023. >”Ricky!”
1024. >Angel immediately runs up to her brother, and embraces him around the waist.
1025. >Rick smiles, puttin’ his hand on his little sister’s head.
1026. >The sight warms your heart, and you smile, walkin’ over.
1027. >But the hug don’t last long.
1028. >Angel suddenly breaks off, coverin’ her nose.
1029. >”Ricky, you’re stinky!”
1030. >You stop, smellin’ the air.
1031. >Your face scrunches up as the smell hits you.
1032. “Whooee! She ain’t kiddin’, Rick! Ya’ll smell like a pig that got in tussle with a skunk!”
1033. >Rick shrugs, backin’ off.
1034. >”Well, that’s what happens when you almost get swallowed by a giant Timberwolf. At least you weren’t standing in it.”
1035. >You wave him over, coverin’ yer nose.
1036. “C’mon, you can use the shower in th’ barn, an’ I’ll getcha a change o’ clothes.”
1037. >Rick looks disheartened.
1038. >”You mean I can’t use the one in your house?”
1039. >You shake yer head.
1040. “Smellin’ like that? You’d give poor Granny Smith a gassin’ that I ain’t sure she’d survive.”
1041. >Rick looks defeated.
1042. >”You’re a Böse Herrin, AJ.”
Evil Mistress
1043. >You pick up Big Mac, and you an’ the rest all head back to the house, givin’ Rick a wide berth.
1044.
1045. >You’re Erich Rammstein again.
1046. >Currently scrubbing yourself with some soap as water sprinkles down on you.
1047. >AJ’s idea of a “shower” was a bucket full of holes and lukewarm water slowly being drained into it.
1048. >But it seemed to be working.
1049. >The wood planks even had enough spacing to function as a drain, you realize.
1050. >The water must be running off to be absorbed into the crops nearby.
1051. >Clever, that.
1052. >You hear someone coming up.
1053. >From the feel of the shadows in the barn, it must be AJ.
1054. >”Rick? I gotcha some o’ Big Mac’s ol’ throwaways. You can keep ‘em if’n ya want.”
1055. >You can’t see them as she hangs them up on the line, but you know for a fact that her brother has some good taste in clothing.
1056. “Danke, Applejack. I appreciate it.”
1057. >You feel her lean up against the shower.
1058. >She’s got her back to you, so she’s not peeping.
1059. >She’s just standing there.
1060. “Was there something else, AJ?”
1061. >She hesitates as you wash yourself.
1062. >”Rick, I was talkin’ with yer sister.”
1063. >Really?
1064. “And?”
1065. >”She knows about yer...political views.”
1066. >Oh.
1067. >You only pause for a moment.
1068. “Well, she’s very clever, so I’m not surprised she figured it out.”
1069. >”I just wanna clear somethin’ up, if that’s okay.”
1070. >Here we go.
1071. “I’m an open book, AJ. What do you wanna know?”
1072. >”You, ah, don’t think that people should be...exterminated, do ya?”
1073. >...
1074. >Starting with the doozy, then.
1075. >You can work with this.
1076. >And suffice to say, you’ve done more research.
1077. >Your views have changed since you visited the compound.
1078. “I don’t believe people should be subjected to horrible treatment of any sort, AJ.”
1079. >You can feel her face the shower.
1080. >”But Rick, the entire idea behind yer beliefs is racial superiority. How do ya-”
1081. “I’m gonna cut you off there and tell you you’re wrong, AJ. It was never about racial superiority, and you need to leave what school has taught you at the door. You’ve been lied to about a great many things.”
1082.
1083. >“But what about the Holocaust? Ya’ll can’t tell me you can justify that.”
1084. >You put down the soap, and use your Stand to bring you your towel.
1085. >As you towel off, you begin speaking.
1086. ”AJ, I’m going to give you a scenario. A bakery chain has five shops. Each shop has about 15 ovens. It takes each oven 1 hour to bake one cake. The bakery keeps the ovens running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 4 years. They bake 1,800 cakes a day, which equals out to 657,000 cakes a year. Multiply that by 4, and you get 2,628,000.”
1087. >”Alright, enough with the fancy mathematics, what’s yer point?”
1088. >You finish drying, and begin bringing in the clothes AJ got you.
1089. “My point is, that the owner of this bakery boasts that it cooked 6 million cakes in 4 years. What do you think of that claim?”
1090. >You can feel that Applejack looks insulted.
1091. >”Horse hockey. There ain’t no way the bakery can cook that many cakes in that timeframe. The owner has to be lyin’.”
1092. >You smirk, straightening the clothes.
1093. >You throw open the door, looking at her.
1094. “Congratulations, AJ. You’re a Holocaust Denier.”
1095. >Applejack looks confused.
1096. >”Beg yer pardon?”
1097.
1098. >You begin to explain, stepping out of the shower.
1099. “Applejack, the ovens at the supposed death camps of Auschwitz, Treblinka, Majdanek, Belzec, and Sobibor generally total out to 75 ovens. The sources change often on how many ovens were in each camp. It takes an hour with modern crematories to incinerate a single corpse. Yet to believe the Holocaust, you’d have to flunk basic math principles, and believe that each oven, using technology from the 1940’s, incinerated 183 corpses per hour. Unless Nazi Germany developed Nuclear technology for the express purpose of cremating bodies before Equestria did as a bomb, there’s no way that six million Jews died in the Holocaust.”
1100. >Predictably, Applejack looks upset.
1101. >”But there’s more camps than just those. There was ‘bout a dozen other concentration camps. How do ya know no one was killed in those?”
1102. >Your smirk widens, as you pull out your cellphone.
1103. “Because Allied forces told us so. These are reports of Allied investigators and their determination as to what the concentration camps were. As you can see, they determined that there were no means of execution, and that the camps they investigated were work camps. Here, read it for yourself.”
1104. >Applejack takes your cellphone, and begins reading the document you showed her.
1105. >Her brow furrows in confusion as she continues reading.
1106. >She looks up at you in disbelief.
1107. >”It don’t list any of the camps like Auschwitz ‘er nothin’.”
1108. “That’s because the Soviets investigated those camps, not the Allies.”
1109. >You scoff.
1110. “And we all know how trustworthy Communists are.”
1111.
1112. >Applejack gives you back your phone, skeptically.
1113. >"So yer sayin' that we've been taught a lie all this time?"
1114. >You nod, continuing.
1115. “Further, When mein vater was in school, they told him it was 9 million people who died, 6 million of which were Jews. When I was in school, they told me it was 12 million. I recently learned from Angel’s homework that they’re telling her it was 17 million. And an online news article stated that the number was now 20 million. Why does the number keep increasing? Why do the Allies insist no gassings took place? Why does the math never add up no matter which way you look at it? The only answer is obvious, Applejack: The Holocaust is a lie.”
1116. >Applejack sighs, looking down to her side.
1117. >”I...I don’t wanna believe you, but...what yer sayin’...it makes sense.”
1118. >She looks back up.
1119. >”But that don’t explain things like videos an’ pictures! An’ what about Anne Frank’s diary? Or Schindler’s list? An’ why would they lie about it?”
1120. >You take back your phone, and put an arm around her shoulders.
1121. “We have much to discuss, Applejack. I’m willing to provide evidence to everything I say, and tell you exactly what really happened. All I ask is that you listen.”
1122.
1123. >You’re Angel Rammstein.
1124. >And you’re watching Ricky lead AJ back to the house.
1125. >You were too afraid to confront your brother about it yourself.
1126. >But you needed to hear it from his mouth.
1127. >He doesn’t wanna hurt people.
1128. >You remember his words.
1129. >“I don’t believe people should be subjected to horrible treatment of any sort.”
1130. >You smile.
1131. >You knew Ricky was a good guy.
1132. >You don’t understand the rest of what he was saying to AJ, but you understand that he’s a good guy.
1133. >And that’s all that matters.
